Inexpensive hostel stay for two nights ~$145. It's about 5min waking distance to some of the buildings of Brown university. It's next to Ben and Jerry's ice cream store on the upper level. The entrance is somewhat obscured with no posted sign and easily missed, you really had to follow the email instructions which would be sent on day of arrival if not hours; otherwise, you won't be able to find it or get in. And I had seen it happened. I called its customer service no. (401) 863-2378 ) for check in instructions because I could not open the file that was sent on the Expedia website. I provided my personal information and uploaded a copy of my ID. Since Expedia had screwed up once before with my reservation not being found on arrival so I now call to confirm all my Expedia reservations. Don't get me wrong, I love Expedia and it's my favorite and prime sites for travel reservations. It's centrally located on a busy Main Street with lots of dinning options. It's about ~20min Uber drive from the Rhode Island airport. For the price you pay, the quality of the place is acceptable with the bare minimum: clean bedrooms, shared restrooms, and kitchen; except that you need showering shampoos and bath soup. One bath towel is provided. There is even a sitting area with skylights. We visited at the end of August with superb weather so it would be interesting to see whether the AC unit functionality during hot or cold months. If you are sensitive to loud street noise, do not stay here as some of street facing rooms have poor sound proof and the hole on the window barrier did not help with the situation: loud crowds, car honking, and blasting music last well past midnight on the weekends.

The event is free and open to the public, registration not required. There was a sign on Westminster Street indicating the entrance. The Pavilion at Grace Church exhibited iconic photographs taken by the late Life Magazine photographer David Lees that document the flood in Florence in 1966 and the Providence Journal photos of downtown Providence after Hurricane Carol in 1954. The photographs were dramatic and memorable of each city underwater. There were plenty of space to walk around and take in the photos.

Our event comfortably fit 100 people at least, with plenty if room for DJ, photo booth, several catering stations and tables for snacking. Such an intimate and grand atmosphere! It's location is perfect with accommodations within walking distance! The Pavilion itself is attached to Grace Episcopal Church, but doors do separate the spaces for non-religious events. There is also a courtyard, which will serve as a great outdoor space in nicer weather!

Skyline at Waterplace - View of Water Fire from Skyline... their balcony is honestly the highlight of their venue

I'm so sad that I cannot give more stars to Skyline at Waterplace…read more Their venue is in such an INCREDIBLE location, in the heart of downtown Providence right on the river. They have a huge balcony that overlooks the river and a ground level patio that walks right out to the river boardwalk. We were able to enjoy Providence's Water Fire with private, front row seats. It was a priceless experience Despite all of that, the interior spaces are very, very small and oddly shaped, making it very hard to move during an event. It also makes it very difficult for the staff to maneuver in between tables, causing a major traffic jam when it comes to meal time. I'm not sure what happened when we were there, but there were MAJOR delays and mix ups during our event. So much so that the wait staff actually forgot to serve our entire table. By the time the realized this, they served us ice cold food that was over cooked, over salted, and actually inedible. The hosts of our event tried to correct it by offering to comp our table a round of drinks. But at that point we were all so disappointed and turned off by the entire experience that we all decided to leave two hours before the end of the event. Skyline at Waterplace has the potential to be incredible. But until they make some major changes, it's not a place I can recommend.

It's a weird space, kind of like your weird Greek party uncle decorated it. The appetizers are…read moresurprisingly good but the entrees were lackluster across the board. The view is a view you can see without eating here. Overall it's a solid meh. But then the service was poor. Our server was very friendly but disappeared chatting with a nearby table for long soars of time. We could see her, but we couldn't get her attention so waters stayed unfilled and such. And when we asked for separate checks with was a TRAGEDY. Huge deal about how they don't do it and the can't do it but they'll do it this time and then here's some guilt with your checks. The manager came over and shamed us for our wanting to use separate forms of payment too. Separate checks stopped being a big deal in the 90s. In the 90s there was easy to use POS tech to do separate checks. And then they added gratuity (without telling us or noting it anywhere) so the bit about how people don't right with separate checks was uncalled for. There is zero chance I'll ever go back here. But. Again. The appetizers were good.

We fell in love with her, the house, everything including the murder-by-mail story behind the house from the 1800s. About 2 weeks before the party we called Kaitlyn and told her it was going to turn into our surprise wedding! She continued to be so helpful and excited, giving recommendations for all kinds of vendors we'd need. The day of the party she was professional and hands-on, making sure everything got done on a quick timeline. She calmed nerves and had great suggestions on where things should go to make sure everything flowed just right. Our rental price included some tables and linens she had available, and some glassware too. It was so perfect from the start and we couldn't be happier!!

Beautiful historic building who's tour guides added in a true life murder mystery of the lady of the houses death. This really added to the event as it was so my scene and absolutely fun. I would def host an event here because unlike the Newport mansions I could touch things and see things in the midst of being historically preserved since they're still restoring the house. Open Doors RI has found a new regular customer :)
