Wonderful people!! Great quality service, asked for them to fix a popped tire and got on it right away!

From the two times I have been here I have been extremely disappointed. I came by in December for a routine oil change and they told me I had a leak in my oil pan. About two weeks later I did my own oil change to fix the leak in my oil pan and it took about 8 hours and tons of brute force to get the oil filter off -- they clearly used a machine to screw on the oil filter when they claim to only hand-screw on the filters. this can be potentially damaging to your car. They also broke my glove compartment when doing an inspection and said I needed a cabin filter change but when I went to check the cabin filter, it was gone. They must have thrown it away or not returned it to the proper location. I called and complained and the manager said that "the guys must have been eating too many beanie weenies that day" and added a complimentary oil change to my account after that. I went in yesterday to give them another chance and get my oil changed again and the paperwork I got back had the incorrect mileage on the paperwork and sticker for my oil change. Overall I'm extremely disappointed in this Midas location as it seems that all the employees are operating on one brain cell. I will not be returning. read more

Terrible, I came in for a simple tire patch. I was told they can't do it. I told them "that's no problem, leave everything as is." I asked them specifically, before they even got the keys... if they can't do it cool, but do NOT change the air pressure on the other tires or make any changes. Of course when i got my car back they did the exact opposite and changed the PSI in every tire on the ground to the max. At max psi the truck rides too rough. Not to mention when i got my truck back it smelled like weed!!! Im not a smoker so it was SUPER strong. So now Im stuck with a rough riding truck that stinks smh. read more

Myself , they pulled out my engine air filter and cabin air filter and sent me a picture saying they needed replacement! This is the second time in two years I've gone here for a routine oil change, picked my car up, and the battery is completely dead and won't start. Once is a coincidence. Twice is a pattern. When my husband brings my car (because I've refused to go back) there's no issues but when I take it I always leave with more issues. I'd like to start by saying I've used Nutall all my life for all kinds of different cars and services. On 12/3/24 I reached out through the website looking for a quote on replacing 2 CV axles, tie rods, and ball joints. I informed them I was not able to bring the car in until 12/16/24 and I really just wanted a ballpark price (which I was never given). When the 16'th rolled around I brought my car in at 8am sharp for them to do an inspection and they told me they had lost the quote, which I really didn't think was a red flag until now. Around 4:00 PM I called wondering what was going on because there's no way it takes 8 hours to do an inspection on the front suspension. After about 10 minutes on hold I'm told they hung the keys up in the wrong place and my car was forgotten about. I'm not a very angry person so I let this go. They told me they would give me the inspection for free to make up for their mistake which I thought was fair. The next day I get a phone call letting me know that I need CV Axles, sway bar end links, and 4 struts all the way around the car. I was told the clunking I was hearing from the engine bay was caused by one of the rear struts (reading this back now I am almost embarrassed that I let them continue). I was very insistent that the clunking noise was coming from the front of the car but they were very sure that just slapping some struts on would fix the issue. So let's recap for a moment: I brought the car in 13 days after my initial quote request - they lost the quote - they forgot about the car for the entire first day it was there - they inspect the car and assure me that the parts I've requested (ball joints and tie rods) are not necessary but I need struts instead. I allowed them to do the work that they suggested. What I didn't know was that it would take 5 more business days for the struts/associated parts to arrive. In total I was bumming rides and buying ubers to work for 11 days. I understand being my car is from the late 90's it's a little hard to get good parts, but honestly I could've gone to an auto parts store and had all the parts the same day. Here's the kicker though, I've now paid $2,300 AND THE CAR IS STILL BROKEN. It STILL needs ball joints. The tie rods don't need to be replaced yet but the ball joints are SHOT. It sounds like the subframe is about to fall out of the car when I go over mild bumps in the road. Like I said before, I've come here for service all my life and have never had issues like this. I will NEVER let these people have my car again. I mean, they charged me for 3 hours to do JUST the front struts. I'm no mechanic, and I definitely do not have the correct tools, but if it takes ME 30 minutes a corner with HAND TOOLS, I just cant understand how it would take a shop 1.5 hours for each. Nutall has left me feeling like a Nutcase. A word to the wise: if they forget about you, you should forget about them. read more

I have never done business like this I went in to do tire rotation and asked if I could get a diagnostic check because my vehicle was not running properly and I took them 4 1/2 hrs just to do a tire rotation and they never did a diagnostic check and the guy seem to not care about you or the business he was doing. read more

Nice place! I am in Columbia for my husband's surgery. Our car tires we're going flat, so I took it here. They had a nice waiting area, clean bathrooms (which smelled good!), and a coffee/snack bar. It took more than 2 hours to get the tires fixed, because they had so much business. But it is worth it to know that my tires won't go flat on the way home. read more

Perhaps the nicest, quickest service I'll ever get with car services. Their employees are so kind and professional, and they genuinely want to you to know what's wrong with your car to help (which is rare with other places). I initially came in with a small hole in my tire and they fixed that up free of charge; tire repairs are free. I then needed to get two new tires and I was out in less than 30 minutes--granted, I did come right when they opened, but it was still insanely fast. They told me they couldnt balance a tire on a rim because it was too worn, have to buy new tires nothing we can do for you. When I walked in I won't lie I was pretty nervous. Having to get any car work done can be overwhelming especially for someone like me who knows I could easily be taken at a car place seeing as I have no clue about cars. I needed four new tires and not only did they help me figure out what would be the best bang for my buck, they didn't try to up charge me and all that, but they were able to get me in and out in less than 2 hours! The people were friendly but the service was incompetent. If you drive a hooptie or family sedan with steel wheels that you don't mind getting damaged, then you may be able to get satisfaction here, but if you have any kind of special wheels, then run, don't walk away from this shop as fast as you can. In summary: 1. Did not call back to come get tires as promised 2. Delivered flat tire 3. Badly scratched one alloy wheel which they offered to repair 4. Delivered unbalanced wheels One bad outcome could be chance, two is a pattern, three is a trend, four is a disaster. The shake was 100% resolved when I let someone else balance the tires. I also had the wheel scratches repaired by someone else. I will never go near this shop again. Hopefully your luck will be better. read more

It's difficult to find an automotive repair shop with experts that stand behind their work and charge reasonable rates these days. I brought my classic Super Beetle in for an alignment and some front end work. They had to order the parts, which was not a surprise given the fact I have a vintage car. Jeremy did quite a bit of research to not only find the right parts, but to find reasonably priced ones. The crew was friendly, professional, and brought me out to the bay to show me the work. The tech discovered an improperly connected part unrelated to the specific repair that could've been dangerous and pointed it out. He corrected the issue at no charge and thoroughly explained each part he was repairing and replacing and how it worked. (The old Beetle's front end is quirky and unlike anything most people drive.) They didn't try to oversell nor promote work that wasn't necessary. They even recommended a local mechanic who specializes in vintage VWs (hard to find here) and they performed the work in a timely manner. I will definitely use them for my vehicles again! read more

I have been going here since 2015 and I rarely ever go anywhere else. In 2015 I had an older car that started developing suspension issues. I took it to them and they looked the car over at no charge to me, and they were very open and honest about what the car needed as well as the cost. The service manager, Keith, even told me he would not be able to work on the car in good conscience since the cost of repairs was over double what the car was worth. He was willing to do the repairs, but he did not hesitate to let me know the car was not worth the repairs and I would be much better off getting a new car. He even offered me referrals to local dealerships who could help me out. I had a similar situation last year where I took a car to them that was having major problems. Keith was extremely honest and told me they could not do the repairs because it would have to be repaired at the dealership. With his help I ended up deciding to trade that car in for something newer. Recently, they have been working on my new car to get some warranty repairs handled. Each time Keith has kept me completely informed from the beginning to end. Their openness and honesty about each situation I have encountered has made me a permanent customer for as long as I live in Columbia. read more

I have a 52 Ford F1 and needed a spare tire for it. Jeremy @ Nuttall was an immense help. First, he helped me find a rim by directing me to different junk yards. Once I found one, he was able to find a used tire to put on the rim. They checked my rim, mounted the tire and balanced it for me. Since it was for a spare, Jeremy took a used tire that had enough tread on them and gave it to me at NO CHARGE! We have three automobiles - when we need tires for any of them, there is only one place we will go from now on. Nuttall Tire. most of these reviews are only telling half the truth they are good for oil changes and ok for tires not better then tire kings obviously but for other mechanic needs they will try and tax/upcharge I brought my car in for a simple steering control angle replacement not only did they take over 5 hours to "diagnose my car" they eventually told me that there was a problem with my shocks and struts which would have been 1300$ to fix saying even then that they didn't know if that was the problem so obviously I took it to someone else because as a mechanic I think I'd know my way around my own car and would know that was a crazy ask who told me the problem I already knew was happening and only charged my 475 for the fix and whats so crazy is only the dealership could do itI didn't even know that so ig they didn't either I wouldn't go here again I see they reply to most of there bad reviews welp i would love me a good ol explanation y'all tried to bs n these other people tell the truth they went down hill and are for sure up charging people explain that read more

I have been dealing with Nuttall for about 8 years for tires. Then, I noticed a weird noise when I tried to start my car and realized it could be my battery which was getting old. So, off to Nuttall. They tested the old battery and determined that I was right. Within about an hour, I had a new battery and the slow ignition was no more. I highly respect this business, not as a customer but as a person who is aware how they treat their employees. This is very important to me. I will not go to another tire/battery shop. read more

Nuttall Tire is possibly one of the worst shops in Columbia, SC. On both occasions that I went to Nuttall's to get my tires changed, the employers not only lied directly to my face but took advantage and corned me into paying more than they originally said. DO NOT GO HERE!!! They will tell you one cost then charge you hundreds of dollars more. Also, it took them over 1.5 hours to change a single tire. A joke of an establishment. read more

I scheduled an appointment to have my alignment done. The Mechanic informed me that he was unable to do my alignment due mechanical issues that needed to be done first. My issue was that no one upon checking in my vehicle disclosed that if the alignment can't be done regardless if I declined getting other repairs done first for my vehicle that I would still be charge for a diagnostic test/recommendations. As a business owner myself I make it my duty to provide a disclaimer for any of my products. I truly feel they got over on me. Policies and how a business operates should always be explained to customers especially new ones so that issues like this can be avoided. I would not do business with them nor recommend this business to ANYONE. I am truly disappointed. read more

This is definitely a 5 star place, family run, totally honest, and prices are very reasonable. More important they do great work, and have great brands. On another rating site, they have 451 comments, and still have 5 stars. Not surprising. They are that good. You have to overlook the fact that it doesn't look as professional as it is. In an old building and so on, but the proof is in my satisfaction - and I am very choosy on auto repairs and tires. I am satisfied. They have added auto repairs and oil changes, again reasonable prices and top notch work, done fast. They get correct parts and do good road testing of their work where useful and appropriate. I would say they are definitely cheaper than car dealer shops, and the work is as good, or better. I trust them. Also, try nitrogen fill on your tires, it is inexpensive and makes a big difference in my opinion. They put green caps on the fill piece so they and others know the tires have nitrogen in them, not plain air. Nitrogen has larger molecules, and thus leaks out less, tires hold pressure year round. They don't heat up as much when driving either, and the tires now grip the road properly. In my old Camry the nitrogen made a big difference I could tell immediately after I picked the car up. Before I got home, I was sold on using nitrogen vs. air. read more

I was really disappointed in Nuttal, especially given the fact all I have been through this year with my health which Jeremy, the male I was working with knew. I wanted to like them because I was told " don't worry about a thing, we'll take care of you" however he quoted me $250 more than another company for just for the tires alone! I had to ask several times what the exact model number was... I guess he didn't want to give me in hindsight because then I would know exactly how much they actually cost. When I told him how much the other company quoted me he suddenly offered hundreds of dollars lower but at that point he had lost my trust because why not just offer that to me in the beginning especially knowing how much money I had to come up with for major surgery! I also needed new rotors, brakes and one caliper but he tried to sell me two calipers and the quote he gave me for the standard parts was hundreds of dollars more than the slotted and drilled zinc covered rotors and ceramic brakes I purchased elsewhere. I had someone who is very knowledgeable in the automotive field call Nuttal and question what he recommended when she was told they wanted to replace the other caliper "just in case it went bad" which he felt would happen in the near future when I was informed is not usually the case...it's one or the other. To make matters worse I was being pressured into making a decision and even told that I wouldn't be able to leave with my car the way it was when the mechanic told me otherwise. Jeremy knew I had just spent thousands of dollars on major surgery yet STILL tried to screw me over and when I politely asked questions about my vehicle he stood up from where we were sitting, walked past a few of his employees and muttered some comments under his breath as they smirked...that was the final straw for me. These people may play Christian music and claim to be honest and "get you a good deal" but they are in the business to make money...and a lot of it considering I saved almost $750 by getting everything done elsewhere! Just had a great experience here. On Saturday evening I discovered I had a flat tire. On Monday morning before work, I found out I had another. When I arrived at Nuttall they were filled with people and cars. Even so, they were able to get me in and out with both tires fixed in less than a hour. I've been taking my vehicles here for several years. I'm always pleased with the customer service, which includes staff's honesty as well as their conversation style. I know about cars; I've worked on them myself over the years. Some things I can't do myself though. Being a woman, I've received absolutely crappy service from other shops from men who assumed I didn't know anything about cars. Of course they would change their tune when I called them on their lies. All that trouble just doesn't happen at Nuttalls. They speak to each customer one-on-one. They explain the services recommended. I appreciate that they never try to "get over on" anyone. I also appreciate that they "go easy" on you sometimes. Sometimes there's no charge for the service. Bought 4 tires from them a 3 months ago and car is very low to the ground and sensitive, so tires were shaking and thought I was out of alignment. Bought a few set of tires here 10 plus years ago and was pleasantly surprised by the quality work they did then installing our tires. Returned again yesterday for another new set and was equally as pleased with their quality and quick service. Great tires and excellent customer service working with Joey. There's not to many tire businesses I've ever heard where you get such great service in as short a period of time.
