Absolutely yes I recommend this Cobbler. Sandy is a craftsman not just a shoe repair guy. He also is transparent and fair. While I choose not to get the leather sneakers done, it is because they are so worn that cost wise it was made clear the proper work that would need to go into fixing them outweigh the cost of buying a new pair, regardless of the fact that the newer made shoes just arent as well made today. I just want to say how amazing my experience was at Sandy's shoe repair. I brought a very vintage probably over year old lv tote that was cracking and rotting in many places. The leather was completely trashed. It was in the back of my mother's closet for decades and not taken care of. I found this establishment by using Google and decided to see what they can do. After about 3 months of hard work, she's back home looking brand new ! I also had a pair of red bottoms that were repaired and they look fabulous. Truly a work of art . The owner of the shop is dedicated to his craft and does such an amazing job. I'm so happy with my bag. You can't tell it was once in trash condition . Horrible experience. Man has horrible professional skills. Requires Venmo for transactions, cannot pay cash or credit. Prices are exorbitant. Requires 50% upfront. Does not guarantee the work. If you lose your ticket he won't give your shoe back unless he writes down your name, license number, address, and DOB. Even though he had proof of Venmo payment with ticket number on the Venmo and he's video taping you. Called the police while I begged him to not write down all that personal information. When I grabbed my shoe he lied to the police saying I was trying to leave without paying, even though I was begging him to let me just pay for my shoe. Police came and said I have to comply with his store policy. I knew something was wrong when his prices were so high, his Venmo policy, and paying 50% upfront. Should have trusted my gut and never left my shoe. What a horrible experience and horrible man. He is also active on google trying to get negative reviews removed (see attached pictures). read more

I brought a pair of equestrian boots in to have two new zippers replaced. Took 4 weeks after telling me it would only be 2 weeks to fix. $375 to repair with $100 deposit. Picked up my boots and wore them for TWO rides. The zipper broke after two rides, they were not dirty or anything. The owner denied his work over and over again. Told me I went somewhere else in Syosset. Though there aren't many shoe repair shops in Syosset. Told me over and over again that he would never do work like this , there's no one else who works there so I must if had it done somewhere else. I could not find my receipt as they don't give you on. Just a ticket number. I found my receipt the same afternoon and went back to show the owner. Who went quiet and had nothing to say after he denied multiple times and how I was in the wrong. Told me he would fix him for $200 and take about 2 weeks. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a retailer or anyone selling something. Meanwhile the price is absolutely absurd. I highly don't recommend going to this shoe repair shop. read more

When my Ecco soles disintegrated (it's a thing. Google it.), I took them to Luis. He was upfront about what he would do to fix them, why he would do it, what to expect, my alternatives, and what it would cost. The consumate professional. He took them apart, added a midsole and replaced the outer soles. My super-comfortable Eccos are now actually better than new as they can now be easily re-soled. I have horrible feet! When I find a pair of shoes or boots that fit well, I don't give up easily. I brought my favorite 5+-year-old UGG lace-up winter boots into Sandy's because the heels were falling apart. I was holding the decorative sides on with a stapler! Not only did Sandy's restore the heels, they restored the leather upper part as well so the boots look almost new. It wasn't cheap, but for the craftsmanship involved, it was more than worth it to me. I highly recommend this reliable and talented shoemaker. read more

I brought in Chanel espadrilles to fix the back because they would not stay on my foot. He put a strong leather strip inside the back and now I can wear them easily, I also brought in Christian Louboutin boots and he refurbished them like new. I also had him put on a red vinyl cover on the sole of a new pair so the red doesn't wear out as soon as I walk in the street. He does great work on very fine shoes. read more

I was born and raised in Syosset, which is known for quality service at fair prices. If a business consistently provides little value, it is only a matter of time until they are forced to shut down. I can't understand how this couple has been here for so long. My wife took two pairs of new leather shoes in to get softened ($350 total value) ... they told her ( in very broken English) that shoe stretching would be $50 (insanely expensive for using technology created in the 1940s) and taking literally no worker's effort. The couple barely speaks English and has no manners. Made my wife go across the street to get $10 cash deposit (she just gave them $350 worth of shoes) ... spent $3 service charge just taking money out... gotta be kidding me. The place inside is a disaster with no organization ... I just don't see why people would go to them rather than the guy in Plainview (who charges much less). ... I made a big mistake. read more

DO NOT USE IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR SHOES RUINED!! I dropped off a pair of brand new, never worn shoes to be lightly (emphasis on lightly) stretched in the toe and explicitly said not to stretch them anywhere else. I received the shoes back basically ripped at the toe and had to stand there and watch him glue the shoe straps back into place. I let the glue set and hoped all would be well. I just tried them on a few days later and they completely destroyed my shoes. They are fully overstretched the heel - the spot I specifically told them NOT to stretch. These shoes are now completely unwearable and discontinued in stores so they cannot be replaced. This is an absolutely unacceptable business practice. Also I dropped them off in the box, and when I asked for my box back at pickup the guy argued with me for five minutes swearing I was wrong and that I didn't give him the box, and then sure enough chased me down the block with the found box 2 minutes later. So much for the customer is always right! As a final note they also happen to be extremely overpriced - so please, don't pay to have your shoes destroyed. read more

I've been using this shoe repair for a number of years. I've always been happy with the work that's done. This time around, I was not happy. I felt the soles put on, while aesthetically pleasing, did not provide the grip I desired. Of course, I took a look on Yelp and feared the worst. I went back to the repair store, and I was pleasantly surprised. Both of the owners took the time to talk to me (after closing) and explained the work that was done. They treated me respectfully, and it was clear both take great pride in what they do. In addition, they are knowledgeable about their products etc. They offered to redo the sole so that I would be happy with it. I needed it by the next morning (nothing like waiting until the last minute) and true to their word, my shoes were ready. I am happy with the finished result. About the prices, I called another shoe repair to see if it would be cheaper. It was the same price. read more

Just moved in the town of Oyster bay and this was the only shoe repair place near by. I took three pairs of shoes and two of them needed to be glued and the third pair was a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes that needed a half red rubber sole. He charged me $150.00 just for glue and a half rubber red sole. On top of this place being extremely over priced the guy was obnoxiously rude and only accepts cash. When I asked about the price being so high he basically said that since I spent a lot on my shoes I should't complain about the price and if I didn't like the price I was more than welcome to leave. I don't know why I decided to leave my shoes with this guy but I did and when I picked them up the quality of work was TERRIBLE! He didn't glue my shoes correctly leaving open spaces in part of the shoes and the red rubber sole was also a messy job leaving a mark between the leather sole and the red rubber. Looks like he cut it with a knife and scratched the other side of the red leather sole which looks terrible. I will never go back to this place! read more

I get all my shoes fixed in Manhattan where they are priced fairly and appreciate their customers. It is a complete rip off!! Ask Lina at Pamper Cleaner if she can fix your zipper and shell charge you $5 as opposed to $25 which was 1/2 the price of my boots. I will tell everyone in town to just buy new shoes. read more
