Outside Micro Center on Saturday, 21 January 2023
    Agnes I.

I visited in January 2023. This review is just for their customer service which was around a 2.5/5. My experience wasn't the best. TECH HEAVEN -- While I didn't browse the store because I was in and out, I noticed all different brands of laptops and computers for sale. MACBOOK AIR REPAIRS -- I recommend taking your MAC straight to Apple. I originally thought it would be more expensive to fix my MAC at an Apple store but it was actually cheaper. I didn't even end up repairing my Apple laptop here because the process wasn't fully explained to me by the MicroCenter representative. I ended up going to the Apple store itself on that same day after doing more thorough research online. I got much friendly service at the Apple store. Here is what happened - my battery needed to be replaced on my 2017 Macbook Air so after a quick google search, I found that MicroCenter is an Apple Authorized Retailer. I had never heard of MicroCenter before but I decided to drive all the way here to Mayfield Heights. Upon arrival, I asked if they could run a quick diagnosis to make sure it was indeed my battery that needed fixing and the representative said he could not do that. He then said that he would have to order a battery from Apple which would take about 4 days to arrive at MicroCenter and then it would take another day for the new battery to be installed unto my Macbook. He said the battery would cost around $150 or $200 and then I would need to pay around $80 or $100 for the service to install the battery. During this whole process, I would have had to leave my laptop with them. I asked if I could just bring my laptop with me once the new battery arrived from Apple and the representative said no. The representative wasn't that friendly and he was somewhat rushing me to make up my mind because he was talking fast. I just finished my conversation with him and left not knowing what to do (frustrating). I wish he would have told me that I could have just gone straight to Apple but of course, I imagine that was a business decision. Anyway, I just took my Macbook to Apple (Crocker Park location), where they ran a diagnostic test for free to make sure that indeed my battery was dieing, then the Apple representative ordered a new battery which was actually already in stock that Saturday evening. I got a phone call and email the next morning, on a Sunday stating that my MAC was ready to pickup. I arrived and picked up my laptop. The battery cost $129 and I was not charged for the new battery to be installed. After taxes, I paid about $150. For Macbook repairs, take your device to an Apple store to get fixed, but if Microcenter is your only option close to where you live, please note that you will be charged more money than the Apple store would have charged you. **** - 9/150 total reviews in 2023 - 560 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 28 January 2023

When I asked about the return policy last night, I was told if I had the receipt everything would be fine
    Madison K.

I waited for awhile (it was about 45 minutes, but I was trying to be nice) but then was productively helped. I bought just what I needed-- but am taking it back tomorrow because it turns out a friend bought me a gift of ... just what I needed. So we thought ... fine. The staff was helpful, just harried. Oh, guess what?? They will not refund the purchase. Seriously. Not only would they not accept the return (with receipt of course!) but they ridiculed my appearance and called the police. They did not tell me that I would need my physical debit card in order to get a refund. I showed up with my receipt and was treated like a criminal. One of the employees actually said "there are too many things to tell a customer you can't expect to be told everything. I was so upset that they called the police and charged me with trespassing. Meanwhile, a customer told me that I am everything that a woman should not be. "Look at you, blue hair and funny pants." And they still have my money. Update. I drove three hours to another location where the return took all of five minutes. Micro center corporate?? You owe me an apology. I am filing charges against the officers who threatened me with cuffs and jail time. That employee gleefully peeking around the pole is the one who cried and covered his face. The atmosphere of this store is dramatically different from the bethel road store. This one features a greeter who smiles and giggles all day at lines like "they must hire for luscious lips as well as sweeeeet demeanors!" This store needs a complete dump and hire.

Micro Center is a bit of a throwback to an earlier time- you feel kind of like you entered the late 1980's or early 1990's with a store full of mainline and obscure computer parts, modern consumer electronics, and roving salespeople in ties. Their prices are pretty reasonable overall and they have a lot of great sales. If you are the type of person that has ever needed a random computer that day, Micro Center is a life saver!

Reminds me of a radio shack and circuit city merged together. They had some really neat items that have been hard to find in other stores.

Marty at PCFixMe! answered my call, offered to fix later that same day, and when I drove up to CLE, he did troubleshooting and identified issues with motherboard. He corrected it, said it was common issue, and provided tips to prevent it (properly shutting down laptop). He also showed me how to remove back of motherboard and unplug/replug in battery, and provided me with small screwdrivers so I could do it myself if needed. Which I did when similar issues came up the next week. Twice. The solution worked temporarily, but... when my screen went black the following week, I called Marty to discuss. Since I was located an hour away, he kindly offered several options, one of which included helping me purchase a new laptop if motherboard was bad- worst case scenario. When I took the laptop to him, he did trouble shooting, laptop did not reboot, motherboard was bad and we proceeded to shop online for a replacement. He recommended a replacement, and he ordered it then and there. When it arrived a few days later at his shop, he called to tell me he noticed a scuff on the cover and also found that it did not have all he had expected in hardware, and apologized for his mistake. We discussed an alternative Lenovo laptop - also less expensive - and he purchased. When it arrived several days later, I picked it up. Marty was honest with me again and told me my old laptop eventually did reboot! I said I'd keep it as a backup, but I needed a reliable alternative for my new business. And I was back up and running within 4 business days. Marty at PCFixMe! is honest, prompt, professional, courteous and exceeds expectations! What a breath of fresh air.

I am too embarrassed to post a photo of it, it's that bad. I put in the order online and picked up the cookbook at this Staples store a few days later. Now, when I submitted the order, I had no explanation as to why this book cost $30 for a single print and only one page of color. I assumed it was going to be incredibly beautiful and professional looking at that price. Nope! I was so embarrassed to give this to my sister. I immediately ordered a custom hardcover book to be made from my file from Barnes and Noble, which is what I should have done in the first place! And it was cheaper! Worst of all, the staff did NOTHING to try to salvage this when I was so clearly very upset when they handed it to me. It was incredibly cold and cruel. I tried to salvage it by finding a cover of any kind in the shopping part of the store to put over this "cookbook," but the store was so poorly stocked, I couldn't even find that! I should have just done this at work and save myself the hassle, the money, and the embarrassment. My wonderful sister was understanding when I presented her with this messy pile of papers after I spent so much time and effort gathering recipes from her friends and family. But I can't wait to give her the B&N hardcover custom cookbook when it arrives in a few days and I can put this debacle with Staples behind me.

It offers a much more pleasant experience than Target stores in South Euclid and Willoughby. In fact, I drive out of my way to visit this specific store. Fall Finds: Target is all stocked up for fall with "sweater" cozy pumpkins, cute ghost mugs, wicker pumpkin trays, bronze looking mushrooms, and more. I had to run away from the discount area where these items were located to avoid buying all the stuff I don't need. Most of the items were priced between $3 and $5. Store Appearance/Stock: This store is well organized and clean. The women's clothing area sometimes runs low on inventory. It's true for any Target stores lately. Order pickups: While I love to wander at Target, time often doesn't allow me to. I place a lot of in-store pickup orders here. Usually for clothing or personal care items. My last order was for tennis balls (for physical therapy) and summer dress. The items are always found (even when low stock) and orders quickly available. The transactions for pickups are considerably more efficient than other Target locations. Service: This store has the most pleasant service out of all East Side Targets. Employees inquire if you need help and are very polite. I enjoy my interactions here. Good service extends into Target Starbucks cafe. Parking: Plenty of parking specifically for Target and in the plaza. Watch out for speed bumps in certain crosswalk areas of the plaza. Overall, I'd recommend this location. It's suitable for a quick shopping trip. Convenient for shopping, pick-ups, and returns. Lately, I have noticed reduced foot traffic which I personally love for speedy shopping trips. Another convenient thing is that there are several other grocery and clothing retailers in the plaza which makes for a more efficient multi-store visit.
