Disclaimer: I have usually unfounded distrust of mechanics and other repair people. I also watch for typical upsells (cabin filter, wipers), but they're small potatoes compared to what dealers try to add on. That said, I am pleased with the service I've had at Midas over the last few years. It started with oil changes. Though having to make an appointment is necessary and sometimes amount when I could go to a dedicated oil change place, it's been with it to use the coupon. The facility is small but very comfortable, whether in there for 30 minutes or hours. Blake is an extremely customer service oriented manager who also knows how to fix cars. Yesterday I spent most of the day there, happily, waiting for my car to be towed, then watching Blake and Kyle replace the two front axles, one of which rusted through the night before (talk about a loud, eerie screech!). Blake warned that the other might go soon so I had them both replaced. I also listened to what he told other customers and how he treated them. I was impressed every time from my eavesdropping. One thing I like is that he'll show you what's wrong or needs to be replaced. At the dealership my car is whisked away and they're often surprised that I'm curious and cautious enough to ask what they are seeing. The guys did a yeoman's job when one housing was so rusted that it required ingenuity, extra effort and time. Never did I hear or sense grumbling. Nor did they gouge me for more money to compensate for the extra muscle and mind power to solve the problem. AND Blake called to update me when I left for a while. All in all, I'm glad they're there. They are skilled, can usually give estimates without a lot of fanfare, AND the restroom seems, smells and looks cleaner than many I've encountered in even food related retail. read more

while on vacation 7/11/ 2025in Nashville my battery light came on. they chevoked my Kia Van and said needed the alternator replaced. I told them that it was. just replaced in January I okayed the repair and when I picked up my vehicle I asked for the old part and even offered to pay a core charge if needed. they refused to give me the old part and said it was against company policy. I filed a complaint with Midas corporation I have called them every week since. Nathan who said he was the store manager has called me a few times assuring me that he should send me the part. one time he told me F-off. it's been over 3 months of dealing with corpirate and district manager. nothing has happened. I have read a lot of bad reviews and I feel bad for the manager because he's dealing with a lot, but overall he's an honest dude and I think this place will turn around. read more

I called this shop to get my exhaust done today, they said "yeah man, come on down we can do it." I drove from Portland to Madison which is about a 45 minute drive. I pull in and they get under my truck and say "we don't have enough pipe and cannot do it today. " Overall very unpleasant experience, and a waste of gas. read more

I don't have the energy or time to write the details and you wouldn't believe it if I told you.it will take you half the day to read it if I did. I will shorten it by saying Austin the manager was extremely rude and what I had to go through to get them to perform the work is pathetic. Midas was recommended by a friend of mine. I needed an evaluation to determine the source of a clonking noise and a priority for intervening, and called around 3:00 pm, July 15, 2024 to make arrangements. I spoke to Jay who was very helpful. I made an appointment for July 16, 2024. Once we ended the call and I had time to review my schedule again, I called back to see if I could come the same day, but explained I could not arrive until between 4:30 pm and 5:00 pm. Without hesitation Jay was willing to accommodate me. Upon my arrival I was assisted immediately, and within 10-15 minutes, the diagnosis was completed and an appointment for my follow up was scheduled for July 16th. Nope Guy told me I needed all new brake pads, rotors. Quoted me over 1200. I took it to a local shop and they replaced the front pads for 160 and sent me on my way. When I told Midas that I didn't want to have the work done and wanted to come pick my car up the manager on the phone raised his voice and got frustrated with me. Went to this Midas in January as I thought I needed front brakes. The manager and mechanic showed me how I needed $1400 of repairs on my car with less that 40k miles. A couple of months later I went to another certified shop. They checked out my car and said it did not even need new brake pads. They were astounded that Midas was using this scam on an elderly person. I got out of there with only a tire rotation. Last week I called the corporate office and was informed that I would receive a phone call in 3 days. Still nothing. I assume the corporate office accepts this sort of practice. I took my car to Midas on Gallatin Road in Madison. They gave me a diagnostic test. They said to fix my car it would be $2,650 for catalytic converter and manifold repair. I ask the manager Charles would that fix the problem. He assured yes. They did the work. I paid them. I left the shop that night. The car was still broken. Got home and realize they cracked the windshield, oily Floor mats and cords unattached under hood. I went back to him to fix it right. They didn't know how to fix it. But they replaced windshield. So I ask for my money back because I have the same problem. He wouldn't. So i talked to district manager and he told me to take the car to the Murfreesboro Road location in Nashville. He said he would help me. He said the was not the manifold and catalytic converter it's the motor mounts and if I give $1,320. I told him no way. So now we are on our way to court! read more

These guys were absolutely fantastic when they inspected my car free of charge. I was on the fence on whether or not to purchase a new car, so I wanted someone to inspect it for me first. They noticed that the back brakes needed to be replaced, but other than that, everything else was working well with the car. I decided to purchase it because of them. RIP OFF REPORT *DO NOT USE MIDAS* - Firestone is next door. Tire Discounters is around the corner. Both Great Companies!!! If the Owner Steven Towers would like to repay me with a check to pay off the (Bogus line of credit company the Manager of Midas lied to me about that has an APR of 158%) for the grand total of $1,442 I will remove my review. Until then I talk to on average 100 people a day. And I am telling every single person who will tell a few more about this corrupt experience. I should be refunded for the now 2 days of work I missed too. As a quick in & out oil turned into an all afternoon experience sitting in a dirty old building falling apart with the air conditioner hanging out of the wall and half the flooring shingles damaged or missing from water damage. I watched a total of 6 people walk through the door from 12pm to 6:30 PM. Every one was given the same BS story there were problems with their cars needing items repaired. I trust people & trusted the manager who said I needed these things done. The front brakes and an oil change was all I really needed. I'm not happy that a few of the things I asked to be repaired were not and the manager made BS excuses as to I could come back after I set in the store for 6.5 hours and missed a day of work. The manager lied about the terms of and the line of credit he wanted me to use. I found out real quick after the work was completed and rang up that I was paying 158% APR and the company is now taking out $52 out of my checking account every 2 weeks When I found out the terms I was wanted to be quieted because the Owner and Regional Managers were in the store and let me tell you they did not say a word. Old saying shit runs down the hill so they say. Great job guys - Take come classes on Operations Management as your business model is about to be closed and trust me I am personally the reason why you are going out of business whether you know it or not you cant screw people over to make a few bucks and stay in business. I am the reason why you are on your way out of business so I'd start right now looking for another line of work. I watched an older lady get totally screwed over on an old junker. The manager ordered the wrong part and tried to pass it off on her by then changing the price and telling her it was a better part. Another lady was tried to be screwed who went in for just an oil change same as I did. She said no and it was getting late so the manager did not push anymore and you know white guys dont push African American women too much. The last Guy with Very Little English was given about 2 hours where all the Manager did was try to get him approved for this Bogus Line of Credit to have his Uber Van repaired... This manager cared more about having this line of credit turned on than having the cars already in the shop repaired correctly. Some of the items the manager said needed to be repaired or maintained had already been repaired or has just been done before going in to Midas. Be very careful and look at reviews before doing business and when you need an Oil Change Avoid Using Midas. The Manager has been at this store 3 months the assistant has been there 2 days. Lots of loud rap music coming out of the back repair bay, lots of cussing and the guys had no gloves to work with. My car was given back to me with a squeak, vibration and noise. Turned around and went back. Between the 2 mechanics they were able to do something to get the noise to go away. A 1 star is because that's the lowest I can go to give this review and the 2nd mechanic has some knowledge. This guy will be gone soon to a more reputable company. Complete and total rip off. Changed my sons oil pan gasket and in the process damaged it and then had the audacity to charge him $700 and then inform him, "the oil pan is warped." To add insult to injury, they quoted him $700 just for a new oil pan when you can buy one from any reputable auto parts store for $150 including new gasket. Genuinely the worst customer service experience I've ever had from the district manager, Charles. Charles was extremely rude to the customers, barking at me asking what is going on with my car, speaking over me and meeting me with aggression. Charles was screaming at his workers in the most rude tone I've ever heard, that every customer could hear through the door. Charles up-charged me for brake censors, and tried to get me to pay even more until I argued back. 100% worst auto experience I've ever had. Not to mention, it took almost 2 hours to get 2 brake censors fixed. Charles also flashed me his gun unwarranted during the time that I was there and was speaking about another customer to me in a derogatory tone because she did not want to pay more than an oil change today and in his words, "that's what's wrong with America". I didnt end up getting the work done. But since they wont stop sending feedback request text message, here it is....I will say they were way higher than everyone else we got a quote from. Even with the dryer and all the extra things replaced. I felt they attempted to use scare tactics to automatically make me replace the other parts related ro a compressor replacement. He never once explained that the extra monies were ONLY If there were metal shavings until AFTER I started calling other places in the parking lot after I got some insane price and I voiced concern on why such a big difference in price. Like why didn't you explain that BEFORE that point???? Hmmmm.....Then he tried to say well if "properly" done..which my friend with me caught that jab as well. Extremely tacky to me. Maybe bc we were black women they felt we do not know better or know that we have other options. Shame. We ended up taking car literally down the road to Pep boys and they got us right and agreed with us about Midas tactics. They went into GREAT DETAIL about the process and what would have to happen IF metal shavings were indeed found. He also asked a lot of pre work questions, the others didn't ask much of anything so they could have a full picture ..instead of just throwing random prices out. Pep boys really educated us so we understood what they were about to do, why, and worst case scenario. Ended up only being compressor ...NO SHAVINGS in compressor. Runs like new. And they price matched my firestone price of 1180..which they charged us 1175. I honestly feel after the scare tactics/underlying condescending tone this place attempted to use on us ladies, I wouldn't have trusted them. I can totally see them claiming there were shavings found etc., when there wasn't or scaring me into some other service fee. Glad I trusted my gut and went elsewhere! read more

OIL CHANGES ONLY!!! I've typically had great service at this place, but every time I've gotten anything other than an oil change, it has been a DISASTER. Earlier this year, I went to get my sparks and coil packs changed on my Dodge Charger due to a cylinder misfire. Months later, the same cylinder misfired again after having them fix it. I went back to have it repaired as it was still under warranty. While getting that repaired, they found the source of a leak that HAD to be fixed before I could get the car back. This involved changing out several parts including the water pump. While making these new MANDATORY changes, I'm being told day by day from "Myles" ,the store manager, that my car will be ready by the end of the day. It never is. Ever. Here's the big part. While making these changes, they let me know that usually a new timing chain is put in the car when the water pump is fixed, but they're going to try to reuse the current one to stay within my budget. This was not proposed to be mandatory as all the other changes. If so, we would've found the money for it. As a result, the timing chain broke. After several more days of trying to fix it, they took the car to a Dodge dealer who basically told them that they never should've attempted that, and I NOW NEED A NEW ENGINE BECAUSE IT HAS LOCKED UP. UNREAL!!! The mechanic knew he should've attempt this. We have recorded on video saying that. Myles told me, they already had information from Dodge saying that the timing chain MUST be changed while changing the water pump. THE PROFESSIONALS ALREADY KNEW THIS WAS A BAD DECISION AND DID IT ANYWAY. Despite all these conversations being recorded, Midas is denying any fault in this. While on the phone with the District Manager, Myles the store manager, ADMITTED that they took a gamble with my vehicle by trying to reuse my timing chain. Eric, the Vice President refusing to do anything. Throughout this entire time, no one from the business ever calls back as promised. Including Eric. Right now (nearly 3wks later) at this moment my car is sitting in the shop, engine torn apart, on two flat tires, with all belongings in it, and no sign of a resolution in sight. Again, they refuse to call us back as promised. At this point, we're in the process of pursuing legal action, as they've left us no choice. OIL CHANGES ONLY!!! read more

I came in to get an oil change and as I drove out of their parking lot my oil pressure light came on and my engine was making horrible whirring and clicking noises. They either forgot to put any oil back in my car or put in a dangerously low amount. When I slowly drove my car back to them to correct this situation the manager was very dismissive and acted like it was no big deal and just walked away into his office. This kind of negligence followed by extremely awful customer service seals the deal that I will never come back and will go out of my way to tell everyone I know what happened to me at this location. Sounded like a metal on metal. Finally looked behind the tire and saw that they had forgot to reconnect a metal bracket that held a cable in place when they disconnected the sway bar links. If I could leave a zero star I would. I was told I needed new brake pads and rotors in the front + back and that it would cost over $700. The manager, William, went into a lot of detail about how damaged my rotors were. Something told me he was lying. Took my car to Budget Brakes down the road, and they showed me what my brake pads and rotors looked like and they were perfectly fine. They weren't anywhere near needing replacement. I watched the guys who were servicing my car through the window and it seems that they did all the checks on the list and then some. There was an exhaust mount out of place. They straightened and reinstalled it at no extra charge and did the basic oil change quickly. They also pointed out a couple of other issues that needed attention, and showed them to me. read more

Twice I took my car to a poorly operated mechanic shop who claimed they couldn't figure out what was wrong or the second time did a poor job on fixing something, and both times afterwards I took it to Midas and they were able to determine what was wrong right away and fix it properly. Long story short, I found the staff here to be disingenuous or inept at best. I bought a Groupon for a synthetic blend oil change that a Midas staff member told me they would not honor. My vehicle has always taken synthetic blend, so I was naturally perturbed when I was told I needed a full synthetic oil change (which costs more). After speaking with a GM service professional I was told a synthetic blend is, in fact, what's recommended for my vehicle. The kicker for me is that the Midas staff wasn't willing to work to resolve the "situation" in an honest manner. I was told that since I'd need the full synthetic oil change but didn't purchase the full synthetic Groupon, they'd just charge the difference in the price of those Groupons. The full synthetic Groupon costs $50. I was told with the FS Groupon price + the value of my Groupon ($20), my total would be almost $50. I ain't a mathematician, but $50 - $20 doesn't equal almost $50. I'm hoping it was ineptitude and not dishonesty... but I don't really want inept or dishonest people working on my car, so I won't be back here again. read more
