    laser tag
    Becky C.

I came to Boomers for a corporate event, and honestly, it was a pretty good package. We got unlimited rides, go-karts, laser tag, and 3 hours of free gameplay. The free games were the blue tap games, so you don't earn tickets, but there were still a ton of fun options. We didn't even come close to using the full 3 hours because there was so much to do. My favorites were the basketball games and Connect 4 basketball. We played a few rounds of laser tag, which was super fun, but a lot of the equipment seemed broken that day. They also couldn't split us into teams, so everyone was playing individually instead. The go-karts were really fun for a group we got a whole round to just our coworkers. Some of the karts definitely felt faster than others, which made things interesting. We also did mini golf, and the course was much bigger than I expected. It took quite a while to get through all the holes. One thing to note is that the rides don't always have staff standing by them. If you want to ride something, you may have to find an employee and ask them to operate it. Overall, there was honestly more to do than we could fit into the 3 hours. We didn't even get to everything we wanted to try. Despite a few operational issues, we had a really fun time and felt like the event package offered a lot of value.

Boomers is a classic amusement park located in Irvine. It has attractions like go karts, laser tag, arcade games, mini golf, bumper boats, and batting cages. There's also a full bar and amusement park food like pizza. We played 18 holes of mini golf at night which was fun. You can pay for things individually or you can buy a bundle or unlimited pass. It's a casual spot that's family friendly but also good for dates and group outings. It's a fun activity for a couple hours.

Never knew this place existed until this past weekend, it is expensive but if you stay for a few hours it makes up for it with the unlimited pass. This past weekend the downfall we had were two of the rides were closed down. Tons of parking, never had an issue with staff everyone was acknowledgeable, nice and explained how the process works. Bought the tickets online to save, this place has rides, arcades, and food. I suggest going right when it opens, the mini golf gets super crowded so the kids and I just kept playing in random courses to avoid the long lines. Surprisingly the food wasn't bad at all, it is pricey, but favorable. I also enjoyed the fact that the claw machine wasn't a scam like most places, my kids enjoyed the fact that they were able to win plushies that was the highlight of my time.

Holy cow this place is expensive. So grateful to my dad for paying for us all to go. It's $50 per kid to have unlimited for the day, including 20 credits at the arcade, which barely covers anything. My kids loved the go-karts and the starship zero gravity spinning ride and laser tag. Go when it opens because it gets really crowded in the second half of the day. Boomers has been around basically my whole life so I'm happy for them that they've found a way to stay open all this time. Food reviews- expensive but pretty good. My bro liked the quesadilla, the kids liked their chicken, my dad liked his burger, and my other bro and I shared the nacho avalanche- definitely don't try to eat the nachos alone. They're huge. Also I added steak for protein- turns out they come with meat even if you don't ask for it (chili) so no need to pay more for that. And if you're vegetarian, now you know not to get those. The chili is kinda spicy and pretty gross so I wouldn't get those again.

This place looks fun from the outside but once inside everything is falling apart. Specifically I mean the outside stuff, especially the mini golf course. Every hole has messed up carpet that impacts the game.

Shameful lack of maintenance of the greens on the mini golf course

Have visited many times over the years. Many changes over time, some good. Last night I went with my teenage son and arrived less than two hours before closing which meant we each got an unlimited attraction pass for $29. This was a good value compared to regular prices. Enjoyed the go carts twice; attendants were very patient with customers and trouble makers. Cart track is super fun, carts ran well, fun competition! Bumper boats were closed; perhaps weather isn't warm enough yet or demand was low. Two fountain sodas at the snack bar were $13. Pretty outrageous. Tried to use the batting cages. Our unlimited pass didn't seem to apply however, which was disappointing, as our key cards were unable to activate the cages in two different lanes. We moved on to mini golf. Well lit and good music is the best I can say. Overall I can tell the courses have been improving from a maintenance standpoint but the greens are TERRIBLE. If you have to putt over broken turf or your ball gets stuck in a pit of death that used to be part of the brick border, it disrupts the fun and becomes frustrating. Seriously, Boomers. Put some of that ridiculous soda pop revenue into fixing your miserable astroturf. There were tears and holes everywhere. The arcade gets periodically updated but we didn't use it this time due to time constraints. Always had fun on the multitude of games available. Same with laser tag, we just ran out of time. Was not crazy about the process for golf putters and bats for the batting cages. There only seemed to be one person in charge of handing these out from the desk and they were stuck handling a long ticket line so we pretty much helped ourselves by reaching over the counter and grabbing what we needed.

Lots of parking. Great service. Clean restrooms. Not too much for little kids under 5 to do. But this was a great experience. Came to a birthday party here. The Weber in the party room was beyond great. He went over and beyond. All of the workers for the rides were amazing except one girl. We didn't get her name but everyone there tried to avoid every ride she had to work at. If you're not going to be nice, find another job where you don't deal with people Other than that, it was a fun time. Nov 7 Sunday I beleive it was 3 or 4 pizzas, wings and two sodas and one kids drink

    Two mini golf courses

Nice facility for a good time out for adults and kids alike. I've been here a few times the past year or so and have tried pretty much all of their offerings. Mini golf is $18/adult. There are two courses and each course takes about an hr or so. You can pay once and do both courses. I went most recently on a Friday evening and it was pretty crowded though, so I would say maybe half the time on the course was waiting for the party in front of you. Just keep that in mind. The go-karts are pretty standard. The wait for the go-karts can be long because the turn cycle can take awhile since the workers need to check if everyone is properly wearing a seatbelt, etc. The laser tag was solid. Sometimes the guns don't work so just make sure you test your equipment before the game starts, otherwise you really can't participate and you have to wait in line again (this happened to me once...). I would avoid the arcade games. They are too expensive. Some games are $2-3 just for one game. The batting cages are pretty neat. Not sure how many other batting cages there are in OC. But here it is $5 for a round of 25 balls. They also have bats and helmets you can borrow for free. Overall a decent place to hang out and have fun. It can be easy to spend a lot though so I would limit yourself to 1-2 attractions or just get the all-day pass. Even then I think the all-day pass is $45 so still pricey.

I come here for the batting cages to practice for my softball games. The pros are that it is relatively not busy when I come, however, the machines are hit or miss in terms of actually working and pitching at the right level and a whole host of other factors. This is a very convenient location and the employees are nice so all in all I would come back. $4.00 for 25 pitches or you can get a value 6pack for $20.00. If you have the Bowlero summer pass with arcade, it works here also! Casual. Please come and create your own adventure.

Boomers still really needs a bit of TLC or maybe a makeover! I came here last night for a birthday party and while it was very fun, I can see some areas where Boomers could be a lot better. First off, the area where you eat was so LOUD...I'm thinking that's where the music speakers must be. We literally had to yell to hear one another. Also, they have giant TVs up, but I noticed that they had the intro screen on, versus playing the actually movie. They could also use the TVs to play sports games for the parents while kids are playing. The food was what you'd expect. Pizza was pretty good, and then they have fries, chicken strips, dip n dots, icees, etc. I played laser tag for the first time ever, despite coming to Boomers since I was a little kid. It's $18 per person, which felt pretty high, since you only get 10 minutes. The space inside to play was fun but pretty basic. There were some hiding areas and red and blue colored lights - I'd love them to use a black light or have some more fun colors. It smelled like they are in need of some new carpet or a deep cleaning for sure. It has a real musty smell. The bathrooms were atrocious. Many toilets weren't flushing, stalls without toilet paper and trash on the ground. Every time I have been to Boomers lately I just think about how they could really put in a little $ to make it that much better! I'm sure they're making decent money, cuz it's not super cheap. I do love the mini golf and all around nostalgia this place brings!

When you walk in, it's a little confusing at first since it's not super clear where to go and the place is pretty spacious. We initially went to the cashier, and they directed us to the computers on the side to sign the waivers first, then come back to pay. After we paid, they told us the wait would be about 30 minutes, but surprisingly they called our names within just 2 to 3 minutes while we were still walking around. That was a nice bonus. :) They provided headsocks for free, and we didn't have to pay extra or sign up for any annual membership. Each race is supposed to be 12 laps, but if someone finishes early, you might end up doing less. One of the boys completed 11 laps, but didn't affect the experience at all. As we were exiting, we saw a podium area so kids hopped on for a quick photo. I've been here before for birthday parties and even with coworkers, and every time has been consistently fun. The staff was friendly and everything ran smoothly. Not really sure why this place gets some negative reviews. I haven't experienced anything negative. Would definitely come back.

Overall though this park has not changed, it's like being in a time capsule which was amazing. All my memories came flooding back of my childhood, my senior trip with friends from high school and even visiting with my mom when I was older and she came to see old co-worker friends. Now I have new requirements and it's not so easy I have epilepsy, fibromyalgia and some other things that prevent me from being in lines or around large crowds so standing in one guest services line for an extended period each day to get accommodations doesn't make sense. The app is also not very user friendly for getting a membership for exactly the same price as a 6month season pass. If you pay one price you should get the same benefits so in my opinion whether you pay in full or monthly it should be annual membership. Be very careful on everything and read in depth details because drink pass and food pass may be for a month not length of pass and you'll need to renew. I do love Knott's but more for enjoying a walk and some delicious food. I would go for memories and potentially catch a show or take a picture with Snoopy. I love the little shops and the VIP lounge for AC. I do appreciate the amount of gluten free options throughout the park it helps me not pass out.

The percentage of negative reviews is probably not a blip on the great scheme of things. People always writes reviews when something negative happens but when things go right majority of people dont. You go here and expect madness. Kids everywhere, crowds, etc. You want tranquil all to yourself feel and vibes, go vacation to a remote island somewhere. This is for the kids. Plenty of things to do. The water slides are enough to keep kids having fun for a while. For added fees there are other optional activities but seems more geared toward younger kids. so why 4 out of 5 stars? Because I've been to the one in northern california (manteca). This property seems older. More crowded, and just doesnt have the same lodge vibes. There simply isnt the same WOW factor as the Manteca location. There is no parking garage in Manteca but instead a vast land of parking spaces. So the Lodge just commands attention and shows you are about to enter something grand. Here they use a parking structure and although efficient it just doesnt give of same vibes. The "Grand Lobby" here is also just meh. The area and space seems so fragmented and doesnt have a good flow. The manteca location is structured so well. You walk in from the main entrance and you are really in a Grand Lobby with the towering fireplace. Here its off to the side and now filled with arcade games. That fireplace is usually the photo spot for families in Manteca. Here you really dont have that. People have said the waterpark itself is better here. If it is, I didn't notice it too much. It isn't that much better to really matter. The wave pool here definitely is stronger which is very cool. But the lazy river, and everything else seems on par. I believe they have an extra attraction with the surf/wake board simulator. So IMO, the Manteca location is better overall. But this is a much better location being in SoCal with lots of other things to do here. While Manteca is basically nothing but Great Wolf Lodge.

Details below. -parking was easy. -room check in at the kiosk was easy. -the kiosk printed our wristbands out. -I got a text with our room number about 30 min later (I would have preferred no wait, but it was the busy check in time). -we went to dinner at BJs down the road, no wait, very good 2 family dinner. Great M-F deals. -my kids did the high ropes course and liked it. We hit the arcade for about 15 minutes, they didn't really like it (but it's under construction, they were moving machines up into the lobby). -I brought chocolate croissants and muffins, we ate bfast in the room. The rooms have large mini fridges, there's a small microwave where the ice machines are on each floor, there's a good enough weird coffee machine in each room. -we loaded our regular bags into the car, checked out of our of the room at 9:40, got into the line for the pool. -got plenty of chairs together for the adults. -my advice: you do not needs chairs for each kid, especially older kids. They stop by, sit, and bounce. Most people eat at the tables, there are signs that people can only sit at tables for 30 min, we never had a problem eating at tables (it's so much easier). Don't waste a bunch of chairs on kids who never use them.... -the bar drinks at the pool were very very good. the Bloody Mary was the best one I've ever had. Yep. We had a mango pineapple rum drink that was so good, not too sweet at all. -every staff member we encountered was on point, very helpful and kind. -I charged everything using my wristband, very easy. CONS: -I've been several times. In my option, the pizza place is the only food worth getting when you are at the pool. The Bucket food place in the pool area is just not good, it's very cafeteria and expensive. -I saw about 15 people slip and fall, mostly near the life jacket stand outside the wave pool. Like full on hard falls. An employee has a floor squeegee, but it's pretty useless. Even people walking slipped. -the headboards in the renovated rooms are pretty bad and dangerous. They have posts spaced out like 5 inches that have right-edge corners, so, sharp. And the pillows are not enough and not fluffy. When you lean back, your head slams into those pillar posts. My daughter's head went right between two posts so she hit both sides of her head on the posts. I hit my head too. Who the hell thought that was a great design? After that issue, I noticed all the hard corners on everything in the room. My kids are older now, but parents or younger kids, take note.
