Nice local pub right in the heart of Hollywood, Florida ..... didn't eat an entree but the spinach artichoke dip was good.

PUB CRAWL - 3rd stop... Mickey Byrne's Irish Pub is a true drinking bar in downtown Hollywood. The front patio had several big wooden beer barrel tables with umbrellas for shade to chat with friends and drink. A dark interior with a massive wooden bar with sports decor on the walls. They offer domestic and craft beers on tap with a huge selection of scotch, tequila and whiskey. I ordered an ice cold Stone IPA brew on tap from the bartender, Jessica for $8.30.

Amazing. I wasn't expecting this. Let's start with the staff. This is a group of people that are either the most talented actors in the world or they all love working here and each others company. The esprit de corps is palpable, Ollie the bartender lead the way. The food is awesome, they even have a doggy menu! We had potato soup, very good (a touch salty but I never use salt so that is probably me) and chicken dish, (right above beer tips on the menu), excellent. That dish came with house made biscuits. I will drop the ultimate complement (I have never dropped this before) they reminded me of my grandfathers biscuits and let me tell you that old could back. Perfect flavor and the density; OMG, so heavy it could break your toe! Breadly heaven.

Delicious Food & Great Service! I had such a great experience here! The service was friendly, the food was amazing, and the prices were really reasonable. I tried the mussels and hand-cut fries--just an appetizer and a side, but the portions were super generous. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Definitely recommend!

Not great food the coating was soggy on the fish! The chips were great! Cole's great flavor. Buddy got a burger and well it was just a burger anyone else could do

Located in a nice little area, parking is questionable at best though. Nice, classic pub style with interesting decor. Well lit and very comfortable. One complaint...why, oh why, does the entertainment (soccer today) have to be so loud? Even the soccer hooligans were complaining about the volume. We ordered two beers on tap, Mickey's of course, they were perfect temperature wise, and it did not take very long at all for us to get our drinks. We started out with the Shepherd pie empanadas. The pastry on the pies was perfect .Light, flakey, held together nicely and the filling delivered on every level. The burger... well the patty was thicker than I would've liked but the quality of the meat was top notch. All of layers of this burger were fresh, proportioned perfectly and accentuated every bite. Just the right portion of fries, which were also quite enjoyable. Other than the excessively loud entertainment, the service was excellent. Our server was helpful and very polite. We even had an opportunity to speak to one of the cooks from the kitchen, and they are the ones that suggested the burger that we ordered. Next time we visit, and we will, we will probably take a seat outside a were the volume is a little more manageable.

If you truly want a local bar that feels like your local bar, this is it. Great servers. And food is above par. Great place to watch a football game or soccer. Although the TVs aren't the biggest the atmosphere more than overcompensates. Marc, the owner goes out of his way to make sure everyone's having a good time. And sponsors and organizes most of the great events in downtown Hollywood.

My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. We shared the potato soup and it was delicious. Yes we are the cute couple that shares even our soup. Kevin got the fish and chips and I got the Shepards pie. Omg the waitress was amazing.

Even though it is a freestanding restaurant, I am told that it can be difficult to find a spot. The venue offers live music on weekend evenings, but we finished eating before it began and were too tired to stay. The restaurant oozes the Irish pub decor and theme. Our waiter, Jordan, was exceptionally friendly and jovial. And he was a master at suggesting alcoholic beverages, once you let him know your likes. We had 2 orders of Irish potato soup, 2 Shepherd's pies with cheddar cheese, 2 orders of the Guinness beef and mushroom pie, 1 cabbage rolls, and one fish and chips. The soup was filled with bacon bits and creamy and luscious. The Guinness pot pies were a bit small, especially because they were so savory. The accompanying mashed potatoes did not come with gravy and there wasn't enough from the pot pies to cover it. The veggies that came with all the entrees were freshly made and without any seasoning. (But it is better to add salt and pepper than to try and remove it.) The fish was a decent size serving, but again, no real seasoning. Nothing that some salt, pepper, and malt vinegar couldn't rectify. The coating was light and crispy. Our alcoholic beverages (Guinness, wine, and a couple of specialty cocktails) were thirst quenching and satisfying. (I loved my prickly pear margarita.) Dinner for 6, including 2 soups, 6 entrees, 8 drinks, tax, and tip was $300.

When we first pulled up, the parking lot was nearly empty, and inside there were only a few people scattered around. My companion went straight to the restroom, so I found a seat at the bar. The first thing we were told was that the kitchen was already closed even though it was only 9 PM which was a bit disappointing since I was hungry. Since it's an Irish pub, they mainly serve beer and wine, so I ordered a Guinness followed by a light beer. Despite the slow start, the night turned out to be unexpectedly enjoyable. We ended up meeting some wonderful people from Italy, Poland, and Turkey. It was especially nice connecting with the gentleman from Turkey, as I had traveled there last year, and we had a great conversation about that experience. The same went for the gentleman from Italy. It was refreshing and easy to talk to everyone. Even after closing, we stayed outside for a while continuing our conversations.
