Another time I wathced their plain clothes boss eat off the rack of food that was set aside for my teamʻs company. 3 times is not the charm. They are the worst catering company Iʻve experienced from LA to London. I donʻt know how they are still in business.

In 2022, I hired Great Performances to help celebrate the launch of my book at the iconic Strand Bookstore in NYC. I flew in friends and family for what was meant to be a milestone moment. A day before the event, I contracted COVID and, heartbreakingly, had to cancel. The contract clearly stated that in cases of force majeure--like illness--neither party would be at fault. I no longer lived in NYC, so rescheduling wasn't viable. I reached out, respectfully and in good faith, to discuss paying a portion of the nearly $6,000 charge. Instead of any further acknowledgment, I was ghosted. They stopped answering my emails entirely. No returned calls, no response--just silence. I then worked through American Express, who initially agreed I shouldn't be liable. But after years of back and forth, I was told the full charge would stand. Throughout this time, I have yet to speak with a single human being from this company. This isn't just poor customer service. It's a failure of integrity. They collected thousands of dollars for an event that never happened, provided no flexibility, no dialogue, no professionalism. I waited to write this review in hopes of resolution. That hope is gone. So is my money. If you care about decency, transparency, or the simple act of being treated like a human being--look elsewhere.

I had my order in the tote for about an hour before the event and all of the ice cream and sorbets stayed perfectly in tact. The right serving temperature - I didn't even thaw it. (I did take it out of the tote 1/2 hr before serving but that was for decorating purposes). The twist to close tubs (one pint each) make 'em leak proof and the descriptive labels make them fun. Everyone was checking out the flavor combinations and with practically 5% proof (alcohol) - you get a nice tasting infusion that tickles your senses. Artisanal, hand-crafted cocktails or My entire office was quick to find a favorite. To please the majority as I ordered this as part of a corporate lunch celebration, I simply ordered the sampler pack (6 flavors - 4 ice cream, 2 sorbets) via a food delivery app. Super easy and nothing to do. They provided the sampling spoons upon request. (It does not come with bowls so be sure to have those on hand if you're ordering catering). I sampled and enjoyed immensely: Mango Margarita Sorbet - light in flavor, tasty margarita...let it melt a little, it becomes the perfect "frozen margarita" in your cup. LOL Cake Batter Vodka Martini - you can taste that vodka alright. Cake batter - as sweet as it sounds. The vodka gives it some balance. Raspberry Limoncello Sorbet - the favorite in the office, fresh raspberry flavor and the limoncello is spot on, like drinking the cocktail. Awesome. Perfect as is. - Spiked Hazelnut coffee - great hazelnut taste and coffee undertones. Spiked alright. Excellent late afternoon kick. They also sell ice cream pies/ice cream sandwiches and seasonal flavored ice creams. I will totally order from them again. Everything was perfect...I just didn't have the opportunity to try them all. That's absurd to pay $16.50 and no fries included. Fries were an additional $10.50. The worst part is the tenders were underwhelming; no flavor at all until dipped in ranch dressing. I can only speak for the tenders and fries. Unfortunately, this is the second time I've ordered from Southern Chick and it was consistently underwhelming both times. I'm not interested in finishing the rest.

He would have easily paid full price for each, but to claim that mac and cheese is its own entree was just weird. AND to claim that like, he COULDN'T have something - weirder. So he went to do that, but now I'm waiting with my food getting cold, to be rung up. We had several non-vegan attendees and they were just as impressed by our meal. The team was very pleasant, knowledgeable, communicative, and easy to work with. Communications and day of logistics were flawless and I was very comfortable with the safety precautions taken in light of Covid. I highly recommend Herban Plate and look forward to working with them again in the future. So to sum it up...great customer service and delicious food. What more could I ask for? :)
