Smithhaven Mazda is the the worst Dealership on the planet! When our lease was up we agreed to buy the vehicle. They didn't contact us to arrange an appointment. We continued to receive bills which were paid on time. All payments made through the 3 year lease were all on time. To my surprise,on this one particular morning at 3:30AM there was banging at my front door. Two individuals demanded the car key with a reposition bill.Unbelievable!! Not one employee in the Dealership could understand how this was possible for our car to be taken when all payments were current. We decided to buy the car . Noone ever called to let us know how to get our car back from the repo lot and Noone really cared! On a given day we personally went to Smithhaven Mazda and was assisted by Davis Schulman Finance Director . He contacted Toyota Finance who now handles the financing for Mazda;tell me this isn't a problem than I'll tell you you're wrong. We still haven't gotten the car back and have not received a call from the towing company. What I don't really understand is how no one ever called us to tell us where to pick up the car. As far as customer service, it's my opinion that there is none. Smithhaven Madza runs all the TV commercials about having such great deals; they should keep in mind it's CUSTOMER SERVICE that counts ....and take your BS commercials and put them where the sun don't shine! Be careful getting a car Smith Haven Mazda I went a couple of weeks ago to lease a car where I have leased from them before the salesperson stated the remaining payments would be taken care of he did not do his due diligence and find out the exact number of payments left on my lease he stated they would pay the one payment when there was actually 2 When I called the dealership they said there is nothing they can do therefore I am now paying for a car I no longer own . In addition this sales person when I called was rude and hung up on me . Just purchased my second used car from this dealership and once again the process was seamless and stress free. I purchased a used Toyota Highlander about 8 years ago and it still is a perfect car. I'm keeping it. But I wanted something new and sporty so started looking at Audis online. I knew what I wanted but there was no urgent need. Brought my 2020 Mazda CX-5 to the Smith Haven Mazda Service Department for transmission and electrical issues after the engine failed and was replaced only a couple of months earlier with just 48K miles. Smith Haven Mazda agreed to replace the defective transmission but claimed the electrical issue was just a drained battery, although two batteries had been replaced in just 4 years. As I was pulling out of the service area and stepped on the brakes, a jarring sound came from the front right wheel area. I thought initially it might be rust since the car was sitting in the shop for over two weeks, but the sound grew worse. I then called the service department twice before making an appointment to check what had now become a louder jolting noise when hitting the brakes. At this time, the service tire light also went on. I dropped the car off and they called me the next day and said the noise was related to the brakes needing replacement and that there was a nail in the passenger rear tire, which they plugged. Since the noise coming from the right front tire did not exist before bringing the car to them initially, I told them I would pick up the car and not to replace the brakes. I then dropped the car off with a local mechanic, who said the noise was due to a loose front right tire and had nothing to do with the brakes. After tightening the wheel, the jarring sound went away when applying the breaks. The local mechanic advised me to also change the wheel studs since they could have been damaged riding around on a loose wheel. I then called and spoke to the Smith Haven Mazda Service Manager Tyler Munro to inform him about his team's potentially dangerous mistake and asked him to replace the wheel studs. He refused even after I told him that he and Smith Haven Mazda would be liable if the car was involved in an accident due to damaged wheel studs. I suggested he call the mechanic that tightened the wheel to verify what I was telling him, but he never followed through and has not offered to replace the studs. The Smith Haven Mazda Service Department and its manager have proven to be unprofessional, irresponsible and unethical. By the way, my service tire light went on again yesterday, so plugging a tire is not their strength either. read more

I bought a car a few months ago. The sales process with Dennis Hoffer was a fine average experience. Where things took a turn was with the financing, Ryan Doheny oversold me on warranties, literally lying to me saying it was only 30 dollars a month when it was easily 3 times that even if taken over the length of the loan and not the warranty. After reading my paperwork I realized I had 30 days to cancel for a full refund and I wanted to start the process of cancelling the warranties. When I went back to the dealership it seemed like he became a completely different person, rude and aggressive. After several calls and emails to Ryan and Tyler Webber (used car manager) it was complete radio silence from them. Clearly trying to delay the cancellation past the 30 days. Luckily, I was able to cancel with the warranty companies directly after several weeks of no response from them. Additionally, the rate I was given wasn't very competitive, I was able to get 3 percent less with a different bank. I believe they give you a monthly price and then try to "fill" it in with warranties and higher rates, though this is speculation. If you choose to finance with them discuss only rates and total financed amount (this includes what you would pay in interest over the lifetime of the loan) In terms of the car, it runs well Mazda's are good, mechanic checked it out and said it was in great condition. It did have some damage to the fender liner on the drivers side that they seemed to cover up a bit. It came apart about a week into driving, but it is relatively cheap fix. Overall, this could have been a 5-star experience had it not been for the financing. I would say come in with your own financing and it'll be fine. read more

2 moths ago I brought my car in because my starter was failing. They told me it was nothing. Then again car wouldn't start. Kept my car for a week, called me and told me some gps device was draining my battery (a device I've never seen) it was the starter (they did not believe me) they gave me a new battery and told me that was the problem. 1 month later the problem returned. I am now 2k passed my warranty. They lied to me. And Now I have no choice but to buy a new starter on a lease i plan to return. read more

Ally, as she goes by was a pleasure to work with and really knew her stuff. She made the buying process extremely easy. It didn't take the usual multiple hours of haggling back-and-forth to get the deal done. She introduced us to David in finance who helped with all the financial paperwork and made that whole experience very easy as well. This is the most disingenuous car dealership I have worked with. I worked with several employees in sales and the finance team and they assured me of deals that apparently they could not hold up at the end of the day. Do not work with Steven in sales nor Ryan in finance. These two will lie directly to your face and then when it is brought back to them. They "never said" this or "never promised that". When they call you next time to trade in you lease early, please GO ANYWHERE ELSE. They did not cover the fees, which three people assured me they were, nor did they properly calculate the remaining months owed to cover the lease end. It took me calling them MONTHS later after getting a collection notice for them to plead the fifth. Horrible organization and i cannot wait to get far away from them or Mazda in general. read more

I wish you had negative numbers for this dealership because that's what they would get from me. Samantha had contacted me saying that they had the car I wanted in stock & would match any price. She also said they had great sales running this weekend. I told her I was coming from 30 miles away and asked her not to waste my time. I said all I wanted was that car with Vin# I provided for the lowest price I had documented with no dealer fees. She said, no problem. She set up appointment for 11am on a Sunday & told me to ask for her upon arrival. As soon as I got there, I asked for her. She was not there. The car was not there and even after telling the salesperson how I got screwed, the best they could offer is sticker price on the car. They wouldn't even give me a test drive because they had a good Idea I would not do business with liars. They made Zero attempt to make things right after Samantha blatantly lied on their behalf. The salesperson said it's the internet people that did this & they do it all the time. If that is true, why wouldn't you work to fix the problem? Samantha was wrong and obviously the dealership condones this behavior as long as she brings people into the dealership. I have no issue with dealers charging sticker or above sticker. I do have an issue with dealers lying to get you in the door especially when I was very clear that I did not want my time wasted I wouldn't buy a car from these liars if they offered me $2k off sticker. Went to the service department for an inspection. They took my car in time for the appointment and finished in a reasonable time. However they attempt to charge way too much for recommended services. An alternator belt replacement for $230. The belt from Mazda costs $50 and for a professional to change would take way under an hour. Assuming I'm paying a mechanic a labor rate of $100 an hour and give them the full hour to complete the job, thats $150. Mazda makes 35% on any services? No thanks. If they cared about customer safety they'd charge reasonable prices rather than having people decline services and drive with worn parts until they can get to a more fairly priced mechanic shop. I can't say enough about the great experience I had leasing my 2024 cx5 with this dealership. My salesman was Scott Harrison. He was very nice and really worked very hard to help me. I had a 2022 Mazda CX 30. I had a year to go and there were some dings and scrapes on the side. He was very honest and said he might not be able to get me out of the lease but he did. I had to put down around 3300$. And I pay 50$ more a month. I was very nervous to see the Finance Manager because of a horrible experience I had at Garden City Mazda! Who cheated me out of $7000!!!! I noticed My 2014 Mazda 3 screen on the dash had been developing cracks on cold winter days this past winter. Took to smithtown mazda so they could run a diagnostic and they return the car back to me much work worse than i had left it with them. Luckily i took before and after pictures but that doesnt help bc Mazda wont fix it.! They keep telling me it's because of the weather fluctuations. WHAT?!?! Ive never heard of such a thing. My daughter purchased her first car this past November 2017, a Mazda 3 from Smith Haven Mazda. The car is beautiful and perfect car for my her, she loves it. Although, she was having an issue with something vibrating in both front doors when the music playing. We brought the car in for service for the 2nd time in June 2018. This time we spoke with Matt Matuza, I believe he is a service manager. He was so kind and very helpful! They had the car for almost 1 week and I thought we were getting the round around, because they said they didn't hear the vibration noise. We forwarded Matt a video of the sound my daughter recorded.
