Had a tire rotation done and they didn't put my hub caps back on. Called them and they couldn't find them. Would never go back.

To whomever it concerns, Midas, thanks for telling me I need shock absorbers and saying they are leaking oil. That must be a common thing you tell all your customers. In reading your reviews, I saw you told that to several people. The one lady has already had her shocks replaced, and you still told her she needed them replaced. How so? You told me mine was leaking and needed to be replaced for almost $600.00. I got a second opinion this morning instead by a certified mechanic and was told my car handles well and my shock absorbers were still good for a bunch of miles and don't need to be replaced anytime soon. How deceptive you are. You can't pull wool over my eyes, and I won't be back, and I would not recommend you to anyone for auto service. We took our vehicle to this location in November because they were able to get us in on a Saturday. The complaint I had is that the heat was not working when the vehicle was not in motion. $550 later, and the problem was not fixed! The owner has not tried to make it right. We had been told the thermometer was stuck open and we had leaks in radiator hoses. It never heated any better after they replaced those parts. When we called to complained he acted like we were lying. I will stick to my regular mechanic from now on. My hubby added antifreeze and that seems to have helped more than the $550 we got ripped off at Midas. This place would get zero stars if I could register that. So I don't usually leave reviews, let alone bad ones but I feel like I was let down by this Midas location. I was in the process of buying a car and took it to them to check it out. There marked down that everything in green except that it had a leak causing a fire hazard. I bought the car and got the leak fixed. I eventually took it to CarX to get a second opinion and they told me that I need 3 new tires, new wheel bearings, and that I need new struts and shocks. I also took it to Aamco and they're telling me that I still have a leak. I'm so upset because I'm moving to California and planned on driving this car there and they told me that it was good to go. I originally went to Midas because I heard good things and trusted that they knew what they were doing and would be honest with me. I feel let down and will be telling people not to go to this location. read more

I had a unique situation and they were able to adapt and find the best solution for me! Just took my Cad in do to A/C not working and oil/fluid leak and to check for anything else that might need fixing. They found several things and was please they did, they fixed them and did a great job doing so. Very please with Steve and his team good people and mechanics. Been going there a while now and always had great service on all my vehicles. Some of the problems I have had were not so easy to find they were intermittent and that is tough but they found them and fixed them. read more

In Des Moines from out of town and water pump gave out and they were able to slide me in their busy Saturday sched. Had me in and out quickly, and got me financed through Easypay, and explained with all clarity that Easypay has a rip-off interest rate and to pay it off as quickly as humanly possible. I have been using Midas as I travel a lot, and this is one of the better shops I have been to. read more

Would not recommend this location. Took our Kia in because the TPMS light was on. Spent a good amount of money to have the sensors replaced,only to have the light come back the next day. Called and told them the light had come back on,so they told us to bring it back in. Car was "fixed" a second time,until just a couple hours later the light was on again. Called to tell them the light was on again and was told to bring the car back again,only to arrive there and be told they can't fix it and we will need to take it to a Kia dealer. Which will cost us another 90 dollars! Will never use this location again. read more

I've been using this shop for about the last 10 years. Recently, I had an issue where there was a vibration in the front end of my Escape, and I was suspecting a bad ball joint or tie rod. The truck has about 100K miles, and as it turns out the issue was a strut on the front end that didn't survive this springs pot hole's. Midas replaced both front Struts with full strut kits (not just the cartridges), performed my 100K tune up (new plugs that are VERY hard to get to) and cleaned out the throttle body and injectors. Now the truck rides like new, the throttle response is much better and feels like new, and the vehicle no longer pulls to the side when I try to stop. It literally feels like I just drove it off the lot again, and they got all this done in one business day. Steve has always been incredibly honest, I've never - not once - ever questioned his repairs and the work I have done is always done fast and done right the first time. I highly recommend this shop if you want car work done honestly, quickly, and right the first time. read more

I've been going to Midas for years for my car maintenance. Today I went in for an oil change and it was recommended that I replace my brakes next time I'm in and I was quoted for that. As I am leaving the mechanic that drove my car out mentions I have a bad link and he forgot to include that in my service summary. I pull out and immediately notice a sound that had not been present before. I go back and they said Oh yep you need a link replaced without even looking at my car to make sure nothing is loose and proceeds to write me up another quote for $173.32 to replace the $27 in parts that I did not have an issue with before I went in today. I've never had any issues like this before at a Midas, needless to say I won't return to another one! I can't afford to fix things that weren't "broken" upon arrival. read more

These guys make it happen. I take my Jeep and my wife's Acura here for regular oil changes, along with various other fluid changes when needed (recently: front differential, transmission, etc.). Knowledgeable and fair staff with "can do" attitude. I enjoy working with them. They also recently solved an electrical window problem, which I'd been trying to solve myself for 2+ months. read more

Paid $100 for an alignment..steering wheel still off center and truck NOW "pulls" down road, not ROLLS like it should! Informed Steve, the owner, PRIOR TO WORKING ON IT, about the adjustable idler arm.."Yeah yeah I know about them..I had installed both the idler and Pittman arm..MYSELF! "54 YR. OLD, NOW RETIRED. Former N.A.I.S.E. Certified Master Mechanic.. Steve's tech DID NOT TOUCH IDLER ARM ADJUSTMENT..even though this IS IMPORTANT in the OVERALL NECCESITY and SAFETY of an proper alignment..After taking my concerns to Steve..I was told, " Actually Bud to do your alignment RIGHT...We need to go back and take your tie rods completely apart at the adjusters, put back on and then center them, then take our toe in toe out measurements".."and by the way it's going to cost you $200+ for the labor...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I just paid you $100+ the day before TO DO AN ALIGNMENT? and you said nothing about 'we need to do this first to do a CORRECT ALIGNMENT and you said "goes straight as an arrow down the road" AFTER YOU TOOK MY CASH!... NO ONE EVEN TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE STEVE...My other given choice was "just live with it"...Yes he said that! And laughingly while taking two phone calls comes back and says" well you have had 5 minutes to think about it and decide,so what do you want to do"??? Seriously, that is what you say to an unsatisfied customer when YOU, as in Midas, screwed up? I would have easily and GLADLY PAID another $40/$50 for THEM to loosen the two bolts necessary to adjust idler arm..on top of the $100 alignment costs as I now have to take it to another "professional" shop and pay a SECOND ALIGNMENT FEE! Had used Midas in past and was satisfied and returned...NEVER AGAIN to EAST EUCLID AVE store managed & OWNED BY STEVE... By the way this is a 'CHERRY' 2002 Chevy S10 ZR2 LS 4X4 OFF ROAD PACKAGE..With 62,000 ORIGINAL MILES..GARAGED EVERY YEAR since it rolled of the lot BRAND NEW..Truck is in MINT CONDITION! read more

Not good at all. Took my mustang in for servicing. Made it three miles down the road before it died and wouldn't restart. Had to tow it home. Will never visit again. They didn't even test drive the vehicle. It was in better shape before they worked on it. read more

My son brought his car in after some issues he was having. They were told multiple times by him and myself to call him once they figured out what was wrong and what a rough estimate would be BEFORE they start any of the repairs. They never did that and suddenly he has over an $800 bill. Steve, whom I guessing is the store manager is a liar and a complete jerk!!!! Yesterday my son paid his bill and went to leave, his car won't start once again after they supposedly fixed it. Today, his car still isn't fixed and running. They have completely overcharged him, parts should have been roughly $150 in total and a $44 part they are charging him $144!!!!! Without customers, none of their employees would have a job so maybe you should learn better customer service skills and make sure when you "fix" a vehicle that you have actually fixed it. If you don't know anything about older vehicles then maybe you shouldn't work on them!!! You don't even deserve a corner on one of the stars but unfortunately I had no choice and had to give a full one. read more
