This whole dealership is VERY DISORGANIZED! Brought my car into service 2 weeks ago to get an oil change and to get some service recalls done. The service advisor Greg told me I had a few recalls and that parts would have to be ordered for 2 of them so they would call me back to schedule an appointment. I waited there for an oil change for 3 and a half hours!!! I sat in the waiting room and noticed the sign on the front door of their service door entrance stating oil changes are fast because they know customers have places to be. Greg happened to be walking through the waiting area and saw me after the 3rd hour and nonchalantly said "you're waiting on the oil change, right?" Which I told him yes and he said "I'll get someone right on it" which I then saw my car being pulled into the garage. There was another gentleman sitting in the waiting room who was there before I arrived and his car service was already done but no one in the service area told him. He sat there for over a half hour waiting after it was done and the only reason I know is because I saw the service tech park his car in the pickup area of the parking lot. Lastly I called the other day asking on the status of the parts for my car recall came in and was told by the service dept to check with the parts dept. they transfer me and the parts advisor tells me there was nothing on record that was ordered and that I could try talking to Greg who originally coordinated this. While I heard Greg call and put the request in the day I was there this whole experience is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!! Based on all the negative reviews of this dealership it seems mgmt or the owner doesn't care and that's sad considering Hyundai makes good cars but their dealership like this is terrible!!! read more

I have had three incidents with the 2018 Hyundai Sonata vehicle that demonstrated that it was a lemon.... *The first incident: The car would vibrate when I turned the wheel to the left or right, but mostly the left. The center console would vibrant and felt like something was grinding under my feet. It turns out the factory forgot to place a pin where it was needed on the axial. It was in the shop for one week. *The second incident: On the passenger side of the vehicle there was water coming in and it smelt like mold and the floor mats were soaked. I was told the vent above the hood of the car from outside was clogged from debris and something needed to be replaced. They wanted me to pay for the replacement because I parked under trees that caused the vent to clog and trapped water to run onto the passenger side of the interior mats. *The third incident: the engine light was blinking at 32,359 miles and the store manager insisted I come in with the BLINKING engine light. The vehicle would not go more than 5 mph and I refused to bring it in after attempting to drive it from my home to their auto parts department. I had a panic attack and had to be towed. They should have offered the towing services from the beginning since the vehicle was not suited for driving. I later found out that if i continued to drive like i was instructed the car could have ended up in a car fire. It turns out it needed another part repaired, mind you this car is only 2 years old. Mid- Island Hyundai did not care about my safety. The reason why I lease new cars is to avoid old car problems and to ensure my safety. All three incidents occurred in a three month span, i felt like my safety was not their priority, they made me feel silly as if i was overreacting. I dealt with Manager Steve and Service Associate Greg, they both were inconsiderate and unprofessional. Not only were they very deceptive with their financing and tried to rip us off with a quoted monthly price over $150.00 more then what we ended up paying. They also lied and said that the lease we were returning would be taken care of that this would get us out of the fees associated with it and in Ricks words " if I can't do it, no one can do it ". We'll Rick, you did it. You lied and told us we would be free of these fees and then we receive an invoice for the " wear and tear " so when you told us we'd be done with it and another employee said how he " needed a veloster on is lot that he hopes we trade it in " the financing company is informing us that we are responsible for these fees because after the fact they decided not to " buy out the lease " like they told us they would. Very Serious Issues here. My car was purchased in 2005 and I took very good care of it. There were strange noises and the brake light was on, it has trouble starting up when I get gas and there are gas and other fumes then and at other times. I thought maybe it was the emergency brake but I wasn't sure. I now know it was the brake light and this is serious because it means there is a leak. I dropped it off and they said it needed a purge valve and spark plugs. Some light bulbs were replaced. It also needed a new gas cap because it gets stuck constantly. I asked them to fix it a few times but they said nothing was wrong with it. This time he noticed it but it would cost $560- no thanks Still No diagnosis of the weird noises. I think she said he could not hear any noises and had driven it. It was Suggested I could come drive with him to figure this out. No mechanic ever needed to do this in the past. But the case manager said that they had put fluid in because the brake fluid was a little low. When I picked up inbetween repairs, the brake light was off. As I pulled out there was a large bang which sounded like something had fallen off the back of my car and the swirling noises started up again all the way home. I dropped off again and told them about all of this as well as about a loud exhaust noise the day before. They diagnosed leaks in the muffler and ordered some pipe. Still no assessment of the other noises. I went to pick up, paid and my car was not where the billing clerk said it would be. I searched for some one to help, and after asking three people at least I found someone who went to get my car. This has happened multiple times here. When he drove up I noticed a weird smell. As I pulled out my brakes failed almost completely, pedal to floor with almost no response but it stopped thank goodness. I pulled right back in and asked for help. The mechanic immediately starts being sarcastic and says: can I have the keys or are you going to hit me with them Eventually a manager comes over and defends the mechanic saying "he is their best" after I complained about his disgraceful behavior. They lifted my car and show me brake fluid leaking out of a rusty brakeline. I ask why didn't you find this etc. and tell me, and he says there is no way to know if it will blow out or leak. Really??? My brake light was on and you put fluid in. I have now read online that rusty brakelines should be replaced immediately to avoid a catastrophic failure. Yet no one even mentioned that all four were rusted, even with the other signs. They supposedly did a check of everything. Had I known I would have replaced them. Which is what I am doing now. It will cost $800-1000, they charged $86 for the one that blew out. I'm hoping there will be no more disasters when I pick up. This is gross incompetence and no one ever took reponsibility or asked if I was ok. Pretty stunning and I am very nervous to drive now. read more

When I went to purchase a used vehicle, the salesman didn't have a clue what he was doing. Incompetent is an understatement. He was ignorant of some significant financing details which had to be ironed out with their finance manager. When the car wouldn't start he assured me it was only because it had been sitting on the lot (it hadn't been there very long at all). The next day, the car would not start in my garage and I had to have it towed back to the dealer to replace the battery. I was promised a spare key, which never materialized. Scheduling service is a major ordeal. You will be transferred multiple times only to be put on hold. I have owned many vehicles and used many different dealerships. I can say with confidence that this is the very worst one I've had to deal with. By far. In fact, incompetence and indifference are the two unifying traits of this horrible place. read more

I've bought 3 cars from this dealership. I will never go back. The salespeople here are just interested in selling you a car no matter what. My last time here was for my daughter, I told the sales guy I had 5 grand to buy a used car. He said he didn't have anything on the lot but one of the guys was selling a car in the back. The car looked great, and I took it for a test drive. After he said I was buying it as is and no warranty but the car was in great shape. Maybe my fault right there I should have just walked out, but I didn't. After I bought the car, the next day the radio stopped working, and electrical issues. I brought car to my mechanic and dumped more money into it. After same issues over and over I finally just got rid of the car. The Service Manager followed me to my car escalating an uncomfortable situation. I finally had to say "Step away from me" and "Step back". This was the cultivation of an all around terrible service (with the exception of the service representative). 1. I responded to the recall notices and left a vm. It took 2 days for someone to call back. I was able to get a same day appointment which was "explained" to me that according to Hyundai, same day does not qualify as an appointment. On the phone we discussed the recall issue and the electrical problem with my car. 2. When I arrived, there was a line of cars without drivers and no Hyundai representative around. I proceeded to go inside the service office where I was told that I needed to check-in. I asked where? She said someone will be out there shortly. 3. While outside, someone standing by said he hasn't seen anyone move cars for at least 10 minutes. I waited until finally saw someone move the cars. I approached him and asked if he was responsible for check-in cars. He said no, he's just moving them and told me to go back inside the office for help. I told him that from inside, they told me to come back out. He suggested I go back inside the service office. So I did. 4. Inside the service office, the lady at the desk (in a tone as if speaking to a child) told me to go back outside. I informed her that I was just there again and was told to come back inside for assistance. She said I need to pull my car in. I told her I can't move my cars because there is another parked car blocking my entrance. She finally took a key and moved the car. 5. Finally with a check-in ticket I sat down with a different service representative who was very nice and courteous. I reiterated the recall and asked that I need my car checked regarding he electrical. I was told it should be done in 2 hours to fix the recall issue and diagnose the electrical. 6. 2 hours later and my car was not touched! the service manager came to tell me that because of the electrical diagnosing, a different technician need to be assigned so it couldn't be done. I was bothered because I gave this information from the beginning so that they could allocate the resources appropriately. I thought at least the recall issue was corrected. WRONG. NOTHING WAS DONE. I remained quiet with the service representative while I waited for the service manager to bring back my car key. I just wanted to leave. 7. As he returns my keys, I said that I found it to be inconsiderate given that I had provided all the information, no one had the decency to simply tell me that I should make a different appointment or that I would take much longer. Instead you wasted my time. The service manager said he understood. I accepted my key and walked to my car. 8. This man, Joseph Kaufman, Jr. Had the audacity to follow me to my car. In a cavalier manner he tells me that I didn't have an appointment. I did. He said it's not in the system and that I probably called today (As if I did something wrong). I told him that's not my problem and the average person considers this an appointment. I further said how did he have the audacity to follow me to my car to "school" me on the administrative activities. He smuggle said "explain". I finally said "STEP AWAY FROM ME" Twice! I'll try to make this short and sweet. Back in 2013 my son leased a Veloster from them with me as a co-signer. Several months before the lease was up, they repeatedly called him offering great deals on an early termination and going into a new lease. Three months before, he works out a deal with a salesman to go into a new Elantra. Thanks to never being late with the last car, he got the financing on his own. After a month we get a call from Hyundai finance that they didn't receive the final payments. We contacted the dealer and they assured us a check was being sent, a few months later and again the calls from HF and us getting the dealer to say a check would be sent. Last November I find that both he and I now have derogatory marks in our credit reports. We find out the supposed 6 late payments were due to excess mileage fees of $790, which my son was assured by the Salesman they were taking care of. I contacted the dealer after many attempts and was told they're under new management and will not honor the cost, despite the fact that all of my lease returns give me this as an incentive to re-lease with them. To avoid further black marks, we paid it and now am trying to clear our credit thanks to this oversight. We're finished with this dealer. read more

I am a happy owner of a Hyundai Sante-Fe. Went in last week to look into a lease for my daughter, since her vehicle was not worth repairing after a collision. Simple, right? No way! We test drove a brand new Tuscon. That's where it went downhill. The salesman just assumed we were buying it that night! He said "I misled him". LOL. Pissed off, we left. They were all nice and willing to do anything to get me into such a great vehicle....The salesman didn't listen to me, never told the finance people I had less than perfect credit because of a car accident and multiple surgeries. They played games with the numbers, I told them I was in the AARP buying program and lied how the programs pricing worked, and when the salesman Dave called me back, I was in the middle of telling him I might have my own financing, he hung up on me!!! If I could I'd give them no stars. I went to the dealership with my fiancé to get a new lease and return the old lease from a Honda dealership. Not only were we there all day to get a new lease from them, but when they offered to take the old lease and send it back to Honda no problem, that's when it became and even bigger headache. We received a letter in the mail stating the leased car had been sitting in the lot for two weeks and we got hit with a huge bill. So we went back to Hyundai to settle with them and the manager didn't want to speak to us (Chaz) so the dealers try to take care of it. Once again due to unprofessionalism we spent another day at Hyundai trying to situate things. I highly recommend not coming here. First off, I financed a car from there and a month later everything started going sound. Electrically wiring, engine needed to be replaced, lights are always going out and needing to be replaced, steering wheel and it's not due to an alignment. Terrible Service Department. I've learned my lesson to never bring my car back here again. I brought my car in as my Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Dashboard light was on. They charged me over $300, however a few days later the TPMS light would come on. This happened after each time I brought it back. I brought it in a total of 4 times to fix and each time the TPMS system light would come back on. They told me the problem was that I had satellite radio which was factory installed in the car, and the GPS light was the error. How ridiculous does that sound? So am I to think every Hyundai that uses GPS has the same issue? Each time was a different excuse. The final time I brought it back I asked them to replace the part, they didn't and said there was no problem. Obviously there is a problem if the light keeps coming on. It's a light that indicates there's an error. I think it's time to switch back to a GM car on my next go round. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING TO THIS DEALERSHIP I PROMISE I AM TRYING TO SAVE YOU!!! Ill start by tipping my hat to Lenae in Service. She is understanding when its comes to my problems with this dealership and her extremely high value gets extremely diminished because of them, but I digress... It all started when I leased a 2015 Hyundai Veloster Turbo in Nov. of '15. It was my first car lease and I went in and got into it for $269/month for 36 months. It is literally all down hill from here. Ill start with general customer service practices. Every time I have to call into the dealership it goes like this. I call and get, "Thank you for calling Mid Island Hyundai this is Jill speaking how can I help you?" I'm always asking for the service department (more on that later) so once I say "It's Hayden may I speak with someone in service?" She says ok hold on...I usually wait on hold for an average of two or three minutes, but this is where it gets interesting. Sometimes I get redirected back to Jill! So usually after three or four times speaking with Jill and her giving me the "Thank you for calling Mid Island Hyundai!..." thing every time I finally say, "Listen Jill, I just need to speak to a person in service, please." I'll eventually either get in touch with them after ten minutes of that marry-go-round OR sometimes Ill be on hold and I SWEAR it sounds like they are picking up the phone and hanging up on me (I have recorded a video of this instance if anyone wants to see!!). Every once in a while Jill will give up and "take a message" except I don't believe I have ever gotten a return phone call from them after leaving a message with Jill UNLESS it is time to pay for the service on my car of course. Lenae gets back to me if she is in that day, but the other people in service DO NOT. Like I said earlier, I have leased the '15 Hyundai Veloster Turbo. I am currently half way through the lease. I just got my car back from service today after a six day stint at Mid Island Hyundai. Why you might ask? I GOT A FLAT TIRE PEOPLE! But not only is it a flat tire, ITS MY SIXTH FLAT TIRE! (I thought it was the fifth flat, but Lenae promptly reminded me that it was the sixth one and she is right! Don't you hate when you forget how many flat tires you have gotten on one vehicle?!) In case you are lost, that is six flat tires in eighteen months... Now imagine my frustration when every time I call for an update on the car, I go through the long holding, four talks with Jill and then more holding with the single tone beeping sound, to either eventually get hung up on or talk to other people in service (WHO ARE NO GOOD) because Lenae is unavailable at the time (I dont blame her for that. Work is work, but I'm reluctant to leave a message with Jill or anyone to tell Lenae to get back to me so I've reverted to just calling and staying on hold until Lenae is available). Long story short, the service and whole team there is terrible (except Lenae). After expressing my extreme aggravation for this car and lease, I met with Will Arons and Rick (The sales manager that Will refers to as "the bulldog".) They tried to tell me that they would eat the payments on the Veloster AND cover all repairs and put me in a new 2017 Elantra with a package on it for $1,999 down and $379/month. At the time i knew that sounded like much and luckily im the type that does not make decisions on the fly like that. I looked up their internet pricing for that exact car. It advertised as $1,199 and $91/month. It was also advertised on their instagram for $67/month. As much as they insisted they we trying to help, they tried to shark me into another bad lease. No wonder the manager SHAZ there was "Willing to give me $1k off the offer" and told me "sometimes in life you have to make decisions" to try and get me to lease it on spot. All the time in life you dont have to make bad decisions!! HOPEFULLY OWNERSHIP GETS A HANDLE ON THIS DEALERSHIP AND HELPS ME GET OUT OF MY SITUATION! They also wouldnt let me get a copy of their proposal for the Elantra, but I got a picture of that too. TAKE MY WARNING AND DO NOT GO! And Pray for Me!! Its sad because Will really made me feel welcome and that he was trying to help and got to spend time knowing me personally. read more

Long story short this place is run by dishonest and lazy staff. I bought a car 1500-2000 above recommended kelly blue book value because I believed it was a good car. After some time, we noticed little things here and there about the car we weren't told about. One of the car charging ports did not work and there is a very annoying metal popping sound when I slow down the car. In addition to this mess, I was promised a second set of keys which I never received. After several months of giving me excuses that the key guy wasn't there, they hired someone else, they finally told us I'd have to pay a couple hundred for it. In disbelief, their excuse was that I don't have written documentation to show that this was part of the deal. I went to hyundai on 112 and bought a spare key from there for 40 dollars... I think I have nothing but praise for this young lady Lejune and her team especially General Sales Manager Mr. Shaz. I had a bad experience with the previous management of this dealership. I had decided that I would never get another Hyundai. This lady called me up a few months ago and I flatly refused. She was persistent without putting any pressure and convinced me to visit the showroom. I went in with no intention to buy the car. Lejune and her colleagues were really professional in all aspects. The team prepared and presented the best possible deal. At no point I felt pressured. Shaz himself got involved and made sure about it. It took no more than 45 mins for all formalities to be completed and our new Hyundai Tucson handed over to us. I have never experienced such a smooth and professional car sale transaction. Beware!!, Bait And Switch!!, Avoid the Used Car Salesmen!! Salesman Nigel Henrey and the manager Rob tried to bait and switch. Salesman quoted price, later recanted, Manager said he never gave that authority and the salesman played dumb. Old tricks, but wasted our time. This place is to the left of the big Hyundai building across McDonalds. The trailer where they sell pre owned vehicles. Do not enter if you value you re time. This place is run by NY Auto Giant, They have a really BAD REPUTAION when it comes to used cars, Don t believe me? Read for yourself? Google Atlantic Hyundai, Atlantic Nissan, etc, all the same company Atlantic/NY Auto Giant salesman are known to keep you for long periods of time, changing the offer, offering you less for trade ins, or charging you more for you re new purchases.
