At the far end of the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, we were excited to use our Pub Passport with a visit to The Hollywood Brewery. As soon as we reached the top of the concrete steps, we couldn't help but notice the impressive row of shiny beer vats gleaming behind the bar's front windows. I turned to my wife and said, "This is picture time!"--the place had a vibrant, inviting energy. Every outdoor patio table was packed with people enjoying fresh craft beers and delicious food. We ventured inside the taproom, which was spacious and well-designed, with a full liquor bar and several of the brewery's beers on tap. The atmosphere inside was relaxed, small tasty menu and great brew--exactly what you want in a brewery. Karla, our server, greeted us with a warm and engaging personality, instantly making us feel like we were in the right place for a fun evening. Soon after, the owner came over to introduce himself and striked up a conversation about his fourteen years in business, which made the experience feel even more personal and welcoming. Based on Karla's recommendations, we ordered a Hollywood Wheat 4.3% and a RoadHead IPA 6.3% both were poured right in front of us and were ice cold and thirst quenching. Best burger we've had in Florida!! Stopped by here as we explored the boardwalk. What a great find! They have a lovely patio facing the turquoise waters and white sandy beach. The service is very attentive and friendly. We had the Truffle burger and the Smoked fish dip with chips. The fish dip was new to us and we enjoyed this new food. It is a generous portion and could be a meal in itself. The real star was the burger! We ordered the Truffle burger which is served with sautéed spinach on the burger- again new for us - but wow!! Ambiance: Brewery located right off the beach with beach shack vibes and patio seating! Beautiful views and quick service! We enjoyed the coconut shrimp and a few of their beers. I've walked past Hollywood Brewing probably 500 times and never stopped. Then, I saw a recommendation on a local social media page and happened to see a Groupon. I figured "Why not?, bought it and figured we'd give it a try. We stopped after a sunny afternoon walk along the Broadwalk and planned to use the Groupon for some nice, cold beers. We asked the server and she stated the we were unable to use at that time, I believe because it was "Happy Hour." I didn't see restrictions when I purchased, but nonetheless we ordered 2 beers. Once the waitress realized that we did not want to order food - We never saw her again. We were there for every bit of 30 min. No offer for water. No inquiry as to whether we wanted another round. I can tell you that we did not, as the beer wasn't great. The service by this particular server, was horrible. I did see other guests receiving better service, although none of those servers offered to assist us. In the future, I'll continue to simply walk past. Each and every time. There are so many options on the Broadwalk, there's no need to settle for poor service. read more

I recently spent 10 days in Hollywood and went to the Hollywood Brewery 3 times. Each time I ate there and had an array of fabulous foods such as grilled mahi mahi, huge Norweigen shrimp, sausage platter and a terrific seafood pizza. They also filled my growler each time which was very nice. But the overwhelming best parts was the warm welcomes by Johnny Q and his entire staff. The service was very mediocre. The person in my party has ordered their food before mine and the waitress completely forgot about their order. we were so confused as to why and how she forgot. The person placed their food first and i put in my order 10 minutes after, the waitress asked if i would like to order anything else since the kitchen was closing, and e both replied no. 30 minutes later i got my food, the person who ordered before still has not received their food. at this point the kitchen has closed and the person still has not received food. we questioned waitress how long does it take to make pasta she said 8 mins so we were confused as to why it is taking 45 mins for pasta then. she still didn't realize she forgot the pasta so we went inside to the bar to request our pasta and we were told that the kitchen was closed. so of course we were upset. the waitress came back saying she spoke to chef and will get us our pasta. we finally got the food after an hour when it only takes 8 mins to make it. Stopped here on our last night in Hollywood Beach for some easy food, wasn't looking for anything crazy. We started off with the honey garlic wings and calzone bites. Wings were good, but the calzone bites surprised us! They had a thin dough, reminding of us wonton wrapper. They were very good! I had the pesto sandwich, which was pretty good, but a tad bit dry. They were out of a lot of things so the menu was limited before we even had a chance to order. The bathroom had no hot water which made me question the cleanliness. It took time to get our order but at least the waitress warned us they were backed up by at least 45 min. The place didn't have that many people so I'm guessing they didn't have enough cooks. The Norwegian shrimp appetizer was good but the entree was not appetizing to look at at all when it arrived. The tuna steak sandwich was over seasoned. The grilled vegetables were greasy and salty. The beer was okay. I would've probably given them a lower rating but when my date left her credit card behind and only noticed the next day, they had kept it behind the bar waiting for her to come back for it. I give them the benefit of the doubt on staffing and food supplier issues but the lack of hot water in a dirty bathroom... Update: I appreciate the response from the restaurant. I did know the shrimp came head on. I had no problem with it. I've have this type of shrimp before. I just thought the angle of the pic make the shrimp look like it was smiling and thought it was funny. Now, on the other hand, waiting 30 seconds for hot water to come out of the faucet doesn't sound like that's how plumbing is supposed to work. I wasn't in a rush but when you turn a handle and nothing comes out and it makes no noise as if something is trying to come out then you give up and just use cold water. We took a trip down to Hollywood Brewing yesterday because it was part of our pub pass. Based on Yelp, the views looked great and we have family in town so we thought it would be a good spot. It was fine, but that's all I can say. Not very impressed, it's definitely not your typical brewery, they have plenty of food but not enough brews. They do have beer flights, which I enjoy. Parking is horrendous cause of the beach - not their fault at all. Service was good, glad we came but not my favorite and don't feel like we need to come back. My friends and I popped in for a snack break after some fun in the sun. It's located right off the beach so great location. There's outdoor seating, but we went inside because we had already spent so much time in the sun. The giant pretzel is served with beer cheese and honey mustard. The pretzel was great, but how can you go wrong? The beer cheese was a little thick. And continued to thicken as it cooled. 8/10 The chips and guacamole was alright. I personally prefer thinner crispy chips, but my husband liked it. The guac needed some acid and salt. 7/10 The Korean BBQ wings were very nicely cooked. My boyfriend is an IPA and craft beer aficionado, so we went to try this place. The place is across the ocean, good location. HOWEVER, everything else is poor! We got there around 3 pm and the empty tables were all dirty. We were told to sit at any of the empty and dirty tables, but took the waitstaff to come back to get the table clean over 10 minutes. Another 7 minutes to take the drink order. Finally ordered burgers. The waitress, Nadia, did not look like she wanted to be there and was rude and annoyed to be working. We ordered burgers that came PLAIN: bread, patty, bread. No condiments, no lettuce, tomato, pickles, nothing. Nadia came back with lettuce, one slice of tomato and a mini dish with a few pickle slices from a jar, then we were charged $3 for the pickles. I can't believe I found this beer brewery right on the Hollywood boardwalk. After been to a few other local beer breweries in the area, I was looking forward to pay a visit. They don't really have a huge selection of beers, but I really like IPAs and lagers anyways. I decided to go with their Roadhouse IPA in this visit. I like it because it looks bright and taste hoppy. I can taste a little citrus in the beer which made it feel refreshing. When we were there, we were the only table. Even it was a nice Friday afternoon, I guess many people were either still at work, or still getting over cleaning up or taking down the hurricane shutters off after Hurricane Dorian. But the bartender was very friendly and helpful even we were just having drinks and not ordering any food. He even offered a beer for us to sample, which I'll probably be ordering that in our next visit. read more

Nothing overly special or different. We liked it, but it wasn't a reason to return. The food was fine as well. Again, it wasn't bad, but there was nothing special about it. The fries were fine. The fried pickles were average. The chicken tenders weren't great. The prices were higher than average, which I would expect for the location. The service was good. We didn't have empty glasses for long, but we were also the only ones there, so there's that. If I'm choosing a craft beer place in the Broward area, I'm making a lot of other stops before I find my way back to Hollywood. If I'm at the beach and looking for a drink, this would be a good stop. My new beach hangout spot! This is an actual brewery right on Hollywood Beach! A great selection of IPA's plus a full bar and great menu. We ordered sangria and Bushka Stout and avocado egg rolls which I highly recommend . This restaurant is right on the beach & perfect for people watching. The staff was very friendly. Our waitress was Olga. She was great! We spent $37 (without tip) for 3 drinks and an appetizer...not bad. The have daily specials as well. Great service, food, drinks and atmosphere.
