Job: Samsung S9+ (great shape) battery replacement. Now that one week has passed, here is my review. I was there early and Mustafa took me in. He was very attentive and courteous. I'd say the service was 5 stars. The phone booted fine and w/o problems. Now, he only had one battery left for S9+. He showed it to me before installation and it was a Chinese made battery. I had no choice as that is what he had, i.e., no OEM (Korean made). I still need to charge my phone about 1X day or 2X per day and I find it it unacceptable. To be clear, I use my phone for basic usage-- no video streaming, just photos, texting, music through BT for about 80% of the time. So I'll rate materials as 3 stars and that is generous (should be 2 or even 1). Hence a final average rating of 4 stars. My recommendation for Microfix (being in supply chain): Secure high quality battery inventory or have supplier drop ship upon request (may take a few days and that is typically acceptable). I went in to get the battery changed on my Moto, and they were very upfront and honest with me that there was a chance the screen could be damaged in the process. It was, and after switching to a new screen the touch response wasn't working. They did everything they could to figure out where the problem was and even though they couldn't figure it out they didn't charge me for anything other than the initial down payment for the battery service and the overnight rush shipping for the new screen, when they could have easily asked me to pay for labor and the cost of the new battery and screen as well. I cracked my iPad Pro 10.5inch on the way back from a trip. I do much of my work on my iPad and needed a repair quickly. I was looking for a place to get replace my iPhone 6s Plus screen. Mike (owner of MICROFIX ) was very courteous and explained me different options for my screen replacement. He even let me see how he fixed the screen and even explained few steps. After fixing screen he had a checklist to make sure other pieces of screen like camera, earpiece,switch and touchscreen were working properly. I also got an year warranty for screen except for any physical damage I did fix my screen using groupon before at some other store and he replaced it with a generic after market one which had terrible touch sensitivity and screen brightness was too blue. I'm on vacation to Arizona to visit my cousin and i dropped my phone on the rocks at Horseshoe bend canyon from trying to take a selfie on a selfie stick (so you could imagine the high fall to the hard rocks). My cousin had a friend who came to this place to get her phone fixed often. I came in on Mon to get it fixed, however he didnt have the LCD part for my phone, but very kindly said he'd order it right away and would get on with fixing my glitching, cracked screen. I only paid for the part and labor (which he gave me a 20% discount on for my first time w/o knowing abt the yelp deal or groupon). My LCD part wasnt coming in for 3-5 days, but my flight is on Fri., so I needed someone to fix my screen in a crounched time slot and efficiently. Its my first time replacing my screen, and I wasn't going to find it anywhere else cheaper. He even promised to refund the deposit I made for ordering the LCD part, if it didnt come by Friday. He's very on top of his work and customers, giving me a call on Weds. when the part arrived. He went right into working on my phone, giving an estimated time of 3 hours to fix it (we arrived at 5pm) and he closes at 8pm. He had actually finished it within an hour, but my cousin didnt hear her phone ring when he called. Not only did he wait for us until 8pm to come pick it back up, but he was also a really great sport about it. He said he didnt want to leave until i got my phone back (i guess i made it really obvious that my phone is my life). I dropped my Galaxy Note 9 phone and cracked the screen glass. When I picked it up I also noticed that the battery was swollen. I found Microfix through Yelp. They were one of the few companies in my area that does Samsung repairs. The price was surprisingly low, because he didn't charge extra labor to install the battery, since the phone was already open for the glass repair. My MacBook Pro stopped working and Apple was not willing to upgrade the hard drive to a 2TB from my 1TB SSD. So I went to Microfix. I am giving 1 star (not zero stars) because the owner did not skip a beat and immediately agreed to refund the whole amount I paid for the repair. But, he lied and held onto the tax for a job he failed to do. I lost almost $40 bucks!! What was the issue? The new SSD hard drive failed in less than 24 hours. During the inspection and estimate process, I repeatedly had to correct Moustafa on what we agreed upon originally and he was way behind schedule the whole time. I almost decided to terminate the repair. We agreed on OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and I had Apple inspect the laptop before returning it to Microfix. Apple informed me that the SSD hard drive was NOT OEM. Microfix substituted an inferior part and that part failed in less than 24 hours. I got to see the pics of the "Fledgling Feather" SSD. The components on the board were not applied professionally. They were crooked and the laminate was peeling! I am unsure if Moustafa, the owner, knew that the guy he outsourced the laptop job to did this. I confronted Moustafa and he admitted that he does cell phone repairs, not laptop repairs, even though he advertises he does laptop repairs. Don't take your laptop here! The reviews are fake!! I watched Moustafa give 20% discount flyers to customers who had repairs done as long as that customer gave him a good review! SCAM!! I like independent business owners, but Moustafa/Microfix gives them a bad name. AVOID THIS SCAMMER! read more
