We came with a Flagfoot ball team. Wendy in the sales office helped me arrange a few rooms, she was very kind through the process. Front desk staff was great when we checked in. lobby was clean, bright, everyone had masks on. You can tell they were on top of cleanliness. Room was clean, we didn't see the blur seal I. Our door when we arrived as we saw from the previous Hilton Garden Inn. Not sure if it's only for certain hotels. Pool area is small but clean. 10 people maximum and you have to reserve your time. The chlorine was strong to the point that it was burning our eyes. I guess that's a good thing... especially with COVID! We tried to block off a 1hr slot for our group but we were not allowed to. Overall it was a wonderful experience here. Would definitely come back if I was in the area. read more

This was not a cheap stay. We had 2 rooms for between 6-700 dollars for one night WITHOUT complementary breakfast. Another $17 per person for breakfast. Also the only things available for breakfast if you are gf is fruit and bacon. We had teenagers in the two rooms across the hall who were running around slamming doors at 2:30 am. Then a garbage truck came before 6am and spent about 20 minutes driving back and forth outside our room for another 20 minutes. So we got about four hours sleep and no food for an overpriced hotel room. This is why we stay at rental homes now for vacation. We just needed an overnight stay on our drive home. Don't come here. Started off with the guest room door not working with my iPhone as advertised. After hauling all the luggage back to the main desk, I was told that it was likely an issue with my phone. This turned out to not be the issue since I could operate other doors in the facility. The room was poorly maintained as there was flaking paint in the bathroom and some black mold. read more

I stayed here one night, it was supposed to be three nights but I checked out early. When I arrived to the area I noticed that it didn't look safe. When I unloaded my car, there were random men hanging outside. I checked in went to my room noticed that one bed look like it hadn't been changed, the toilet was not clean nor was the microwave. I went down stairs to get my DoorDash and right by the elevator was a tissue with poop on it. I slept in the other bed. I woke up this morning and the water was milky. No it wasn't hot water, which can do that, it was cold water. I reached out to my company and booked another hotel. I immediately checked out of this one. read more

This hotel was perfect for my one night stay. I checked in around 9pm. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful with trying to figure out using my app as my key to get around the hotel. The room was clean and set up perfectly. The whirlpool was a fantastic addition to the room. The bathroom had a stand shower with glass doors versus the tub. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows- which is always a plus. Check out/obtaining a receipt only took a few moments and was easy peasy. I was very pleased with the room. It was clean and quiet for our one night stay. The breakfast situation was confusing. We went downstairs and the sign said the buffet hours, but not that there was a charge. So I made some toast and took some soggy home fries from the buffet. We couldn't eat the home fries so I finished my toast and we went back to our room. In the elevator we saw a sign saying the buffet breakfast was $16! How can you charge $16 for a breakfast buffet that has the same processed soggy food as a free breakfast buffet? Never ever, at all Hiltons that we stay at did I get charged for the gross hot food items they put out for breakfast. If you want to charge for food then make it fresh. Hotel itself is nice though and the staff was very friendly. read more

I've been coming to this property for about one year. The staff at this location define hospitality! Everyone is friendly, you are greeted with smiles, and they really know how to WOW their guests. The rooms are clean, the food is good, and the amenities are always in working condition. On one particular trip, we had to travel on my daughters birthday. When the hotel found out, what they did next was jaw dropping. Upon arrival, we check-in seamlessly as usual. Once we open the door to our room, there were balloons and a special birthday cake in my daughters honor. I never experienced such a WOW'd experience. We just conducted a focus group in their conference rooms. The staff didn't have a lot of experience with our kind of group, but stepped up to the plate. We had several requests that were out of the ordinary for them and they adjusted to accommodate. They were quick on their feet and eager to make our event a success. All we had to do was ask and the staff was patient and helpful. I am so bad with names so I don't want to start with naming each person, but the front desk staff, maintenance, cooking staff (all of them!!!), sales, manager, bar tender. Really, the attitudes of the employees and the Front Desk, Sabrina at the front desk was so kind and welcoming with an amazing personality that made my stay an exceptional experience. Let me start by saying that yes the hotel is dated. However, the front desk staff told me they're planning on upgrading at the end of the year. There were no USB ports in my room so if you go make sure you bring a plug-in to charge your devices. However, on the positive side, the room was very clean. The hotel itself was very clean, and the staff was absolutely accommodating and could not have been nicer. I needed batteries and they were kind enough to give me some they had behind the desk. Anything I needed they were absolutely ready to help. The only breakfast I ate was the continental so I cannot speak for the hot breakfast they offer in the morning at a price tag if I believe $15. The continental breakfast is $10. They do offer a couple of dinner entrées in the evening as well. They have a small bar with a very friendly and nice bartender. They have an indoor pool and a very nice gym. I would definitely stay here again if we were ever back in the area. read more

I've been in a couple Hilton properties thus far and have used their connected room service, this place does not offer it. I enjoyed the option of the connected room. Top this off the room I was placed in did not have the Samsung Remote to allow me access to interactive guide. I had to use the regular guide for the property. Who wants two guides for a hotel stay and one that appears to be impressive. I brought this up with the GM (Cliff) in the morning and he was the biggest asshole ever. This hotel has the worst customer service of any Hilton Garden Inn that I have ever worked with. I had to call The Hotel directly, Hilton rewards, and Hilton customer service, to cancel a rewards point 3 night reservation. Unfortunately, the Hilton honors app upon which I booked the reservation does not state that they have a 14 day cancellation policy. I called a week in advance, and was consistently told to "call back later", or sent to the hotel managers voice mail. The only way to get the manager on the phone was to go through the Hilton customer service line. Its been 3 days to try and cancel this reservation, and multiple hours on the phone with various people to figure this out. This has been the worst experience that I've ever had with a Hilton Garden Inn Property, and I will never book here again. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. The attitude and hospitality of the staff is horrendous. From the moment of check-in, Tasha was rude, belligerent & unprofessional. I was trying to ask questions regarding several other reservations I had booked for our organization, and received outrageous responses from her. Her lack of professionalism was disgraceful. Upon entering my room, there was a pungent, nauseating smell. The lamp shade was broken & the carpeting was damp. Due to the lack of help I received at the front desk, I chose to ignore these defaults because I did not need nor want any more aggravation. In the evening, I entered the lobby to find several families whom we traveled with for a sporting event being yelled at by Tasha and being called 'white folk'. I asked her several times to refrain from speaking to any of us like that since the children in our party were all witnesses to this vile disrespect from her towards their parents. That part of the evening ended by the police arriving to de-escalate the situation. I thought the night was over. I was back in my room getting ready to relax, when a knock on my door from Shondel (the manager who was not there the entire day) quickly changed that. His exact words to me were (I have it on videotape), because you 'broke the rules' you need to vacate the premises along with everyone else that was in the lobby and you need to provide everyone's else's names. I questioned several times what rules I broke and what rules were there that were not being followed. Since he was not there to witness anything & was strictly going by hearsay, he could not answer those questions. I walked into a horrendous situation that Tasha had caused. Since my name is the one that reserved several rooms and she remembered me from earlier in the day, I was blamed. Our group travels all year long for lacrosse tournaments. (This weekend we had 46 rooms booked at the Wyndham Garden Inn). Never in the years that I have been doing this have ever had any problems or situations in any of the hotels we have stayed at. The Wyndham brand of hotels has definitely lost our business for sure! read more

Checked in late at night. Around midnight the night front desk guy called and accused me of taking his picture... He literally argued with me for 5 minutes until I offered to show him my camera roll. Next morning, GM says they see a lot of crazies and whackos at night and says his employee is a good guy and that I took it wrong. Literally saying "what do you want me to do, apologize?" Called hilton, GM called back upset stating "I don't understand why you called and complained"... Seriously? Lastly, forgot my Bluetooth pedometer which stays sync'd to my phone. Go back for it, and front desk person said "oh, my Gm looked for it and couldn't find it." Well the last sync was before I left the hotel and it was fully charged. You put two and two together. Worst hilton experience ever. From one diamond member to another, save yourself the harassment and go somewhere else. read more

I often stay at this hotel when visiting Dover, DE. This hotel has impeccable customer service. I arrived here Friday afternoon after evacuating Atlantic City (Borgata) due to Hurricane Irene. I wasn't ready to go home although the Hurricane was on its way. We went swimming in their indoor pool and relaxed in the jacuzzi. It was so relaxing and clean. The room is a basic room, but the bed was so comfortable. You can adjust the mattress to your level of comfort. The A/C worked well, a little too well. We had breakfast Saturday morning in the cafe that is off to the side of the lobby area. It was very good. I ordered an omelette with bacon, mushrooms, red peppers and onions with cheese with a side of hash browns. I also had a toasted bagel with cream cheese. It was very good. Our waitress was so sweet and professional. This hotel is nice and gives you a homelike feel. It is family friendly and all the kids there love the pool. read more

We decided to start our vacation a day early to avoid the Saturday morning beach traffic so we stayed here for an over night stY. The hotel is conveniently located but is tucked back behind Wendy's. We were a little early so we decided to check in and our room was ready. Front desk staff was ver nice. We booked on an internet site and there were no problems. It was reasonably priced for a Friday night. The room and bathroom were both clean and the the beds were comfortable. Each room has a Keurig coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. The air conditioner was in good working order and had a the thermostat on the wall so you could control the internal room temp. They also offer a hearty breakfast buffet in the lobby for only $9.99 per person which is pretty convenient. We came down for breakfast and a large family affair was taking place so it was completely packed and chaotic. My family managed to find a seat and the staff seemed stressed and a bit disorganized. One staff member (Afton) was a great. Definitely a standout! She was totally efficient and always served food with a smile. She was calm in a a sea of chaos and ensured that the food order was executed right. I would definitely recommend this hotel for an overnight stay. read more

My husband and his 92 year old father stayed here in room 320, a handicapped accessible junior suite. We booked the hotel even though we live locally because our house is not accessible and we wanted my father in law's visit to be pleasant. Contrary to what we were told when booking it had only one bed and a pullout sofa. The sofa bed was not made. We tried to call the front desk but after 15 or 20 minutes gave up and I went down to the front desk. I asked for housekeeping to make the bed and was told they were gone for the day and given linens to make it myself. There was a walk in shower with grab bars, but no shower seat. Breakfast was over at 10 am and the restaurant closed. Room service did not pick up the phone. Not good value for the money. It was clean and the staff was friendly. read more

As a HHonors member, Hilton is where I like to stay. This hotel is nice and everything is in order as it should be. The location is convenient, right off of U.S.1 and Route 13. The staff members were amenable and efficient. Let me share a story. We were awoken to a fire alarm around 5:30 AM on Thanksgiving morning!. Apparently, too much smoke came out of the oven and set off the alarms. While sleepy patrons filed out in their pajamas and coats, there were no staff members to be seen, nor did a fire engine come to our rescue. We were standing outside waiting for instructions. Some of us got into our cars to get some heat. After about 20 minutes or so, an older lady came out with her walker. No sooner had she gotten into the car when a fire official drove up, went inside, gave the all clear and left. We started to file back in. Later, staff called each room to apologize but they did not offer free breakfast or anything else for our inconvenience. Fortunately for them, I love Hilton hotels and let it go. One of the nicer hotels in Dover. The rooms are nice, modern, and very clean. There is a Keurig in the room with daily refills which is a nice bonus. Mini fridge and microwave in room. Neutrogena shampoo and bath products are a nice upgrade from generic hotel soaps. The restaurant and bar in the hotel are nice (nothing special, in my opinion, but decent). The hotel is located on the far end of Dover but is still very close to everything that the town has to offer. Again, one of the nicer hotels in Dover. read more

Love this hotel. From Supervisor Teressa to the cleaning staff these people all gave us superior service. We stayed at this hotel for seven nights as we were sitting with our terminally ill son. Teressa was so compassionate and concerned that she couldn't do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. What a wonderful lady. We chose the Hilton Garden Inn for our 1st/35th anniversary celebration and couldn't have been more pleased. From our initial meeting to the final event the manager and staff couldn't have been more helpful. They had many suggestions and were always available to answer our questions. They even helped us with the decorations and had some good placement ideas. The manager even suggested a better way to organize the reception line than what we were thinking of doing. We chose three different appetizers as well as three different main dish selections for the buffet. I was very pleased with the way everything was cooked and presented. I was especially taken with the vegetable medley. This is one of my least favorite dishes as the vegetables usually are over cooked, the squash is usually watery, and most often, not well seasoned. Not so here. All three entrees were excellently prepared. The beef was so tender you could cut it with your fork, the lemon pepper chicken was just right and we had more then one compliment on the cranberry crusted salmon. Chef Sam is to be complimented on the whole evening's food presentation from the Hors d'oeuvres to the main meal. His staff was always ready to take away a plate, refill a coffee cup, or whatever else a person needed. Kudos to the whole catering team. We had several guests take advantage of the special rate for the rooms and not one of them had any complaints about their accommodations. The special room rate included a full breakfast service the next morning and all of those that we spoke with were highly impressed with the selection and service. After the party more than one person remarked at how they would consider using the facility for any event they were planning. I recently stayed at this hotel because my wife and I were preparing for her to run her first marathon. When we called to confirm our room the front desk clerk made it her business to make sure we were in the system. Upon arriving, the front desk clerk was told of what we were doing there and she automatically put us in the farthest corner of the hotel to ensure we would have peace and quiet. The next morning my wife started her race at 7am at the Dover Speedway which is minutes from this hotel. After about 45 minutes after my wife took off I went back to the hotel to explore alittle. They had a very nice gym for someone who wants to get a good morning workout and next to it a indoor pool with a spa. I also found a business center which is where I spent most of my time while I waited on my wife to finish. Before going to the busineas center I went to the large open lobby and had breakfast. It was made to order. Whatever I wanted was at my fingertips. It was wonderful. After breakfast I asked the front desk clerk for more time so my wife could take a shower after running such a long race (26.2 miles). She said it would be her pleasure to allow me more time for that. So hours went by I picked my wife up and we went back to the hotel and when she walked in the people in the front applauded her. It made her feel so special and warm. I loved that moment for her also. In conclusion, I am a hilton Honors member and I say in Hiltons monthly nationwide and I would definitely recommend this place anybody who is looking the hilton stamp of approval.
