A nice store! I was so excited to walk in and see Halloween/Fall arrangements out! Heads up, all of their spring/summer decor is 70% off RIGHT NOW! I had asked for assistance to find adhesive remover and they were sold out of every kind, but one! So, I'm looking forward to trying out this one they did have and seeing how it works. I love this Michaels! It is clean and everyone is always friendly. It is very rare that I can't find what I went in for and then a few extras. The only downside for this store is the custom framing department is large and seems to take up allot more space then it needs causing the main aisles to get crowded with rolling shelves and sales items. read more

I apparently wrote my review on a CLOSED location that moved from another area of Westminster to this location in the Town Center Area. So what's up with the framing scam?? First off, I know that framing is expensive, so I try to go when they have the semi-annual frame sale. We went over two weeks ago and I had a large piece, and KK had an awkwardly sized piece as well. I picked out a frame and mat, and without flinching, the girl working quoted me $385 (supposedly 80% off the normal price). So I went back to the drawing board and ended with something near $200 (about $60 more than I planned). KK also settled at nearly $200. Fast forward. So we picked up our orders over the weekend. The sale was over, so I thought that I would have a little fun and reality test the situation. I have an exact duplicate piece the one that KK had done. I asked what it would cost under the "new" (non-sale) price to have the exact duplicate made. Guess what? It would have been $20 cheaper NOT ON SALE. My only conclusion is that they jack their prices during the sale?? Anybody else have this happen to them? I would love to hear similar stories or any better framing alternatives. I have to admit, that the work was good, but there must be some better, more honest, and affordable framing shop. read more

Michael's always has a great selection of items for crafting, as well as gifts, baking items, frames, etc. I can almost always guarantee a coupon for an even better deal. I think their items are decent quality. I am wearing a pair of Xmas socks I bought from there. A 3 pack was $6 and I had a coupon for 50% a regular price item. It was awesome. They had an additional coupon for even more off the total purchase. When it comes to baskets and holiday knick knacks or décor, Michaels is my top choice. read more

Went in today to get help with framing. Was disappointed with the service I received from a framing employee with purple/reddish dyed hair. She was condescending and rude as I was explaining the coupon I wanted to use. She abruptly interrupted me and said "it doesn't work on clearance". When I read it to her she also interrupted and said "read the fine print" and I did--there was no mention of not being able to use it on clearance. She then turned her computer monitor towards me and said "look, there's nowhere I can use that coupon". I was extremely upset and she sensed it and backed down a bit trying to change her tone. I ended up leaving the store without purchasing anything. Will not return. read more

First I'd like to say I have never felt so rushed at home. I love micheals and it's not like sometimes. It's a lot of love. I have recently come to this store and I've been rushed. I have never felt this way. I'm coming back but like a lil hurt. Also may I ask what's up with spooky town this year? Where's the pizzazz I'm truly confused. Even one star is too generous for this store and it can be completely blamed on the ignorant store manager. I went in today to buy a piece of mat board, in-stock, uncut for a class I am teaching later this week to a group of photographers on how to prepare double mats. As always, I brought in a printed coupon (15%) to soften the blow of Michael's ridiculous prices. I have used coupons for years upon years to buy mat board from this store and other Michael's locations across the northern and western Denver 'burbs. Store manager informed me that I couldn't use that coupon to purchase such an item from the framing dept. WTF? Really? She said that has always been their policy. This wasn't a custom framing order, merely a piece of cardboard, not trimmed nor cut in any way. Something smells rotten in Westminster, CO. She did accept it finally, though made it clear to me (and a nearby customer) that the employees where only accepting my coupons under the table and that they "knew better." The implication that she thought they were cheating was blatantly obvious and I felt very sorry for those poor associates having to work for that person. Nuff said though I won't step foot in another Michael's again and will advise my network of camera club, Adobe and MeetUp peeps to stay away from the likes of Michael's. read more

Everyone at Michaels is very helpful. There is one woman who works there who says she just loves her job, which is great. I don't know her name, but she has a new grandchild or great grandchild. I normally shop at the Thornton location, where I've never had an issue, but this is the second time I've come to the Walnut Creek location in less than a year and both times I had a terrible experience. This last visit occurred on 9/20/17. I picked up a few things to use with the 40% off coupon I received the last time I shopped at a Micheals. One of things I went in to buy were white chalk marker pens. I picked up a 2 pack for $7.99 and as I was making my way to the register I noticed a box of white chalk markers (about 20-30 of them inside the box) marked for $1. I thought it might be too good to be true but since there were so many I thought maybe there was excess that you guys were trying to get rid of. Anyway I put the 2 pack back, picked up 2 pens, and proceeded to checkout. They pens rang up $4 each so I asked the cashier about it since I saw them for a $1 and he deferred to the lady next to him (older lady with grey hair). He explained that I said they were marked for $1 and were ringing up $4. She looks at the pens and laughs and condescendingly says "yeah, these aren't $1." So I replied that there is a box filled with them right before you get in line, so she lets out this huge sigh and walks over to the box and says with an attitude, "I don't know who put these here but these aren't $1" and takes them out of the box and throws them behind the register. I was fine with paying $4 for them, and I didn't want to be "that customer," but as someone who worked in retail for years knows...if it's marked for a certain price that's what the customer gets it for until it's corrected. But the next thing I know she tells the cashier to "just give them to her" which to me sounded like I was getting them for $1. So now he's very flustered, and seemed new there & like he had no idea what he was doing, and puts in 30% off. So I ask "what's the 30% off for?" And he tells me he can't change them to $1 so that's what he gave me a discount instead...which made them $2.80 not a $1. And it only took it off of one item (not even the markers), not each maker...But again, I didn't want to be that person. So I let it go and handed over my 40% off coupon. He scans it and it doesn't work (shocker) so once again he calls the lady over to the register and she looks at the screen and says to m, "he already gave you 30% off for the pens (like they were doing me a favor), you can't have more than one coupon added" and I say "I thought I was getting the pens for $1, I didn't ask for 30% off" then she says they can't alter the price of the products (which I have a very hard time believing), and tells me once again they can't do both discounts. So I try to calmly explain that I'd rather have the 40% off because that's what I walked in with and was the whole reason I came in. I was now receiving a lesser discount for an issue that wasn't my fault. But she cut me off mid sentence telling they can't do both, that I can't have 70% off (which is NOT what I was asking for) and then she proceeds to start ringing someone else up. Not once during this exchange did she even once look directly at me. Everywhere but, but never made eye contact with me and then she just dismissed me. So now I'm so upset, I'm practically shaking. I was being treated so rudely and I was just trying to be agreeable and explain the situation from my point of view and she shut me down. The poor kid caught in the middle of this was not sure what to do. So I try reasoning with him and ask him to remove the 30% off and just give me my 40% coupon instead, we'll she overheard me and yells "just void the whole transaction and ring them up separately since she needs to use both coupons!" That was it. I was done. I told him not to bother & to just hit total so I can run my card and take my things. I told him as loudly as I could for her to hear that it wasn't that serious. I left extremely rattled by the entire experience. I will never and I mean NEVER shop at this location again. That lady is miserable and not somebody who should be dealing with the public, let alone be paid to do so when there are so many people out there in desperate need of a job. I ended up returning one of the markers at the Thornton location, because I was so annoyed by what happened I decided I only needed the one. I thought about calling the manager but figured nothing would be done about this employee regardless so I'd rather post a review and urge people to take their hard earned money elsewhere. I highly doubt this was her first time being rude to someone, so I'd hate to think other customers are being treated this poorly by her. I also hate to think she was training that younger guy because I wouldn't want him think that's acceptable behavior when dealing with guests. read more
