If I could give the man that helped us a million stars I would. We were driving on the interstate and got a nail in our tire. It was 5:50 and we checked with Walmart to see if they could help us. They closed at 6 and after the man checked our tire and saw there was a nail; he said they couldn't help us. Then we went to Belle Tire, they also closed at 6:00 and said they already turned their air off and they couldn't help us. Didn't even check the tire or anything. Then we went to Midas. The man was so nice and checked for local repair shops for us since they don't carry tires in stock. Then offered to put air in our tire. They also closed at 6:00 but stayed a few minutes late to help us out the best he could! read more

This is the type of place where they like to choose what work is to be done on your car whether it needs it or not and then charge exorbitant prices. Don't push that they only fix what needs fixed or the "manager" gets angry and beligerant. Instead, take $1100 and burn all but $350 and enjoy the warmth from the fire while anothrt place repairs your brakes for the $350. Comically bad. If only I could give zero stars... Do you want more damage to your vehicle post-repair? Want to pay for repairs, two, or even three times over? Need a manager to laugh in your face and tell you "you don't know everything" when trying to have a respectful conversation? Then this is the place for you!! Spent $420 on new front rotors and break pads only to have the rear break system worse off and damaged after violent shaking caused by the "repair". I was told "it doesn't work like that" when I mentioned that the vibration propagated to the rear and caused damage within 1 day, a day we were told to wait by the Midas technician to see if it "evens out". This was caused by a warped rotor that was placed on the vehicle at Midas. Little did he know, I'm a mechanical engineer with 10 years of experience and background in structural vibration...No I don't know everything, apparently Greg Williams at Midas does though. Enough to think this is a joke and brush me off to corporate. Now I am expected to pay out of pocket for the additional repairs that are now needed. read more

Ok so we got ahold of corporate and they told us to take the vehicle to the nearest Midas. Which was in Michigan City, Indiana. We take the vehicle there and it barely made it 10 miles after $700 in alleged repairs. The people at this Midas are not amused. They are owned by a different more reputable company. Immediately the technician noticed issues on the paperwork. Things not filled out that should have. No Paper estimate was given. Then after consulting with the Benton Harbor store noticed lots of mistakes on the paperwork. With things being mislabeled and such. There was even confusion to which coil Benton Harbor worked on because it had been mislabeled on the paperwork they gave us. They also noticed that the spark plugs that had been used by the Benton Harbor store were the wrong kind for the Envoy. The Midas in Michigan City told us the standard practice would be to replace all of them at once. And the estimate they gave us was close in price for what we paid. The Benton Harbor stores manager finally called us and told us they were going to have the vehicle towed back to their store and fix the issues. The two stores are about 50 miles apart. Even though the store promised us they take the vehicle the next day. We had to wait almost 3 days before they towed it. Then another couple of days before we got the same angry manager calling us back telling us they fixed the car right the first time. That the wrong spark plugs were used because that is all we could afford. They never provided a written estimate for what work would be done. They said it would cost $700 to fix it. My wife said fix it. No way a national brand would screw you over right? We show up to pick up the vehicle and it has a flat tire. They couldn't even be bothered to fill it with air. Then drove out of their shop with the tire flat. The tow truck driver said it was flat when they dropped it off. These people put in the least amount of effort to correct the issue. The vehicle also did not run. We had to have it towed back to our house from Midas. Add $200 for Tow around 50 miles. I have never been treated so badly by a company. We used that vehicle to take my elderly sick mother around during the winter for doctor appointments. I haven't updated sooner because we have been dealing with the snow that finally came. And still, my envoy sits in my driveway broken by Midas and I am out of pocket almost $1000 and still have to pay somebody else reputable to actually fix my envoy. NEVER GO TO MIDAS! read more

Brought my daughters car in that had been sitting for 6 months for complete brake inspection. Before it sat the front brakes and rotors were replaced by previous owner. Midas called me after the inspection and said all the brakes and rotors were shot. Rusted out. I knew they were not telling the truth and we're an unethical company. I asked how much? He said $860 plus tax. I asked how much were the parts , he said $560. I said I will call you back because they also did not know that I knew where they got there parts from. The parts store said Midas called to order your parts. I asked what their bill was he said, $163 out the door. So not only were they dishonest about the repairs actually needed, but they were going to add $400 to the parts. I called him back and told him I would be picking up my car due to his unethical practices and he had nothing to say because he got caught. Stay away or already go to a parts store and buy your own parts. Also stay around and watch your inspection and keep old parts. Midas Muffler in Benton Harbor is not an ethical shop. read more

I have a love/dislike (not hate) relationship with Midas. They have pretty good customer service and they are always able to get you in within a reasonable amount of time. The part I dislike, is that I question the quality of their work at times. They recently replaced the drive shaft on my car, with a used one. However, after driving the car home, something still wasn't right. I took the car back in and they looked at their work and realized that the new drive shaft they installed was very obviously dented. While I am grateful that they worked to find me the best deal on a part (+++), I'm disappointed that they didn't look the part over before hand to make sure it was in good condition (---). read more

Called Oct 26 about the buy 3 Cooper tires get the fourth one free sale going on at Midas until 10-31-2020 . Talked to Someone named Kyle about some tires for my 2000 tundra . He said he would have to look up the information and call me back . I waited until the afternoon of Oct 27 and I called him back . He stated that the tires I wanted Discoverer at3 4s were discontinued , plus the sale was over . I told him that we had never disgust any specific tire because that's what he needed to look up . Anyway it didn't matter because the sale was over . According to their website the sale is still going on to Oct 31. What kind of operation is this . wants to replace/fix things that don't need to be fixed. recent things done (which they didn't know), they suggested replace and/or fix. then did a job that turned out not to be the problem, then do another thing which wasn't the problem also. Then wanted to take apart part of the engine to fix the supposed actual problem..ya right. stopped at the second attempted fix and 2x the original quote. Said it was a little better when it was/is actually much much worse. Refuse to make right at this time. working on the issue read more

Took my car there to get my brakes done. They wound up doing a full inspection and found some other stuff, which was cool, but they charged me an arm and a leg for it all. Then, when I got my car back (two days later than they had told me to expect it), the speedometer was broken and they tried to convince me that it broke after I picked it up. Had to get it repaired at another Midas 2 hours away, like a week later. Then, my service engine light came on and my car started sputtering. Who performs a full service like that without performing whatever service was needed on the engine? read more

Wow terrible terrible. Took my car in to get breaks replaced, they had to re-order breaks like 3 times because supposedly they kept getting the wrong once. Then when they did get the breaks on it's clear that they used the cheapest stuff possible as the break drums immediately rusted. I mean it works so they knew how to put it on but the quality of components is terrible. And the "owner" (Neal) was telling me how great of a quality stuff they got.. blah blah.. but perhaps he was just over compensating for something he knew they messed up. DO not go here in the long run you will be better off going to either dealers or smaller shops. read more

I took my car in for a brake light so I could get it done quick. Since I was there I went ahead and did an oil change with their multi point check out. Afterwards they presented me with a list of needed repairs costing more than $4,000. I went by my regular mechanic at Miller Automotive and even without checking anything, just looking at the repairs they said were needed he said the price was extreme. Since some of the repairs might have been covered with the warranty I had on my car they suggested I check first with LeValley. At LeValley they checked out everything and the only possible issue was a $916 repair and they did not see that needing to be done for about a year down the road. Both LeValley & Miller Automotive had other vehicles in for the same thing, 2nd opinion on $4000+ estimates for repairs from Midas. read more

I took my husband's car in because there were obviously serious problems with it. It took them half day to fix all the problems, but the car is sounding and driving much better now. The people that were working there were very nice. They gave me the prices on everything before they fixed it, and also made sure I knew what to do in case certain problems popped up again that I would be able to fix myself. I was charged over $2,300 to have an engine installed into my 2006 Dodge magnum. Unfortunately, the mechanic called me notifying that my engine was defective. I clearly told him that it would be an uphill battle trying to get a replacement engine. The manager told me to come back in a couple of days so that the mechanic would have enough time to complete the engine installation. Therefore, I returned a few days later and had my car towed home. Approximately a month or so later, I had the vehicle towed to 72 Avenue Automotive and after their inspection I was shocked to see that the engine that Midas installed was just sitting in the car body. The motor was not bolted to the transmission, loose lines, and hoses, and the front wheel drive axles not connected. I filed a complaint with corporate and they talked with the store manager who lied and said that they left everything loose so it would be easier for them to replace the defective engine. Moreover, I was told to take the vehicle back and they will complete the installation. Therefore, after having another mechanic repair the defective engine I took the vehicle back to Midas so they could complete the installation. Unfortunately, after they completed the installation they called me and told me that my starter was no good. I asked the manager how was that possible when I just had a new starter installed two hours prior to dropping off my vehicle to them. Nevertheless, after notifying the manager about a myself possibly filing a law suit against them, he had the General manager call me, and he requested that I take the vehicle back to Midas again To have starter replaced. So I did, but after returning the starter it was tested by the manager and there was nothing wrong with it. Moreover, after picking up the vehicle the car drove approximately a half of block and lost power so I called Midas manager and told him what was going on, and he tells me that I need a new throttle body. I asked him how is that possible, because prior to them replacing my engine I was driving my car and had no issues with anything other than a loud knock in my original car engine. I thought it would be cheaper to replace it instead of rebuilding it. Moreover, while waiting for the flatbed to tow my vehicle I decided to check the fluids and found that the engine oil was two quarts low and the antifreeze container was low on fluid. I also noticed that my shifter panel cover was taken apart and left on my car seat with several bolts. "BEWARE" because it seems to me that because of the prejudice of their all white employees they did a poor job on my engine installation and they attempted to fraudulently receive more money from me by falsely claiming that I needed other mechanical work on my vehicle. I should have let someone else finish the engine installation because after I had the engine repaired it was running great, but after they changed the starter my vehicle has no power and won't idle. I believe that fraud and discrimination played a big factor in my cruel treatment. read more

I've gone twice for maintenance checks and oil changes, and the employees gave me genuine advice about what they thought I should do. As a woman, I am always leery of coming to auto shops. Not when I come here though. I used Midas before I moved here but I've never had the caliber of attentiveness as I experienced at this shop. I was met in the parking lot, taken out into the shop and shown what was wrong with my vehicle, not just told and expected to believe. And the initial price I was given was too much for my budget and the young women behind the counter was able to get the prices to where I could get done what I needed and still had a lil money left in the bank.
