I can not speak highly enough of Michael or the work he does!!!! I brought my favorite pair of Gucci boots in due to the zipper on the back popping open. I had initially brought them to Gucci and had them sent out and upon them returning them to me, they were still broken. Gucci told me they couldn't be repaired and they could give me store credit. I love these boots and wanted them repaired. I brought them into Michael and he suggested replacing the entire zipper. I was obviously a little nervous but I am SOOOO happy I had Michael do the repair. He replaced the entire zipper and was able to put the original Gucci tab onto the new zipper. Found this little place in the corner of the Levittown shopping strip. I had some slip on shoes that the liners were coming off of every time I slipped my feet into them. For 5 dollars, charming Michael with his Russian accent, glued them in place for me. He told me that he has been there for 17 years and was born into it as his father before him had been a shoe maker - rather different from a shoe repair man, in the days where shoes were made custom to the feet, as today it just would be an expensive proposition. He has the usual things on the shelf, shoe laces of cotton or leather strings and various brickerback items for shoes for sale. These craftsman have become somewhat of a dying art. Some places I have gone are better than others and admittedly sometimes the shoes can be more to fix than to buy another pair. I brought the bag to a tailor (located in a dry cleaner place in Hicksville) and they said they would not be able to repair the bag with their machine. They referred me to Michael's. I brought my bag in late Wednesday afternoon. Michael looked at my bag and said he could fix it for $20.00. He told me I could pick it up Friday. This place is a gem. It's so tiny, it's amazing that Michael can work in there, but believe me he is great. He has shortened pocketbook straps, fixed shoes, cleaned shoes and bags, and my personal favorite, shortened the heels of a couple of pairs of shoes for me. No job is too big or small, and he will honestly tell you whether the item is worth fixing. He charges VERY little for most of his work, and when I mention that his prices are low, he always says "what, you want me to charge you more?" He also has watch batteries and key cutting services. Very helpful and did an excellent job! I brought in a pair of boots that I wore completely through the heels. To put it into perspective the boots were black and the heels were so worn down/through that you could see the white plastic skeleton underneath where the heel rubber once was. Michael was able to completely repair the heels of my boots without having to loose the metal details on the sides of each heel. He even polished the leather boots to make the boots as a whole look brand new, and I've had these boots for over a year and wore them consistently so you could imagine how the age showed! They now look beautiful and I can definitely see getting at least another year out of these boots now if not more! :) I would 100% recommend! read more

The Steve Madden wedges I brought in started to have a mouth on the heel so he fixed the back and put some nails in for added support on the heel. I came to Michael with a pair of my favorite Jimmy Choos wanting to have the heel cut a little bit because it was too high for me to walk on. I came in thinking that he would tell me what every other shoe maker told me that it was impossible to cut a heel. However, he told me that he can do it with no problem. I came in on a Monday and he told me that he would have my shoes ready on Thursday and true to his word I came on Thursday morning and my shoes were ready.
