Lots of fruity refreshing sorbet options plus a soft serve margarita option (which I got) and creamier boozy ice creams. I tried multiple and liked them all! Didn't feel any buzz after finishing mine but didn't expect to. My margarita was a little over $10 which I thought was pretty expensive. It was $12ish for two scoops of the sorbets/ice creams. Tipsy Scoop is fantastic! The catering order arrives in a reusable /travel sized freezer bag. Packed with dry ice to keep everything cool. I had my order in the tote for about an hour before the event and all of the ice cream and sorbets stayed perfectly in tact. The right serving temperature - I didn't even thaw it. (I did take it out of the tote 1/2 hr before serving but that was for decorating purposes). The twist to close tubs (one pint each) make 'em leak proof and the descriptive labels make them fun. Everyone was checking out the flavor combinations and with practically 5% proof (alcohol) - you get a nice tasting infusion that tickles your senses. Artisanal, hand-crafted cocktails or My entire office was quick to find a favorite. To please the majority as I ordered this as part of a corporate lunch celebration, I simply ordered the sampler pack (6 flavors - 4 ice cream, 2 sorbets) via a food delivery app. Super easy and nothing to do. They provided the sampling spoons upon request. (It does not come with bowls so be sure to have those on hand if you're ordering catering). I sampled and enjoyed immensely: Mango Margarita Sorbet - light in flavor, tasty margarita...let it melt a little, it becomes the perfect "frozen margarita" in your cup. LOL Cake Batter Vodka Martini - you can taste that vodka alright. Cake batter - as sweet as it sounds. The vodka gives it some balance. Raspberry Limoncello Sorbet - the favorite in the office, fresh raspberry flavor and the limoncello is spot on, like drinking the cocktail. Awesome. Great concept and the ice cream lives up to it's expectation. You can certainly taste the alcohol and the creamy rich ice cream. "Ice Cream Wasted!" Well, I wasn't but, was told that if you eat a whole pint of ice cream from this place you might get a buzz. Not a brain freeze, an actual buzz. You see, this is not your regular "safe" vanilla or chocolate ice cream. Tipsy Scoop gets creative and fun with their treats. Flavors like spiked mint chocolate chip, strawberry white sangria, cake batter vodka martini, have you dizzy trying to decide which one to get. Well, they make it easy for you... They have flights! And that's what we ordered. Why pick only one, especially when you're there for just a weekend and who know when you'll be back for more? Some things before you order... 1. They I.D. 2. You are allowed (I believe) only 2 tastings before picking what you want 3. If you order I flight they will keep your I.D to make sure you return the holder 4. Look around the shop, they have some fun signs and merchandise. Ok, back to the ice cream. Flight includes 4 different flavors and you can add toppings like sprinkles, cherry. These come in mini plastic cups. If you order outside the flight you can choose from 1 scoop cup, 2 scoop cup, or cone bowl. We ordered the following: 1. Hot buttered rum - this tasted like a Puerto Rican Coquito but not too sweet. The cinnamon is the front taste to this one, so if you don't like it stay away. To me, it was a taste of home without that much sweetness and I loved it! 2. Strawberry Rhubarb Bourbon - the sweetness of the strawberries with the bourbon is a great combination. Would have never thought to pair them, as usually I see more cherries on Bourbon drinks at bars but no strawberries. Good way to think outside the box 3. Dark Chocolate Whiskey Salted Caramel - I love dark chocolate and I love sweet and salty. So obviously I loved this one too! 4. Tequila "Mexican" Hot Chocolate - this one the lady serving us recommended and so glad she did. It was the last scoop we had and we scored! It tasted exactly like the drink but in Ice Cream which is obviously better. In all of them you could taste the alcohol but it wasn't too strong, so you still enjoyed the sweetness of the dessert. After we finished eating them and had come down from ice cream heaven, we got my I.D. back and smiled all the way to our next stop. Okay, so in my opinion, I would ONLY come here during the happy hour specials, otherwise the money isn't worth it. But during happy hour, the price is 2 scoops for 1, which makes my frugal self feel a lot better. It's the equivalent of a small cup. The ice cream was already a little too melted when they first gave it to me and the gal placed the ice cream in the cups in a messy manner. The shop serves about 4 ice cream flavors and 3-4 sorbets. All the flavors are infused with about less than 5% of different types of liquors and booze that pair nicely with an ice cream flavor. Sadly, not enough to get you tipsy, but some flavors you can sure taste the booze. I wanted a sorbet and cream flavor that would pair well together, so i went ahead and ordered the whiskey chocolate and raspberry sorbet. ($7 for two scoops--pricey but average for specialty desserts in nyc) Not sure if it was the heat exhaustion that made me desperate for something icy, but it was delicious. I was a sticky mess, but it was worth it. If i were to go again, i would make sure I wouldn't have to wait in another one of those incredibly long lines again. Went the Sunday before Memorial Day and there was a pretty decent line. The guy who was outside watching the line was pretty rude and had an attitude. The owner came out a few times to ask us to quiet down & keep the line close and tight. She was nicer about it. The decor was cute and the music was nice. I went there during happy hour and i enjoyed the friendliness of the employees. The tipsy scoop came out to cater a work event of mine and I'm SO happy that they did! I had the chance to try the Rosé and Dark Chocolate Whiskey flavors which were absolutely amazing. The Rosé was a refreshing sorbet and the chocolate was rich with just the right hint of alcohol popping through. This place is a bit of a novelty - alcoholic ice cream and you really can taste the alcohol. We came on a relatively mild weekend afternoon and didn't have to wait too long. They do a lot of very interesting flavours. You can get small or large, plus they have tubs that you can take home for consumption at your leisure. Can't remember which flavour I got but I do remember it melting I incredibly quickly. Not that surprising I guess given the alcohol. I can not tell you when in the history of food Ice Cream drank its way into Alcohol's pants, but they had a baby at this nondescript, bare bones, brick & mortar shop in lower midtown. I expect several locations within the next year If the business gets their act together in the form of seating space, branding imagery, and punch cards because the lush will act on their addiction to this place. Now that I'm sober, combinations like Chocolate Stout & Pretzel, Red Velvet Martini, and Mango Margarita sorbet STILL make sense to me. A flight of 4 different ice creams in one sitting does not. A $75 custom tipsy birthday cake DOES make sense to me. $15 for inscribing it does not. FYI: 2 scoops ($6) will look like one, but it goes a long way. Their 5% alcohol content is more than a Bud Light, but do not expect to leave tipsy unless you pre-game. We (there were ten of us) were looking for some ice cream on Saturday night and looked up on Yelp to see that this place closes at 10:00--we figured, "great we have 15 minutes" so we headed over and we're walking up at 9:52 and this man sitting on a barstool snaps "we're closed!" And I said "your Yelp page says open til 10" and he rudely repeated "we are closed." There were people in there being served at that very moment. His colleague then stepped in and said "we are only down to 4 flavors so we are trying to limit people." And then still refused service but said we can buy pints if we wanted to. For me, service is absolutely part of the experience. I would Never choose to spend money on a place with such rude service. If they had said from the beginning "hey guys, just to let you know, we are down to four flavors and take home pints." That's a completely different message--one that doesn't display rudeness and refusal of service and instead explains the situation and let's the customer choose. Tipsy Scoop has got to be one of the more interesting ice cream discoveries as of late. Although alcoholic ice cream has been around for quite some time, Tipsy Scoop seems to be the first store that is dedicated to this new boozy treat. This unique ice cream parlor is nestled into a tiny spot on a side street, and could have very easily gone unnoticed had we not been looking for it. Making in just in time before it closes, the store already had a line of people waiting and no remaining seats inside the store. The shop seemed a bit minimalistic and seemed a bit unfinished. It was also a little humid for an enjoyable ice cream experience but that can be chalked it up to the rain that night. My date and I opted to do the flight in an attempt to try the most flavors possible. Unfortunately some of the flavors seemed to have been sold out by the time we got there. We decided on the Spiked Mint, Spiked Hazelnut Coffee, Red Velvet and Vanilla Bourbon. Grading all the different flavors I would have to say that order would be (favorite to least): Coffee, Bourbon, Mint & Red Velvet. I felt that the coffee one carried the best flavor profile but you could most clearly taste the bourbon in the Vanilla flavor. All the ice creams had a pretty creamy and luxurious mouthfeel but the red velvet one was a bit overbearing. Since red velvet is a pretty intense flavor already, adding alcohol to it seemed to be overkill. Take my opinions with a grain of salt though, my date preferred the exact opposite of what I chose. She liked the Spiked Mint, Velvet, coffee and bourbon. This was good in its own way, I got to finish my favorites and she got to finish hers. One of the things that I loved about Tipsy Scoop was their staff. They genuinely seemed passionate about the work that they were doing. The staff didn't seem bothered that we were trying to take the best pictures possible, they even helped us! Overall, I can easily predict that Tipsy Scoop will soon get even more crowded as their popularity grows, it'll definitely be crowded by the summer. Hopefully the rolled ice cream fad can finally die with Tipsy Scoop as the better and boozy replacement. I look forward to visiting again! read more

I had my first tipsy scoop at the Bastille Day Festival. I got the strawberry sangria sorbet and vanilla bean bourbon. It was so good but I didn't really taste much alcohol. The strawberry sangria sorbet wasn't too sour like the usual strawberry sorbet and the vanilla one was perfectly sweet. They charged $6 for 2 scoops so it wasn't too bad since it contained a bit alcohol. I was really impressed with the customer service and the ice cream from Tipsy Scoop. I am a huge fan of ice cream and not a huge fan of alcohol, so I was worried that, like in a lot of alcohol-infused food situations, the taste of the alcohol would ruin the ice cream. Not true! I tried the Dark and Stormy and the cake-batter vodka martini ice creams, and both were amazing. The alcohol complemented, but did not overpower the taste of the ice cream. They also give you free sprinkles and a cherry, which was fun. They have a great variety of flavors, but not too many to be overwhelming. The service was incredible, and our server was really devoted to talking to us and trying to figure out what flavors we would like best. I would definitely come back here. read more
