Ice Cream Flight - Cake Batter Vodka Martini, Strawberry Rhubarb Bourbon, Tequila Mexican "Hot" Chocolate + Strawberry White Sangria Sorbet
    Corinne K.

Errbody in the Tipsy Scoop Ice Cream Barlour gettin' tipsy. That's right, alcoholic ice cream is a thing and an amazing, delicious thing at that. My friends and I decided to get ourselves some post-boozy brunch boozy ice cream because, well, we're alcoholics and I mean, wine not? Now I know that you guys are prob thinking that that was a really bad idea, but let me reassure y'all, it was a fan-freaking-tastic one because those flavors were DELISH and thankfully not *too* boozy enough to kill us whew (but rest assured to all my fellow alcoholics, they were DEF boozy enough so we felt like we were actually getting our moneys worth). We shared an ice cream flight of Cake Batter Vodka Martini, Strawberry Rhubarb Bourban, Tequila Mexican "Hot" Chocolate + Strawberry White Sangria Sorbet and man, they were all pretty tasty. Being the tequila loving bish that I am, my favorite was ofc the Tequila Mexican "Hot" Chocolate which had just enough tequila to make the ice cream even more tasty and fun. Now, definitely don't come into Tipsy Scoop expecting to get drunk outta your minds, but DO stop by if you wanna get a little alcoholic ice cream wasted!

Who doesn't love ice cream infused with alcohol? We went during happy hour on a Friday and the lines were lonnnnnng (waited around half an hour). We tried the spikes Hazelnut coffee and the red velvet martini. The ice creams won't get you drunk since they only have a 5% alcohol content, but you can taste a hint of the liquor which is all that matters!!! Plus it looks pretty with the complimentary sprinkles :) The crowd was annoying tho. Prepared to be swarmed with overly excited mom's who shout and gesture and flap their arms around a lot. Almost got elbowed in the tummy for an Instagram selfie. Ugh. The servers looked dead inside and one of them actively scowled when we told her we wanted to sample some flavours before purchasing. But I understand why. If I had to listen to the Pussycat Dolls all day I would be cranky too. Prices were super reasonable (given that it's happy hour). Might buy a pint for $12 next time but I'll get it shipped to my house directly hahaha

Sooo I finally got around to trying this popular "do it for the 'gram" spot! I got there exactly at 4 for the happy hour special. I got there at the perfect time since after I got my ice cream, the line was ginormous!! So I highly recommend getting there exactly at 4. Happy hour is on weekdays from 4-6. Okay, so in my opinion, I would ONLY come here during the happy hour specials, otherwise the money isn't worth it. The normal price for 1 scoop is $4.50, which is pricey especially because the serving size is soooo tiny! But during happy hour, the price is 2 scoops for 1, which makes my frugal self feel a lot better. It's the equivalent of a small cup. I got the spiked hazelnut and cake batter vodka martini, which was pretty good! The alcohol taste wasn't overwhelming, and the ice cream was really creamy (started melting pretty much as soon as I received it). Overall, solid effort. I would do it for the 'gram.

I was very excited to try this place but unfortunately it just fell short for me. I got the flight and the presentation was fairly sloppy. The ice cream was already a little too melted when they first gave it to me and the gal placed the ice cream in the cups in a messy manner. I ate the entire flight myself and felt nothing in terms of alcohol. I wasn't expecting to be drunk of course but honestly I would next time prefer to get a fancy cocktail and go for dessert after. There was minimal seating inside and no seating outside. All in all, I probably won't ever go here again.

Came here with a couple of my friends to check out the hype. There was a long line outside and there was a person who came around to check our IDs and stamp our hands to make sure we were 21. The line more ed very quickly. We got to get the happy hour special with 4 different flavors. I got the Vanilla bean bourbon Mango margarita sorbet Spiked hazelnut coffee Strawberry rhubarb bourbon I really liked all the flavors, but my favorite one was the mango margarita sorbet! Definitely will be coming back because the service was great and the interior decor was nice and simple but appealing. Really good icecream place on a hot day

Ice cream and alcohol? What's not to love? After waiting in an hour and a half line in the beating 90 degree sun, i finally was able to try this latest nyc food hype. The shop serves about 4 ice cream flavors and 3-4 sorbets. All the flavors are infused with about less than 5% of different types of liquors and booze that pair nicely with an ice cream flavor. Sadly, not enough to get you tipsy, but some flavors you can sure taste the booze. I wanted a sorbet and cream flavor that would pair well together, so i went ahead and ordered the whiskey chocolate and raspberry sorbet. ($7 for two scoops--pricey but average for specialty desserts in nyc) Not sure if it was the heat exhaustion that made me desperate for something icy, but it was delicious. I was a sticky mess, but it was worth it. If i were to go again, i would make sure I wouldn't have to wait in another one of those incredibly long lines again. I would definitely go back during their happy hour ( weekdays 3-5) which is 2 scoops for the price of one, or for their flight sampler ( 3 or 4 mini scoops in small shooters). Super cute idea.

Went the Sunday before Memorial Day and there was a pretty decent line. The guy who was outside watching the line was pretty rude and had an attitude. The owner came out a few times to ask us to quiet down & keep the line close and tight. She was nicer about it. The menu was passed down the line so everyone could know what they wanted before they got inside. When finally got inside almost everything was sold out. I think there were 4-5 flavors left to choose from which they probably should have said while everyone was looking at the menu outside. So I had to rethink about what I wanted because the 2 flavors I did want were sold out. I ended up getting the cake batter vodka martini and mango margarita sorbet. You get a hint of the alcohol when you eat it. The ice cream was pretty good overall. Just bad communication on what flavors were sold out & didn't like the rudeness of the guy outside.

I came here to try out this amazing new concept of liquor infused ice cream! The moment I got there the line was so long. I was on line for 30 minutes but it moved along well. The decor was cute and the music was nice. I went there during happy hour and i enjoyed the friendliness of the employees. I ordered the spiked mint chocolate chip and the vodka cake batter flavor in a waffle bowl. I enjoyed the sprinkles on my ice cream as well! The vodka cake batter was the perfect combination of liquor and flavor. The spiked mint chocolate chip was good but you cant really taste the liquor too much. This place is a must try but maybe in a few weeks when the hype goes down. Happy hour 4-6!

Alcohol and Ice Cream -- what can go wrong? You can definitely taste the alcohol and the flavors are creative, but it just didn't do it for me. Maybe I'm too much of a purist but it just wasn't as good of a dessert compared to pure creamy regular ice cream. I'm glad I didn't have to wait in a ridiculously long line too. I'll just save the alcohol for my cocktails or the occasional spiked milkshake

Such a fun idea! An after work outing with the work girls. The spot so pretty small & luckily we got there and there was a good amount of people enjoying ice cream. Yes you must be 21 & older, ID's will be seen at the door (sorry to my princess )... As for the alcohol there is only 5% in the ice cream and to me I was not able to taste it in my full tray. I gotta say that the 'Vanilla Bean Bourbon' was my fav. I'm a Vanilla fan but you was deff able to actually taste the alcohol in this one. But it's not worth paying $12 for a pint to grab for home. The staff is friendly & pretty patient.

Don't let the line scare you. It's very social and moves quickly.

Dark Chocolate Whisky Salted Caramel...keep saying that. Absolutely spectacular. So happy that Tipsy Scoop Barlour is in my neighborhood. This place is really unique and truly supreme! My second favorite is the Hot Buttered Rum. Another life-affirming flavor is the Chocolate Stout + Pretzel. I've tried about 6 of their flavors and they are all incredible. Really nice staff too! Very generous with samples. Well worth walking over or grabbing a cab. The neighborhood is great too...lots of fun bars...plus great sports bars. Give Gem Saloon, Nick's Pizza Bar, or Van Diemen's a try, then Tipsy Scoop for dessert...or a chaser.

The tipsy scoop came out to cater a work event of mine and I'm SO happy that they did! I had the chance to try the Rosé and Dark Chocolate Whiskey flavors which were absolutely amazing. The Rosé was a refreshing sorbet and the chocolate was rich with just the right hint of alcohol popping through. I wouldn't say I felt totally tipsy after trying two small scoops, but I definitely felt satisfied! Can't wait to visit the in person location.

Pros: - one of the few (if not the only) alcohol infused ice cream spots out there - great service - they allow 2 samples per customer - happy hour ($4.90 for 2 scoops from 4-6 on weekdays.) Cons: - I didn't really taste any alcohol in the dark chocolate whisky salted caramel and spiked mint chocolate chip - my ice cream consistency came out a tad bit harder than soft-serve...guess the freezer wasn't cold enough or it was supposed to be that way? Would I be back in the future? Only for happy hour.

Yes, they will ask if you get the alcoholic scoops.

I arrived at 2pm on a weekday and the guy was doing a deep clean while I ate my sandwich. Love this. I got The Emma - no clue how they arrived at this name. It's one of their more spicy steak sandwiches and includes kimchi and Broccoli rabe - absolutely one of the most memorable sandwiches I've consumed. While I was there - a food blogger came in and shot a video. This place is no secret. My only "issue" is that the food is expensive. I TOTALLY get they are using high end ingredients - organics - locally sourced - etc. those items are not cheap. But my sandwich was normal sized - no pickle or any add on item - and I ate in but was not offered a plate or a fork. It's a deli. But for $20+, I can't eat here every day or even multiple times a week. Like NYC, it ain't for everyone and it ain't cheap. But I'll be back!

It's a great spot if you're looking for something fresh, satisfying, and easy--especially on a nice sunny day when you can sit back and enjoy the view. Definitely a place I'd come back to for salads, wraps, or sandwiches
