He came home from the office, settled into the chair across from me, crossed his legs--and suddenly his shoes began telling their story. The soles were practically crying for mercy, while the uppers looked like they had been through a long, hard negotiation with the sidewalk. He mentioned he'd been meaning to go shoe shopping, but hated the thought of giving up the comfort he'd earned breaking these shoes in. That's when I reminded him about Augie's Shoe Repair--the place that brought two pairs of my own "beyond saving" shoes back from the brink. Super wife to the rescue. True to form, Augie worked his magic again. The shoes came back looking remarkably close to brand new. Of course, the soles and heels were replaced as requested, but he didn't stop there. The uppers were refinished, refreshed, reinforced, polished, and even finished off with new laces. It was less shoe repair and more shoe revival. Augie's pride in his craft shows in every detail.
