Make sure you watch the cashiers like a hawk if you're purchasing anything with a serial number, they scanned the wrong one when I purchased a GPU years ago and caused all sorts of issues for their silly trade-in program. Micro Center is an excellent choice for your technological needs. They have everything from computer parts to already-built computers, accessories, and even people who will service your technology. The one thing I enjoy the most about coming here is the fact that I don't have to walk in and immediately be made to feel like I'm a lost soul in a sea of electronics. We've bought computer parts from here before when building our gaming PCs and have had no issues. They have a great many selection of computer cases from the well-known manufacturers, they even have fancy lighted ones! I ended up with matching monitors for the PC we built for a great price. Associates will leave you alone to browse but will gladly assist when needed. Most recently, I've been here to buy some computer accessories (for gaming or otherwise). They do run some sales and a lot of the times, the deals are really better than what I could get something for online! Also, I love the fact that I can purchase an item online from their website, wait 10-20 minutes before heading to the store and your merchandise is ready! I like efficiency in my life and this place has become one of those places where I can browse online, make the purchase, pick it up! This store not only saves me money but my "outside" time as well. I've been shopping at this location for many years. However since they're the only place in town that has everything I give them the business. WELL THAT IS THE RIGHT DECISION!!! I will bet between my company and personally we've bought 20 computers in the last several years. In January purchased a high end computer for video editing... It worked great for two weeks and then started having issues. I spent at least one week solid trying to fix it check drivers etc. I called the manufacturer they told me they would have someone at Micro Center call me back... Within 30 minutes I had a call and. the next day I had a new computer!!!!! When you see the men in blue coat make sure you say hello to them and the more they get to know you the better. While I'm an online buyer but son likes the immediate satisfaction of a in store purchase. Micro Center has a great selection of the latest tech. It is usually price competitive with the online powerhouses. The few times we have spoken to a sale rep they were helpful to confirm our understanding and not overly high pressure given the obvious fact they are commissioned. Easily accessible electronic store with friendly staff. However sometimes the staff can be overbearing. I'm pretty good with computers myself so I rarely need assistance in an electronic store unless its to locate something I need. However, there have been times where I go to micro center and the staff continue to come to me to offer suggestions on what I should purchase. It wouldn't be an issue except these suggestions rarely alter what I planned to buy to begin with. Yet in the times when I have needed to find an employee for assistance, they have not been far away and have been very knowledgeable about what I needed. They have an excellent selection of electronics and accessories. I've purchased an external hard drive, wireless mouse, and USB to ethernet adapter here that have each stood the test of time thus far. I like microcenter, because we don't have a frys nearby. I was reading the reviews and seems like most of the complaints are from Mac users who was sent to MC by Apple who couldn't even help them in the first place. Why leave a bad review for a company that's actually trying to help solve your problems? When you should be talking about how Apple made a poor product that needs repairs which Apple couldn't even fix. Again I like MC and still shop there all the time, but about 3 years ago I was wondering around the pc section for about 45mins before I got someone to help me... I literally had to ask 3 different salesman before I got one that was "willing" to assist me, no one asked me if I needed help. Anyway I had 45mins to figure out which laptops I wanted so when I finally got a salesman he didn't have a chance to up sell anything(missed opportunity). I bought 2 gaming laptops that day. Had there been another option or frys around they would have lost my business. Since then I've have no issues and always love getting the free usb/memory card fliers. My 2013 MacBook Pro had gotten a pressure crack on the Retina display, so I took it to a few places before ending up having it serviced by Ted at Micro Center. Ted , Micro Center's Apple guy, was extremely helpful and sent me text updates throughout the process of replacing the screen. When I received the the text to come pick up my laptop, I thanked Ted and headed into the store. I was directed by a staffer to head to the counter where Bob H. was standing. Bob H. seemed disinterested in helping me with my pickup, and was annoyed when I did not have a number, even though I never received one from Micro Center. This interaction really put a damper on the service experience, especially after being helped so well from Ted before. When I paid and left the counter, the service manager came up and shook my hand thanking me for my service. That was a nice touch. If you have any Apple issues, hit up Ted because he'll be your man! read more

Made a purchase online for pickup at the Brentwood Micro Center. Drove 45 minutes to the store and ended up canceling the order because there was an error on the web site. The photos clearly show two UPS batteries. One with two units together and two more photos of the units individually. Zooming in you can clearly see that the smaller unit is a Back-UPS 600. When the order was placed, I thought it was a package deal. The error was discovered at the pick-up window and the manager refused to honor what the site appeared to be selling. He said he can't be held responsible for photo mistakes on the site. Though he did admit that if it had been a pricing error, it would have been honored. In the end, the customer gets screwed. The extra star is for their selection. For any electronics/computer enthusiast, this is your place. Seems they got everything you would need. For me, desktop PCs are a thing of the past but I know people still use them. Unfortunately, of the few times I've been in here its mostly bad, pushy service from those blue-shirted, bearded, self-righteous computer/electronics buffs. I'm always appreciative if they ask me right away what I'm looking for, but then if I don't know the exact thing and why I need it, they always make it sound like I'm stupid. No, I'm not that smart on electronics supplies, honestly. Just today, I went in there looking for something (like cords, adapters) to plug my old VCR into my TCL 4K Roku TV. I had a couple parts in mind and I asked at least three different salespeople on the floor their opinion and they all had different answers of what I would need. Do they train these people, or are they like Best Buy (where they put clueless college kids on the floor)? One guy even told me to simply use a much cheaper A/V cord. I was trying to present what I wanted, clearly. Look, I appreciate that he was trying to help me save money but I'm very picky about my TV inputs. Long time customer (15+years) who has been receiving poor customer service and support from Micro Center Brentwood and online over the last 8+ months. Enough to drive me away as a customer. Quite possibly permanently. My recommendation: shop @ Newegg.com, you'll get better support! Issues I've had recently in the last 8 months: In store pick up items being canceled after the confirmation email went out that it's ready to pick up for NO apparent reason. Store contact info and phone numbers have recently been removed from google maps and other platforms (like google maps, Apple Maps, Yelp etc) purposely. Making any issues you might have a pain to get resolved. Items that they show as available online (where they direct you for inventory questions) are NOT accurate and the associates acknowledge their inventory is a total mess. Extended warranty's not being applied to items correctly when purchased If your into water cooling - forget this location - they are continuously out of stock on fittings and equipment and there is ZERO organization to how they display this. Your better bet is to buy online as nothing they have on their site reflects accurately when talking about water cooling parts. Online store orders getting canceled and the money being held on the credit card PAST 10 days! Apparently their inventory control is bad enough that their " shippable items" AKA online store says " May not be in stock at time of order. No back orders." On every item. The last several orders I've tried online have been canceled due to stock issues. Yet their inventory for in store pickup shows they have stock. Apparently they can't even ship from the stores. Using their new "chat agent option" has resulted in waits over 40 min averages the last couple of weeks. I've had enough of this store - they earn a hard PASS from me now. read more

This is the coolest store! I have bought computer items here for years. Several years ago, I actually had the courage to build my own computer, although I did have an expert check it over before plugging it in. The staff knows a lot about their products for sure. Several days ago, my wife went there to look at televisions. She always talks to the managers and gets their opinions on which one to buy. She bought an open box TV, which just didn't do it for us. So she called and spoke to the manager and he remembered her and happily told us to bring it back and check out another one. The manager even sweetened the deal by knocking off about 10%. They have outstanding customer service. We also upgraded our computer to solid state drives. They did it pretty fast. The only thing with that process was that I had to learn Windows 10 from 7. That was necessary with the upgrade. If you have ever checked it out, you should. They have really cool products as well as offer Apple products. We are lucky to have them in our city, as there are not too many of these stores around the country. read more

One stop shopping here for sure. Very helpful salespeople. Got a print/scan/fax machine for a freaking steal, like mindblowing. They were out of the megasale laptop we were seeking but they found my sister an awesome substitute in a hurry that she is quite happy with. Yep. I used to enjoy coming here and I do IF it is not for a return. There is usually only one employee at the return desk. Friendly though they may be if it takes my lunch hour to return something it just isn't worth my time. They have become big sellers of underwhelming monitors and over priced accessories. I had gone in to price match NewEgg (what they advertise in the store) with something. On their website it said to check store for inventory... so I called and waited and waited and waited, Decided to burn some time and head down. Not only did they not have it was told that if they special ordered it they would not price match. So, ordering it basically online at MC was going to be more costly than NewEgg. Oh well, off to the Internets for me... I think MC has outlived it usefulness for me. I find enough bits and pieces online and have not run across where I need something NOW. read more

Micro Center's the place to come if you know a little about computers and want better deals or more options than you'd find at a Target, Wal-Mart, or even Best Buy. Beware, though, because it can be a jungle in this place -- the hideous electric overhead lights, the unsettling uniformity of it all, and the sheer number of computer accessories can easily get overwhelming. Instinctively, I'd distrust the employees here. I'm pretty sure they all work on commission, which tends to make me a little wary. As an experienced computer user, I'd know what I wanted before I entered, just to be safe (e.g., "the most inexpensive hard drive you have"). The advantage to a place like Micro Center over, say, an online retailer like Newegg is that you can really see the parts, etc. in action before you buy. Sometimes that can be worth the 10% markup or so over what you can tend to find online. Play around with that mouse, in other words, before you nab it. Definitely make Micro Center your first electronics store in town, though. Just be smart, savvy, and never buy your cables anywhere else. read more

Isn't interesting that business that wish to reach out to a customer complaint never really takes the time to see how as a business they dropped the ball in the first place. This is always a glaring management issue. If you notice with these businesses the management is always there but the employees always seem to be transient or different over the course of time. Micro Center might be the best AV store in St. Louis. They actually have so much stuff that it can be intimidating at first but there is always an employee ready to help you -- and to put their little sticker on your merchandise so they can get credit for doing so. It might be helpful to order online and then do in store pick up so you don't have to wander the aisles. I dropped my Macbook off, and I was never told how long the turn around time was (I expected it to be the same day or within two days like their website offers), it was 7 days before they even looked at it and when I called to ask, I was made to sound like an idiot and we're VERY condescending and rude. I tried reaching out several times in the 10 days they had my laptop even after they "misquoted me" on the price and hardly heard back from them. When I went to pick up my laptop (that was not repaired, but that's a different story), they said, "let me go try and see where it is", as in they didn't even know where it was. Was very excited to shop here for my first time and buy a ender 3 with the 99 dollar coupon and had trouble pulling it up on my phone cause i had bad service and i asked if they had wifi and he tried to act like it wasn't going to work and when i went to pay i had to ask about split payment and the cashier questioned me about it and then proceeded to ask me questions about my banking situation and i felt extremely uncomfortable. After driving 3 and a half hours to the store i was extremely let down by this experience. Now being in the customer service world my team goes and looks for sales. Sells the add-ons doesn't just stand behind the desk talking in massive circles and when asked a question they point and say pretty much good luck. Good prices but bad/shady customer service. I recently bought a barebones PowerSpec (their brand) desktop from Micro Center in Brentwood, MO. It was an open box but it was labelled "complete" and "good". It was missing the manual, cords, and misc and the usb port was bad. The computer didn't recognize my internet connection and had problems recognizing the keyboard and mouse included with the computer. (It would not recognize any of mine.) You need that to set up Windows to run the desktop. I called their phone tech helpline but, bc there was no online manual, the tech person couldn't help me. I called the store the next day and they offered to let me talk to someone for a fee. This was a new computer that they'd made and just sold to me. I'm calling bc I'm having problems setting up the computer and the USB port doesn't work but I'm supposed to pay to talk to someone who will help me figure out how I might fix it? That's not right. I think they were trying to take advantage of me bc I'm an old, disabled, sick woman. I talked to someone else and they told me to bring it in and exchange it so I drove the 40 miles back to Brentwood. They took the defective one back w/o any problems. The cashier was great. When I went to get the replacement (that I'd reserved online), I told the guy I wanted to make sure all the parts were there bc they hadn't been for the one I just brought back (even though the guy who brought it out from the back room assured me that he had just personally made sure everything was there). They guy at pickup was going to open the box when another employee (I think a manager) told him not to. The counter guy and I explained the situation w the other computer but he still said no. He relented after more discussion but seemed put out. Why did he object? (There was no one else in line so it wasn't that.) He acted like I was being a jerk. Then I asked the guy who opened the box where the drive bays were in this computer bc I didn't see them. He directed me to the knowledge bar. When I got there the same manager who didn't want me to open the box gave me a hard time when I asked where the drive bays were. "YOU are going to install a hard drive?" (He glared and got between the bar and me. He acted like an old woman can't possibly install a HDD and that it was ridiculous for me to want to put a hard disk in a barebones computer with NO HARD DISK and 2 empty drive bays. Silly me.) "You want them to show you how?" "No, I want them to show me where the drive bays are." (They're in a separate covered compartment.) I can install HDDs but even if I couldn't, so what? Other tech stores would not only show you where the bays are, they'd explain how to install them, answer your questions, and make sure you had the right cables, etc. They wouldn't give you a hard time for asking a simple question about the new computer you just bought, esp after that store had messed up and you had to drive an extra 80 miles bc of their mistakes. Except for the manager(?) and the phone guy who wanted to send me to a pay tech line, the ppl there were fine. (The phone guy was probably doing what he was told to do but it's very shady.) If I get my desktop running, it seems like a very good value. I couldn't build it this cheaply. It sounds like from other reviews, this store has serious problems with women and old ppl. I'm both so I guess this is what happens. I didn't see any women or old ppl working there except one young woman at the door. No female tech ppl, sales associates, or managers. No older employees. That's really weird. Maybe the guy who gave me a hard time for wanting to open the box and for asking about the drive bays isn't the only one there who thinks women and old ppl shouldn't even try to do or know anything about computers or tech. read more

Used to do a lot of mail ordering, not anymore, the prices here are as good as you'll find on line. Not for the tech challenged, but for the kind of person comfortable with installing their own RAM or a new hard drive.
