Visited Mid City Hand Car Wash on a Sunday and as expected based upon the reviews they aren't the quickest even though 2-3 workers conduct the car cleaning. Overall the price is within reason of what I'd expect to pay but the prices are set to go up due to command. The outside of car wash spotless and I was very thrilled to see it shine. The entire was mostly spotless too but it was lacking in some areas. On my seats the vacuums didn't clean through and there was small dirt/crumbs still and with the platinum wash I would expect them to take the mats out hose them down and wash it as well but that wasn't the case. Overall the do a good job but do a fully through inspection prior to departing. Also remember, if you select platinum your service includes an air freshener don't let them forget that; I had to remind them. read more

The wait was a little long but a man already there kept telling me it was worth it. I had two trips to Tennessee recently and had lots of bugs on my bumper and windshield. Most of which is still there even after their service washing. This place is great to wipe off simple dirt and vacuum some twigs and rocks. But not for detailing. I had spilled some syrup in my middle dash and it was still there. The crew responsible for the inside detailing didn't see it because it was still there when I left and spread onto my touch screen I will say my car certainly felt cleaner and just over all nicer to be in after a long winter and two long car trips. I do appreciate the service. However, I might come back, might just take the time to do it myself. I felt as though I should have pointed out the finer details I needed prior to service. I'm not sure if I'm expecting too much or their service just fell short. I paid for their platinum service at $20 and left a fair tip. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. I've been to Mid City about 10 times and have always been pleased. People, look at your vehicle before you drive off. If they've missed some spots, point it out. The few times I've needed to do that, they take care of it without hesitation. read more

I did not want the cleaning supplies on my seats because it needs a certain product, they still cleaned it with their supplies on my seats. When they did clean they still missed spots. Just wanted a wash, vacuum, and window clean. After the wash there were missed spots to clean next to the tire and my side mirrors where still dirty. Do not have photos of those but I asked one of the guys inside to clean it. Fair price but was not worth it. Got here at 7:55 and finished 10:15. Started cleaning my car 9:25. read more

So, I went over here based off of reading prior reviews. The problem with a car wash like this, is that there is no under carriage wash. Think about this in the winter time, it is imperative to get a good blast underneath your vehicle to keep it clean. These are just bays where the staff clean with power washers. There's no good way they are getting underneath your vehicle, as it is impossible. I took my pick up truck over there and they missed several spots because of the size, which I had to pay for which was extra, however they still missed areas on the center windshield and top of the vehicle. They had a great attitude, but they could not handle a proper clean. (Why is an 8 year old kid working on my vehicle?) It certainly was not cheap and there were two adults and one kid working to wash and dry. I ended up giving them each a tip, so the whole wash was $50 and when I got back to my house and looked, it was pretty good, but definitely not worth it that much. read more

Ive driven several times through Mid City Hand Wash, and what better time to put these guys to the test other than a busy sunny saturday morning after driving for days through the dried city salted streets of Chicago. First off the honk for service comes with a 15 minute wait outside the shop. For only 3 car washing bay. They manage to fit 8 full size cars. Which is great. The interior detailers did a great job cleaning out tiny areas. But definetly missed between the stitch of the seat. They sis a great job covering the car with shampoo. But ones dried there where plenty of apots with dried soao and in some areas where they foegot to scrub. Good thing i stooped outside to check their work. Lines are a bit long, expect to wait 30-60mins though they do their best to keep the lines rolling. Each person is assigned a specific job assignment to be time efficient. It's clear they know what they're doing. My car is impressively clean for only $20 with the premium-- cost does vary by type of car (I have a hatchback for reference if that helps). I brought my seven year old Prius to Mid City Hand Car Wash with my head hung in shame. Sure, I'd taken it through the deltasonic once or twice a year, but only one or two vaccuums. We both take public transportation to work, so the car is mostly for shopping, road trips, and hauling our boy and his cracker crumbs from toddlerhood to middle school and all the thousands of sports practices in between. Oh and our giant dog. The tipped over Crock-Pot of chili was the last straw. Our car was--according to the boys in the swimteam carpool-- "nasty." I found this place on Yelp. It had good reviews. I called first, mentioned "soup" and "gross" and the nice man told me to just come in. I pulled around back, they lifted the door, and told him I needed everything, shampoo everything. "Shampoo is expensive, you sure?" And I said yes, si, whatever it is I will pay, it's so gross. He pulled my car into a bay, and a team of four or five young men jumped in and got to work. Oh, this is going to be quick! I thought, which was far from true. After the initial vacuuming and mat removal, one young man literally washed and scrubbed every centimeter of my car for nearly two hours. I may have taken a little nap in the comfortable waiting room. In any case, I have never seen anyone work so hard to clean up after my disgusting awful family. When I finally saw the car, I literally cried because it was so clean and beautiful. I'm not going to name the price they charged because it was so low I think they should've charged me much more. I only had 20 cash to tip the young man who made my car new, but I am seriously thinking of returning to tip him him another twenty-- that's how happy I still am Everyone was very friendly, and the manager encouraged me not to wait so long before returning. Hands down the best place around, I never have to tell them to rewash anything or they missed a spot. Because I will! these dudes bust their ass as if it was their own cars. They all mess with each other and have fun which I love to see. Sitting area is more than enough space with a tv and a/c. They have vending machines too. Forget about how long they take if you didn't want you car clean you would be spending $3 on a quick wash, if you want you car shinning you're going to wait for the best result. I went to pay, and I realized I forgot my wallet at that moment. I was embarrassed and explained my error to the manager Raul. He was gracious and allowed me to leave and retrieve my wallet. Went into get my car detailed. I asked how much it would cost and I was given the price. I asked if they could detail my car or if I needed an appointment. it was about 2pm and I was told they could detail. The owner told me to have a seat and pulled my suv in. I was sitting for about 30 minutes when the owner came and told me I to come back the following day. No explanation why and he was very rude. Granted my car is dirty. However he examined the car and said he could get it done. Had he told me to come back the next day initially I would have done so. Instead he wasted my time. This place was a dream come true when my car really needed it. I was able to make a last minute appointment. Dropped my car off and worked at the dunking donuts next door. My car took a little longer than estimated which was fine because they were polite and considerate enough to keep me informed, as well as I knew how bad my car look. I went to this Hand wash yesterday. I asked the cashier multiple times to communicate with the staff that my car was Vinyl Wrapped on the Hood, Roof, all lights, certain accents, and those places needed to be handled with extra care. I also asked them to focus on cleaning my windows as they were very dirty. Attached are photos of things I'll have to resolve on my own due to a lack of communication within a company. Extending a straight 4 stars on my first time visit. It was a midweek midday interior exterior cleaning of a midsize four door sedan. Don't go if you are in a rush. They must take pride in their work, it clearly shows. I certainly got what I paid for on this basic no upgrade service. They suppressed my pet peeves; nice clean no streaked windows, thoroughly wiped down and vacuumed interior, non-neglected floor mats (I had the laser fit and standard ones underneath) air pressure and towel dried exterior and wheels prepared and dressed for the road. I rolled out of there shiny and happy that I left a nice tip for the guys. read more
