Amazing Service! Last night my Yukon wouldn't start. I found Ted working after hours and explained my dilemma. He offered a number of suggestions for me to try on my own. As he was leaving he saw me stranded and tried to help me get started, but I realized I actually needed a new starter motor. Today, Erich and his opening crew helped me push it from next door into a repair bay, confirmed Ted's diagnosis, ordered a new starter, installed the new starter, and had me back on the road in two and a half hours AS A WALK IN WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT! I find that to be truly AMAZING in a world where few people are concerned about their customer service. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! Professional staff, both very knowledge and kind. I took my 2011 Chevy Malibu in for an exhaust leak around 10am. The resonator ended up needing to be replaced because it had rusted through. I dropped my car off at 10am and it was ready by 3pm. I was also told my part has a 1 year year warranty which is reassuring. My car is now extremely quiet and my problem is entirely solved. I feel the total price tag of parts, labor, etc was reasonable. Lastly but most importantly, the staff were very professional and helpful. I was helped by Percy and Eric, both gave excellent customer service. I want to emphasize they were very kind and I felt they had extensive knowledge of their jobs. I came here for a wheel alignment, took it for a test drive and my steering wheel was still not straight and I started having problems with my tires whenever I made a turn. I took it back immediately and told the mechanic that worked on my car what happened. He was rude and insisted that "all we did was an alignment". He then rudely directed someone else to help me. The other guy took it for a test ride and notice the sounds with the tires also. I asked him what he thought it was and he stated some issues with my front wheel bearings. I didn't have any issues with them prior to coming in for my appointment. My aunt owns a dealership so I took it there immediately after to tell them what happened. They lifted the car and noticed fresh grind marks where my wheel bearings were. Also as they were looking at my car the second time around I could hear the mechanic ,who was rude to me earlier, yelling about how sure he was he did the alignment right and saying things like i don't know what I'm talking about, etc. I just honestly think it was very unprofessional. UPDATE: So the regional mgr "Tony" left me a voicemail msg about a month ago apologizing for my experience and his desire to "make it right". He said the manager was no longer there and his best mgr "Dustin" from another shop was training the new mgr at the Menomonee Falls shop. He asked that I call Dustin. I also got a voicemail from Dustin saying the same thing as Tony. About a week later I spoke to Dustin who was very nice and extremely apologetic about my experience. He asked how they could make it right. I told him since I've had to pay again to get the brakes fixed that weren't fixed the first time, the only way to call it square was to refund the money I paid the first time. He said he understood and would talk with Tony. He asked if I would update my review here on Yelp once I was "taken care of". I said I would. He said he'd welcome the chance for me to bring my car to his shop in the future. I said I'd have to think about that. He asked me to send the receipt from the second time I had to pay to get the same brakes fixed. I emailed him the receipt. He said he received it and would talk with Tony and get back to me in a "couple of days". Well it's been a month since Dustin and I spoke and I have not heard back from either Dustin or Tony, nor have I received a refund. To be clear, I expect a full refund of what I paid, nothing more, nothing less and I'm not calling anyone. I expect to hear from Tony or whoever the regional mgr is...not a store mgr (Dustin). Dustin, as nice as he was, doesn't have decision-making authority so he doesn't need to be the middle man. Tony called me initially which means he has my contact info, and they have a copy of the receipt. Best service from Chris! I had a quoted repair from another shop, which was hundreds more than his price. I got my car towed over to Midas. Chris had it inspected several times to find absolutely no issues. Saving me a ton of almost wasted money. He also did great with keeping my updated during the whole process. Update to my Customer Experience: I spoke to the Shop Manager on the the 2nd of August, and the shop manager offered me an oil change. An oil change. I spoke candidly to the manager, and said "...after my experience at your shop, I do not trust your shop to perform an oil change on my vehicle." I felt the the offer of an oil change was an insult, and I asked the shop manager to have his manager reach out to me. Later that afternoon, I was contacted by the Regional Director, Anthony M. After I shared my story, I explained to Anthony, that I had a vehicle inspection scheduled at a certified GMC service center on Friday, the 4th of August, but that tentatively I would like to be refunded Midas' labor charges, of 269.99, however I would have to sign a waiver of liability, not holding Midas responsible for anything in the future. I also asked Anthony if he would pay for the missing OE bolts, and he said he would not. Given this decision of a waiver, I asked Anthony if he could wait until Friday pending the results of the inspection, and he said "...no my offer is valid only till tomorrow (Thursday). I told Anthony I would give him my answer on Friday. In my mind, there were alarms and red flags everywhere his not waiting for the outcome of my scheduled inspection with the GMC dealership. On Friday, the inspection was finished, and the the GMC dealership found no damage from the lift, and inspected Midas' work. The replacement engine crossmember support bolts Midas used were not OE, and to replace them would cost ~$20.00 for each bolt! On Friday, I sent Anthony a text, detailing what I believed I should be refunded. He said we could schedule a call for Monday, August 7th, and I explained to him, I did not want to call, rather I would like to continue the discussion via text or email, so that nothing got lost in communication. I won't even get into the fact that I had taken time off of work, to get an inspection for peace of mind. Anthony declined communication via text or email, stating he "...see's where this is headed, and that this would be his last text on the subject." I went in on 11/16/2023 for an issue with my brakes. the store advised me that i needed back brakes and rotors and tried to charge $600 for parts from Advance Auto I went directly to Advance Auto and obtained the same parts the store had provided. The store completed the work for $250. I unknowlely went to the worse mechanic shop in history that day. As i drove off from the place I just got this work completed and spent a total of $500 for brand new parts and labor. As i drove off the noise my car was making before i went in my car was still making. I went back to the place and advised them of this and was told it was brake dust and I had other issues that were more concerning than the grinding I heard however my car has not issues prior I usually go to Nissan the dealership and have been going consistently to keep my car in a good status. I have never experienced such a poor job be completed by a corporate location and them not guarntee that the diagnostic they provide is correct. my car has nothing wrong with it but the store provided numerous recommendations not even Nissan dealership provided. I have been complaining to the store and corporate and have now completed a BBB claim. I am going to take this to the news station until something is done about my car. DO NOT EVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO MIDAS they have terrible people working on your car and the people they have working on your car there tries to pull you to the side and provide you services outside of going to Midas. Tee the black male worker provided me his phone number to complete the work for $120 but I of course am a woman I dont go to anyones home nor do I trust it. Tee who stated he could do the work outside of work is the same person who completed the work on my car... That is still not fixed ... I will keep complaining until Midas takes care of this issue. read more

What is the purpose of scheduling an appointment if when you arrive at the appointment they tell you, they can't see you they have to cancel the appointment because they're overbooked and have cars that still needed to be worked on from yesterday horrible horrible horrible service. I recently took my vehicle in for an alignment. When I chose to go with the 1 year alignment the staff taking care of me/ cashier shook his head as if I was not making a wise choice. While I was waiting in the customer waiting area I overheard one of their staff talking about my car, saying, " yeah I like that little car it got up when I floored it!" I became upset and couldn't believe staff would treat a customer's car this way. Finally when the service was finished and I went to the front to pay, the service guy who was working in the front just handed me the alignment results and said have a nice day without even explaining the results. I thought to myself wow how unprofessional this place was. When I got in my car the steering wheel and seat was adjusted way off from how I had it to my accommodations. At least they could have adjusted the steering wheel and seat somewhat back to how it was that would have been nice. I noticed that it smelled like cigarette smoke in my car. I don't smoke. I became very upset. Then when I drove home the car was pulling in the opposite direction (badly) as of an alignment was never done. What did I even pay for??? DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS PLACE!!! Now I have to pay for the same type of service AGAIN elsewhere! Thanks a lot! read more

This is an update regarding the response I received from Midas on December 7, 2016 regarding my initial Yelp review of the Midas in Menomonee Falls. I have never been more offended in my life. I received a call from a guy named "Eric" who first of all refused to give me his last name. He told me that any complaints received by Midas comes to him. He said he was the regional manager for this area in Wisconsin. He also said that there is NO ONE higher than him that I could talk to. He told me that he is a franchise owner and the buck stops with him. If he actually is a franchise owner, then he should be well aware that he is operating under the brand of Midas and he is expected to maintain the quality and service standards of the Midas brand. Obviously he is not! This man was so rude. He started the conversation out by telling me that he was personally present at the Midas location when I was on the phone with the technician who explained why I needed new pads/rotors just 30 days after having my brakes checked out. This man, Eric, outright lied to me. He was demeaning, he interrupted me when I spoke, he tried to hide the lie by "talking shop" and trying to explain how brakes work. I further explained to him that I was not a mechanic - I'm in the legal business. He offered NO resolution other than me driving to Menomonee Falls to have the same conversation we just had on the telephone which led nowhere. "Eric" continuously asked why I was complaining, and I explained to him 4 times during that conversation why I was no happy with the service and why I was lied to by the technician. After explaining the same situation to him four times, I told him that my story was not going to change because it was the truth. Suck it up and accept the fact that your technician lied. Suck it up and face the fact that this particular Midas location is not operating at the level it was when the previous manager was there. Again, I'm out of hundreds of dollars because of a mistake/poor service at this particular location. I vow to NEVER do business with them again. Many family members, friends, colleagues, and church members rely on my referrals. I will let them know to beware of this location, and especially the "Regional Manager" who thinks he is the top boss! read more

Went in for free alignment check expecting they would try to up sell me. But they were honest and told me it was good. They showed me underneath vehicle and said even if it did need an alignment they would recommend I go to a place down the street because my wheels were pretty fancy and they didn't want to risk scratching them up. Made appointment online and they took car in right away. Great experience but waiting area could use some updating. Not the cheapest place to get work done but at least they don't sell you something you don't need. read more

My wife and I have been going to Midas for the past few years. They are known for their free break pads warranty for life. Since going to Midas, we both have been having break issues on a frequent basis. I had been going in and there is always a $800+ bill. The last time I had my breaks done 14 months ago, I explained to them that "I simply want to prevent this from ever happening again. Breaks issues should not happen this frequent. Everyone I spoke to says I am getting my breaks replaced too frequently. What can I do to reduce the frequency?" They explained to me that I should come back after every oil change and looking closely at my issue and I need to get the ball bearings replaced. I agreed to their recommendations. I bring my car in to get the bearings replaced and they said its not the bearings. I just need to pay to get the parts lubed. I agree to their recommendations. A few months after I had my break pads and rotors replaced, I came in and explained I smelled burning rubber. They took a look and said they see nothing wrong. It is probably the small oil leak. I agreed to get that fixed. Now 2 weeks ago, my break pads are squeeling. I smell burning rubber. I did everything they asked. I brought my car in after every oil change. Brought it in when there is something marginally wrong. And the same problems persisted. I don't drive or break aggressively. On that visit, they also recommended I get my coolant fluids replaced. I explained to them that I had that completed 1 month ago next door. The young gentleman response was, "oh, I guess not then." Mister car wash that replaced my antifreeze looked at the fluids and assured me it does not need to be redone. My father in law convinced me that replacing break pads and rotors that frequent is not right. Don't get sucked into the free break pads. Take it to a credible shop. I took my car to the place my wife takes her car and they fixed everything for half the price and half the work Midas quoted her. They explained to me Midas diagnosis was wrong and their parts are inferior. My wife since going to the new shop 2.5 years had no issues with her breaks. Listen, I am the average Joe that does not know much about cars. I put my faith and trust in trusting the professionals. I am however a busy man that simply have no time for automobile issues. I wished I went to a more credible place a long time ago with more superior parts (Ceramic pads). I feel that I put my trust in the wrong shop and I paid much more than I should at the end of the day. Update 6/28/18: The oil leak Midas fixed Feb 2018 is still leaking oil. I contacted social@midas.com and then called the regional manager, Dustin on 6/29/18, awaiting for a return phone call and feedback. I will update this review accordingly. 7/12/18: I have not heard back from Dustin, the shop manager, nor anyone from corporate since my last post. I have emailed corporate 2 days ago and have not received a call back. Please contact me at your convenience. Wow...not sure where to begin. I called Midas the day before and described what I wanted done to the car. (Mid muffler delete). Guy on phone says "you want a what?". That should have given me a clue as to the experience to follow. Guy says: We have to look at the actual car and check out what is involved. We set up an appointment for the next day. I show up at the time of the appointment. Guy says: I don't think we have time to do this now. Did we have a time set up? Uhm...yes, you told me noon. I then showed him a picture I brought to describe what I want and sends me off without ever looking at the car itself. I say: Why did I even come over here just now? You told me you were going to look at the car to see if you could do the job!! He says: I did look at it. (he looked at my picture). I just wasted 45 minutes on this. Just tell me on the phone you don't know what a mid-muffler is or know how to weld pipes and I won't waste my time with you. read more

After several failed tries at other auto shops, came in with a screw stuck in tire. Store got me in within 15 minutes, lifted my Jeep and found that the screw had not penetrated very far at all, pulled it out, cleared the tire and had me back driving within a half hour! NO CHARGE!!! Just recently my elderly Dad took his van to this facility because he had a check engine light on. They had his van for over an hour and charged him $124.85 to detect a P0133 (Oxygen Sensor) code -- to check a computer code is FREE!!!! and should only take a minute. Derek and his staff took advantage of my elderly Dad whom speaks very little English. God know how to take care of these kind of people. I called and talked to them about this situation and they said that they could not do anything about the situation and that "they're mechanics do not work for free" -- very rude and egotistical people. I am very unhappy with this type of treatment and service and have told my Dad never to take his vehicle there again and have also spread the word of how bad the service is at Midas in Menomonee Falls to my family, friends, church members, work and club colleagues and neighbors. read more

I took my car in on July 30th for an oil change and tire rotation. I have used this location for these services for the past few years. The last time I was there I was suspicious that they did not rotate the tires. So this time before I took it in, I put some chalk marks on one of the tires. When I returned to pick up my car, they told me that I needed to have my tie rods replaced at a cost of about $425 and they could do it that afternoon. I told them I would let them know later if I wanted to schedule that service. When I got home, I discovered that my tires had not been rotated and called Midas and they said they did not rotate them because my good tires were already on the front. I then took my car to another local mechanic to have him check the tie rods and he quoted only $275. However, upon inspection, he said not only did I not need new tie rods but my better tires were on the back and should have been rotated to the front. I immediately took my car back to Midas and told them to rotate my tires and that I did not need tie rods. The manager became irate and asked if I was calling him a liar and stormed out to the floor yelling profanities and throwing things. It was scary! They then proceeded to rotate my tires. The manager never returned to talk to me but instead one of the mechanics came out and told me the work was done and in fact my tie rods were fine (he said he would not problem letting his wife drive a car like mine). This same manager also told me over a year ago that I should have my timing belt replaced. After further investigation I realized that this car does not have a timing belt but has a timing chain and that does not require replacement. This behavior and practice of trying to scare me into having work done that is not necessary is totally unacceptable! Not sure if they were trying to take advantage of me because I was a woman but that did not work on me. This manager is totally unscrupulous, impolite, disrespectful and deceitful. I will never return to this location for any work on my car and I will tell anyone I know to stay away from this business. read more

CRAZY HIGH COSTS compared to other shops and incorrect diagnosis. They wanted $960 more than another shop to do a brake job!! i brought my car in for a noise coming from the front end which i told them i thought was a wheel bearing. Their diagnosis was rear brake job in which they wanted $1200 to complete both rear brakes!!! I took to another shop and they confirmed it was the front end that needed some work including the wheel bearing like i suspected which cost $400 to fix. they also let me know my rear brakes were only half used and a rear brake job (both rear brakes) would cost $240, not $1200 like Midas wanted!! be very very careful and make sure to get a second opinion. In addition Midas wouldn't write me up an official estimate for their $1200 brake job?? sounds fishy to me. also an employee accidentally left their 8 step sales process book on the front counter which is to teach employees how to sell to clients that call, what an interesting read that was! read more

I had received a couple oil changes from here with no problems. Using them to fix my tire? Wrong move. My car said my driver side rear tire was low so I filled it up. Four days later it said the same so I took it into Midas during my lunch break. The $25 "tire inspection" showed a nail in the middle. They said not a big deal, we can easily patch it up. As it was my lunch break, I asked to pay while they were "repairing" the tire so that as soon as they finished, I could get back to work. 20 minutes later, they say after patching it up, we tried putting air in it but couldn't because it's ruptured and that I'll need a new tire. So I come in with a tire at around 20psi and a nail in it and after "an easy repair", I'm left with a tire that's ruptured and have to buy a new one? They knew they messed up so they drove me across the street for me to buy a new tire. They then drove me 1/2 mile to work because like I said, I was on lunch break and already 30 minutes over it. This was nice of them to drive me but when they messed up, that's smart business to try to correct customer satisfaction. The lady doing all the paper work offered a free oil change to me but I said I just wanted a refund on the $20 repair that ended up making my tire worse. She called the manager and said he would have to be the one to refund me and he won't be in until the next day. The next day I go in and the manager refuses to refund me and claims I should have paid more than what I did. He also failed to give a rational explanation on how the rupture wasn't their fault or how the inspection missed it. Outside of the manager, I had no problem with the actual employees. read more

I went somewhere else and got my repair for a fraction of the quote. I received a coupon in the mail and decided to give you another chance. I had a fuel pump put on in January and by May all of the problems were finally fixed. A lot of wasted gas and a lot of time off of work to fix it. No customer service at all.
