Yesterday I had a good experience checking out, but fair experience finding what I wanted in the store. I needed patches for shirts that had holes, and I wanted to cover them decoratively. The woman in the aisles told me they had none in the store. When I told her that I found them on line, she said, "You should have called." Direct and to the point. She kept working. I browsed the aisles, and found some items I needed, and got in line to pay. While waiting, I decided to buy face covers with my 50% off coupon - $9.99 instead of $19.99. Cashier was friendly and efficient. Today, Raven helped me get a refund for the face covers. The material was too thin and too small for Husband. Raven was polite, efficient, and I knew she was smiling behind her face mask. I was in and out in record time. The store is clean, well laid out, has great inventory, and most of the staff are a joy. All wore masks, and stickers on the floor helped check outs maintain social distancing. I will continue to patronize this location - especially for Raven! read more

This particular Michael's isn't that big. They had some good sales going on. I always like Michael's because you can find everything you need for any craft plus more. They always have a coupon for most stuff and I really like they appreciate the Military and give us a discount. Although you can only use one couple at a time. I bought a cricut maker and am so excited to use it. They had a lot of the supplies for the machine on sale which is a big plus. Supplies and the machine are not cheap but I hope to make some money one I learn how to use it. read more

They have almost everything you could want when it comes to crafting. I went on this trip for some tracing and transfer paper. I was happy to find that they had both and a coupon that I could use for my purchase. I asked an associate where things where and both times I talked with them they were friendly and kind. I know the holidays have just passed- but this store was a wee bit messy. I also know retail stores tend to cut hours right after holidays- so maybe that's why it was on the trashed side. I lapped the store looking for fine arts to pick up paint- it was on sale and it did not matter that I was out of town! I found they had most colors in stock~ thank the Gods! I threw over 30 tubes of paint in the cart and headed up tot he cashiers~ checking out was interesting, their scanning guns were only scanning every four or five clicks! I am watching the poor woman squeeze the trigger over and over again. My kids thought I was over charged- like she clicked it a few extra times. There was no keeping track she was trying to scan so fast. I could've counted the tubes and compared the receipt- but I was honestly lazy- I think there were 2 tubes extra I paid for- but who knows. It wasn't worth the aggravation to count and then wait in line again to fix it. read more

This is not a store that I typically browser through. I usually dash in and out for a specific item. Today, I needed some Christmas ornament stands. This store is huge and luckily the stands were right up front. As I looked around, I noticed a lot of '50% Off' signs. I am certainly not immune to the pull of a good sale. So, I moseyed over to the Christmas doodad and ornament section and started filling my cart with boxes of mid-century styled glass ornaments. As of today, there was quite a good selection to choose from but I bet their Christmas inventory won't last long. Despite the chaos and bedlam associated with 50% Off Sales, the store was neat and orderly. I am not a very 'crafty' person but Michael's is my go to place for any hobby or craft items that I may need. read more

I went there today to pick up some art supplies and ran into a couple of problems. 1. The lady working on the register didn't say the register was ready, she just stared at me till I walked up, after this I was being very kind and joking, she was very blunt and rude, I work in customer service and I know what it's like to have a bad day but you shouldn't show it when dealing with customers. 2. I had intentions so buy a set of watercolors that she forgot to put in the bag so now I have to drive all the way back. This is not my first bad experience here. Around Christmas time I was looking for a specific paint, the lady at the store was very rude saying I should know what I was looking for and it was pretty much my fault that I didn't know what I needed, the least she could have done was gotten one of her associates that knew a little more about paint. Just shows the management here isn't well and the customer service is also not very good. I know next time that I have to be very cautious, and that I'll have to do lots of research and figure things out on my own because the workers there were practically useless. read more

My experiences with Michaels have been varied at times, but it's a great place to receive supplies that fulfill both the professional needs or those of the occasional shopper. Moreover, this store on Gulf to Bay has handled "urges" and creativity be they drawing, design and art to keep the hobbiest satisfied while keeping the less creative returning for repeat business at this dealership including a growing in mindset and experience. Notwithstanding, prices have gone up, but the movement is valid to keep store shelves ready for Michael's highly attractive customer base. What Michael's is selling, is top-end merchandise. There are needs for painting, framing and goods that no other concern offers. Moreover, Michael's runs generous coupon discounts weekly, can substantially reduce final prices at the register. Furthermore, I want to talk about today a Michael's staff member, Don C, Assistant General Store Manager at Clearwater Mall. I spend a large portion of my income on hobby work in retirement that gives my life realism, while building to give to friends in the neighborhood and church fellow-worshippers. Over the years it has been exhilarating to understand the world from a creative artist point of view and encourages many people who have crossed my path including today, to discuss many art fields. As a student and a volunteer St Petersburg College, I have learned a new host of skills to tie into my craft work. Don C. gave me a leap for joy, as Michael's week after week failed to give renewed supplies of sand for my growing sand art projects. Nevertheless, Don quickly lead me to another part of the store of which housed sand for display----and there they were! canisters and canisters of fresh colored sand which I am about to use in my grandchildrens' birthday celebration. Thanks Don... Thanks Michael's... I am bringing you a lot of young kids who just might "catch on" to the happy time at sand art. read more

This store has a huge inventory compared to others on US 19! I spoke to one of the staff who also teaches jewelry making. She was so helpful in sharing some of her techniques. Everyone is friendly here and craft classes are available. Great location! read more

I am here regularly for items such as Copic Markers, Strathmore Drawing Pads and Canvases. They have a great selection and AMAZING deals. Copic are usually 'buy one get one half off,' (which is great considering the darn things are $8 a pop)and pads and canvases are usually anywhere from 40-60% off. When compared to other crafts stores, such as Jo-Anns, this place can't be beat. Plus, forgive my hyperbole, they have about a million coupons to save you even more money! read more

Lots of great stuff here! But the staff are fairly unprofessional. The first staff member that my wife and I asked for help wouldn't leave her station to show us where to look for our stuff, but insisted it was "just over there". Our checkout lady was chewing gum noisily and clearly bored with her job. read more

This is in a convenient location, to where I can stop by while out and about for other things. Much like some of its neighboring businesses, it is understaffed and damn near impossible to get an employee to help you on the floor. After walking around the store three full times without finding an employee, I got in the register line to ask a question, just to get misdirected, then have to wait all over again in the register line in order to pay. read more

I've been in this store multiple times. Never greeted, never been asked "do you need anything ?" "Can I help you with anything ?". Nada. Which is rude since I am a paying customer. I went in today looking for paper and asked an employee if she had anything within the size I was looking for. She said "I only have 12x12. Construction paper would be the closest thing to the size you are looking for". I asked what isle and she just pointed , didn't even walk me to the specific area. About 10 min pass and I saw her and asked where this paper was, then she responded with "I didn't say we had that specific size". I wasn't asking about the size I was looking for but only the construction paper that could've been the closest thing. I really don't like coming here, just because the employees are never friendly but sometimes I like to be crafty. I had better service at the dollar tree in Clearwater mall than I did here. read more
