I recently brought him a vintage Louis Vuitton bag that had ripped tabs (opps, should have taken a 'before' photo) to see if he could replace them. He did, and they look great. He also conditioned my bag, so it looks way better than had he just replaced the tabs. They leather was REALLY dry beforehand, and it really looks great and much more even after going to him. I found him thanks to Yelp, and noticed he was local to my home and quickly reached out regarding my unfavorable damage to my vintage LV wallet. This 2004 coin purse wallet combo has seen better days, and when my wallet was rejected for repairs from the original source, I didn't want to give up on it. Paul asked me to send pictures of the damages so he could quote me properly due to the amount of work involved. We agreed on a price and even the amount I had to leave for deposit wasn't an issue. He wanted to make sure that I would trust his judgement and value his work. Paul said to give him a week and he delivered it to me in 5 days time! Be sure to always ask him what the store hours are, as he unfortunately is experiencing flood damages to his work space. How he was still able to fix this wallet for me in such dire conditions, I'll never know. He's chatty and friendly, and could use more foot traffic as this kind of work is clearly dying in the industry. I got to this spot for the first time on a Thursday at 2:30pm during regular hours according to the sign, but the metal gate was down and appeared to be closed. The place looked "sketchy." However, there was a door next to the gate opened and a guy (middle-aged, heavy-set Caucasian man) saw me with my daughter and asked if I needed any help. I asked if he worked there and if the shoe repair shop was open. He said yes but he wouldn't let me inside the shop and honestly it looked like a mess. He said to show him my shoes and tell him what I needed to be fixed outside. This was reason #2 to be sketchy. I showed him one of the pairs I brought (a pair of sling-back leather heals) and needed the heals to be replaced. He said $46! I told him he was over charging me. He said he is giving me that price because I'm a new customer. I said why would you over charge me because I'm a new customer? .... Third sketchy reason to walk away. I said no thanks and put my heals back in my bag and walked away. He then yelled "you're a bitch" at me and my daughter as we walked away. I will not put up with unprofessional, disrespectful, and sketchy behavior from anyone.
