Our Tesla was damaged when someone crashed into the front end and was towed to this body shop, which we had not previously used. They took over four weeks to repair the vehicle and when the car was ready they explained that they intended to charge us over $600 if we wanted to pay by credit card (the only alternative suggested was for us to go to the bank and get them a cashiers check). It turned out there is a sign in the store that says there is an unusually large fee associated with paying by credit card. Our car was dropped off by a tow truck and I hadn't been in the office before the car was finished. The extra fee was not indicated on the estimate. In the end, we were able to sign over the insurance check and avoid the fee. Still, the fee they charge customers to use credit cards is higher than the cost to them of credit card processing; which doesn't seem exactly right. read more

They do good work, and I'm sure for the average driver/owner, their work is find. But their attention to detail for those of us who are very fond of our cars and meticulous in their care (esp in driving a premium brand) is just ok. I had to return my car for another week to fix errors in the repair (paint defects, alignment gaps, etc.), and even then - they failed to fully address all issues, and thus, didn't meet my expectations (I'll may bring it to another shop to address the issues, but may not). Management is REALLY good - and SUPER, SUPER friendly (Tom, John), but don't expect diligent replies to emails (calling is probably better). I really, really, really wanted to give these guys a top notch review, but unfortunately, I cannot. I have a premium car, and they claim to be premium repair specialists, but I am disappointed in the short-cuts and the lack of attention to detail. I get that it is a business and it's all about doing things efficiently and "moving" repairs quickly, but then don't hold yourselves out to high-end/premium/luxury car repair. Would I go back? I can't speak highly enough about Tom, John and the crew at Tedesco. I had a damaged rear window on my TESLA Model 3 I needed replaced. Fortunately my insurance covered it, but because the car rear glass is different than most, the insurance company was confused on how to handle. Tom & John were very patient and helpful we finally got all worked out. The job was done quickly and professionally and when I picked it up it was clean inside and out. There were some minor scratches on my Toyota Camry 2019 which were not noticed at the time of inspection. When I visited the body shop I was told they are not covered by the insurance Company. Had they informed me earlier about the same I could have contacted the insurance company or might have paid out of pocket. They have no communication with me for first 10 days. I mean one of the poorest example. They exhausted my all 30 rental days before they handed over the vehicle back to me. read more

My car was hit while parked, and after some research on nearby auto shops, Tedesco Auto Body seemed like the perfect fit. The car was towed there on 12/20 and it was going to be worked on shortly after. I received a message a few days after with a notice that the car was ready for pick up. When we went to pick up the car, Tom Padilla, the service coordinator that I had been in touch with the whole time, had us sign the discharge papers and gave us the key. The car was parked across the street and nobody even came out to inspect it with us. As we went around to the driver side, the car had a big dent and scratch that even touched the rim of the back tire. We rushed back inside to ask what happened, yet nobody even went out to see what we were talking about. Instead, they just pulled up some pictures they took on 12/24 that included this damage (days after the initial drop off). They blamed the tow company for the damage saying the car was already in that condition but made false promises about getting it fixed for us because they failed to report the incident when it happened. "We'll get you on a rental... we'll fix it up for you... you've seen our reviews; we make our customers happy." They said they were going to call the insurance and try to file a claim, but said it's best if I do it too, so I did. However, once the investigation began, they failed to respond to several communication requests initiated by the tow company in order to conduct the investigation. I also called several times and was never able to get answers. In the end, the tow company couldn't admit liability because Tedesco Auto Body refused to provide them with simple answers. Their absence and lack of response just reinforces the fact that the vehicle was damaged under their custody. What's sad is that the damage they made was most costly than the one they fixed. read more

This is the most amazing and competent auto repair shop I've ever had to use and I've used a few! My brand new Tesla had some damage due to a swerve to avoid an animal on the mountain road as I returned home only 5 weeks after picking up my new Model 3. The scrapes didn't look like much at first, but the amount of parts that had to be replaced caused the car to spend more time in the shop than I expected. The result was "perfection" and that that was most important .. The staff is amazing and knowledgeable as well as a preferred Tesla Trained auto body shop. They did everything right and kept me informed along the way. My dear Scarlett is still doing well and I am hopeful we will not have another encounter that would require repair! read more

Earlier in the year I was involved in a hit and run in a local retail store's parking lot (front driver's side clipped). Long story short, I made the decision to use Tedesco Auto Body for the repairs as they have an Allstate Insurance Adjuster located right next door - nice and simple. Tom and Ralph were the consummate professionals from start to finish and communication was spot on throughout the repair process - I even received text messages giving me an update every few days on their progress. All in all, the car looked brand new and this was one of the most professional experiences I've ever had. Now fast forward to yesterday. Based on my last experience, I didn't hesitate to use Tedesco again after my wife swiped a fallen bike rack, scraping the back/right door panel. She called, spoke to the lady that works there, she remembered us, and ordered the parts right away. I brought the car to them earlier than scheduled (they fit me in given the parts had arrived and I had the day off work), and got to their shop at around 2:00pm. Tom was at the desk, pleasantries were exchanged, he took a quick look at the damage and confirmed what my wife was told: "should take about an hour and a half, you can wait if you'd like". I'd come prepared with headphones and Tom also handed over the TV remote should I want to watch the news. At about 2:55pm I saw my car being reversed out of the shop and being parked outside. Tom walked back in with the keys and said we're all done - and in just under and hour - I was thrilled. Yet again they had gone above and beyond. I'd checked the invoice they'd printed (and my wife had prepaid over the phone earlier), and the breakdown was as follows: Parts = $436.67 Labor @ $75/hr x 1.6 hours = $120 Material, shop = $8 Total before tax = $546.67 I thanked Tom for the fast turnaround, but I asked if we could adjust the labor cost as it took them 1 hour to complete the repair, not the 1.6 hours per the invoice - a difference of $45. This is where it went downhill. I very calmly and professionally explained to Tom that I was being asked to pay for 1.6 hours of labor for 1 hour of actual labor - he immediately pushed back citing that this is how the system calculates it. I called him out as I know they manually inputted the 1.6 hours as part of the estimate. He tried pushing back again, now his voice becoming louder trying to speak over me. The math was simple: they charge $75 an hour for labor and they were trying to charge me $120 for that hour of labor. Tom started to show his true colors when his demeanor turned from professional to sarcasm asking, "so what do you want us to do, drive it around the streets for another half hour?", seemingly assuming burning up that additional half hour would warrant the extra $45. He also argued that he "managed the front of the shop" and "couldn't help me", "we've never been asked to refund". I was done with the arguing and gave Tom 2 options: refund the $45 they didn't earn or I'll simply file a charge back with my credit card company. Red-faced, Tom went in the back for Ralph. Off the bat Ralph was on the defensive, saying they'd never had a customer ask for money off an invoice - I asked him how many customers must have been overcharged and Ralph/Tom never suggested the invoice be fixed, there was no way I was the first. It got better when Ralph started to try and justify the extra money (important you understand that he was trying to justify the extra $45, knowing only too well that it was EXTRA): - "we got you in early and even bumped you in line to get it fixed - I should never have done that" - "I did the work myself", suggesting that his labor is more expensive than that of his employees' - was he trying to tell me that the extra $45 was his tip? I stood my ground and then Tom jumped in again with more abuse; I told Tom I'd done with him and now I was dealing with the owner. This is when he cursed and walked away after Ralph tried calming him down. Before too long, Ralph acquiesced and realized that I wasn't leaving until this was remedied. He told me he didn't know how to refund a card on the machine and give me cash instead. I'd returned because of my first positive encounter but, after this, I have no intention of giving them any future business or referrals, there are plenty of body shops around town. To be clear, my 1 star review is based on how they handled my invoice adjustment request: lying, arguing, sarcasm and cursing. Their work is top notch, but their customer service skills are despicable. Tedesco's 2008 AutocheX Premier Achiever Award has clearly lost its luster as neither Tom nor Ralph know how to diffuse a situation or treat an unsatisfied customer with any professionalism or respect. read more

The owner and staff are great to deal with. It's conveniently located very close to a car rental agency when you need to rent a car while yours is in the shop. The repairs were very well done and delivered earlier than the original given date. The location is clean and professional. Original review, 10/1/16. They cancelled my appointment and wouldn't re-schedule me for two months... I had an appointment to have my window repaired. My fiancee and I re-arranged our schedules for the appointment. When we arrived, Tom told me he was "a man down," and wouldn't honor the appointment. He then sent us on a wild goose chase in the rain to another shop with whom they sometimes work, but that shop knew nothing about knew nothing about it, and couldn't accommodate me. When I arrived back at Tedesco, Tom told me he wouldn't schedule me for another 2 months. When I objected and pointed out that I should be "next in line" rather than last, he told me that my job was too small to interest him and that I should go find another shop. I emailed the owner and never heard back. Apparently, he also doesn't care about customer service. Update, 1/4/17. Three months later the owner, Ralph, who wasn't even there at the time, posts a response claiming my "version" of events isn't correct and he knows what actually happened?? Perhaps he is clairvoyant. Or simply omniscient. Most telling of all, he never addressed my concerns personally in response to the private email I sent to him but, instead, used a public forum to proclaim his fabricated "justification." Surprise? I personally emailed Ralph before posting my review. Also, I didn't just "come by," I had an appointment. How else would Ralph be able to retrospectively ascertain the make of my car and the scheduled repair 3 months later? If the time of year caused the shop to be too busy to accommodate me, I shouldn't have been given an appointment for which both myself and my fiancee re-arranged our schedules. If Rosedale Auto was called and couldn't help me, why was I sent there? And why, when I got there, did they know nothing about the situation? As for how Tom treated me and what "never" happens at his shop, Ralph wouldn't know because he wasn't there Yes, "We all have times and things in our life that we have to arrange and even rearrange," and that's exactly what Tedesco should have done, but adamantly refused to do. read more

Ralph and Tom, thank you for your tremendous service. As you may recall, my '17 Tesla S was involved in an accident requiring, among other things, a new door panel, sideview mirror, painting, clear coat, etc. Since Teslas have intricate sensors, all had to be tested for perfect performance - while not fully tested, I have no doubt they'll perform as new. Throughout the process, your team kept me well informed, were very patient with my questions, interacted with the insurance company's representatives, and were on top of Tesla to be certain that all parts arrived on a timely basis. As promised, my Tesla was ready to be picked up on the estimated date. When I arrived, my car was beautifully detailed - inside and out (and, I received a key fob wrap and mints were waiting for me inside my car). Tedesco's pride and professionalism was thoroughly evident in their work - it was as if they had repaired (and detailed) their own or a family member's car. Third time will not be a charm. I was initially referred to Tedesco Auto Body by a trusted family friend. My experience was so good the first time around, that I returned after another unfortunate accident. This time my experience wasn't so pleasant. 1. Updates on car status was not given as it was first time around. 2. Repairs and follow-up thereafter were not completed as promised. 3. Additional days of rental car use as a result of their incomplete work was not covered as promised. I later received a call from the owner of Tedesco, apologizing for all that had transpired and assuring me that all will be taken care of and that he would follow up. I never heard from them again. The rental charges expected for them to handle was $150. Tedesco has received approximately $15,000 for repairs to my car. You would think that that warrants a certain level of customer service. These guys are awesome! Such great customer service. I had damage to my car from my husband backing into something smh... so I needed to pay out of pocket. I told these guys what happened and they immediately did their best to help me fix it thoroughly and affordably. They didn't price gouge me like another place in new Rochelle tried to. They looked at the damage and were very honest with me about what they did and did not have to replace. When it came time to bring the car in, I made an appointment for the day after new years day. Due to the holiday, when I dropped the car off tedesco told me my part wasn't in yet. I NEED my car for work, no options there. They took great care of me and got me a loaner car on them so that they could keep my car and fix it the next day when the part came in. When i picked my car up, they had even washed and cleaned the car inside and out!Very down to earth. Amazing rapport. They don't rush or pressure you. Feels like going to family. This place is great. I didn't have an extensive experience with them, but their help was invaluable to me. I got a few small but noticeable scratches on the bumper of my fairly new car. They said I could spend $800 to repaint the entire bumper, or I could get touch up paint to fix the scratches and wax off the rest for about 5 bucks. I was able to get the touch up paint and went back there within 1/2 an hour and Greg fixed the scratches right up. The car looks awesome, and (more importantly) I no longer feel sad looking at the scratches bumper. I will definitely come back here if I ever need proper auto body work, and would recommend Tedesco to everyone I know! read more

I have been hit by other cars two times over the past 3 years and I have taken my cars to Tedesco to get my cars repaired. We wanted to share our fantastic experience we had at Tedesco Auto Body. From the beginning everyone went over and above to make the customer understand the process and timing. Ralph took photos to get the estimate initiated. Tom helped keep my wife in the know throughout the process. They handled the insurance claim adjusters, the rental car company and made the process simple for the customer. They had an automated system to keep the customer informed which sent updates throughout the repair. That was just the customer service portion. My wife picked up the car and she barely recognized it. The repair was super high quality. My wife needed the car by a certain date and they delivered. They even made a special trip to add a finishing piece because my wife needed the car early. No shortcuts only quality work at Tedesco.
