Love to come in just to watch the 3D now that the Space Mountain Theatre is not being used (in a long time). This is a great experience for everyone, especially children of any age. Best time to see it? Anytime! Hoping it wil lbe open during the Avatar attraction construction. NOTE: If you have children under 2, the music volume is loud in certain scenes, so be sure to distract them should they start fussing or crying.

This is one of my favorite things to do at Disney California Adventure! Not only is this show in the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land one of my favorite things but it has so many benefits like----almost never having a line. That's a hugggggge plus! This 12 minute show also offers a respite in air conditioning while you sit back and watch the 4D show of songs & mayhem with Donald Duck helming the ship of chaos. I love this show ~so~ much but I do wish they'd make some updates to modernize and clean it up a bit. However, I'm fine with it as is, as well, and will be singing along very softly the entire show every time I go. I'm a private room karaoke qween. Songs included are Be Our Guest, Part of Your World, I Just Can't Wait To Be King, and You Can Fly plus the creepy broom song from Fantasia. To be fair, they did add Un Poco Loco from Coco in 2021 so it's not like they've made zero updates at all to this film. Though that song makes the most sense for this - in terms of bangable hits, Don't Talk About Bruno is a way bigger hit? But I digress! But though I am complaining about updates being needed, just wanted to point out there was that 1 update to it 4 years ago. As an adult, I loved this, but I am a Disney Adult, Disney Freak, Disney Geek - whatever horrific slur you want to bestow upon me!!!! LOL I'm one of them, sadly, and so my bias is that I automatically love most things Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, etc. But even with my bias, I feel like I'm fairly fair haha and I really do think it's enjoyable for ALL ages! Maybe not over and over but at least to check out once. Mickey's Philharmagic needs a bit of updating but overall, still one of my must dos while I'm at Disneyland!

If you need a break from the blazing sun this is a great option for a cool down. You'll be directed into the lobby. Once doors open you'll proceed to an open seating theater. Plenty of room, every seat is a good view. 3D experience is cute with some wind action during flying scenes. I'd prob make this a regular stop in the summer or just to give my feet a rest. Great hospitality right next to monsters inc.

Sunset Showcase in Hollywood Land is a beautiful grand theater with a drop curtain & LOTS of seating!!

Hubby, our daughters and I really enjoyed this 12-minute, 3D movie! In fact it will probably be one of the most memorable experiences that we'll be returning to again and again! I won't give too much of the movie short away, but you'll enjoy singing along to several Disney classics with some comedy mixed in, thanks to Donald Duck! I would highly recommend this fun movie, especially if you're sore and tired and looking to relax! I know we were! The Sunset Showcase in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure Park is a beautiful grand theater with a drop curtain and LOTS of seating!! It opened in 2015. We are looking forward to returning! :D

Another place I always walk by and never go inside. I wanna go in all the places I've never been and that's what makes me a good yelper to be honest. I'm so glad we went inside. Such a good show. Perfect place to get inside and get out of the heat. I could imagine.I didn't deal with any heat on the trip thank God! for all you Disney singers that know all the songs ,this is something for you ! Sing the best parts to your favorite songs to all best Disney Classics All in 3-D five stars!

I sat through one of these "magical" performances with my family. My nephew loved it to be honest. This is for the kids. I could definitely skip this though, personally. But the positives are getting to rest your feet and be inside somewhere. That part is nice. Especially if it is hot outside or raining outside. It is located in Hollywood land at DCA. It's a 3D show; so, if you don't do well with 3D things or wearing glasses on your face, then you may wanna not do this adventure. Not a bad place to rest and recuperate before you figure out what is next in the park.

Definitely a must stop! This is a fun little show and a great way to cool off and rest during the hot parts of the day. The seats are comfortable and plenty! The show occurred every 20 mins and last 13 min total. It is a 3D experience with some 4D smells and feels.

This is really such a treat to watch, especially if you're a big Disney music nerd and consider the 90s Disney Renaissance to be the best era of Disney animation. It's in the theater where the Muppets 3-D show used to be, and to be honest, I think Mickey's PhilharMagic is an improvement! This is a 12-minute film, so it's a really nice short respite from walking around the park under the sun. Pretty much the premise is that Donald Duck messes everything up for Mickey and the whole orchestra by doing what he should not be doing--wearing Mickey's Sorcerer Hat. He angers the instruments, and gets sucked into a vortex that takes him through different Disney movies and iconic musical scenes while he tries to retrieve Micky's hat. These are the included segments: "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" from Fantasia "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" from The Lion King "Un Poco Loco" from Coco "You Can Fly!" from Peter Pan "A Whole New World" from Aladdin "Mickey Mouse March" from The Mickey Mouse Club Really wonderful and nostalgic 3D short movie. Worth basking in musical nostalgia!

Cute poster leading into the theater show

My only gripe is this should be called Donald Duck's PhilharMagic, cuz Mickey hardly appears! But yeah, I love the posters in the queue that are spoofing real shows. I even got to tell my lady all about the origins of I Pagliacci, which has dark themes but I loved seeing the whale character in the spoof poster. The show itself is adorable, with Donald running amok.

10-1-21 Dont be fooled by the waiting room because the side doors will open up to a larger theater. When given the signal, put on the yellow 3D glasses. It reminds me of the former Bug's Life theater without the feeling of something scrambling under your seat. There is still the gust of air and light wet drops from above you can feel on your seated thighs unless you are wearing long pants or a skirt. A good option for a quick shut eye if you need it out of the sun in a darkened setting.

Date of most recent visit: October 30, 2021 Mickey's PhilharMagic has been the replacement for the Muppets 3-D show since 2019; it's been a staple at Walt Disney World, and honestly I'm glad to have it here (the Muppets show honestly looked a bit dated). Basically, Mickey's about to conduct a musical performance, and Donald screws up by messing with Mickey's magical hat... which causes him to chase after it through various classics like Peter Pan, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Fantasia, Aladdin, and the newly added Coco. All of these scenes are in glorious 3D, and the visuals are very clear. The lobby area where you wait to be let in is spacious enough to allow for social distancing, and the theater is cool enough to provide a nice break during the summer months. Don't forget to look at the back of the room before the show ends - it's a nice holdover from the Muppets 3-D show! (I thought it was an Animatronic; nope, it's a screen projection...)

Mickey's Philharmagic is a 3D movie located at Disneyland's California Adventure within Hollywood land next to Monster's Inc Ride and Turtle Crush. Disneyworld also has Mickey's Philharmagic at Magic Kingdom. You walk into the pre-show area. My daughter and I didn't get a chance to see the pre-show, but we greeted by a cast member and informed to go straight into the opened doors right into the theater. The theater was relatively empty. We were also provided 3D glasses. We had great seats, in the middle of the auditorium. The show was a wonderful experience! It's one of my favorites at Disney World Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland, as well. It's a enchanting musical adventure where you'll hear classic songs from Peter Pan, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Fantasia, and the newly recent added Coco. If you enjoy musicals, I'd highly recommend this show. The 3D aspects of the show isn't too bad, however, if you get motion sickness easily, I'd highly recommend avoiding the show. The room is air conditioned. It's a nice break if you're visiting California during the summer.

Super cute 3D show. A bit of a hidden gem in California Disney Adventure and a nice opportunity to sit indoors if you need a quick break.

While I had not heard too much about it, I dedicated my whole day to exploring DLR and wanted to make the most of it. That being said, I purchased a Park Hopper ticket and made my way over after spending the first have the day in DL. Opened in 2001, DCA was not an immediate hit at its debut. In fact, it took a major facelift in order to start gaining some traction in terms of park attendance. The park is Disney's interpretation of California, separated into different lands based on regional areas of the state or by Disney IP. Some of the strongest areas IMO are San Fransokyo Square, paying homage to the Asian heritage in SF, and Pixar Pier which is a huge area combining Disney-Pixar theming with vintage California coastal vibes. While I feel this is the more adult park when comparing it to DL, there is a lot for kids to do here as well. There's a also a strong selection of attractions, and the shopping and dining are also decent. I took a spin on the parks icon - the Pixar Pal-a-Round, which provided awesome views of the park and greater Anaheim area. If comparing DCA to DL, it's my opinion the former is the stronger park - the theming and types of attractions speak to me more. Overall, I thought DCA was great - it's definitely an enhancement DLR as a whole, and I would no doubt return next time I plan a visit here.

I came back for this visit since my kids' Cub Scout group was celebrating their year end achievements and it was a great opportunity to join our community and give it another shot for the kids. They also were older and not on the baby pool. Well, I'm so glad I did. Despite the renovations going on, things seemed more organized and clean. The check- in process was much more streamlined and efficient and our rooms were ready and clean (no carpets!! Yay clean room!) with a view that wasn't great since the climbing area was literally right outside, but the kids loved it! Everyone still gets their free wolf ears too. The restaurant breakfast buffet had staff around to mind all the little and big hands reaching for food and we had a "breakfast taco bar" the family really enjoyed. The pool is full of flavors for all age levels and adventurers but a treat for me was seeing the outside pool area- there were loungers in the water, shaded regular seats, cabanas and no echos. It was like a resort! Inside is louder and humid while outside is full sun but open. Something for everyone. Lots of fun free and paid activities so be sure to check the schedule. We took part in story time (free) and yoga (free). I also appreciated the midweek crowd level even for a summer. I recommend you give it a try to see if it's a fit for your family! Okay thanks bye

The free games were the blue tap games, so you don't earn tickets, but there were still a ton of fun options. We didn't even come close to using the full 3 hours because there was so much to do. My favorites were the basketball games and Connect 4 basketball. We played a few rounds of laser tag, which was super fun, but a lot of the equipment seemed broken that day. They also couldn't split us into teams, so everyone was playing individually instead. The go-karts were really fun for a group we got a whole round to just our coworkers. Some of the karts definitely felt faster than others, which made things interesting. We also did mini golf, and the course was much bigger than I expected. It took quite a while to get through all the holes. One thing to note is that the rides don't always have staff standing by them. This was a good value compared to regular prices. Enjoyed the go carts twice; attendants were very patient with customers and trouble makers. Cart track is super fun, carts ran well, fun competition! Bumper boats were closed; perhaps weather isn't warm enough yet or demand was low. Two fountain sodas at the snack bar were $13. Pretty outrageous. Tried to use the batting cages. Our unlimited pass didn't seem to apply however, which was disappointing, as our key cards were unable to activate the cages in two different lanes. We moved on to mini golf. Well lit and good music is the best I can say. Overall I can tell the courses have been improving from a maintenance standpoint but the greens are TERRIBLE. If you have to putt over broken turf or your ball gets stuck in a pit of death that used to be part of the brick border, it disrupts the fun and becomes frustrating. Seriously, Boomers. Put some of that ridiculous soda pop revenue into fixing your miserable astroturf. There were tears and holes everywhere. The arcade gets periodically updated but we didn't use it this time due to time constraints. Always had fun on the multitude of games available. Same with laser tag, we just ran out of time. Was not crazy about the process for golf putters and bats for the batting cages. There only seemed to be one person in charge of handing these out from the desk and they were stuck handling a long ticket line so we pretty much helped ourselves by reaching over the counter and grabbing what we needed.
