I came here for an oil change and left with a great feeling about my car's integrity. The mechanics here are thorough and helpful. Not only did I get and oil change, but also a safety inspection with a link set to my phone that included pictures of all of the tests they did on my car. I have so much peace of mind now. My wife recently brought her car in because of a check engine light, they diagnosed that her spark plugs needed done, through during this they shoved her engine cover manifold up into her front windshield causing damage to the window which they have denied responsibility for, they also tacked on 600$ in an oil filter housing. I am sitting here staring at my receipt just absolutely baffled how anyone could ever think their money was well spent at this shop. I also received a quote from this shop to replace the front struts on my SUV. I threw up in my mouth a little when they wanted $ 2400. With $210 in parts and a good attitude, four hours later I had saved a total of $2190 by doing it myself. My girlfriend brought her Jeep here for a simple oil change and they forgot to reset the oil change indicator so she had a "change oil" light come on after 500 miles. I was informed that my car needed a new tie rod boot and therefore new tie rods when I brought it in for an oil change and would also need an alinement after the tie rods were installed, but they couldn't find the parts to do the work. I bought the tie rods myself and brought them in to be installed. When I did, I also asked about replacing my front struts, which were also recommended, and they quoted me a price, but didn't mention that it would also require an alinement (AGAIN). If I had known that, I would have had both repairs done at the same time instead of paying for an alignment twice. I believe this is misrepresentation by the company and should comp the second alignment if I allow them to install my struts. In the future I will be looking for a more reputable repair shop. read more

If you want to get ripped off and wait 2 hours for an oil change WITH an appointment, go here. I went because they had a promo for $25 off synthetic oil change, so instead of going to grease monkey like I usually do, I figured why not. I sat there for almost 2 hours for an oil change and cabin filter change. Why make an appointment? I've walked in places and have been in and out within an hour. Secondly, I was ripped off completely. I almost never let these places do anything else but an oil change but I knew I needed a new cabin filter and figured fine, it will save me some time so I'll pay a little more. I misunderstand the cost when it was explained to me. I thought it was my full bill with oil change. NOPE. $120 for parts and labor FOR AN AIR FILTER. Are you kidding me? I wrote customer service and still haven't heard back. I know these places always charge more than just buying one for $13 and doing it yourself but come on, man. Guess they saw a girl and decided to take advantage. I guess I should have clarified the cost but I genuinely thought that was for all services. Walked out paying $188 when i was just trying to save a few $ on an oil change. Guess I'll just not east this week! read more

They're the worst place you can possibly imagine. I went there and was told my water pump was broken. 1,600 dollars later I still had the same problem. Why? Because they didn't bother checking my thermostat, which they assumed my only problem was my water pump, which was replaced. Later on, my problem continued and I went back to midas and they explained my head gasket blew. I was told it was the water pump was faulty , which later caused my head gasket to blow and was not covered my warranty company because they failed to mention the thermostat. they didn't even bother to do all the steps to figure out why the car has problem;as if they went straight to the water-pump and were completely content with that and didn't bother doing any other checks. I like to think the laziness of the mechanics has lead to $2,000+ worth of damages to my vehicle. My temps tire gauge no longer work; come to find out my thermostat stat is stuck open. I replaced it, for $20. Why is this important? I could have saved over 2 grand if the employee, the managers and the company as a whole wasn't lazy. I'm sorry I trusted this company, I'm sorry if my image of a women has made this company think I am a fool, which I am for going to this "mechanic" shop. Moral of the story: don't go to midas. Figure it out, i'm sure you can do better than these people working there. read more

The service counter set me up with a Wednesday morning at 10:00am appointment. Brought my own Oil and Oil Filter. In and Out in 30 minutes. The waiting area is clean and organized. My best advice is to call ahead for an appointment. read more

Typical crooked mechanics. Be very wary about bringing your vehicle here. I had an appointment and it took 5 hours for them to change my oil and check my brakes. David, the manager, told me I needed a new part to fix the brakes, he said he was 100% sure. He called Ford right in front of me and told me the part was $110 and $15 or so for labor, probably a 10 minute fix to put the part in. When I showed up a few days later, he told me it was $220! We went back and forth for a while and he finally put in a discount. They put in the part and he told me to take it home and see if there were still issues. There were. The next day I called him and told him the part he was 100% sure about didn't work and I'd like my old part back and get a refund for this one from yesterday, he said no, no refunds. Not only is David a crook, Midas is. I won't be going back and wouldn't recommend anybody else to. read more

My wife's car is leaking oil so I made an appointment at this Midas location for them to check it out & fix it. The appointment was at 11:00 and I dropped the car off at 10:55 am. The guy behind the counter (H.A.?) said he would call me to let me know what's wrong with the car. At 4:30 pm I hadn't heard anything so I called the store to get an update. Only to find out that they forgot about the car!!! The guy apologized, said that he was by himself all day, and that he just simply forgot. Unbelievable. So after work somebody gave me a ride to the store, now it's 5:30 pm and still NOTHING was done. Then they looked at the car, couldn't locate the leak, put some dye in the transmission liquid and told me to bring it back in a few days so they could have another look. I left at 5:45 pm frustrated with no result, no answer, no solution, wasted a full day. They had the car for 6 1/2 hours and didn't even touch it. Incompetent and unreliable. On the way back from the post office my check guage light came on and the temperature guage was off the chart in the red. The truck was overheating. After calling AAA and getting towed to the closest AAA auto shop, I ended up at this Midas. In a nutshell, they found out that my transmission fluid was mixing with the coolant (not good). So here are the pros and cons of this shop, and my personal experience with it: Pros: -They brought me out to my truck to show me what was wrong and what they were going to do. I like when mechanics do that and don't also just brush me off because I'm a chick. -They worked really really hard to solve the problem, having to do many flushes of the transmission fluid and coolant to get all of the slime out and they only charged me for two flushes. -They gave me a military discount of 10% (and also offer a AAA discount of 5%) - Since this was our only vehicle, they sent someone out to pick us up and come get it. - They invited us back in two weeks to do one more flush, on them. Cons: - The only problem was we were told it would be an overnight thing and would likely be ready at 1pm the next day. With no groceries we were set to get the truck and get groceries. Unfortunately there was some miscommunication and they didn't call until around 4 to let me know it would stay another night. But honestly this was such a minor thing, especially since we found someone to take us to the store. So I would say, that's a pretty damn good experience. I haven't had the greatest experience with mechanics but I would recommend them. There were many signs along the way that there were transmission issues (jerky when switching into gear, not always getting into gear, making squeaking noises when getting into gear, etc) and I can feel the difference and can tell their hard work. It's smooth when shifting and I don't feel much of a jerk when it kicks into the next gear. Plus it's improved some other things. Since this truck pulls our house, as we live in an RV and travel full-time, this was huge to get this done. Even though it was $1900 we didn't want to pay, I think we were lucky it happened when it did and lucky to get that shop. read more

Took my car in for repairs, for over heating, they "fixed it" then after a week the car starts to over heat again. Hoping that they would fix it cause they didnt fix it the first time, he went on to saying that the leak was coming inside the engine. That to me, did not absolutely make no sense, the check engine light wasnt even on. They told me that it was gonna cost 200 plus to just check where the leak was cause he would have to remove a part of the engine off to find the leak (200 plus just to see if their guess was right). In the end one of the mechanics came forth and was honest, he told my wife he didnt know where the leak was and he wasn't to sure why the car kept heating up. These guys are just itching to charge customers for anything. My car is far worse now than when i took it in. I have no idea what they did to it, however, i will have to take it to another mechanic and see what foul play they did to my car. If you are not good friends with these guys dont take it in at that shop, or that particular midas. read more

If we could give zero stars, we would. Our experience with this particular location, which leads us to believe this is the general protocol for ALL Midas locations, was deplorable. They only serve to perpetuate the trepidation and mistrust that has plagued the auto repair industry. My husband took my car in for an oil change and tire rotation. Minutes before leaving, he marked one of the tires and changed the air filter. When the auto tech gave him the invoice, he recommended a new air filter (mine was literally 30 minutes old) and the marked tire was in the same position it was when my husband dropped it off. TWO bold-faced lies (that we know of). Suspecting there is likely more. We will NEVER return to this Midas, nor ANY Midas location ever again. And I will hop on my soapbox to anyone who will listen about the absolute lack of integrity and honesty that appears to be standard operating procedure for Midas. read more

You come in for something simple and they quote you outrageous prices, then tell you that more things are wrong with your car and you end up driving home with your car in WORSE condition than before you get to this ridiculous place. Trick people into payment plans so they can tack on any 'extra' fixes. Sadly that's how ya end up with a bill over $3000. Want to keep your car from falling apart? Terrible!!! Do not go here! I took my car in to have my brakes checked. They told me my back brake pads were grinding metal on metal and I needed new rotors too, quoted me 700.00. I said no thank you and went to get another opinion somewhere else. Turns out that my brake pads weren't even all the way worn yet and definitely didn't need new rotors. Midas tried to scam me!! Went in for oil change/tire rotation/fluid check with a coupon. Immediate upsell attempt I expected and am okay with. However, every time I get an oil change I replace the air filter and mark a tire prior to the appt. to check the business' honesty. These guys failed on both. The recommended an air filter replacement (it was literally replaced an hour prior) and did not rotate tires as promised. If they will lie about a $20.00 filter, how can they be trusted with anything else. Pass these guys up or feel the pain in your wallet read more

I went to Midas for the first time after the Jiffy Lube nearby told me they couldn't service my car because it was a VW. I was greeted by the nicest guy who told me that even though they were really busy, he would try to squeeze me in. They were super professional and observant--alerting me to the fact that my brights weren't working. I got out of there for less than I usually paid at Jiffy Lube, and the manager informed me that Midas actually pays their mechanics a reasonable wage, as opposed to the minimum wage Jiffy Lube mechanics get. The result is higher caliber service, he said, and I believe it. This is definitely my new home for car maintenance in the Springs. read more

I brought my 1996 Honda Accord in to have my power steering pump fixed. They looked at it, and found nothing wrong with it. What they did find was that I needed a water pump, timing belt, and my front end steering fixed. So they suggested I get the water pump and timing belt fixed because if that went I would need a new engine if it got too hot. I had to leave it there until Monday because my car does not play well with others. Needless to say, my car got fixed thanks to all of the people who were involved. After being a return customer of the franchise, I decided NEVER AGAIN. Being a woman and having the wool pulled over my eyes and spun the biggest BS stories as to why I needed unnecessary parts, is not what integrity is about, it's just plain dishonest overselling. Who reads the paperwork? I do!! After reading their paperwork and questioning items listed, the BS started. The stuff was supposed to be under a lifetime warranty, but they found an excuse not to honor their word. Oh! no... that's sloppy work and complete lack of integrity on behalf of AJ. And to boot, they lack total respect for their customer's time. Taking five hours to replace both front rotors and brake pads with new ones? That's ridiculous! And I waited for the job to be completed. I have made a formal complaint to corporate. This was the worst experience with mechanics I have encountered at: 1410 South Nevada Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906 Nothing about my transaction at this Midas branch was done ethically, which upset me enormously and showed the lack of character of the employees. Ten days after new everything was installed, my brakes started to squeak badly. When I returned to have the squeak removed, do you know what Jim told me? "Drive for 500 to 1000 miles to allow the rotor and brake pads to meld into one another." Really? How disappointing. I had a great experience at this store. I had an exhaust leak repaired. And that repair has been satisfactory, no leaks or noises since the repair. I also had an oil leak repaired that was causing a misfire in the number one cylinder of my 2001 Subaru Outback. About a week after the repair the check engine light came on again for the oil leak causing a misfire in the number one cylinder. I took the car back in, and they were happy to do warranty work to repair the car and make it right. I would definitely go back to this Midas for service. They also changed my oil and rotated and balanced my tires. Although I have left Colorado Springs and move to Loveland Colorado, this Midas is on my favorite list in case I need auto repair when I'm in Colorado Springs. read more
