We had 2 separate stays here in less than a week due to family emergencies. The staff recognized us when we checked in the 2nd time was kind and friendly. The property is a little older, but kept clean. We have a note on file about please no feather pillows in our room and they were one of the very few properties to make sure our room was feather free due to allergy. Decent place to stay. Lots of parking, room was a nice size and clean, and there were cookies in the little display when I checked in. The pool was really cold, but some kids tolerated it. It's disappointing to have an indoor pool that isn't heated. The hot tub was nice and relaxing. The gym was standard, but it had regular equipment, weights, and water, so it sufficed for what I needed. The breakfast was pretty good and included in the stay. It has a good assortment of eggs, breakfast meats, oatmeal, pastries, and fruits. For a hotel breakfast, it was solid with some good health and some not as healthy options. It's worth it to save money on going on out for breakfast. Overall, a good stay, especially if a suite is what you need. read more

They are truly just okay. Solid 3/5 place. 1. Cleanliness: 5 stars. The place was cleaned well. 2. Comfort / bed: 4 stars. The blinds are truly good. They will block the sunlight so well, you can actually sleep in. The bed is okay and the comforters are light, but warm enough especially since when we stayed here, it was 75F. The couch turns into rather comfortable pull out bed for kids to sleep on. 3. Bathroom: it was so annoying to have to ask for towels every day and bring the used towel to the reception. 4. Kitchen - they have small kitchen where you can cook and refrigerator that is full size, so if you are staying long, it is a great place. 5. Location: they are located very close from the top 3 places to eat in Dover city. 6. Breakfast: free but need to grab some stuff and need to eat in your room. They have hot tea, coffee, horrible tasting muffin, to-go yoghurt, extreme basics. All in all, it is a decent place. it is not a fancy hotel and does not advertise as such. Nice, comfortable stay. We stayed twice in one week, to and from our trip to Vermont. We especially liked the kitchen area with full-sized refrigerator, since we travel with lots of soft drinks and snacks. The staff was very friendly and helpful, too. read more

This past weekend I stayed at this hotel for the 2nd time. I will say when I stayed last year I had absolutely no issues. This was not the case this time. I used my Marriott premier customer app for express check in. I received notification that my room was ready at 10 am. Upon my arrival at 3 pm, that was not the case. My friends and I were in town for a friend's event at this hotel otherwise we would have left. Our room was filthy. The receptionist was unprofessional. They treat their guests horribly. Their GM, Lisa Smyth and Assistant Manager, Katherine G., don't know how to run a hotel. I fell and they never checked on me. They kicked me out the day I fell. My room didn't get clean except for once a week. The front desk is ridiculous! Amber plays the poor me. I gave her food and then find out that she has an extra $1000 between her and her husband. The kitchen staff is very nice! I will never stay here again! I have never been treated so bad in my life. I was a long term stay. read more

Very nice hotel with a pool and a basketball court. I wish the pool stayed open until 12! The morning breakfast was decent. The sitting area was limited though. The room was very spacious. The employees were very welcoming. Housekeeping knocked on our door to ensure that we didnt need anything. The receptionist also double checked to ensure that our stay was perfect. Ambassador Elite member at Marriott (over 1200+ stays in 37 year member of Marriott benefits programs, now BonVoy) I've never encountered a more incompetent staff than this hotel's personnel. Multiple complaints about the room (shower head broken, tub didn't drain/backed up with muck coming back into the tub; toaster broken) which went unresolved (they fixed the drain but left me a note telling me the "microwave seemed to work fine"; went back to explain the misunderstanding regarding toaster and shower head - still not resolved after 18 hours). Every time I've come to explain my challenge, the initial and strong response I get is "its not my fault" without a pivot to how they can help me other than "they'll look into it". I had asked to have my room cleaned every day without fail, only to come back to room 3x throughout the day to find it not cleaned; went to complain to front desk and I encountered a hostile desk rep (young man, glasses, hipster beard) who refused to give me his name and told me b/c of COVID he couldn't help me). Cumulating with the final "embarrassment threat" of expelling me from property because I asked to speak to a manager (he said he was the manager) and when I asked for his name he refused to vie me his name. He continued to threaten me with throwing me out of the property and told me to sit down and he'd get to me when he was "good and ready". I called the Ambassador hotline at 402-548-9598 but after 10+ min of music, nobody answered. read more

Great hotel! Great employees! I was here for a weekend retreat that my church hosted and was very happy with the facilities AND staff. The rooms are spacious and the conference room that we used was just right for our "meetings" There was a complimentary breakfast too - yes! WAFFLES, eggs, sausage, breakfast potatoes and more. I almost forgot to mention the FREE Wi-Fi. The hotel is located in a great location with various restauarants and other stores such as WalMart, TJ Maxx and Target. I am so looking forward to coming back to this hotel and I am trying to figure out REASONS to book a room here. read more

I have stayed on this hotel a couple of times before and found it very welcoming for someone traveling with a pet. This time however upon arrival with my pet I was informed of a $150 non refundable pet fee. I was frustrated, but after having traveled 6 hours with a howling cat we were both happy to be out of the car. I was using points and they were gracious to upgrade to a suite so at least I was just paying what I normally would have been paying. Found room clean , but then went to turn down bed to sheets that you could literally see through to a stained mattress. Not very welcoming Definitely not the same under new management!! read more

My family and I stayed here after a concert at the Delaware State Fair for one night. We got to the hotel late and checked in. They gave us a handicapped suite which was no big deal. The reason I am giving it 2 stars is the fact that they have the rudest, condescending front desk person(it was shift change and the gentlemen that checked us in was pleasant) I have ever encountered. After we settled into the room I tried to connect to the free Wi-Fi. It requested your room # and last name. Every time I tried it came up not found. After several attempts I called the front desk and got "Her". She was about as useless as tits on a boar hog. She had no clue what to do about the problem other then to say keep trying and call back in 10 minutes if it still is not working. I tried several more times with no luck. They do have Wi-Fi for pay at $6.95 per day and I even tried that with no luck. My wife called about 20 minutes later and got "Her" again and she told my wife you just called 5 minutes ago ( it was over 20 minutes later) and asked my wife what she wanted her to do about it since she wasn't the IT person. She was very rude and condescending and should never be in a position that interacts with the public. Overall the hotel was nice, beds were soft, somewhat clean, but I have very high standards for cleanliness, my oldest liked the free hot breakfast which is only served until 0930 on weekdays. Close to the Monster Mile but there seems to be some sketchy housing development behind the hotel. Section 8 maybe? If a manager from the hotel reads this review you may want to offer some remedial training to "Her" when interacting with customers. read more

I am an avid Marriott member and this is my go to spot when I'm in Dover. On any given occasion my stay is pleasant and I'm one happy girl. Well, I checked in last night, no issues my girl Liz was working at the front desk. I absolutely love her she's so down to earth and remembers my preferences :) This morning I went to breakfast and of course there were a lot of folks due to the Holiday. That was fine and dandy. However, when I went to dispense the waffle mix to make a waffle it was watery. I told the attendant and she said "oh that's ok". A gentleman next to me was like oh no it's not! I proceeded to poor the mix onto the waffle maker and the mix started running out of the griddle. The attendant says watch out it's running out. I said ya think??! That's what I reported in the first place. So, she comes and snatched out the container that's holding the watery substance and returns with a mixture that has a better consistency. I thank her for finally doing something and make my waffle. I decided to take my food back to my room. I get all the way down and around the back of the hotel, where my room is located, try to get in my room and the card won't work after several attempts. I walk all the back to the front past the breakfast area to the front desk, where I find Cecilia and I tell her my issue. She takes the card and says the card was demagnetized that's the problem. I said I didn't have it near my car keys or anything she said the cell phone can do it. I said ok and asked for a late checkout. She asked how late. Mind you standard checkout is at noon so I said 1pm. She gave me the side eye and said I'll see what I can do. You would've thought I asked her for a million dollars. Geez! I said every time I come here I ask for a late checkout and I am granted that with no hesitation. She said ok I'll let the housekeepers know. Cecilia hands me my key back, I pick my plate of food up, and follow the hall back to my room. Get there and once again the card doesn't work. I am furious. I have dropped every condiment that I struggled to carry, spilled coffee down the front of me, and again have been denied access to my room. I call the front desk and Cecilia answers. She states that it's the battery and she'll send the houseman around. He arrived almost immediately (way to go to that staff member, wish I knew his name) and uses a card. I told him she said it was demagnetized the first time and this time she said it was the battery. He said it wasn't neither, they put the wrong times in the system and don't double check for accuracy. That explains it! Frustrated and so over the hassle of a stay at the Residence Inn. read more

In between residences so we booked a 5 day stay_ no breakfast, quick cereal cups and juices, no Coffee only Tea Bags. We booked a two bedroom suite and have a Pet. Was told pet friendly rooms are on first floor. We arrived and was given a room on the 3rd floor. Housekeeper said 2nd floor room was available, so we took it. The room smelled like raw Sewage, as soon as you walk in. The clerk said, all the #-17 rooms smell that way; and they don't know why. We were not offered another room, but point son my membership. Clerk came up to spray with an Odor Neutralizer; didn't work. No pool or Gym due to Covid-19, I guess,; was never told. I won't say Price gouging ,but $199.00 a night for no amenities and a stinky room sounds pretty bad to me. Also, there was no housekeeping; we had to bag out linen up, call downstairs and then put it in the hallway and wait until they wash them and return them that same day. I asked to borrow a Vacuum or a Broom and was denied. The rooms were clean and neat but the bed was too soft and allows you to sink into it, and would not recommend this hotel at all. Didn't enjoy the stay, poor environment, unclean smelly rooms. read more

I have to admit, staying in the giant 2 room suite here may have a lot to do with the positiveness of my review. Regardless, our stay was very pleasant. We were moving homes at the time, and I have never appreciated a high quality mattress and a hot tub more than I did this weekend. The staff was courteous and accommodating, our room was tidied in a prompt and thorough manner, and the breakfast was stellar. Lots of healthy options- I didn't know that Canadian bacon could be made with turkey (as it is kinda just ham) but it was delicious and guilt-free. The indoor pool was spacious, very clean and not overly warm, which we appreciated after moving boxes in 90 degree heat. Having a kitchen in our room (and every room, apparently) also saved us a lot of money because we didn't have to eat out for every meal all weekend. I was even able to do my laundry and watch the baseball game. We would definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed here a while back and it wasn't that bad. I had to hit one star because 0 star was not available. This time absolutely will never be back. The conditioning wasn't working the room never cooled down during the entire night I heard this loud noise coming from the air conditioning unit keeping my whole family up. Went down to breakfast around 8:30am and they were running out of everything and would not replace anything. Even after I specifically asked the young lady who was Manning the breakfast area she just said no. When we let the General Manager know about how bad the stay was, he said sorry and that was all. Can not get my night back, but will be contacting corporate. read more

This is a wonderful hotel. The people are all nice, from the front desk, to the housekeeping staff, to the people cutting the lawn. The hotel has a nice lobby, pool table, basketball court, indoor pool, work out room(which isn't big, but clean and working)The kitchen area and breakfast area is spotless, and large and the presention and quality of food is much better than most hotels that provide a free breakfast. They offered yogurt, fruit, toast, muffins, eggs, sausage, juices, oatmeal, really a lot of choices, and it is maintained throughout the morning. They also offer quite a few newspapers and have a few t.v.s for morning news. The rooms are clean and well kept, the hotel is relatively new and in very good shape. It would get 5 stars except for our room keys stopped working a few times and that was a bit irritating, and the gym only has treadmills, a stair master and one bike.....so if it had a bit more, that would be good. otherwise a nice place to stay. If you have kids, the suites are amazing. we had a two bedroom suite, and we had our own bathroom and bedroom, and my son had his own bedroom and bathroom, and we had a sitting room, table and kitchen.
