I highly recommend this shop. I came in for an estimate to replace my muffler system. I hit a rock and it damaged from the secondary catalytic converter to the tail pipe. I expected it to be a lengthy process. Edgar got my SUV up on the rack and told me the cost I said let's do it. I was out of there in less than an hour. Its hard to find service like that. Brought car here because i could get a quick brake inspection. John drove my car and said "since nothing was squeaking today bring it back when it was squeaking again." I said it was squeaking for the past two days and just stopped. He said brakes seem fine. He didn't look at them or have them inspected because he said it's not the brakes. I went and got a car wash and it was squeaking. Went back he said it's the front brake pads and rotors. He was rude and nasty when I asked him for any discounts. I should get a better discount than $25 since i wasted the first hour having to prove to him that my brakes were bad. Do your job AHOLE and inspect the brakes when someone tells you their brakes have been squeaking. My time is valuable too. read more

After going to the NTB on Cicero in Crestwood and being fed a huge line of BS, I wondered why I even went there when Midas had been so good to me. This is now the only place I take my car. I've been there several times, and they are very trustworthy. Number one, they don't steal! Whenever taking my car somewhere, I put 2 dollars in change in the ashtray, usually some of it is missing, generally the exact amount required to buy a pop out of the machine in the waiting room. Not here. Not one penny was missing. (If they'll steal from your ashtray, imagine what they'll make up on your bill). They also have wifi, coffee that's drinkable, and even hot tea. The guy behind the counter will treat you like family, and have a friendly chat, he's great! Now, I needed a wheel bearing replaced before I had to drive for 10 hours. I needed it done by 10:00 the next morning. They were closing, but said to leave they keys and they'd have it done. Not only did they replace it at a lower cost than most places, they also resurfaced my rotors at NO COST! And boy, did they need it! My brother is a mechanic, so this next part he told me about. As happens when replacing wheel bearings, the wheel speed sensor was damaged and needed to be replaced. They told me that it was their fault, apologized profusely for it, and replaced it without charging me for parts or labor. They were straight with me. That is what should be done, but most places will tell you the wheel speed sensor was bad too and that it needs to be replaced, and charge you for it. A good, honest mechanic is nearly impossible to find. Thank you Midas! read more

My family and I have been bringing our vehicles here for many years (even since I started driving over 20 years ago) and have nothing but good things to say about them. There have been times they could have easily said we needed more work done to get more money out of us, but we have come to see how honest they really are. They work fast and there have been many instances where they call me with an estimate and I'm shocked at how low the prices are. The people there have always been very nice, friendly, and helpful. I got an oil change a few months ago, and my oil light started to come on. I found out they gave me bad oil (my car takes synthetic) and it barely got me 3,000 miles. I took it to a TRUSTED mechanic, so this place has lost my business. It's not the first Midas I've taken a car to that's done this. This could of messed up my transmission, but I doubt they care about anything besides making money off females whom they assume don't know crap about cars. read more

Mancari's tells me something is wrong with my vehicle. I go to mancari's tri-monthly for free oil changes and every 3 months they tell me something is wrong and I gotta get it fixed. Received a reminder notice from John at Midas which was perfect as I needed to make an appointment for an oil change. John cheerfully took the call and we made an appointment for the next day at my convenience. I scheduled it for following a doctor's appointment. I called to tell him I was running late. When I arrived for the appointment, I was 20 minutes late. John still greeted me with a smile and a don't worry about it attitude, which I was thankful for. My car was immediately taken in and the oil was changed and my brakes were checked in less than an hour. John reviewed everything with me, gave me a copy of the bill, and just kept smiling. They respect that I know my car and never push a service on me, needed or otherwise. Service is always fast. I recently visited this location on an early morning. The staff greeted me upon entering. I immediately noticed a handwritten sign that read they would be closing at 11 a.m. to attend a car show of some sort. I asked was the sign valid for the day and the employee behind the desk said yes. I told him I was there for a brake inspection due to BRAKE light on. They promptly took my car in to inspect and came back just as fast to tell me the bad news... "it's your ABS pump, I can show you if you want." I was escorted to my vehicle where it was suspended in the air. The mechanic pointed to what he called the ABS pump and said "it's broken" and needs to be replaced. The second employee who was originally at the front desk arrived next to add dramatic effect. He said that the ABS is an expensive fix. I asked how do you know it's broken. The mechanics response was "because it's wet." Reluctant to believe what he said, I clarified. "So you say it's broke because it's wet?" Long story short, Midas quoted me $1117 dollars- $853 for the ABS pump that "can only be ordered from the dealer and it's a pretty popular problem because they have four available"...along with 2.5 hours of labor! I left and went to Pep Boys the next day for a second opinion (Pep Boys was my first option initially, but they had a long wait time). PB bled my brakes free of charge and the brake light hasn't come on since. ABS light still has NEVER come on! I would never patronize Midas again. They failed to properly assess, diagnose, and rule out other issues or they are just totally untrustworthy and looking to scam the next gullible customer that walks in! read more

I called this place before purchasing a groupon for an oil change to ask a questions, as I usually do before doing things because I like to plan things and get full information to avoid mistakes. I asked how long it would take for an oil change if I got a groupon. The person that answered the phone told me it would take about 30 minutes 'right now'. I verified the locations' address before I hung up and headed that way. On my way there I purchased the Groupon based on the information I had received. When I got there, I informed the guy behind the counter I was there with a Groupon for an oil change. He casually mentioned the wait time would be about 30 mins-1 hr, and left to get someone to process my payment/request. A few minutes later, the another guy comes in and tells me right away that the earliest he can get me in would be about 2pm, which was 5 hours from the time it was then (9am). I informed him how I had inquired about it before I made my Groupon purchase and he went on to tell me that could have been another location I called. I showed him my call log to show him their phone number on it; he still insisted it was somehow a mistake on my end. He did nothing to apologize for the misinformation, instead rushed me out the door suggesting I go to another location. I have no doubt that they may have been booked for hours at the time I got there, but my issue is with the way this was handled. I was blamed for their misinformation and they took no accountability for it. I had to spend an hour on the phone to get a refund with the third party, which I never would have purchased had I not gotten that information. Up until this I had only heard good things about Midas. Sucks I couldn't be another satisfied customer story on here. read more

February 2018, I took my car to Midas in Crestwood, IL, after seeing Midas advertise a$19.99 oil change and tire rotation on TV. My car ran good and I didn't have any issues that I was aware of. The mechanic name Troy, started my car and drove it into their garage. I saw him raise my car to change the oil and rotate the tires. He told the manager Rob. To tell me that my front tire air pressure stem, sensor was damaged and that my tire would not hold air. He told me it cost $139.00 to replace. I told him the tire had air in it when Troy drove it into the garage, that if air seeks out it's because he must have damaged it. Thats it, he didnt say anything else was wrong with my car. Troy was finishing my oil change. He drove my car out the garage, I paid and drove off. I got blocks away, as I began hearing loud noise like a screw, bolt was banging around in, around my engine. I called to report this to Rob. The district manager John called me after I complained to corporate. He defends that his mechanic didn't drop something into the oil cap opening during the oil change. I disagree. They told me to bring my car back for them to look at it, but I can't trust them after this. People beware, that $19.99, service is to good to be true. As it turned out, they wanted more than $19.99, by causing damage to my car's motor. They are dishonest, untrustworthy mechanics who take advantage of women. Stay away from that Midas. read more

I only bring my car over to John at this MIdas. They are always honest and give you options. When I wanted new tires John told me where to go because he couldn't give me as good of a price and he trusted the other company, and we got an extra discount because we were John's customers. We took our car here for a premium oil change. I specifically asked them to make sure they check the tire pressure since our warning light was on. After we picked it up we noticed the light was still on. Thought it would go away within a couple miles or so. The light is still on and after checking our tires they never filled them. I never take my car anywhere but Midas in Crestwood. I've been a regular customer for 3 years. John and all the guys at Midas are great. When they change my oil, John will show me the filters that need changing and also filters that are looking good for now. There have definitely been times when there was nothing else needed and, unlike other chain oil change places, the staff at Midas has never steered me into buying anything I didn't need. I'm taking my children across country on vacation this summer so I brought my car in early this morning and asked John to give it the once over. John called me at work and laid out the work that needed to be done. He told me right out that if I couldn't afford to do the work plus the tune up I was asking for, he thought I should wait on the tune up but not the other things because they were safety issues in the undercarriage of the car. I have a lot of trust in John and in Troy and the rest of the guys. I told him to go ahead and do the work.
