Tried Michelle's Tacos tonight... it's located in a small shopping center behind milestone. Not really well lit. It's a seat yourself restaurant, chips & salsa were brought to the table but there is a self-serve refill station if you need more. I got the carnitas burrito with verde sauce and it was good - served by itself, no rice and beans. My husband got the carne asada fries - he said they were 'okay.' He said it has just a little asada and could have had more. It came with rice and beans. We order the chips & Queso. It was white queso, very very liquidy. We also tried 2 Birria tacos. I love authentic food. I had never been to this restaurant before, but I decided to try it. I had just moved here from SoCal and needed comfort food. I tried the wet beef burrito with red sauce. It was good, and I devoured the food. It had a very nice smoky flavor. The atmosphere is chill and homey, with great traditional music and decorations. The price is reasonable. I will be back to this spot. read more

It's a small hole in the wall type of taco / Mexican food place. The waitress was quick and attentive. The tacos were amazing. 5 tacos for the price that they have is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for some good food. read more

Little spot in a strip mall behind Flowers by LeRoy. Clean and tidy inside and the food is amazing! The chips and salsa bar stave off starvation while your food is prepared but it's all comes out reasonably quickly. It fills up at lunch time so we usually arrive at an off time for the most leisurely dining experience. Service is great and then you go pay your bill at the counter. read more

Food was Ok but didn't have much flavor to it. Pretty bland. They say they have a "salsa bar" but they have four sauces and two of them are not good. Two of them are OK. I'm sitting out front waiting for them to open. I haven't tried the food yet, but the simple fact that they offer pozole, sopes, tortas, mole and menudo has me salivating. These are all foods I love and I've been unable to find them in the Black Hills. Until now that is! Just the opportunity to eat some of my favorites is worth a 5 star rating! *Update* Having eaten here, I'd like to add a couple of notes. The sopes were great as was the pozole. They were out of tortas while I was there (probably bread) and the carnitas taco I got wasn't crispy at all, so I'm not sure it was carnitas. It may have just been a pork taco. All in all, I will be back. However , I do want to point out that as a new establishment, they're still working out some kinks. That being said, just be patient with them. Friendly folks. Everything was okay, nothing special....the food & the service. Salsa & guacamole were super tasty! They forgot our sour cream after saying our meals came with it & forgot my child's guacamole after ordering it as a side & being told it came with it. Most authentic Mexican food in South Dakota! The owner was very hospitable and the staff was great! In conversation with the owner the family has two other locations and a food truck. This restaurant is new in Rapid City and the selection is great. We had great service as well. I was unfamiliar with an item on the menu so they brought me a sample to try it. This is authentic Mexican food and I feel the prices are great. My husband and I like to find great hole in the wall places like this to eat and this one did not let us down! We arrived and were told to sit wherever we liked. We got a menu and chips & salsa relatively fast. We placed our order and waited. And waited. We watched three other tables get their food. To note, we each ordered the 5 tacos each. We watched another table get 5 tacos each. The staff working clearly do not note what table ordered what, because they have our food to a different table. To be fair, the idiots getting our tacos weren't smart enough to notice. After waiting over 30 minutes, we just walked out. Disorganized would be kind. I couldn't comment on the food since it never made it to my table and we didn't have 30 more minutes to waste. read more

This place is great! We ordered dinner to-go tonight (birria tacos, a birria soup with flautas, and a chicken nacho) and everything was absolutely delicious. My husband even just said to me, "I can't stop thinking about that dinner we had!" and I absolutely agree, we'll definitely be stopping back soon. read more

I have eaten here several times now and am never disappointed. The fajitas and flautas are my favorite and some of the best I've ever eaten. Everyone is always super welcoming and helpful with questions about any menu items. Their chips are made fresh there and the salsa is amazing! read more

I usually get the shrimp tacos. at a taco truck the other day, I spent $8 for ONE taco!! The staff is awesome and so nice as well as the owner, Miriam. They even let me practice my mediocre Spanish. The food was terribly greasy.. the tacos dripped grease .. our other order was incorrect. Seams that the grease they fried stuff in must be old and chips were soggy. If I could give this zero stars I would, for a place with tacos in the name you would think you would get more then meat on the shell, that's what we got! No creama no cheese no lettuce nothing meat on shells. One dish came out cold and when we brought it to the servers attention he either didn't understand or didn't know what to do as he walked away and began serving other tables, we got another persons attention she took the plate and it just disappeared. A huge disappointment. My wife ordered the Chile Rolleno and I ordered the Fajitas. Fajitas are normally a nice go to that you cant go wrong with. These were very bland. Guacamole was supposed to be included. My wife's Chile Rolleno was bland. The salsa was extremely salty. Who adds salt when they make salsa? Service was disappointing. The 2 waitresses spent our meal in a separate booth gossiping. The best in the Black Hills is Guadalajara in Spearfish, SD. Make the trip. Don't waste your money here. read more
