This Michaels location seriously needs to address its restroom situation. It seems like every time I visit, the customer restrooms are either closed or marked "out of service." At this point, it feels less like an occasional maintenance issue and more like a recurring problem that management has chosen not to fix. Customers should not have to leave the store to find a restroom while shopping. Providing clean, accessible restrooms is a basic expectation for any retail business. If the restrooms are constantly unavailable, management should be transparent about why and take the necessary steps to permanently resolve the issue. Overall, they have a great selection. And a good value for the money. This review is for their mobile ordering service. I clicked on drive up because I didn't wanna have to get out of my car so I clicked two door car, which is what I drove and then then asked for the color so I hit blue in their system. This comes up as a sedan. Well, I'm sorry to the person that was trying to help me if the car literally has to say sedan on it because any two or four-door car that's like lower to the ground is a sedan style car. They need to figure out how to describe the car is better in their system. Anyway, I had to go inside after waiting 10 minutes and the person that helped me had the audacity to say well I was outside and I didn't see any blue sedan and I'm like I clicked on two Door because that was the closest thing to my car showed her the order on how I did it showed her my car which was plain sight in front of the door. So to her face, I said if you had really been outside, you would've seen it and you would've seen me waiting in my car. You should've come up to me asking me if I was waiting and you didn't bother, which tells me you weren't even outside to begin with These people have become really lazy with Customer Service and they really don't care enough to really help the person who really would love to shop there. I placed a mobile order and drove 40 minutes to this location because they had a specific item I needed. When I arrived, Braun told me my order had already been picked up -- which made no sense because I was there to get it. After waiting about 15 minutes while they "looked into it," I asked for an update and was told that someone must have grabbed it by mistake. When I asked how that could even happen, Braun said their pickup lockers operate on a "trust system" with customers -- meaning anyone can just take an order that isn't theirs. That's completely unacceptable. I paid for my item, received a confirmation that it was ready, and still left empty-handed with instructions to "call 1-800-Michaels." This location clearly has poor order security and customer service. Save yourself the time and frustration -- have your items shipped to your home instead of picking up here. read more

Even some of the permanent markers proved to be really permanent when my son marked up the back seat of my wifes new Trax with leather seats. First of all I love Michaels, but this location today did me wrong with customer service. The employee was ringing a customer so I decided to do self check-out. The employee finished ringing up the customer and then turn his attention to me. As I'm ringing my stuff out he continued to stay behind me the entire time until I was finished. He was watching me, and making me feel really uncomfortable. During the time I'm scanning my stuff there are three more customers are literally waiting to checkout, but the employee proceeds to tell them "I'll be right with you". The customers are literally looking at me and the employee like "WHAT THE HELL". I was shopping for Halloween decor with my two toddler daughters and it was just so uncomfortable. Walmart, Costco and amazon takes them back and charges or whatever for the customer. Michaels dose not. They leave you on you own to take care of it. Went in to Micheal's today because UPS redirected my package that needs a signature, it was around 8 pm and store was empty only a older woman cashier Abby at the front, I tell her I'm here to pick up my ups package and she had me looking at the wall of Micheal's online orders for 10 min I keep mentioning that it's UPS and she just seems confused doesn't know what she's doing. She finally opens up a cabinet right behind the register and bingo, dozens of packages, she asks me what the box looks like and I'm like how would I know I haven't even received it yet, and she seems annoyed that she has to do her job and scan through the boxes, finally she finds mine and on my phone ups instructed me to present my ID but Abby doesn't ask for it and tells me I'm free to go, I'm like ok? That was easy. As I'm walking down the parking lot to my car I hear Abby YELLING come back I forgot to scan you out!! I'm so annoyed at this point it's already taken 20 min for a simple pick up and she's acting like I'm the thief when I'm simply picking up my belonging. I go back in and she's struggling to log into UPS on her device like I actually feel bad but I can't do her job for her. Just imagine an old person using tech. And this whole time she had been calling Valerie for about 20 min and finally Valerie comes and finalizes the transaction how it should've been done from the beginning. I make a comment that Abby desperately needs further training and she replies "ohh that's real nice" like girl you are just embarrassing yourself, I don't have to nice to people that can't do their job and cause inconvenience to customers. I had previously spoken to Boris who is apparently a store manager at this location an be promised that my return of the circuit air 2 was not going to be a problem. I had purchased this via curbside and when I opened the box the product was pre owned and was not working. I called the store to speak to BORIS and said I wanted an exchange and he claimed no issue whatsoever! And that he would let his managers know of out conversation. I drive 30 mins to this location and the minute I walk in the manager PERLA ROSAS turns to face me and says "IS THAT A RETURN?!" Mind you she didn't even greet me the minute I stepped into the store. She looked at me like I'm a criminal. She had a disgusting tone towards me ! Istudered in disbelief of how she came at me and said I needed to see BORIS. She followed by saying he wasn't in the store and that she would call him and I had to wait. She said all these words to me like she was fed up and I had done nothing but walk into the store! She gets with him on the phone, hangs up and tells me that she cannot do my return because the box was open. Flat out. I look at her and said yes of course I need to open the box to make sure my product is working and it's not. I didn't want a refund I wanted an exchange. Which I had already spoken to BORIS about and he had said there will be no issue. She had the most disgusting attitude ever! She was rude she was arrogant and had NO customer service! I do not recommend this location to utilize as a UPS service pick-up location as I was ensured that they can handle UPS package pick-ups. I had provided this location with a Next Day Air shipment on Tuesday, 12/31/2025 and should have been delivered to my customer by Wednesday, 01/01/2025. My customer was extremely upset as they had taken time away from their family to install the product on New Years Day but never received the package. I spoke to Customer Service on Friday, 1/03/2025 to find out what the issue was. They confirmed that they were still sitting on the package at their location. They had mentioned it was because UPS did not pick up at their location due to the Holiday.. the Holiday was 12/31 or 01/01 if that was truly the case. However, as a CS Supervisor for my own company, I would not have allowed such a delay and take initiative to reach out to the UPS carrier if there were packages waiting to be picked up. Due to my customer being upset, this may effect our future business with this client. The Michael's customer service gave no apology and was very dry in handling the situation. I usually can't say enough awesome things about this Micheals location. Their register clerks are super sweet and have great customer service! Their stores are clean, organized, and I love their selections. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly (sometimes it is tough to find them though). However, usually my visits to this location go nicely, and I buy more than I came for Lol. My one and only suggestion is that the management team find a way to either open the bathrooms up again, or at least allow the elderly to use them. I understand that Covid-19 has been a health issue, and that we need to stay safe. So, if that is the case, provide customers with a warning that bathrooms are closed; a sign posted up front, and a message over the teleprompter as a reminder. A lot of elderly shop here, spend a lot of time going through isles, and loose track of time. I hope the management team will think of ways to show courtesy to their elderly customers, like my grandma and my mom. They come often, and they are usually happy customers, but today both my grandma and my mom had to rush out of the store to find a bathroom because they are now closed to customers at Micheal's. Only employees can use them? Yikes! Not a good thing to find out when your ready to use the restroom! Although, I should say their previous bathroom system wasn't working either. Especially since it is tough to find employees, and you need an employee to unlock the door. My suggestion would be; set up a code system that customers can use and change it daily, or have someone come clean the bathroom so that you can have the restrooms open and available at all times. Not sure if my review will matter, but I am hopeful Micheal's will read it and respond with a solution. The ironic parts is that this is a craft store full of creative ideas! The cutting table was way over at the framing dept. which was inconvenient. The young associate was helpful and was nice. The nightmare began when I proceeded to pay for my items, I was over charged for each yard, instead of the 5.99 per yard I was charged 7.99 and I was charged for 4 yards instead of my 3 yards .When I questioned the mistake the associate called the manager and even in front of me stated that I was the one confused!!? All along when trying to remedy this issue, I was made to feel that it was my mistake and I was trying to get away with something, the manager never went back to check prices on the wall , which was clearly posted at 5.99 per yard, even at that she insisted the price was 799. At this point I was ready to walk away, when their computer confirmed the correct pricing, not once was there an apology!! This Whittier Michaels has a great selection but would I go back? No Way! Went into the Whittier store at the Quad on 11/26/24 @ 7:00pm & the two girls that were working, one at the registers & one stocking were extremely rude. The registers were closed they said & only the self serve kiosk was operating. After scanning my items & trying to use my coupon, it would not adjust the price. Tried again, & after a second at temp I cancelled the order & went to the register. She did not attempt to help me & said the front registers were closed & that I had to use the kiosk. I informed her that I wanted to make the purchase & that if the kiosk wasn't working she needed to open her registry to ring me up. After many side eye rolls to the other employee, including a few rude laughs between them, she finally rang me up. I don't understand the disrespect & will never shop at this location again. Flash forward a few years later as fate deposited me gently in Whittier making this Michael my neighborhood hobby store. They suck. Point blank. As far as the store goes, it's huge, they had most of the things I was looking for my son's reading project and they are clean. However, DO NOT expect anyone to ask you if you need help, to greet you, to thank you, to smile, to look at you, or to interact with you. Most of their employees are kids who love being on their phones or messing around with each other. I've been looking for a nearby crafts store, besides the JoAnn's that's also in the area (but further down on Whittier Blvd). Located at "The Quad," this Michael's is neat and offers everything a crafty person wants! Service is fairly friendly here, but it does feel a lot more like a walmart: you see the clerks, but they just do their walk around, unless you ASK them for help. You have to make an effort to get their attention. BUT! If you know what you're going to get or open to browsing for new ideas for crafts, this is a good store.
