A week ago I took my dinosaur (aka car) to DEQ to do the required tests. The guy told me to stop fumbling for my insurance because my car FAILED. Insert shocked emoji here. I was given a document to show the failure and advised to go to a mechanic to fix. Needless to say I was crestfallen. I had basically waited till the 11th hour to complete the registration and I was dreading the diagnosis. I made an appointment with Midas and got there @ 8:00am sharp when they opened. I explained to Carter what was going on and he said he would check it out. Now there were a multitude of things that could have been wrong, and personally having practically zero mechanic/auto knowledge I would have accepted the reply. However Carter provided the best news ever. Apparently the thermostat for my antifreeze was glitching (that would explain the "check engine" light flipping on and off) and it happened to be working at that moment. Not only that, but Carter and crew were able to complete the DEQ diagnostic on site which came back clean. This saved me a trip to DEQ and allowed me to make it to Les Schwab for my scheduled appointment for snow tires. I want to thank Carter (second favorite Carter next to Carter Beauford of the Dave Matthews Band) for an amazing experience. I will be returning for any future needs. read more

Stopped by here after a neighbor left me a note that it looked like my car was leaking. The gentlemen here tried looking for the source of the "leak" and were not able to find anything. Best part is they didn't even charge me for it. They could've easily lied and said they found a leak and fixed it but I trust that good honest work was done. First time ever visiting this location. Staff was very friendly. I had a minor issue (loose muffler heat shield), and they took care of me quickly and didn't charge me for the service. I dropped into this shop a few months ago delivering some information to local businesses and was immediately impressed with the staff here. There was a company vehicle that was damaged after the power steering flush. The truck was a Ford dually and in hindsight I would have figured out the flush myself. The driver side window of the truck, the rolling mechanism was damaged by a young employee of Midas. read more

I am not from here and have only been in town for the past couple of weeks. I found that Erick has good reviews and decided to give them a chance and all of the positive views were true. While I was sitting in their waiting room I had met some other customers that have been coming here for years. To me that was a good feeling. I originally had questions about my 94 Integra' that recently had been giving me issues. spoke to Erick over the phone which He was extremely helpful regarding things that probably was causing weak ignition and power loss/failure . We genuinely trust the service here. The manager, Eric, has always helped us get our cars fixed up at a fair price and without adding on extras we don't need. As an example, we brought our car in for a check engine light and found it was a sensor needing to be replaced. They checked it out and were able to fix the problem by simply cleaning the sensor. Saved us a couple hundred bucks. There's been a couple instances like that where they really just want your car fixed and not to manipulate the bill by making unnecessary repairs. As two women who don't know anything about cars, we really value having a mechanic we can trust. Whenever we call, they can usually get us in the shop the following day and finish the work efficiently. Well, that's earned them our loyalty. We will continue to bring both of our cars here! Plus, when one of our older cars finally needed to be replaced, they inspected a couple used cars for us and helped us decide which one was right for us. Super helpful. read more

After my horrible horrible experience with "Car Toys" (see Car Toy review), I never thought I could trust another auto mechanic again. Unfortunately there was always comes a day you need to face your fears... or challenges. And that day came 3,500 miles later when my car was due for another oil change, and to top it off a new air filter, and a transmission fluid change. Not bad, not bad. Standard routine. And to be fully prepared for any mechanic's critism or dishonesty (and save some money) I called a few places, got some quotes, and I seperated the required services based on their prices. I'M READY! I thought I was clever until the first mechanic (Clay's) I ventured into told me after a check up that my car's belt is cracking and its front strut is also precariously being held. GREAT. According to Clay's the only way they can get a replacement strut is through a junkyard, and that my car is "WAYY too dangerous to drive because any bump or hole could dislodge my wheel". And according to them, the best course of action is to leave it over the weekend for a good fixing. UM junk yard? and no car? NO THANKS. So Midas is the second mechanic I tried. I told them about all my car's problems, and the much needed replacement strut, and they told me calmly that they can get it all done in the next two hours, get a NEW strut in 10 mins, AND they would price match all the lowest services &prices I had found. Too good to be true I know... but two hours later, like he said, my car was fixed! Since then I have gone to Midas for another oil change, and have met the owner. He's a super friendly guy; A retiree from intel, who started this place for fun. The guy at the desk (Jesse) is also super helpful and will explain all your car problems and parts without any hesitation. They even let you go into the shop with the right gear and supervision, so they have nothing to hide. The only con I could think of with them is they don't clean the interior of your car during the oil change like jiffy lube might. But I'd rather have honesty over a clean floor mat any day =]. They also have a bunch of coupons online for their services too, so you should take a look before you go. I wonder what I would do without them... read more

Great, honest operation. The owner will bend over backwards to take care of any issue your car may have!! To date, they have worked with me on testing, then installing a high performance brake upgrade. This was after Jesse helped me out by steering me to the OEM "Super" late model vehicle. The calipers bolted straight on though quite different model years and the bigger rotors test fitted before my full purchase proved true. GREAT braking resulted. Loved that. Then one day my electric window broke off one rail and Vahid (the owner) squeezed me into his tight schedule, after I left the dealership disappointed. They found the issue, put a quick weld on a broken bit in the door, lubed the window rails, and it's actually working better now than before Great auto repair shop! Highly recommended for any repair! I am SO thankful for this Midas location!!!! I needed new brake pads and after getting the run around from Royal Moore Subaru accompanied by a super high estimate and VERY poor customer service I decided to try out Midas since I had good experience with them in Kansas City. I used their "get an estimate" on the Midas website and Erick replied almost instantly with a quote. After answering a few more questions I had via email (he responded to these very quickly as well) I made an apppointment (also via online). All in all service was excellent and done in a timely manner. Not to mention they saved me $300 by NOT going to Royal Moore Subaru. I will continue to use Midas and will NEVER go to Royal Moore Subaru again. Did I mention I got a lifetime warranty on my brakes pads? Awesome. read more

After a $400 vet bill for our cat with a new kidney issue, our brakes started making a hideous noise. The timing couldn't have been worse as kidneys and brakes weren't in the monthly budget... But we hobbled in to this Midas, fully believing that we were in for an $800 brake job. Imagine our surprise when Erik informed us that $150 would completely solve our problem! phewwwww. Buyer beware! We bought a car that they had done spark plugs, wires, & coils. All were bad but they only replaced the wires. The guy said no to warranty except for wires because they were cheap. They don't stand by their work or products. read more

I went here today because of a Groupon I purchased. To be honest I was waiting to hear about what other services or products I "needed" like most places do but I never got any of that. The owner greeted me in the morning with a smile offered coffee and cookies to me while I waited and was a pleasure to simple talk to while my car was being worked on. I always figure a place like Midas or jiffy lube to try and sell me an air filter or wiper blades. What a shock and genuine surprise is it to simply get the work asked for and nothing else.
