Attended a Cornell Alumni event here the other day...and I should have realized.there would be a connection, as THE Michael is Michael Klauber, a graduate of the world renowned Cornell Hotel Administration program..... The venue is great...floor to ceiling shelves of liquor, wine, great ambiance and beautifully set tables awaited us for a wine tasting given by another Cornellian, Professor Cheryl Stanley. The food pairings were delicious, and the staff attentive and professional. Their wine selection offered for sale was numerous and fairly priced. Looking forward to more events. read more

I have bought several reds there and they all taste bad. Almost like they had a power failure and woke what bad !

Attended a wine tasting here; nice crowd and selection. We started with champagne and sampled 3 whites and three reds. Two small platters were served to eat with each color wine. Michael's has an extensive wine cellar and passes the savings on to his customers. I just wish the tapas were a bit more substantial. Overall, a nice experience that we will indulge in again. One wine I ordered they were out of so I'll have to return to retrieve it. Overall, worth the money and we met some nice people as well. read more

We recently held an event at Michael's Wine Cellar. The care and attention offered to us in planning, preparation, and execution were exceptional. From planning of the menu, by director Phil Mancini, to choosing of wines, to care given to our guests by Kimberly and Joe, things could not have done gone better. Additionally, you can't beat the decor with the shelves full of wine bottles, lit by numerous tea light candles all around the room. Called and talked to Nancy about a styrofoam wine shipping box. She said they had a few of them for sale for sale $5. I asked to check stock and she assured me that they had plenty as I told her I was driving 45 minutes to there location. When I get to the shop they tell me Nancy is not here and the manager who will not give me her name says they don't have styrofoam shipping boxes and never have. As I told her that I literally just got off the phone with Nancy and drove straight there she just kept giving me attitude. As I was walking out she said she have another type of shipping box that was just a cardboard box and says she could sell me them each for $20. No impressed with this place at all. read more

My family used Michael's On East to host the rehearsal dinner for my brother's wedding a few weeks ago. Michael's was also being used for catering the wedding. To begin with the rehearsal dinner, I cannot say enough good things about it. There had been thunderstorms and tornado warnings all day, yet they were prepared for us at 5:30 on the dot. The wine cellar was a gorgeous setting for the event. The food was delicious and so filling. The service was beyond incredible. My 3 year old cousin was there, and they went out of their way to accommodate him- bringing him chicken fingers and plenty of apple juice, and even offering to make him a different dessert that my aunt could bring back for him to eat later since he fell asleep during our meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and the whole experience made for a wonderful rehearsal dinner. The catering at the wedding was just as good, and we have family members still talking about their lobster macaroni and cheese! We will definitely be using Michael's for any future events we may have. read more

I wanted to give my dad a scotch tasting for his 70th birthday. Jeffrey at Michael's Wine Cellar selected 4 very different scotches and had them sitting with descriptions at each of our place settings when we arrived. It was so fun to try them before and during dinner. And the dinner was exceptional! read more

Horrible -Disappointing-Over priced. Please don't believe the hype! I planned my Dads 90th birthday party for months and hired Michael's Catering. They have a reputation for being the best they are NOT. The linens and chairs were shabby-beat up looking and just old. The $300 cake was so unattractive, it looked like a 3 year old tried to decorate it. I ordered Speciality drinks which turned out to be Vodka and Cheap cranberry juice-Real inventive?! I don't think so. The appetizers should have been re named to the un-appetizers. They were a greasy and looked like they just came out of a microwave. Maybe Micheal's has been in business for too long and have lost their edge-and enthusiasm for catering. I will not have another chance to celebrate my Dads 90th. They failed me and my family and it was so expensive. They did give us a bit of a discount when I went to settle the bill. read more

Went there on a Tues. night. My elderly aunt loves to go there for her "rob roy" drink which is usually out standing. The whole evening disappointing. Her drink when back twice and still not right. It took 1 1/2 hr. for dinner to arrive then it was just OK Toffee pudding with ice cream came as curded brown sugar and very melted ice cream. At that point there was no sending it back. For the 4 of us the bill was $437 plus the tip which was as small as the server was SLOW. read more
