I had the framing of two caricatures on order here just before the pandemic hit Nevada. After receiving a phone call that both frames were ready for pickup, I showed up the next day only to learn from a notice posted on the front door that the store was closed per Governor Sisolak's Covid-19 order. Unlucky timing for me but understandable! After waiting a couple of weeks, seeing that this Michaels was then offering curbside service, I inquired if my frames could be picked up in this manner, and was told that they could be. So I showed up and the two wrapped frames were tossed in my car by a masked employee after I signed for them. Under the circumstances, I did not insist on opening the package and checking the merchandise at that time. When I got home and opened the taped package, one frame looked just fine as it was, but the other had a jutting open back and no wire or jagged metal strip on top in order to be able to hang the framed caricature on a wall. I mounted the finished frame, and waited until the store fully reopened again to bring in the incomplete frame, at which point a framer from Aaron Brothers acknowledged that the framing was not fully or properly completed, and agreed to finish the job at no additional charge. A few days later I picked up the second frame, which was now closed in the back and outfitted with a wire for hanging. The framing ultimately matched the specifications of the order but it took much longer than necessary to get everything done right. read more

I absolutely love Michaels but it's always so hard to find help when you need to find someone to ask for help. Many things sometimes don't have prices on them and it's impossible to find someone for help. But overall this is a great store great prices and many things to pick from. They even have classes you can take free but some you have to pay for the materials. There is ample parking and always coupons on the internet for you to use on regular priced items. I can usually find everything I need here, but not today. I had one associate help me come up with other ideas, but the cashier was lacking customer service skills. I got an item that I was going to use a coupon for, that was sent via email. When I opened the email, the coupon wasn't there amd showed the cashier. She wasn't very helpful. I told her to take the next customer while I continued looking and deciding what i was going to do. While I was standing there and she took the next customer BOTH of them decided to start talking about me and my issue. At that point I gave the cashier my item and told her she could keep it, as I was going somewhere else and didn't find her comment to the other customer appropriate. She told me "ok. bye". Worst customer service @ # 9195 by male manager who worked on Sat 11/2 day shift. The cashier made an admitted mistake that resulted in my voucher being -0- out. Instead of overriding her admitted error he told me there was nothing they could do. The voucher expires on Monday 11/4. On top of that when speaking to the cashier he told her "don't waste your time". That was very unprofessional and rude. I took a 36" X 24" print to their Frame Department on April 18th. Joe, their Frame Department Rep. quoted a price of $525.00 for a simple 1" frame which I thought was quite egregious. I protested and Joe immediately reduced the price to $425.00 while asserting their regular price was actually over $1,200.00. Just wanting to complete the project I consented to the $425.00 price and Joe promised the completed piece would be available for pickup on May 1st. On May 1st. Joe called to inform the completed picture hadn't arrived yet but would be available the following day (Monday, May 2nd.) or that Thursday. On May 2nd. Joe called again to inform that the print could not be completed because the mat HE recommended was in fact out of stock. Dumbfounded, I asked how it was even remotely plausible that it took Michaels 14 days (2 weeks) to realize the mat they suggested was in fact out of stock. Joe offered no explanation, just a hollow apology. I picked up my print that day and have taken my business elsewhere. Michaels Frame Department is a dubious entity at best. read more

Not to mention he did not provide any hanging method option. Whenever any of my kids have a school project that needs to be done, bam! Just like that, we are at Michaels getting all the materials they need. Every time I have come to this location we have found everything we needed like poster boards, clay, glitter, etc. Since my wife signed us up for the Michael's email club, we tend to get special coupons that we can access through our phones by them scanning the bar code. We save anywhere from 20 to 40 percent certain items. Sometimes we get a bogo free coupon and its usually unlimited so that equates to 50 percent each item! Service is outstanding for if they ever see you just standing there looking dazed and confused, they actually approach you and make sure to lead you in the direction of the whatever it is that you are looking for. They also do a good job of keeping the entire clean and organized which is not an easy thing to do for the store itself is pretty big. So when it comes to arts and crafts, Michaels is the first place we think of going and in most cases, we come home with just about everything we need. I like this Michaels. I don't come in every week, or even every month, but when I do need something (mostly jewelry making supplies) they have it. They also have a nice variety of kids activities- coloring books, various arts and crafts, clay, etc. Check their website for coupons! I'm not much of an arts and crafts shopper, but the experience I had at this michaels was one of the best retail experiences I've had in a long time. The store was decently busy and I was more or less lost. I was approached by the manager Justin. I was rambling about everything I wanted, or thought I needed. He had me describe my project( making a necklace for EDC) then he led me towards which glue and accessories he thought was best. He advised me well and even helped me start on it. I love Michael's craft store; I've been there several times to purchase necessities for various crafts; I've purchased a white board there (it was a great buy with the 30-40% coupon you can load from your smartphone), fake flowers for a desk I'd purchased, frames, paint, you name it. The only defective product I've ever purchased there was the white board which was severely warped (not that I could tell when I was purchasing it- but when I went to put it up on the wall- it wouldn't mount). This store seems smaller than other Michael's because the aisles are always packed with open boxes and staff members stocking the shelves. This can make it difficult to navigate, especially for people with mobility issues, but it also means that the store always has new things. I find that the people here are more helpful than they are at the Centennial branch of the store. Sometimes I'll drive out of my way to visit this store instead of another. The people who work here seem interested in crafts and that makes a difference in how they respond to customers. Sure, Centennial has fancier/newer shelving and more scrap booking stuff, but whenever I go there I feel like I'm harassing the staff, or they're harassing me. At the Northtown Michael's, even if they don't understand what you are talking about ("you know, the gooey stinky stuff that etches glass") they'll try to translate and do their best to figure out how to help you. The framing department is particularly helpful. Instead of trying to encourage you to buy glass you can't afford, they will work to stay in your budget. And for ready made frames they will open them and frame your artwork without charging. I'm a clutz, and I've broken glass for a couple of frames, so this is a big deal for me. read more

I got an online order and picked it up from the store. The guy who gave me my order was super nice, but that was the only good thing. I got four trays instead of six and still got charged for them which isn't a big deal, but when I called about it, the lady on the phone, Diana, hung up on me mid sentence and didn't answer my other phone calls until I called from another phone. I had to drive back to the store which was 30 minutes away because it was the only one that had the trays available. She could have told me while I was on the phone that they didn't have the other two trays and that the money would be refunded instead of having me drive all the way back when I told her how far the store was. MICHAELS IS VERY UNINTERESTED IN HELPING ME AND WILL NOT REFUND ME. I have integrity, which is something a lot of others don't, so I asked for proof that the package was even delivered and they cannot provide it other than the door dash driver saying it was delivered. My order was over 100 dollars and I did not receive a single penny refund or anything in my order. As we all know during the COVID-19 has many non essential stores closed. So i needed items and did pick up curbside but ordering online. It's posted that if you order before 3:00pm you can pick up the same day. They close at 6pm and they didn't have my order ready at all and i ordered at 1pm. I live in Henderson and have to drive to North Las Vegas just to get to the store. When i called they told me it wasn't ready and it will be tomorrow! Why say you can have it same day if before a certain time?! I couldn't call customer service because everything is via chat which isn't even a live person just a damn robot named Matt ! Walking in I was greeted by a friendly cashier and I noticed right away that this location wasn't very big. I came in looking for some paper crafting supplies and the selection was good enough. I did appreciate that they carry a lot of Wilton products because Hobby Lobby is doing away with Wilton stuff and carrying their own Sunny Side brand which is OK for tips and pastry bags, but the cake pans aren't as good quality as the Wilton ones. The fact that here they still have such a nice selection of Wilton products is the main reason why I'd come back here over Hobby Lobby for cake decorating pans and supplies, plus the 40% coupon (get coupon from e-mail or just pull it up on your phone from their website) is always a bonus when buying a cake pan set that's $50 and up. They have a classroom here that you can see as you are walking in towards your left and offer different classes just ask the cashier about what's currently being offered. While this location isn't the biggest it does offer enough of what I am generally looking for. read more

I called ahead to check stock and was put on hold. At the 30 min mark i drove down there they were out on the shelf so i asked and the kid said oh yeah i transferred that call and thought someone else would pick it up. I left the call on hold and hung up about the 50 min mark. I go to leave and the kid begind the counter says "fetch" i turn to go back in and make him call the other store and wait the manager came up and called the other store so i drove there. I usually come here for all my holiday crafts and I love that they have coupons online to print out, so shopping here and making things myself is wayyyy cheap. When I feel like being creative or when I need picture frames, I come here. I come here for just about anything craft-wise before I go other places. Although I do agree with some reviews that it seems like the old Michaels was bigger than this one, but its also more organize and well stocked. read more
