Located in Holiday Cente Shops along Rt. 22 in Monroeville. A nice well organized store with a good variety of arts and crafts. Nice staff, they're friendly and helpful. Good prices when coupons are available. The rewards program is definitely worth using. I get special sales and rewards for every dollar spent adds up to more savings. Unfortunately a lot of things I used to be able to purchase in store are now only available online such as airbrush's , paint and accessories. Still it does have a good selection of arts and crafts including kids educational and fun crates and games. I visit often and the online ordering and self pickup is a convenient feature. Well, I certainly miss the friendly helpful staff at JoAnne Fabrics. The service in Michaels today was extremely off putting. The two young ladies were not helpful at all (obviously didn't enjoy their jobs) Needing some fabric, rolling eyes, huffing, sighing, and then second one on the register, was curt, and not personable at all. No respect for elders. Another woman heard and saw what happened, and said "how rude she thought they were". I won't be going back there. read more

came to buy yarn and fabric at Michaels Waterfront Homestead store. shopping at 11 am on a midmorning weekday (a full week before the Christmas rush week.. ) ONE person at checkout, line was 8 people long . I selected $50 of fabric ; cutting table said CUSTOMER: PRESS BUTTON FOR SERVICE . DO NOT CUT FABRIC YOURSELF. pressed button -- no joy after 10 min. pressed again --still no help, waited another 10 min.. asked passing customer: please tell checkout I need help to cut fabric ? still no joy. went to front of store and saw manager -looking woman, told her I've been waiting in fabric cutting for 20 minutes --she rudely said 'sorry I'm busy' and never returned to help or send any on else to do so . I walked out after wasting 1/2 hr. I will NEVER return again to this poorly managed store. (PS- I customarily deal with G Street Fabrics in Rockville MD which has excellent in- person human help and a great on line order business. ) read more

A nice store in Monroeville for all you crafty folks out there. In the course of looking for styrofoam balls for a science project my son was doing, along with lettering, twine, clips and markers, we walked the whole store. There's a LOT of stuff here! Came here with the sole purpose of having some prints matted. Knowing what you want before you show up really helps when you are trying to save time, or at least cut down on the time that you are in a place. I walked in here and made my way to the framing counter right off the bat. Showing up there I thought that it would be a fairly quick stop... When I got to the counter there was already one customer there. No big deal, I'll still be able to get this done quickly. A few minutes pass and the same customer is still taking up all of the employees time. The employee gets on his walkie talkie and asks for some assistance, no one shows. Few more minutes and another customer shows up, same customer is still taking up the time. Employee once again calls for help, no one shows. More time passes, more calls for help, but no matter what it was like this employee could not get any help, all the while the same customer is wavering between frames. That customer finally leaves and I am able to get to the counter. Show my prints and frames and just tell him that I want them matted. He takes measurements and gives me a time to come back. I go do my thing and show back up to pick up my stuff. Who, by chance, is there, that original customer. However he was kind enough to let me pick my items up and go. I opted to take it and put my prints in frame at home. I figure it would have been done faster for my liking. And anyway, the employee wasn't getting any help from anyone else in the store. read more

This isn't my favorite Michael's location, but I go here when it's convenient. It's smaller than the Michael's I normally shop at. The associates are nice and helpful. They recently switched some products around the store so I needed to find out the new locations of some things. There's always a good sale or coupon to use so check the app! read more

There are certain things that I inevitably wind up at a Michael's for and 'twas two days before Christmas this year and I found myself at this Michael's looking for a glitter pen. It was laid out as all Michael's are with craft supplies, beads and paint to the right, silk flowers right in the door, baskets, vases, etc to the left. There was a pretty large sale section in the front with a great selection of packs of Christmas notes that I snatched up for $1/pack of 6 cards/envelopes. My favorite was a pack of partridge in a pear tree cards. My aunt's maiden name is Partridge so that worked out perfectly for her side of the family. The store was clean and organized with plenty of choices. The ornament section was the only exception - the cupboard was bare. I think there were about 6 pieces left. It was two days to go, but still disappointing. I have been on a hunt for this year's signature ornament for our tree and this place wasn't going to come through for me this time. Situated in a small strip mall, it is a convenient location if you happen to be in the neighborhood. The lines were a bit long but the cashier that assisted me was super friendly and helpful. This store is ok.........I have often gone though for certain items and found an empty shelf.....but I always find some useful stuff......I gotta say though.......I AM NOT thrilled with the staff....I have found a few of the cashiers downright rude......some employees annoying and just .....I don't know how else to say it......"odd"....... I have not yet had such a bad experience that I would avoid this location.......but they could surely improve customer service..... one annoying thing is: spray paint is under lock and key......you have to get an employee to get it out of the case.......ridiculous really. read more

I loved Michael's for its selection and frequent coupons... Until yesterday when I saw the manager arguing with an older couple at the front door for more than 30 minutes because she "needs proof that your dog is a service dog to enter the store." I suppose your ignorantly promoted ars didn't recognize the "service dog" ballistic vest on the dog, or the various medical equipment hanging from the owners belts. Service dogs aren't just for the visually impaired, but clearly your store is too discriminatory for me. By the way, it is illegal to require any individual to disclose their disability for any reason. I hope that couple sues you and wins! read more

I used to love this store ! Always clean , organized and the staff is happy to help you ... well until yesterday when I left there highly disappointed . I went specifically to purchase item with the 60% off one regular item coupon and that was not honored . The cashier was so nice and helpful however she asked for help the manager at this time because she couldn't figure out why my coupon doesn't work . She came arrogant and stated " well if it's not scanning it means it's not qualified for the offer of 60% ." I did ask why this was not included in the coupon description and never received answer as she proceed walking away . The cashier apologized multiple times to me . I end up purchasing what I needed and left with a bitter taste in my mouth . Unfortunately I will not consider this location in the near future . read more
