You can trust anything they say and what they say has got your best interest at heart. We have been using them for the last ten years and on more than one occasion they have given us advice that has saved us hundreds of dollars. Just this past week my new Honda CRV was in a slight accident with a truck. I had lots of scratches and scuff from the front to the rear on the side of the CRV. The collision place wanted $3000 to fix it. I was beside myself. I went to speak to A&M and Yanni told me to speak to Jay. I brought the car back to Jay and he said leave it with me I want to try something. At 5 o'clock that evening Yanni called me and said your car is ready. I said oh how did it come out and he said you'll have to see it for yourself. I asked what this would cost me and he said $250. So my wife drove me there the next day. I looked at the car and I couldn't believe it. It looked almost brand new. Of course there were a few scuffs on the rubberized portions but the car paint itself was almost immaculate. I went in and asked him what he did and he said He had a special compound that he put on and then buffed out and then touched it up a little. Well let me tell you this car is immaculate and they saved me over $2000. That's just one of the times that they've helped us out. There are many other times. Once we called from Florida to ask their advice before we had a dealer do some work on our car. They told what the dealer should and should not do. Of course the dealer wanted to do the things Yanni and Jay said we should not have done and they were right again! Saved many hundreds of dollars again. You can trust these guys and you should use them!!! You will never regret it and you'll have two new great friends to boot.

They changed parts that did not need to be changed because they could not diagnose simple problems. I am by no means a mechanic and I found a simple frayed wire after they replaced $500 in parts. The mechanics learned on the job, no training whatsoever. They are cheaper then most places but in this case it more than "you get what you pay for", you will not get a proper repair and this is having used them for a few years (I shamefully thought I could save a few dollars). I had tires mounted and they couldn't even get the valves right, 3 of 4 are leaking air. They have been sued a few times by the town for improper disposal, but that is neither here nor there. When I had the nerve to ask him about these extra charges he suddenly became irate, belligerent and nasty. Then we went outside to pick up the car and noticed the front hubcap was missing. When asked about this he played dumb and claimed it was missing when I dropped the car off - refusing outright to replace it. We took his word for it but later found it lying in the area behind his garage. When we came back to the shop 2 minutes later, he had already closed up and gone home. We live out of town so had to find someone else to help us with it. Normally would assume it was a mistake but after dealing with this character it was clear that he was lying to cover up for losing it. Do yourself a favor and stay away.

When I saw the great reviews for this place I decided I have to go to this one even though there were 10 other mechanics closer to my house. As a young college student who doesn't know ANYTHING about cars and hates having to go to mechanics, I was able to feel at ease both times I went to this place. The staff is super friendly, funny, and informative. I went back a second time to fix something else in my car and they remembered me right away which I thought was wonderful. I saved $$$ both times I went and didn't feel like I was getting scammed into overpaying for service. Safe to say that I have found my go to place to go to for my car. Let me tell you a story about J&M Auto and it's proprietor, Jagdish Patel. My family and I were…read morereturning home after a long, hot weekend of kids soccer in the Philly area when my 2016 Jeep started overheating on the New York Thruway in Nanuet. It was late Sunday afternoon on a 95-degree day and we were 200 miles from home. I found a way to get my wife and two boys a ride home, and I checked into a local hotel while I figured out what to do with my broken car. In the morning, I was waiting at the shop when it opened at 8. This was a classic emergency situation -- I'm stranded far from home -- where a shop could have totally put me over a barrel and diagnosed all sorts of problems, and I'm sure many would have. Not J&M. They got my car in immediately, and had expertly diagnosed the problem (a failed radiator cooling fan) within an hour. Jay, who is as friendly as can be, explained the situation and said his local parts folks did not have a replacement unit. However, another distributor in New Jersey did have an OEM replacement and have it in Nanuet by 10:30 or 11. Jay's mechanic had to literally tear the entire front of my car apart to replace the bad fan. Jay texted me photos. Then they had the repair done by 1:30 p.m. The price was totally reasonable and what I would expect, and Jay even took pains to show me how much he paid for the part. This is a business you can trust, in my experience. My only regret is that Jay's shop is not located in my town because, if it were, he would be working on all my cars, all the time. I felt so lucky to be stranded in that place and to have found his little shop. Thank you, Jay!
