The studio is clean and easy to get to from our house. I had a couple of issues with the party. First, this was a group of 5 year olds and the teacher chose an art project that was super challenging. My son loved it but I think it could have been a little better chosen for the age group. Secondly, I think that there should be some sort of paper trail after I booked the party. Everything is done verbally. I wanted to pay for the upgraded package or at least thought I told the manager this but when it came time for the party we did not get the upgraded package. We've explored a variety of mediums, techniques, and materials in our projects. We spent last fall working on the human form - something really great for a 5th grader to begin to learn. Took two classes here and had very different experiences…read more The first class I went to was a resin workshop with Punky Power Productions and it was fun, engaging, and interactive. The instructor was very fun and really willing to help out and inspire. 5 stars. The second workshop i took, just this Sunday, was not great at all. It was a mosaic class and it might as well have been self led. The instructor gave us a brief 3-5 min tutorial on how to place the tiles and then did nothing else except sorted tiles the whole time. She never came around to see how we were doing or if we needed help. We had to keep asking her to come over if we had a question and she didn't really offer too much. She never told us what color we could use, and kept coming over and collecting the extra tiles as we were working. She didn't help us finish up and left before we were done. It was super disappointing.

We had so much fun blending and creating our candles. Initially I thought this would be a fun one time only experience, but I cannot wait to come back to make something else!

Various scents prepared to be mixed in a small vial, tables set up beautifully with love-themed decor, and simple instructions written out along with friendly staff ready to assist if needed. It was a fun little activity to do together while trying out a variety of scented liquids (i.e. citrus sands, jasmine, amber & plum) using tiny labeled bottles and pipettes. I loved having the freedom to be creative, though mine ended up being kinda simple and was definitely fruity, heavy on the smells of cranberry, apple, and orange. Apparently Ashy Aromas also makes customized scented candles through a similar process, a unique experience that can be booked at their actual place of business in SJ.
