Up until yesterday before bringing my car into Midas ONLY for the safety test it was running smooth and I was aware of a weak battery which I planned to have it replaced with my buddy the mechanic. As I was waiting Midas for my car they told me that I had to change the battery and go on about the alternator. I told I'm here for a safety test and was not looking to do anything else. They keep pushing a sales on me and I kept telling them no. There was a lady that came in before me looking to get an oil change and they kept pushing her to get synthetic oil, which cost twice as much and unnecessary. She just wanted to get the regular oil change. I felt bad and kind of wanted to say something, but didn't want to make a scene. So I get my car back after refusing on several occasions to their displeasure. The moment I drove out on the way to my buddy the mechanics shop, about 10-15 mins my car starts acting erratic. All the warning lights comes on at once. My car starts shaking while it's going into gear. Eventually I would not even go pass 10km/h, this was all happening during rush hour on a busy street, it was pretty scary. I had pull my car into a parking lot and then it just completely died. I can't start it. I called Midas back and they pretty much were like " well I told you so and don't blame it on us" kind of attitude. I told them that I've been driving this car for some time and the moment I bring it to your location my car died. It just seem very suspicious since they were so aggressive about me fixing things with them. My car is currently at my friends shop and I'm not sure exactly how much it's going to cost me to fix it now. I had to pay to get it tolled. My car is a 2012 mdx, with only 113000km on it. Relative low km. Been driving smooth and no issue other then regular wear and tear, minor things. I'm just sharing my honest experiences about these guys. I basically do not trust them and I'd never go to another Midas again! It seems like they have this very aggressive, untrustworthy sales approach there, beware if you choose to go to this location, it becomes very costly! Ps I'd give them zero stars, but that's not an option so I have to bite my tongue and give them one fake star.

Save your money and go somewhere else. I initially brought my car in for a significant scraping and grinding noise. To their credit, they scanned it, the diagnostic tool flagged the actuator, and they replaced it, which fixed that specific initial issue. However, the real frustration started when I picked up the car. I immediately noticed a subtle, metal-on-metal scraping sensation right under the driver's side floorboards. I brought it right back. They confidently assured me the issue was just that the front brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. I trusted their expertise and gave them the go-ahead. $900 later, the scrapping under the floorboards are still completely there. It turns out the pads and rotors didn't even need replacing, and they were ultimately unable to diagnose or fix the actual mechanical problem. I am left with the belief that they rely on the "parts cannon" approach--throwing expensive new components at a problem and hoping something sticks when a computer screen isn't giving them step-by-step instructions. Bottom line: If your issue triggers a clear error code on a diagnostic computer, they can swap the part. If your issue requires actual manual inspection, mechanical intuition, or real troubleshooting, I recommend taking your vehicle elsewhere.

I called Midas and asked what filter they had installed and their records showed Purolator. I wanted more than a refund this is ridiculous, and possibly fraudulent. If it was a mistake then the fact that they overbook so much that this can happen is ridiculous. I have and sent them the pictures clearly showing this is not a new filter, but I got a refund on services not provided.

I went in and confirmed in person and mentioned I had selected the "inspection" option on my appointment, and that I wanted to "wait for my vehicle". When I dropped it off they told me they couldn't do it while I waited (so it took ALL DAY). I had my tires swapped and they didn't do the inspection. When I asked about it they said to bring it back in a few weeks when it was less busy. When I called back to arrange, the lady on the phone was only interested in telling me they don't do inspections, even though it had been acknowledged by management already. She finally conceded and I was given a time to come. When I arrived I couldn't even get on the lot it was so packed, even though they told me to come at that time. While I was parked on the side of Danforth with my hazards on, waiting, the same lady came out to talk to me, so I said "I'd rather not argue with you" as I had no interest in going over it again. She then walked back to the lot and audibly called me an asshole to the manager, who was moving cars. When I confronted him about it he said he'd "talk to her". I asked for an apology and was told "I can't make another adult apologize". That goes for employees too I guess. He said he would call me back about the inspection and didn't. Wow is all I can say. When I went back to tell them about the issue (granted it was more than 24hrs) they told us that they couldn't do anything, that we would need to pay again to realign (despite telling us to come in after we called them about the issue). Our most recent interaction was subpar making it difficult to consider this place further. Honestly, the owner is a nice person, but apart from that the service is not what it used to be.

I had a terrible experience at Faraz Auto Collision & Painting. John has been the most unpleasant…read moreindividual I have ever had to deal with. I took my car to John for an estimate to repair a door dent/scratch caused by another driver opening their door into mine. John tried to get me to scam the other driver and inflated the estimate with "additional costs" to cover a vehicle rental, which I never asked for. He claimed to be doing me a favor, but in hindsight I should have known that if he so nonchalantly tried to get me, a stranger, to scam someone else, it's likely he would do the same to me. He said if we didn't want to collect the "additional costs" that was up to us, and we would only pay the remaining costs on the estimate. I decided not to collect these "additional costs" for a vehicle rental, then when I went to drop off my car John demanded more money than what was on the estimate, giving me a "cash" price that was more than the original legitimate, tax-included price, or if I wanted a receipt he said I would have to pay an additional 16% even on top of that. He tried to get me to sign a blank work order, which I luckily did not, as I was unaware at that time of the troubles that can get you into.. I spoke with John the next day and he said a sprinkler went off in his shop and our repair job would take a little longer. He sent me pictures to corroborate this. When I went to pick up my car, the job was done horribly and John and his friend were watching me inspect it through the window. They had guilt and anger all over their faces and it was obvious they knew the job was done poorly but were hoping I wouldn't notice. I confronted John and pointed out that there was paint chipping in multiple places, a water drop pattern in the paint/clear coat all over the door (would not rub off, it was in the paint!), and brush marks etched into the door (again, it was in the paint/clear coat itself!). He became extremely hostile and was aggressively shouting and swearing at me, calling my car a piece of shit and saying I am an idiot. He threatened to "bang my car" If I didn't pay him immediately. After much back and forth and me calling the police, he agreed to repair the damages properly this time and said it would be done in two hours. After a few hours he calls to say the repair is complete. When we get there, low and behold there is still paint chipping. More arguing, name calling, and hostility from John. In the end we pay for his "repair work", since this is the only way to actually get your car back, and he again says he will make the car "better than new" if we aren't happy in 10 days. As we are pulling out we realize the lock on the door he was painting is now broken. The dealership (definitely not going back to John!) says the door lock actuator needs to be replaced. Summary: 1. Acted like a scammer from the beginning. Always exaggerating and making unrealistic promises and guarantees 2. Goes back on even the simple guarantees, his word means nothing. He even lied about his mother dying on the day of one of our encounters, and numerous other ridiculous things. 3. Knowingly did a poor job (the door looked worse after his first repair attempt than before we even brought it in..) and tried to intimidate me into accepting it. 4. Became extremely hostile and aggressive, shouting and swearing, when I refused to accept his poor work. 5. He even somehow managed to cause mechanical damage to my car, whether done purposefully or due to his lack of skills, I am not sure.
