But the BEST part: the plants are beautifully LABELED of WHEN it blooms, how TALL it will get, what the final product WILL look like and whether or not it is "deer resistant" and "attracts bees". (No other greenhouse in the area does this!) Staff is easily identified (by the blue vests) AND very knowledgeable. If they don't know, they will contact someone who DOES!! They even guarantee some plants (expiration is listed on the receipt.) As close to perfection as it gets!

I think of all the things I would never ever want to buy and fill my house with. While the main house of The Weed Lady is technically a gift shop, it couldn't be further from the cheap, overpriced connotations mentioned above. They set the atmosphere in the entryway, with an assortment of tea, coffee, and cookies to enjoy while you browse (edit: this may only be present during Christmas shopping season. Still, a nice touch!). It's obvious that every item in this shop has been deliberately chosen by the owner, and each one uniquely captures the natural environment. Cedar and sage scented candles, stone vases, tempered votives, long-stemmed glassware, handmade soaps... you could spend hours looking at all of the ornaments and decorations on display. Gorgeous, inviting, warm.. it doesn't even begin to describe the atmosphere that they have created in the 3 main rooms of the house. The Weed Lady is also a florist, with quite a large greenhouse in the back. Will definitely have to do more exploring here during the summer. The prices are a bit high, but also fair when considering you're paying for unique, quality products and excellent, knowledgeable service. Their plants and tree's are always healthy, in great shape and well taken care of. when you consider how much effort goes into traveling to a nursery to buy your plants and bring them home and plant them, followed up with with ongoing watering and care, there is nothing more annoying than seeing the plant get sickly and die shortly thereafter due to poor quality stock from the business and/or inadequate care of the plants at the business. I have seen this movie too many times from plants I have purchased from the big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot which is the primary reason I buy my plants at Bordines. Relative to nursery itself, Bordines has a very large selection of healthy plants/tree/shrubs where their staff in quite knowledgeable in all garden matters in general. The flower prices from what I can tell are in line with the big Box stores for the most part where they have nice sales throughout the season and especially on Memorial Day weekend which is when I buy most of my flowers in particular their hanging baskets which are a great price during this holiday weekend. trees and shrubs are a tad higher in general but the selection is quite large versus the big box stores and are definitely quite healthy and ready for transplant unlike the big box stores. Overall a great placer to shop for all your garden needs where you can rest assured yours plants will be healthy with a great start on them acclimating to there new home and surviving and thriving throughout the season.

That being indicated, we have a situation that just changed supporting this business. Last fall, we purchased a blooming tree. This spring it was dead. We had done everything that they had indicated. Including buying additional products that they told us to use at additional cost. Even after doing so the tree is dead. We went in and explained the situation and looked for a solution. We were told that they have- NO GAURANTEE ON ANYTHING THEY SELL. I was in disbelief that they do not stay behind anything sold. I could not believe that for the amount of money that it would cost them to replace that they would jeopardize their name. BUT THEY DIDNT DO ANYTHING. AN SORRY AND WALK AWAY. That part didn't go as well as it should have, the weather turned up the heat, and for as much as I watered: still the plants were charred by the string of super sunny, hot days. Left with no choice other than to make another purchase-this time I was smart enough to ask Auburn Oaks to add delivery and install of the plants to my bill. WHAT a FABULOUS choice!! Coming here's a pleasure because their not a huge facility like Bordine's or Lowe's. Parking's tight but doable you just have to be careful when backing out since it's literally on Auburn Road, which is super busy and the speed limit's 50 MPH. They have a great selection of items to choose from, and prices are competitive and fair. What keeps me coming back is the staff. Their super friendly and are extremely knowledgeable. They also have regular sales and keep up with seasonal stuff like pumpkins, Christmas décor and other stuff as well. They also stand behind their products so if you buy a tree or plant, I think they will credit you if it does die. Don't quote me on that, but these guys really do stand behind what their selling. Overall a fabulous little nursery in a world of big box stores, we love coming here for just about anything!
