I don't usually come here for the pool side of things, so I can't speak to the tables or pricing, but I do stop by the bar every now and then (usually in that quieter 3-6 p.m. window) and it's always a good experience. The servers are consistently nice and considerate, and the food is better than you'd expect from a typical "bar menu." The appetizer platter is a favorite of mine, the wings are always solid (and they've got 50¢ wing specials on Sundays), and the margaritas are honestly really good too. They also run other fun specials like Ladies' Night and Taco Tuesdays, which you can check out online. Not feeling up for hosting another house party for my birthday this year, I decided to switch things up with a night out instead. After making a few calls and doing a little research, I came across Bo's Bar & Billiards. A night of pool with friends sounded like a great time--and it absolutely was! Bo's is in a huge building, and as soon as you walk in, you're hit with the lively sights and sounds of a classic billiards hall. The bar sits on a raised platform to the left, while most of the space is filled with pool tables. But the real gem? Their private rooms tucked away in the back. I booked one of them, which came with two pool tables and could comfortably fit up to 40 guests. Even better, the rooms have doors that can open between them if you want to combine spaces and double the fun. The vibe in the private room was unexpectedly charming--dim lighting, wood paneling, and rich tones that gave it a cozy, Clue-esque library feel. It felt intimate and inviting, like we'd stumbled into a hidden lounge tucked behind a bookcase. Between the soft glow and the steady clack of pool balls, it was the perfect backdrop for a relaxed but festive night. The room had all the essentials: a TV with the game on, a dial to control the music volume, and access to the TouchTunes app so we could pick our own playlist (with a fee) if we wanted. Booking the space was super easy--just a quick call to check availability and a request to reserve. No deposit needed. I even swung by ahead of time to check out the space, and the manager was kind enough to give me a quick tour and explain everything, which made the actual night go off without a hitch. I laid out a few card games for the non-pool players, and there was a small buffet area where I was able to set up a birthday cake I brought in (yes, outside desserts are allowed!). They do offer buffet packages, but I appreciated that there was no required food minimum. Since most of my friends had eaten beforehand and planned to order drinks anyway, it worked out perfectly. If you're interested, they also have bar packages available. The highlight? We had a dedicated waitress for our room. She was super friendly and incredibly on top of things--refills, clearing dessert plates, helping guests close out tabs--you name it. Which I get, we are not perfect and everyone is not the same. But man, when you are forgotten, then finally received your food, its as cold as left overs in the fridge? That is terrible. In addition you are overlooked multiple times and your wait times are much longer than the others waiting. I will touch upon the positive experience. Young lady was present. Ensure that we did not need anything. When we ordered and while we played pool. She had a lot going on, but did not let it slow her down. The food, it was ok. If the wings were not .20 I would not be there ordering. I rather pay $1 per wing or what ever full price would be. Went for their "appy hour" --at the bar. Great 25 cent wings on Mondays! Really good wings too! Drinks were very good--high price on Martinis.--also Chefs salad--very good--pricey at 13.99. Let me just start by saying I got charged 18$ for casa migos and Red Bull mix drink... the atmosphere is horrible bunch of old horny ass holes. The staff is so rude and "so much better then you" even though there the ones behind the counter. Tables are pretty good but staff enjoys hanging at the bar more than monitoring the large front greeting station where you pick up and drop off the balls. With only a handful of customers in the place I had to wait more than 5 minutes when I came in and again when I wanted to leave. I mean it's a pool hall and so you can't expect the best food and mixed drinks ever, but the service was as good as it was going to get on a packed Saturday night, but the waitresses tried to keep up and that's all you can ask for and they did a good job at it. There are very few good pool halls left in RI. This place is definitely one of them. From the counter, the bar, to the table lights, the interior was well thought out. . Railbirds have a place to watch every game from a high view. This place is beautiful....as well as the servers. They offer free pool on certain days. Been here a couple of times to celebrate birthdays so I'm always with a crowd and have a great time. Last time we had 6 tables! The waitress was absolutely lovely and really knew her stuff. How she kept us all straight as we were moving from table to table is a mystery! (As an aside, she was also very easy on the eyes) As a group we ordered snacks like french fries and nachos. I can't eat nachos anymore (so sad, I love nachos!) but did eat the fries where were really good! Crunchy outside, soft inside just like they should be. They have a full bar selection, a good beer selection and a full 'bar menu'. Besides the pool tables, you can sit at the bar, or a small seating area off to one side and they have a few games and a dart board. A variety of music plays in the background. I came here on a date. We figured if would Be a great place to chat , get to know each other , have some drinks , and pick on some apps. If I was basing it on service alone I'd never be back. They have a reasonably priced craft beer menu and I was excited to try a few. Unfortunately our waitress took so long to serve us my date ended up going to bar to get them. Not once but twice. I'm a huge beer drinker and so was he and had she paid attention to us we would have drank way more. So finally she comes back and takes a food order. By this time we had been waiting a while for our beers so we just wanted apps since it was quick. Two couples sat down after we did and about fifteen minutes later they had gotten their food. And it was the same thing we ordered. Hmm odd. So my date has to flag down the waitress and asked where out food was. She looks at her pad and says oops I didn't put it in. Yeah great. When we did get the food it was delicious. I am taking this to be a one time thing. Perhaps she was new so I will try again and update. I was very excited to check out this pool hall, and very disappointed when I got inside. The woman at the front desk had a huge attitude, didn't greet us, wasn't helpful, tried her best to not acknowledge us. Meanwhile other employees(1 of which checked our ids) lounged around chit chatting while we stood at the check in area for about 5 minutes before deciding that there's no way we could financially support an establishment that treated their 'guests' that way. Overall very disappointing , perhaps I would have been less disappointed had we gotten a table, or even the slightest bit of customer service.. but I'm over it . First impressions are lasting, and I won't be returning. Little advice ? Find yourself a new hostess who will actually appreciate the job and greet customers. read more

So I went to this billiards place tonight and let me tell you that I have never been more disappointed. I enter this dimly lit Area where the billiards tables are and music blasting. I ordered food that took well over 45 minutes for chicken wings it smelled like cigarette smoke inside of the customer area even though nobody was smoking and it is illegal to smoke inside so I asked one of the waitstaff and she told me that people were probably smoking in the kitchen meaning employees. So Beyond my good judgment I decided to push through and go into the kitchen there were two people smoking cigarettes while making food without gloves and some manager named KEITH that was drunk as can be grabbing the plates of food while drinking at the same time. I really enjoyed going here and will continue to. During the week playing pool is a reasonable price, much cheaper then competitors I've seen. They have tons of pool tables with enough space to play. Food is fairly cheap especially on game day where everything seems $5 and below. They have a bar with reasonably priced drinks. The best time to come is Sunday nights when they have the game day menu and free pool for everyone after 5 on Sunday. Just make sure to get there at 5 on Sunday tables full fast.
