I went today 6/5 and I explained that I needed a piece of wood and gave the SKI number. I also told the older gentleman at the contractor desk that I had no idea what o was getting and I needed help. He told me to head to the yard and look for the SKU. after searching for 10 minutes and FaceTiming with my husband we could not find it. I went back to the gentleman at the contractor desk and told him I could not find the wood and I would need a refund. He then processed my refund. Really? He let me return an item instead of finding someone to help me. We have been on the Cape for 35 years and NEVER been treated so poorly. We will NEVER return to that store read more

The carpenter I hired to replace the front door on my home gave me precise measurements of all the hinge locations so my new door would fit perfectly. I gave the measurements to the Mid-Cape door salesman, but when the door was unpacked at my home the hinge recesses were not where we had specified! I complained to Mid-Cape that the carpenter had to charge me an extra $100 to rectify their error, but Mid-Cape refused to accept responsibility and pay for their failure. Kitchen and Bath cabinets Nightmare...I need a manager (or someone that can help) to call me about an order that was placed in Nov/Dec 2021. We received 25 kitchen cabinet components and 8 were either the wrong size or built incorrectly (we were not aware that they outsource the cabinet making). We are not sure if it was mis-ordered by Mid Cape Orleans or built incorrectly by the third party cabinet maker. We were told that it would take 2 weeks to be fixed and delivered to us. It's been 4 weeks and we only received 2 of the 8 and they are both wrong! So that's going to take another 4 weeks on this schedule??? read more

I ordered a propane stove and specifically asked if I could have it delivered AND installed. I was told, "Yes." When they called to give me a delivery time I again asked about installation and was told, "Yes." I said I wanted to confirm the stove would be working when they left and was told, "Yes." Same thing when they called to revise the delivery time. Then the stove arrived and No, there wasn't anyone who was licensed to do the installation. So here I sit with a brand new stove that's useless until the plumber can get over here in another week. Careful when ordering from these guys. They'll tell you anything. It may be more cost effective (certainly time effective) to order from someone who can truly deliver and install the stove. read more

Came here to buy a door with my parents and then a few other sundries. I was a little concerned when the first person we went to seemed to direct us to another building but the next three people who assisted us absolutely impressed me. Robin was immediate in her response, well informed, worked out pros and cons provided a fast quote. Another worker was fast to bring a stool for my mother who has limeted mobility. And finally, Avery, was very helpful with some other sundries needed. Very satisfying visit all around. read more

This is the third time I have used Orleans Mid Cape for a house project. Not to mention frequent stops for smaller items. The first time it was for kitchen/bathroom cabinets. The kitchen design department appeared we were inconveniencing them by ordering cabinets. I was hoping this was isolated to unhappy employees in the kitchen design area. The second interaction was better. I sat down with someone in window/door department. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. This time we returned to order a new front door. They have no employees in that area anymore. I was directed to the contractors desk. The customer service was poor. I was again made to feel as if I was an imposition when asking for specifics on how to order the doors. The reason consumers frequent stores like this is for excellent customer service and expertise with a trade off for some higher costs. If that dynamic isn't present we might as well shop at Home Depot for better pricing. read more

I arrived at Mid-Cape in Oreleans just as the employees were leaving for the day as the store was closing. "Sorry, we're closed, unless you're the cleaning crew," they said. Then one of them, Rene, stepped forward, and asked "Do you know what you want and can you purchase with a credit card?" Yes, to both, I said! She unlocked the doors and brought me into the completely unlit store, shined her cell phone like a flashlight to help me find the item (a strike plate for my door knob), started up the computer and charged me out. NOW THAT IS SERVICE THAT GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND. I've been to this store in the past and have always been pleased, but this is just ridiculously good. You're not going to get that at the big box stores!!!!! read more

Mid -Cape in Orleans,I'd give them an 8 1/2 out of 10 which is pretty good. For the most part they carry good QUALITY lumber and hardware. If you are looking for cheap stuff go to the big box but remember this you get what you pay for. So many people seem to forget this simple fact. Don't bother to go to their outlet in Orleans. Midcape has new owners and they are not customer friendly. I took my cousin there the other day. She's gutting a kitchen. I did my own there, maybe six years ago, with the old owners. The old owners were great. Plenty of people, including designers to help. My designer came to my home with my contractor. But that's an old story. The other day there was not a single designer in that joint. We were also told that designers did not come to the home. I didn't like what I saw the other day. The customer service in this place is terrible! I needed to buy some plywood for a project I am having someone do for me. The man who waited on me acted as if he could care less about helping me and when I asked about looking at the product to decide between two options, I was rudely told I could see it "out back." which turned out to be the empty bowels of a lumber yard with nine buildings. When I returned to the main store to ask for a "manager" who might be able to give me a little more direction, I was told that was who I had been speaking to. Turns out he was actually just the "assistant manager" and he was rude and completely unhelpful. I will never go to this store again. Do yourself a favor and take the extra drive to Home Depot in Hyannis. They are friendly and courteous and you'll save yourself some money, even with the extra gas mileage factored in. read more

Came here to inquire as to bathroom designs for our new 4 BR home. Terrible experience and we have a lot of work to get done but I will never give this company my business. A skinny woman with whitish hair was working and I asked her about bathrooms. She was very confusing and I had to ask do you do design and remodel or sell products? She said we sell products, "I wouldn't come and tell you what toilet to buy". WHAT? I asked her a few times, I'm sorry, I am looking to remodel and buy products. She said go to a place in Yarmouth. I said well, this bathroom display here, we wanted something like this with a tub. She said we don't have any tubs on display. I said Okay so do you have a website? It was awful. I felt like I had a sign on me that said do anything BUT help this person. I don't understand. I am a fluent english speaker and I think she is.
