Wow! These ladies working there tonight (1/22/25) were so sweet! I literally walked in 5 minutes before their closing time at 7pm, and I thought they were going to be annoyed that I got there so late, BUT they were SO welcoming and friendly! I usually love this place but the service today was very bad. The worker was rude. He was an older white man with white hair. When I said I'll be buying a bag he had the nerve to ask me in a sassy tone "buy a bag of what?" as he's holding up the paper chocolate bag that he just said we can buy chocolates in. Then he keeps rushing me and asking what I want as I decide and I ask for a milk chocolate Bordeaux because I already knew I wanted that one. He then proceeds to say well you're looking at all the dark chocolate so you won't find what you want over there. I actually did want dark chocolates and almost all of the chocolate that I bought were dark chocolate so I don't know why he was so sassy. He seemed very dismissive and upset. My overall experience should have been a 9.7 however after 36-hours of allowing my brain to absorb this See's candle location here are the results: Rating 7.9/10 I walked into this location sometime after 3pm during the week, as I walk in I'm the only customer and a Man in his late 50's or perhaps early 60's named Walt greeting me as he was doing some type of inventory behind the counter..... As I walked up to the glass counter I expected Walt who looked like a Gentlemen from the 1930's continued on with his side job clearly signaling to me that as a customer I walked in at the wrong time because he was busy....... That's when an older lady in her mid 70's walked in behind me and I saw that as an opportunity to see if there was a 2nd See's employee and sure enough the Manager Jennifer walked out and was a Disney level personality actress and that's what I've always liked about See's..... It should feel like walking onto a movie set candle shop in the early 20th Century.... Jennifer was fantastic and it's clear why she's the manager at See's Confidential Note: Jennifer's hands and fingers nearly covered with tattoos, that will throw conservatives off and I understand, however, she's a true professional. I stopped by this See's Candies because I couldn't find the Panera and I also wanted to take a look around. This location is not a retail and quantity discount shop, so no discounts for education/union members. At the end, I did not purchase anything but I want to say that one of workers was very nice. She exuded customer service There were a few workers in the store, but one was especially friendly and asked if I needed any help, the other two, however, did not acknowledge me at all. Parking is right in front of the store. Due to COVID-19, the store does have a limit of customers in the store. This location seems to be about the same size in the Puente Hills Mall, so a bit on the smaller side but there is a pretty decent selection here. I do love how See's Candie's are consistent in quality throughout all their stores, at least in taste of candies so no need to worry about the quality and taste. read more

I loveeeee all of the covid precautions that were taking place. I happened to go while some new hires were in training and observed a senior member of staff explaining food allergies and that everything could have traces of nuts, she was very through, which was awesome to hear since most people don't take food allergies so seriously. The person doing the training was super helpful and attentive while we were looking at the boxes of Candy.... but the woman that assisted us at the counter was not. She was rude, acted annoyed(maybe she was having a bad day?) and very snippy when assisting us. There was nothing friendly or welcoming about her and it really took away from the entire experience. If I'm forking out money for overpriced chocolates I expect the other person to at least be polite and somewhat friendly. Several years ago See's promised all centenarians a complimentary 4 pound box. When we reached out this year to commemorate Mom's 100th birthday, they reduced the offer to a 2 pound box. When we provided sensitive information to prove her birthday, we heard nothing. Twice we applied, the birthday passed, and See's corporate office has never responded. I'm not surprised to see their stars so low when I jump on here. I just picked up my online order. What was supposed to be quick and easy turned into sad and disappointing. The guy who greeted us shouldn't even be a greeter at Walmart. (That's how unwelcoming he was.) as I was leaving my daughter wanted to try a sample of their maple brittle (since this is her favorite candy there) his response as we're (all) standing by the door is that they don't have any. He doesn't look, doesn't ask the girl behind the counter... just says no. I had to tell my little girl that we'll go to another store another day and maybe they'll be a bit nicer. We needed multiple grad hats, fathers day gifts, and "just because" candy. But his attitude changed that. We let a few rude comments go but he just seemed to get increasingly worse. Well, all through the Covid pandemic thanks to the special people at See's Candies of Whittwood Mall I was still able to keep up that tradition. A SPECIAL thanks to Walt. He never wavered, was always happy and the service was top notch. At 75 I carry a lifetime worth of this and that which has lowered my immunity considerably. Staff is really rude. I called ahead of time to make sure I could make a return of a sealed product since we over bought. They said yes. Then when we got to the location they wouldn't accept the returns. I told them I had called and The ladies were yelling about me asking who I talked to. I hadn't gotten a name so they just said, well sorry. I've never been to this location and definitely not coming back. Especially since I had to wait an hour to even get inside the store. Although it pretty much tasted like a white chocolate lemon flavor truffle- it was tasty. The real winner for me was their Strawberry Truffle. See's is one of the best chocolate places and of all the memories you have had when you were a child. I love going into the store it is such an old school feel to it. Also the ladies are always lovely and happy. My favorite chocolate from here is the polar bear caps. It is white chocolate with some peanuts and caramel. Those are delicious and my other favorite is the peanut brittle. I think you guys see a theme, I love peanuts !! :) If you have never been here, you should just go in and browse around and they will give you a free sample. If you don't want that sample you could ask for a specific chocolate and they will give it to you. I ordered my items through DoorDash for the valentine weekend. They are awesome because they had a DoorDash and order pick up line that was separate from the regular line, which would have taken forever. I appreciate when businesses do this. When someone decides to go buy expensive chocolate it's because they are celebrating something or are in a good mood and would like to sweeten up their day with candy. My husband and I stopped by See's and were greeted by miserable employees with attitude. Yelled at twice for having a service dog and told where to stand like children. In no way shape or form did these employees make the visit enjoyable or represent their company with pride. If you hate your job then quit and if your in a bad mood your guests should not be able to notice! Will never return to this location. Rude rude rude! My family has shopped at See's in the Whittwood for many, many decades. It's been our go-to candy store and we've easily spent several thousands of dollars there for all occasions. A few months ago I stopped at the La Habra store and it was a joke compared to the Whittwood (or so I thought). I visited this See's yesterday afternoon and the employee by the name of WALT (male/middle-aged/peroxide hair and goatee) was one of the most rude people I have ever encountered. I asked him if they had any Father's Day sticker or band to put around the $55 box of candy I was purchasing. He told me that See's doesn't make bands for 2 lb boxes and he's never heard of any sticker. He took joy in telling me that and his tone of voice and condescending attitude was shocking. He offered nothing to decorate the plain white paper. He was more interested in giving me a card to purchase more candy. There was no thank you and he was gleeful in telling me he couldn't help me. Came here for a simple 1 pound box of two different chocolates. After a long wait I placed my order. I told the counter person I had a gift certificate for a one pound box. I asked to stay under the amount and not go over so I would have no out of pocket cost. Twice I was told she would have to come in right on one pound in order for me to have no out of pocket cost. I told her I didn't want to charge any overage and to please stay under. The representative said I'd have to pay the extra amount. To limit the embarrassment placed on me while in line I relented. I called before I came. The person I spoke to is Debbie very nice and helpful. It's how I found See s candy shop in whitwood mall. I came to buy several boxes of candies to bring to Philadelphia. Suzanne was helpful and answered my questions regarding allergies to peanuts . Do you know that the cannery has a trace of pine nuts and peanuts and of course eggs so that means the chocolates has some trace of those ingredients . So if you have allergens to those beware you may have allergic reactions to the See s chocolates. Anyway, As usual See s will always be expensive. And it's okay, I don't fancy it that much.
