Mark decided to take it upon himself and change my appointment day. We scheduled for a Friday (on 3 way!) and he's insistent it was scheduled Monday (it wasn't). I tried to be flexible and I told him "if the estimate has to be Friday and the work starts Monday that's ok" His response: "I'm not storing your car here all weekend!!! (A paying customer). As if being involved in an accident isn't stressful enough be prepared for them to add to it - Casey's absolutely doesn't alleviate and just adds to the stress. Steer clear!!!! Fast forward one day. Spoke with the insurance representative today to let her know I'm going to be seeking a different auto body shop. That their customer service is so poor here that I'm uncomfortable with them even peeking at my car. Her response "oh my gosh- I was going to talk to you about that today, Mark was SO RUDE TO ME YESTERDAY so I'm happy you're going elsewhere!" Good luck Mark. I think you're going to need it- your misery is showing and I wouldn't be surprised if you even argue with soda machines, you're just such a downer with NO customer service. While they do have you sign off that they've scanned your car for codes before and after the repairs, they don't clearly disclose that there will be a charge for it both times. It was technically in the details of the estimate, but since insurance claims don't always involve a full breakdown of individual charges before committing to the work, I wasn't aware of it upfront. Hopefully, if you're paying out-of-pocket for repairs, they go over these details more clearly. Aside from that, my experience was great. After our meeting and kind of estimate, I went back reading the Yelps and realize these people were happy they paid over a thousand to repair basically dents or paint jobs and at least were better than body shops. Read the other Yelps and all of them. Although I am not Mexican, the guy who was grouchy as soon as he got out of the car( I thinking maybe it was a super hot day and he wasn't in the mood to work today?) had mentioned this is not Mexico where it would be cheaper to fix than to replace, we are in the US where it is cheaper to replace than fix my finger sized gash. Oh, that dashed my hopes right there. He wanted to replace the hood and gave a rough estimate of 800. Just to replace it not including painting or fender or anything else. I was paying out of pocket, didn't want to report it to insurance so my premiums don't go up like crazy even though I have full coverage. He mumbled something about like it would all cost roughly about 3000.( just giving us numbers not official quote I don't think but giving us a ballpark estimate). I am not sure why it was rough estimates versus giving us exact estimates? Maybe because we didn't want to replace the whole hood and wanted to fix just that portion( finger length hole). On You tube, they showed how to fix it with paint and strong tape and epoxy so I thought a professional would do it better, but I guess I was wrong. So didn't do it with him. From his other Yelp reviews, most looked like a good job was done in painting and fixing dents. But thought the ballpark estimates were too high for me and so when I went back and read it again I realize all the great value comments were just for dents and paint at over a thousand dollars. I was hoping for a better price point. I will keep searching...

I used Yelp for a few businesses on repair estimates for my dented front bumper cover on my Rav4…read more Did you know that the car's frame is mostly steel or aluminum to protect drivers and passengers, sensors, electronics, etc. but in most cases the outside cover is bendable plastic for aerodynamic reasons? The bad news is that plastic deforms too much from a collision, you can't just massage it back to shape with a hair dryer. Also, who knows if anything else on the car behind the plastic is damaged or out of alignment. California Collision came to the rescue and was able to replace my bumper cover, have it painted, and then recalibration done for the various car sensors to eliminate fault codes. Even minor collisions can cause sensors to be faulty, so don't assume it's a cosmetic thing and try to cut corners and get your vehicle repaired properly. The job took a few hours one day to paint match, then a separate full day to install, recalibrate, and test drive the vehicle to ensure bo more fault codes. George was extremely friendly and transparent with the repair process. He even gave me a tour of his shop and explained the workflow. Its a family business as his son and daughter also work here. He obviously values work-life balance and is closed Friday-Sunday. Body Shops are not cheap but if you need a thorough repair and want things done right, I highly recommend California Collision. If paying out of pocket, use a debit card with a high spend limit to avoid credit card fees.

Don't do that. After I wisely had my car towed home instead, I took a deep breath, talked to my regular mechanic, and he recommend I send it to George at California Collisions. This was a very good choice. George and his staff did the grueling work of haggling with the insurance company, multiple times, over weeks. He also did an excellent job reconstructing my vehicle within the constraints of the insurance coverage. I got my adventure wagon back in good-as-new condition. Customer service and communication were excellent. About 15,000 miles later the rebuild has been tested and proven. Happy to support and rep this business.
