Needed help removing a dead deer from our backyard. Very sad. Mid-Atlantic responded very quickly and pricing was beyond fair.

I have had MidAtlantic Wildlife Control come out twice to deal with racoons in my attic. Last year they installed one way cages on 2 broken-into vents out of the 3 in my attic. They had recommended installing a 3rd cage on the 3rd vent that hadn't been broken into, but I unwisely said no. They came out this year to install the 3rd cage on my now broken-into 3rd vent. They have been great both times they came out. John is very honest and will suggest only what is needed to fix the problem, which I found to be rare among many wildlife/pest control companies I have called. His prices are very reasonable as well. read more

I highly recommend this company. They de-birded my house and 2 neighbors homes. "Rob' and 'Nick' were very professional and efficient. Office scheduler was polite, responsive. Came within 24 hours of my call. Understood the project and cleaned up well. Pricing is probably comparable or a little less than other similar companies (my guess). John is fantastic! A rat snake entered our shed and became caught in some bird netting. I made calls to other companies who assured me they would "take care of my problem" but I suspected that they meant "kill the snake". I called Mid Atlantic Wildlife Control and knew immediately that John was committed to relocating this beneficial snake. John was able to free her and relocate her back into the woods behind my home. While he was here, he noticed another rat snake in a tree near my neighbor's attic, he removed it before it had a chance to enter their home. Rat snakes are harmless and an important part of the Maryland ecosystem, but that doesn't mean I want to hold them or welcome them into my home! I'll be calling John again if I have any type of wildlife issue! read more

I love working with this company and will call with all my future needs, that I hopefully won't have! They were prompt in scheduling my inspection and quickly saw the evidence of the bats in my attic. They were able to remove the bats and repair their entry point to my home with ease. They even cleaned up the bat guano and saved me the trouble! From my first call to the scheduler, to my experience with the technician, they were pleasant to deal with and you could tell they really love what they do and helping people solve problems. The technician was on time and very courteous. I hope to never need their services again, but if I do, I know who I'm calling! read more

I called in some distress because we had found a few small snakes in the basement. John provided me with information and advice about preventing snakes from getting into my home. He easily spent 20 minutes on the phone with me and did not charge me anything for the consultation. I felt so much better after I talked with him. We're a repeat customer. We had birds that got into a dryer vent last year and Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control fit us in the same day. Had to call again this year for a couple of other vents. The birds came back and tried to next in a couple of other vents. Mid-Atlantic came today and they took care of everything quickly and no birds got hurt in the process. SCUMMIEST/MOST INHUMANE COMPANY. NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Hired them because we had 10 groundhogs. They said they would be out every 24 hours which did not happen. They took my payment on a Wednesday and didn't hear back from them until the following Tuesday. They took my payment then I never heard back from them. It got to the point that the groundhogs DIED in the cages the day after they set the traps (all 7 that were caught died). I called over 30 times since we caught the first one so they could come clear the cages. Never answered and NO VOICEMAIL. They smelled so bad from decomposing because of the heat and rain I had to move them to the corner of my property because they were literally stinking up my cul-de-sac. We had vultures picking at the cages on the 5th day. Finally called the natural resource police to file a report on this JOKE of a business. When the officer got a hold of the owner on the phone, he said they had someone come out every 24hrs and clear/re-bait the traps - TOTAL BS. Me and the officer watched my cameras which record 24/7 - not one visit. Either the owners employees are lying about making the visits or he is aware of it and just a sorry excuse for a business owner. Most inhumane company the fact they're still in business is a true miracle. I spent $400 to basically have the animals die a slow death in the heat in the cages. Had I known that, I would have trapped them myself and drove them off my property. DO NOT hire this company unless you want to pay to torture animals. Absolute MISERABLE and traumatic experience. My wife and 3 month old baby had to spend 7 days with dead animals in cages in our yard. Company only answers calls for new business so they wont answer me. I want my money back but I'd be more happy if this sh*t company got shut down. read more

I heard some scratching in the walls one day followed by a foul smell a few days later, so I was sure something had died in the wall. I have regular servicing with a large pest control company and contacted them first to come take a look. They said they couldn't open the wall to look and that was it (I'm not happy with that large company, but that's not part of this review). That same evening, I contacted Mid-Alantic Wildlife Control and spoke with John who listened patiently to my story. He said he could get someone out the very next day to take a look and scheduled the team to come out around my schedule. The next day, Pete and Ryan came out bright, early, and on-time. They introduced themselves and listened to my description of the issue. They explained what they could and couldn't do, which John had also explained to me (they can open the wall but cannot fix the drywall afterwards). After coming up with contract and payment, Pete and Ryan got to work. They went bay by bay between studs in the wall to neatly open up the drywall until they found the source of odor. Because I knew where the sounds had been coming from, they only had to open 3 bays to find the two dead mice that were the issue. They vacuumed up the drywall dust afterwards and left the drywall squares that they cut out intact for me to temporarily patch the holes. With the friendliness, speed, and thoroughness of this company on just this one project, I will for sure consider going back to them again for other animal control issues if I ever have any in the future (hopefully I will not though). I had a raccoon trapped in my attic. He got in and I did such a good job sealing the hole, he couldn't get out. I called Mid-Atlantic last night and they came today. Called me with an hours notice and were on time. The 2 gentlemen wiped their feet before coming in and were very professional. They captured the raccoon within 2 minutes and had it out of my house a minute later. Highly professional and effective. read more

I have a squirrel problem so I called mid-atlantic animal control to trap and relocate the squirrels from my property. I spoke to the owner personally and he assured me that he would come the next day to set the traps. I waited all day for him and he nor anyone from Mid-Atlantic showed up. I ended up calling a different animal control company. I would suggest that the ""Rave Reviews"" seen here were from relatives or employees of Mid-Atlantic. My recommendation: If you have an animal problem Do Not Call this outfit. Call a more reputable company. read more

This business took my $95 just to confirm an issue I already knew I had calling it an "assessment fee". This money is supposed to come off of the total price of the job a job that never happened! The employee took pictures of the damage but refused to share them with me, citing some policy about not giving customers personal cell phone numbers. You don't have a work cell? Maybe they learned a lesson and started reducing the amount of contact numbers for customer complaints. Maybe he knew he was getting ready to rip me off! The manager certainly didn't have the pictures, when I finally reached him, he said he had to get the pictures from the employee. Mind you this is damage beneath the gutters at the top of the house so i could not take my own pictures. After I agreed to terms the manager was supposed to call me for scheduling. I literally had to call and leave messages and after finally speaking to the manager and him saying "I will call you back in "5min" and never called back, I looked for a new company. We had two separate bat sightings in our house. One we found lodged in an interior wall, unable to find his way out. Another we found hanging upside down from a cathedral ceiling. At my wife's beckoning, I decided to call a specialist with the hope they could help locate the point of ingress. Mid-Atlantic Wildlife performed an inspection of my roof line, pulling at areas where the flashing was a bit loose. They found nothing remarkable but did notice my neighbor's soffit was nearly detached from his roof and surmised that it was the point of ingress. They offered to make me a deal if I could convince my neighbor to let them make the necessary repairs. I was not enthralled with the idea of bothering my neighbor, nor was I in agreement that his soffit was the culprit. When I inquired about what they could do to "tighten up" my residence, they told me they could not perform the work today and suggested I call their office for an appointment. They also reminded me to speak with my neighbor about his detached soffit. At this point I knew these guys weren't interested in my business... read more

Another company lied to my face regarding a bat situation. I almost let another company illegally remediate chimney BIRDS that are protected! Thankfully I called Mid Atlantic Wildlife. I can't say enough good things about John & Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control. I had a problem with another contractor coming into my attic for a suspected raccoon problem and telling me that the raccoon did $3,900 worth of damage (check my other reviews for the entire story). I called John for a second opinion and I knew immediately that he was an honest, reputable businessman. He offered to come out and take a look at our situation. It turned out the previous contractor had capitalized on the fact that we were women and terrified of this supposed monster in our attic (and, thus, not going to go look for ourselves), because there was very little damage and certainly not $3,900 worth of work. In fact, there wasn't even a raccoon up there! While he said there isn't even enough work that needs to be done in the attic to justify us hiring him, I'll be calling John and Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control next week to come completely seal off the raccoon's access point to my attic so we have total peace of mind. It's so hard to find a contractor you can trust these days that won't take advantage of you-- but look no further, John is your guy. (And as another example of him going above and beyond the call of duty, I asked him whether or not insurance usually pays for these things... he asked who our insurer was... and he proceeded to read off to me literally word for word what was written in our policy. I was having a squirrel problem, and was losing my mind with what to do about it. I called a couple places and ended being referred to mid-atlantic by another pest management guy because he didnt do squirrels. I called mid-atlantic, left a message and a guy called me back within 10 minutes. He was able to use google streets to help (over the phone) diagnose and correctly assess where and how the squirrels were getting in. But here is the kicker, it was such an easy fix that he helped explain to me how this could be fixed by a handyman or homeowner and what supplies were needed from Home Depot. He didnt charge me a dime. I really appreciated the honesty and have to say that I would highly recommend this honest business, and would call them back for any pest management issues in the future! Anyone struggling with birds building nests behind their shutters or anywhere undesirable I highly recommend Mid Atlantic Wildlife Services they came out today and not only removed all the nests and debris but also installed metal between the shutters and the stone that they carefully cut and painted to match the shutters to fit all for a very affordable price. The guys were very professional and meticulous. I know from neighbors too that they do it all for Wildlife control. I would highly recommend them for anything Wildlife related! We had a good experience with Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control. We had a snake that we were concerned might be planning to winter under our front steps. I spoke with John (co-owner), and he calmed me down, and sent someone out with a trap right away. It worked! A few days later, he came out to do some restoration work to ensure that they wouldn't have a place to come and den in. The work came out to half the estimated cost, because he said it was an easier job than he anticipated. Seriously, who says that? Really was appreciative of the positive customer service. BTW, we were concerned when we saw a few negative posts, and we did have one back-and-forth communication for scheduling, but it just took us picking up the phone to confirm, and we got everything squared away. Turned out that someone in the office was sick, and that messed up their schedule. Overall, would definitely use again and highly recommended! read more

We had tried ourselves to solve the problem and there are many places that bats could enter the building, so I understand the difficulty of their task. But, Mid-Atlantic was persistent. Had a clan of squirrels in our attic. Danny came out to solve our probelm and did a fantastic job in getting rid of them. He set a humane trap over the hole they made and on the roof. Over a period of almost a week, they were all captured and taken off to be released far away. Since then, we've had no problems or attempts at getting back into the house by other squirrels. Can't say enough about the great service and professional/respectful candor of the previous Navy Seabee, Danny who handled everything diligently. Sept 11, 2020 Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control is the BEST company I have worked with in years! John and his crew were prompt with my initial inspection and then with the scheduled work. Living next to the woods, I have always had a problem with occasional mice inside and recently a 3-foot black snake, also inside. John returns your calls right away. His crew found, sealed, and repaired flaws in my house that were allowing rodents, pest etc to enter, all of which I was unaware of. And they put bait traps (safe for my dogs) around the entire house. I plan on having Mid-Atlantic come out every year for an inspection so I never have this problem again. Other Wildlife Control Co.'s gave me quotes for expensive inspections. Mid-Atlantic was extremely reasonably priced for the absolutely AMAZING job they did. Five stars all the way! From the onset of my initial call to them, I could tell that this is a company deeply dedicated to both the homeowner and the animals in its procedures, knowledge, and approach to capture, prevention, repair and clean up. My experience with Mid-Atlantic was perfection! Yes PERFECTION! I'm a lawyer so yes I know it's a lost art, but when I tell you that John and his team OVER delivered its honestly a huge understatement. The company came out to my home about 24 hours after my call, strategically set the traps, assessed possible and actual entry ways and holes that squirrels may have been getting into the attic. They also gave me an estimate on the work needed on the outside, insulation, wood damage etc, and patiently discussed the full trapping process with me. This is a business that makes you think, hmm, I wonder how they actually stay in business. Three different times, they were supposed to show up for an appointment to trap squirrels in my attic and three different times, they failed to show up. Each time, I called to see where they were, whether or not they were on their way, whether or not I should continue to waste my time waiting for them to show up. Very disappointed by Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control. Last week, I had called John to schedule a bird removal. John informed me that a tech would be out between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. John gave me a call today (day of the appointment) to confirm that I still wanted his services to remove birds from my vent. I confirmed "yes," and he told me that Matt would be by my house at 4:30pm. I waited until 5:30pm because I figured that the window of time was still in effect, despite having been told that Matt would be here at 4:30pm. I gave John a call at 5:30pm and left a voicemail. 6:00pm came around and still no technician. I called John 2 more times and texted, still no response. Interestingly, John has been very responsive prior. Because I thought Mid-Atlantic will still coming out, I stayed in the house when I had other errands that I could have run. In addition, I had waited all weekend for this appointment to come to remove the birds and clean my vent. The time that I spent waiting, I could have called and scheduled another company to do the job. I am very disappointed at the poor customer service in the sense that they had a lack of courtesy to call me and tell me that they would not be able to come out and reschedule--that is the least that you could have done. I am glad that I did not spend $250.00 here for this type of service. Please manage your schedule better and possibly look into hiring a main service dispatch agent (if you do not have one already) to intake customer calls, schedule appointments, and manage your technicians' schedules. read more

We noticed bat droppings and then a significant increase in bat droppings in two different areas around our house. We looked online for information to help us rid the bats ourselves and decided to call experts. Told over the phone $95 for them to come out, survey the problem, provide us with a plan and a quote. The $95 would go toward the work if we moved forward with the work. The nice woman on the phone didn't seem to want to give me an round about estimate of what this quote might me once they came out but she stated probably high end would be $375. The man who came out was nice and informative. He provided two different plans and quotes. We went with the lesser which was $475. He screened and sealed our gable vent and another identified area. We understood that a cone would be placed in the gable vent so bats could exit, but not return through there. No cone was left because the man thought he got all the bats out and my husband was recommended to go around the entire perimeter of the house and seal any cracks under the molding where they could enter. He did the very next morning. We discovered more bats. The man came back out and retrieved them from the attic first thing that morning. Next day my husband went to the attic and there was another.... when we reached out to them again and asked if he should have left the cone so the bats would have an exit point where they could not return they then were upset with us and said that we are not normal customers and are asking too much. $475 for screen and caulk seems really high too me. The man who came out twice was so nice and helpful and told us to call if anything else was needed. I guess I should not have assumed follow up service would be included. We are not the experts and did not realized there may be more bats in the attic with no way to exit when the cone was not placed the first day when the work was done. The man who finally did come and place the cone stated that the cone only comes with them fully sealing the home and any follow up or guarantee only comes with the complete seal. It was quoted at $675 for a complete seal screen and cone and was never stated that no guarantee would be provided. The amazing thing is... I was even telling my neighbors and friends how great the customer service was after the first two days... on day 3 the ugliness came out and the man told my husband he would install the cone and he was done with us. 2 stars because the man who came out the first two times was really nice and did help educate us on our problem. The loss of the other 3 is due to day 3 poor communication and service. read more

This initially sounded like a great company to help me catch some obnoxious raccoons. However, once they had delivered 3 traps with food inside, and then picked up one caught raccoon, that was the end of them. I asked them to replace the trap they removed but that request was refused with a "You won't need it." When I asked them to bring more food because some animals had eaten most of the raccoon food, I was told the manager would call but he never did. I also asked for a replacement of one of the traps which was quite old & the latch would not catch but that never happened either, and here it is some three days after my requests. They are NOT open on Sundays or, it appears, major holidays. It seems that they think the raccoons have a calendar & should know it's Sunday or Labour Day.They charge $275. to bring the traps with food and then $45.00 for each caught raccoon. At those prices, service should be better. I would NOT use them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more
