Room was simple. Two beds, a desk, tv, closet. Bathroom was ok. Floor was very slippery. A little unsafe. The cleaner they use does not smell good. It is a very strong cheap smelling cleaner. This does not! I repeat, NOT have a continental breakfast. They have "Grab and Go" bags with granola bars or muffins in them. Nothing else. So that is not an accurate thing on their website! The lobby of the hotel was very empty. It looks a lot nicer on the outside than it is. But overall, it was ok. Location was convenient to the highway. And there are a few places to eat nearby. 3/5 read more

Came to dover for a quick stay, had a very long day with our brother in icu. The night he passed away we were very tired. To come in room at 9:30 pm to the ppl next door were listening to there music loudly. Then arguing and then making up n i mean banging on out wall. This is not a motel its a hotel. Got no sleep. Had to drive a three hour trip home exhausted. The breakfast is grab n go but you have to ask for it. For the prices they charge its not even worth it. No cleaning for the two night stay either. I cant recommend this place. Years ago it was a military hotel and i was able to here it was pleasant. read more

This has to be the worst place I have ever stayed !!! They promised room with two beds for family of 4 and we got one bed and pull out sofa . No sheets for sofa ! Just the dirty ones left inside ! Breadcrumbs under the table and pubic hair in the bathroom !!! Discussed !!!! When I asked for someone to clean or change room they did not have anyone . And no extra towels !!! This place is a hole - a deep dark hole in the Earth. I'm not sure if this is a proper lodge for travelers. It seems like it may be a residence for transients as well. Maybe not. But, it is NOT a hotel. At best, its a motel. The wall behind the bed was a wall to wall mirror. The lobby and hallways smelled like a hospital. There was a faint smell and a dampness to the room itself. Why two stars and not one star? I realize it could have been even worse than it was. The association of "Wyndham," with this place, seems a grim jest. This place is poo poo. I should've spent fifty percent more for a proper hotel. Live and learn. Really considering a one star rating. Overall, the service & management was horrible.Our housekeeper (Syvetres) was abrupt & unprofessional. She entered our hotel room unannounced without a name tag/uniform and rushed us out of our hotel at checkout. After following up with management (Sagar Patel) on this matter, his response was and I quote "Rest assured we had no reason to upset you yesterday morning, and Syvetres was just trying to do her job".This shows that there was no action taken. 10/04/20. read more

Just drove 5 hours only to not be greeted by the front desk guy. He was the most unfriendly front desk person I have encountered. Not welcoming, did not go over where to park, find the room, breakfast in the morning, extra charge for the safe, checkout time, wifi, or really anything. When asked it seemed like a bother. The room was clean, the walls need some touch up, but overall ok. There were no plates or cups in the cabinets, Mr. Friendly could have explained that. This was a fine place to stay overnight to break up long drives on a road trip I took from RI to NC. The location is very near the highway and a few miles from downtown Dover. The woman working at the front desk was very helpful and went out of her way to help me with a request that had not been properly transmitted when I made the booking on hotels.com. The room was quite small but it did have a decently comfortable king sized bed. The room and bathroom were spotless, and everything was a pretty good repair (except for a missing sink stopper). We stayed in the midst of a heat wave so I was really glad the air conditioner in our room worked well. Breakfast was worse than I'd expect even for a free offering at a budget hotel but I only paid $75 for the room so I feel like I have no right to complain about the food. The garage under the hotel was clean and well kept so I was perfectly happy to park down there. It was strange that they tried to bill me an extra $1.50 to have a safe in my room. The safe didn't work so I had the manager remove the charge from my bill. I think it's just an odd thing to charge extra for. I don't know if I'd drive the same route any time in the future but if I do I would not hesitate to stay here, again. read more

Stayed here following the fall race at Dover Speedway. If you're looking for a place to rest your head, close to the speedway, after a long day watching the race / tailgating, then this will do the job. But be prepared to overpay for it and don't expect much. Room was very small, very little space to walk as the bed took up most of the room. Toilet seat was stained from bleach (it was clean though). Didn't really need a/c but the window only opened 3 inches (no fan to circulate air). TV was not a flat screen (not even the lobby had a flat screen set). Overhead light fixture randomly turned itself off for 15 mins. Water fountains in the lobby were gross (not that I planned to use it but I happened to notice). complementary breakfast items in the lobby cleared out a bit early I thought Water pressure in the shower stung because it came out so hard . My friends in the room next door, showering at a different time, said there shower was like a trickle of water ? All the value in what I was charged had to do with proximity to the track. On a non race weekend I'm sure there are plenty of better and equally as affordable options in the dover area. read more

An incredible room and a fantastic stay! Despite my messing up and reserving the room under my husband's name (who wasn't yet in the state), the receptionist was cooperative and took extra steps to confirm the reservation before beginning to allow me to check in, given that I had 4 kids in tow. Luckily, my husband was closer than I'd known and arrived before we finished. The room (a suite) was positively incredible and had more than enough room for our family of 8. Between the two queen beds, the sleeper sofa and the two large window seats with cushions (which my 8 year old begged to sleep on), nobody felt the least bit squished (until my 1 year old woke up with a barking cough in the middle of the night, of course)! The kitchen was especially spacious and gave us more room to move than our own kitchen. The living room was setup perfectly to accommodate many people and having a TV in each room was ideal to allow the little kids to watch one thing while I watched another to feed the baby. The "complimentary breakfast" is the only reason it doesn't merit 5 stars. The breakfast was a joke and offered VERY few selections. We wound up having to go buy breakfast since there wasn't even sufficient options for my big kids. Luckily, we always travel with food so we had plenty of snacks to tide everyone over until after we'd checked out. read more

First off, the name says it all. We stayed during our thanksgiving travels with an infant and 8 year old. The room was clean, had enough space for the pack and play, and the beds were adequately blanketed and clean. It's no elite hotel, but it is no gross super 8 or motel 6 either. The price was fantastic, but probably due to the off season. 74 out the door. The have a small parking lot but a decent size enclosed basement parking garage. This was awesome as we needed to repack the car and it was cold and rainy. The breakfast is nothing hearty but free food nevertheless. We had a pastry to hold us over to some other options. There is a food lion, wawa, and McDonald's right in the vicinity. This is right off the 1 and literally outside the base gate. If you need a hotel and are passing through Delaware, I'd stop here. read more

We called and she held a room for us, which I appreciated to no end. She was wonderful to us at check in and extremely helpful. Our room had a window bed, which was awesome. For some reason the price online is no where near what u pay, thanks to some "taxes", breakfast is the worst i've ever had at a hotel better off not even having one, and the room had weird smell to it. Staff is courteous, but cleanliness isn't their priority. When I checked in, the room had detritus from a previous guest's dinner on the floor, and the hallways often reeked of marijuana. Parking in the front lot is limited; there is parking in the back and on one side of the facility, but there isn't direct access to the building from those lots and they aren't monitored by cameras either. There is a garage, but access is gained by first going inside and speaking to a staff member, which isn't convenient. The hotel rents out a conference room for children's birthday parties, which creates a mess in the parking lot as there are barely enough spaces for the folks renting rooms to park. The WiFi has a relatively strong bandwidth and the televisions in the room offer numerous movies channels. The breakfast offerings are mediocre. read more

Hotel was clean and reasonable. We used it as a getaway for our anniversary. Staff was very nice. Room was nice...I loved the window seat! View from the window was to a lake and a little bridge. Our first night/day, we didn't get our room serviced. We were told that housekeeper was still on another floor. They only have three floors and we were gone for hours. The breakfast was the absolute worst. They had frozen egg patties and sausages wrapped in plastic wrap that you had to microwave and the put on bread or bagel. My husband found a bag of drugs in our room and after calling the police and then coming to our room we were told that's it heroin. Front desk is refusing to refund us our money. What if my children found that bag of drugs? I'll be sure to inform everyone that we see that this hotel is nothing but a drug hotel. Mixed results here on two different nights. First we spent one night here on Saturday night. Very good results that night. Room was clean and everything worked great. We checked out Sunday morning and everything was fine. Since this was a holiday weekend we decided to stay another night on Sunday night. Checked back in on Sunday late afternoon. Got to the room and it had not been made ready. Bathroom stripped of towels and bed without sheets or covers. Had to request a new room. New room seemed ok, but it was a hot day and the Air Conditioning for this room did not work very well. Temperature never got to a comfortable level. Spent the night in a too warm room. Also noticed a few ants crawling around on the walls. Not enough to be alarmed about, but did not make me feel like I would want to stay here again. read more

I booked a room here a day in advance during a busy music festival weekend and checked in around 2. The room was already prepared (check in is at 3) and clean. The bathroom was orderly, clean and presentable. The room offered a desk, fridge, pull out couch, table, countertop, TV, wifi, several outlets, good lighting, clean bed and several mirrors. There were no issues with AC and breakfast served until 9:30. Check out was at 11. The hotel was great for the priceand the staff was friendly and helpful. read more

The hotel is dark and dingy. I booked a room with Queen size bed. I got a full size bed. The rooms are small. (Hence Micro) The bathroom is outdated. The bathtub is old, rusty and peeling. The toilet seat was loose. Nearly slid off the toilet when I sat to use it. The water pressure extremely low. The tub backed up will showering. The TV sat on top of the armoire. It was old. There were no lamps. The room attendant didn't clean my room. Had to complain to the front desk. Then had to call when I left for the afternoon to make sure the room had been cleaned. The towels and washcloths are old, worn and dingy. Had to buy some from a near by Walmart to use instead. The mirrored headboard was scratched up. This place is a hell hole. Do not even wast your time or money. I'm very disappointed in Wyndham for this poor representation of their properties. I usually do not do this but I feel obligated because they deserve it. So, our experience when we first got to Dover wasn't to good. The 1st hotel we went to was nasty and had mold. After switching to another room we endured it for the night. The next morning we checked out quickly we took and ubber to Microtel Hotel. We were real early for check in and they had a full house the night before. So we asked if we could leave our luggage there so we.can go across the street to get something to eat. The young man said, " No problem." When we came back we still had quite a while before checking in. We sat in their lounge area waiting. The nice lady said that as soon as a room opened up they'll let us check in. Sure enough a room was done and we were able to finally get some good rest. The place was super clean. As soon as you walk in their front doors you can smell how clean this place is. As for the room, it was also very clean. I just want to thank the staff for everything. We will definitely stay here if we ever come back through here. read more

Pros: Close to base. Relatively new. Cons: -Pack n plays used as cribs. Lady gave me crap about requesting one when I checked in. Dropped it off in my room unassembled. Did not provide sheet for pack n play crib. Dirty, stained pack n play did not latch properly-- it collapsed on my kiddo. -Been here two days, have not cleaned room yet. Have to go to front desk and request towels for second day in a row. Have not put 'Do not disturb' sign on door, so don't know why they didn't come. Hopefully they will clean tomorrow. -Fridge smelled like mold. The putrid rotten milk kind of moldy smell. However, a nice guy at front desk did replace. -Towel rack is falling off wall. -Tape is holding shower handle bar to wall. Overall, this hotel is sliding. It was nice a few years ago, but maintenance is falling behind. Hopefully they can get back on track before the building's maintenance goes beyond the point of no return. read more

Wouldn't be my 1st choice but it's free while I'm on orders so I won't be picky. It's also really close to the base which makes for a pleasent commute. Each floor has vending machines, the staff is nice. This hotel has a great view if you get a room on the back side of the hotel and there's a nice 3 mile trail that starts directly behind the hotel. The Downside. ... the washing machine and dryer are on the 3rd floor and it isn't free plus the washer and dryer units are old a crusty. You have to climb flights of stairs to get to your room with luggage and all items in tow, unless you want to walk halfway down a long hallway and wait for the elevator and walk back down a long hallway. The elevator is slow. Do not count on their free breakfast as with most hotels but this one is worse than avg. For me it's just a place to stay for a few weeks until I go home...I wouldn't vacation here though unless the rate was low and I wanted the view and the nice trail close by. read more

Best Microtel I've stayed in! Very large clean single room with pullout sofa and beautiful view.

I made a reservation for this hotel online, however when I got to the hotel, the lady at the desk told me she wouldn't honor the military discount since I didn't make the reservation directly with the hotel and wouldn't allow me to check in 2 hours early without paying a $25.00 fee. Fine. I paid it but when I got to the room, it wasn't clean. Cracker crumbs in two areas and a towel left in the bathroom, among other things. I asked the lady at the desk for a refund of the $25.00 and she refused (I was very pleasant about it but insisted I should not pay this fee). So I would say, after it was all said and done, this room was NOT worth the $197.71 I paid, particularly for the area of town this property is in. For the area, nearly $200 would buy a suite at the Dover Downs! read more

I stayed in this hotel for 4 days . Friendly staff however, this is the first hotel I've stayed in that doesn't have a automatic door. I struggled carrying my luggages while opening the door at the same time. Parking is also limited. They do have underground parking but sign show that no SUV parking. I was disappointed with the room. The bed is hard. It's like sleeping on a cardboard box. I believe that this hotel is pretty new but the hotel inside doesn't look like it. There's tv in the room however it's box tv. 2nd floor smells like old wet dog. There two couch by the hall way which looks like it was picked up from a sidewalk. Hotel doesn't have a gym or a pool which sucks. Free breakfast was a joke! There's only one computer for customer use by the front desk but when I used it to print it didn't work. The hotel provided a recycle box in the room which shows they are environment friendly. read more
