We picked up our car from this Midas location yesterday evening after they completed the almost $4,000.00 worth of work they told us the car needed. A little over an hour after we had the car, it started beeping and a new warning light came on. My husband called Midas first thing this morning. He was told that the car just needed to reset itself and there was nothing they could really do. He was also told that the current warning code was already there and showed up on the diagnostic test they completed. This not only is a lie, it contradicts what they said about the car needing to reset itself. If this were true, why wasn't it included in the work they said needed to be done? At this very moment, my husband is stuck on the side of the road waiting on AAA because the car stopped on him. We took it to Midas because it was running hot. It never stopped on us. This happened only after they worked on it. Having car trouble is already a major headache. Now we have to figure out our transportation options and what to do next when a mechanic takes advantage of you. Learn from our mistake. Do not bring your car here! read more

Went in for an oil change and brake inspection. They did my oil change, but the service manager forgot to have them do the brake inspection. They had to pull it back in to the shop and take another hour doing that. And he got irritated with me like it was my fault or something. Then came to discover when I went to put new brake pads on the front that they had gotten carried away with the pneumatic wrench and tore the hell out of the wheel stud and lugnut, cross-threading it on really hard. read more

Went in on 5/1/25 for an oil change on my Kia soul. while slightly busy Steve and his team were incredibly kind and effective - it took about an hour for my oil to be complete. I would definitely recommend getting an oil change here as they did not attempt to charge me for any additional things (as we all know some certain a shops they try to hit you with "you need new breaks") or course this could depend on your car's condition but me going in with my 100k mile Kia soul and only coming out with oil should be a good indicator or how your future trip might go! While this may be a good location and one of the top in the nation as they claim, I just haven't had much luck with service here. I've taken 1 vehicle for service for muffler repair (took 2 1/2 days to complete) and have attempted to take another vehicle for AC service (had appt for 9a and upon arrival would be 3hrs just to get car into bay to look at!!!) then rescheduled AC service only to get a call the day before stating their AC machine was not working! Such and amazing shop, the worker there Jay was such a nice man and walked me through the process and made it even seem as a fun little adventure, when questioned about problem of my vehicle he talked to me about the issues that I was having and how he had a solution to the problem better than any other shop offered. All in all together a really good business and I felt like I was at a friends place and not a corporate business. 10/10 would do again. read more

So I needed brakes and oil changes on both vehicles. I'm always afraid that they will not be truthful with me. The manager I think Kevin is amazing. He told me that I need pads on the one car and nothing on the other. They did oil changes on both. They seemed to have a great relationship with all customers. They keep to the time promised as well. This Midas location is spectacular! I had a flat tire in the morning and was able to get an appointment the same day.By the time the tow truck came it was too late so I ended up not getting it repaired the same day but I was able to get the tire off the car and I dropped it off the next morning, as soon as we walked in the gentleman in the front helped us out and even though they were backed up they still got the tire finished within an hour! I had never been in and had a coupon for a free oil change so I brought my car in for the service and Dan set me up for a same day appt. Before finishing up he showed me my filters (they were so dirty, it was terrifying) and he pointed out that I had oil leaking from my right rear shock and would need to get those replaced as well. I had them do the oil change and replace the filters, today, and I'll be back in for my new shocks. I couldn't ask for more efficient or friendly service. Thank you! read more

Worst experience, buyer beware!! I paid over 5k in repairs for my 2011 Malibu and this included brakes, wheel bearings, and a tire rod and some other little things. When I still had same noises and issues for several weeks after repairs I took it back where I was told they didnt see or hear anything. I then drove it to a Chevy dealer where I was shown my car still had manufacturer wheel bearings installed and the tire rod was not installed correctly. Along with that the alignment was off which I also PAID Midas to do. I had photos and videos and to show Midas but they did not pay for anything and then was told mechanic who worked on my vehicle was no longer there due to issues. I had to then pay again for the repairs to be done properly at the dealership. I filed a formal complaint with the corporate office and the BBB and they responded to nothing. I just came back from getting an oil change. Mechanically speaking, the experience was just fine, as you would expect. The oil change got done, everything that was supposed to be checked was checked, and estimates were given for repairs that need to be taken care of in the near future, such as new tires to replace the ones with low treads. I didn't have to wait a long time, and there was a big TV in an air-conditioned room, and magazines to occupy my time. That alone would merit at least 4 stars. I gave 5 because of the guy behind the desk. I won't go into detail, but suffice to say he was beyond wonderful and kind! -- the kind of person that you wish all representatives of retail businesses were. Getting brakes checked at Midas Pickerington and mechanic tried to lift my lowered car up by the polyurethane side kits. I can't catch a break. If they couldn't even get the arms under the car to lift it why did they force it and then lift it up by the side skirts. No common sense at all! What did they do about it, nothing but say we can't work on it. Now what, gonna try the Better Business Bureau but see others here had issues and they never resolved them even through the BBB. Like every other Midas that exists to this day, they told my wife and I that our car would be done in 30-45 minutes for an oil change. We went to lunch, and came back an hour later and the oil had not been changed yet. We waited another hour for the to actually be changed. We leave the Midas and our car started to sputter. Come to find out the next day, they forgot to reattach their vacuum hose. Talk about incompetence in the staff and company. Why don't you vet your mechanics before hiring them. Just a thought. UPDATES BELOW: Terrible stay away!!!!!!!!!! They added a part to my daughter's car without even asking permission! I was witness to the whole event, as I picked her up after dropping off her car and then dropped her off to pick up the car. They said that they would give me a refund of the difference (because I put the charges on my credit card) but it's been two months since I have yet to received a refund still!! Do yourself a favor don't go there!!! UPDATE: The DM Dan says my credit card will be refunded in 3 to 5 business days!! And because they added a part without asking they are willing to fix her car again (because it's still not working right) for free. I will update review after I've seen the refund and the car is fix free of charge!! UPDATE 2: I'm happy to say the DM Dan is a man of his word! I finally got my refund back on my credit card and they fixed my daughters car free of charge! I'm giving them only three stars (initially only a one star review) as this should have never happened and because it took so long for them to correct it! I brought my car in for an oil change. This is my first time in the store. A lady was sitting in the store, obviously waiting for some work being done on her car. After signing my car in and turning over the keys at the desk, I went to sit and wait for my oil change. I said hello to the lady, to be polite, she said hello back. About five minutes later, they brought her car around to the door, parked it. She turned to me with a happy look and said "Oh, look. My car is done already." About 30 minutes later, I was saying the same thing. OK then, fast service is really a welcome change from my previous oil change at a local private shop. Well done, Midas. My husband and I both had our cars worked on there recently. Because it was going to take a while and I was hungry, Travis (the manager) had one of the mechanics chauffeur us to a nearby restaurant to eat - which was so nice! Travis and asst manager Jay were so wonderful and called all their customers by name. They were super busy on that Saturday morning but it certainly did not negatively affect their fantastic customer service! And they had very fair prices for the new tires and new brakes on our cars. read more

A couple months ago, my review would have been different. I had them do a couple oil changes, and all of that was fine - no complaints there. However, recently, my check engine light came on, so I took it back to this Midas. They told me the harness wiring for the knock sensor had melted and I needed a new harness and sensor. After the repair, the check engine light came back on after about 20 miles. Took it back to here. They told me, after several days, that I needed a new ECM. After about another 3-4 days, they STILL had not gotten me a quote for said repair, so I picked it up and took my car to a dealership. The dealership had to fix the wiring and replace the knock sensor. Yes, they had to re-do the work that Midas had performed. And, I did not need a new ECM. I am trying to get my money refunded right now. For minor things like oil changes, I think they're fine. But, not for extensive repairs. They seem to be understaffed, and it seems to have changed managers multiple times recently. read more

Easy to make appointment for installation. Smooth procedure the manager was very accommodating to meet my schedule restrictions. They did the overall check on my vehicle and no trying to up sale and listed things that will need attention in the future. I would recommend them for service. definitely will not be using Midas of Pickerington Ohio anymore for my service needs. gave them two weeks notice to order tires even had a day and time for service. i show up on our agreed time and pay then told my tires were not in to come back later. I couldn't due to having to work wouldn't be able to till later in the week. I call the next day to see if they have come in get informed he canceled the ticket since I wasn't coming back till later in the week. but can have them next day so I go in on a Friday finally my tires are in then get informed they can't mount my tires in my rim due to they need to stretch the tires. this is a new one for me never knew you had to do that. also get told they broke off my tire sensor band. I told to come back couple days later so I do and ask for a refund and then get told it's my fault that they were waiting on me to call and arrange a day for the tires. so now I'm out my time and gas and the cost of a new tire band. read more

They worked so hard to make sure that everything went smoothly, even when the insurance agency was being difficult. They put us, as the customer, first at all times. Thank you very much to the manager - Travis. I got myself into a bind last weekend changing the oil for the first time in a used car that I bought for my daughter in college. The oil filter was stuck on and I couldn't get a good hold on it any way I tried. I finally punctured a hole in it so I gave up. I drove to Midas (in another car) because it's the closest place to my house to see if I could bring it to them to remove the filter for me. Travis told me not to because even if I filled it up with oil and drove straight there I could ruin the engine. He instead trusted me with one of the shop's tools that they use to remove oil filters. It worked great and I returned the tool to him within about 15 minutes. I read the reviews on this location and see a lot of bad ones. I think those boil down to two reasons. One is they just can't get enough quality workers who care about their work (which is a problem everywhere in today's world). The other reason is corporate policy that forces the shops to do things that get as much money as possible from customers. No matter where you take your car you can find a good, honest, hardworking person who just loves cars and wants to help. But the national chains (Midas, NTB, Monroe, etc) have hard to reach quotas and policies that maximize their own profits. They work their employees to death and you get so much turnover. read more

While the service managers were not rude, I am giving Midas 1 star because after$1500 and multiple trips between the Hill road and Livingston location, The air in my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder does not work. In June I took my car into the Hill road location for an oil change and to get my air charged. They told me I needed a new compressor and it would be about $1300. I brought it back 2 weeks later, paid a little over $1400 and left with a working air conditioner. About 3 weeks later it stopped working so I returned to the Hill road location. They said their master tech was on vacation and sent me to The Livingston location. They replaced my compressor I left and about 3 weeks later it stopped working again. I took it back to Livingston ( mind you each visit they have your car for the full work day and the first time at Livingston they had it 2 days.) this time they say I have a leak in the rear condenser and it would be about $400. I took it back to the Hill road location to request a refund, they asked me to let them look at it again. I did and they said the leak would cost about$800 to fix. So I speak to Dan, the district manager who says they will fix it at the Livingston branch and comp me for the recharge bringing the cost down to about $280. I make an appointment, take it in then at the end of the day they call and tell me the part they ordered didn't fit and I must have hit a rock because now I also have a leak in the front! I don't do any off-reading, only making normal trips to work and run kids around. They didn't give me a price and said that Dan would call me and let me know what they could do. I've followed up a few times but after 3 weeks I have yet to receive a call back. To summarize, the price to fix initially was not a deal and the techs were not able to fix the problem. And to add insult to injury, the last visit left the handle to my trunk loose. I would not recommend. read more

I hate to do it, but it is necessary. I took my car here for an oil change & left with a car that kept stalling. Mind you this is after I left my car here for an oil change that was quoted to take 30-45 minutes, which in reality took 2 hours. After dealing with driving a car that stalls at every stop, my dad takes the car back. Turns out they left a hose unhooked to one of the filters in the engine. They were apologetic, but no offer of refunding money for the oil change as a result of our trouble or problems. The manager is super nice, but things seemed to fall apart when he left to run some errands. Endless to say I'm not happy & i will avoid Midas from now on. read more

Took my daughter's car here for an oil change and new radiator hose. Had to return the car because the car began leaking oil after the change. They fixed the oil leak. The radiator kept a slow leak, but kept getting worse. Oil light came on I checked the oil which looked like syrup! Radiator was empty! Returned the car to be told the oil need to changed again an engine flushed (no explanation as to why the oil looked as is it did). Now, the heater doesn't work and thermostat housing is damaged (overheated engine) because they did not fix radiator. They give me a $684 estimate to fix those with no mention of how they plan to fix radiator problem! Follow Up: Dan the DM says bring the car back and cuts the price to repair their damage to just over $315, now here is where the story gets almost comical driving home Speedometer doesn't work, ABS light on and airbag light on. Wasn't on when dropped off!!! Now, they are demanding a diagnosis fee to find out what is wrong even though all this occurred while they were in possession of the car!!!! This Katz franchise has had 234 complaints filed against it according to BBB, which gave the entire franchise a B due to the high number of complaints and the way Attourney and CEO Katz settled the complaints against his franchise. read more

So, I have never cared to write a Yelp review...until now. My car's check engine light came on the other day, so I took it in to this Midas location. Boy, was that a mistake. After 4 hours of "diagnosis", they sent me an invoice for nearly $2000 (I have a battered 2005 dodge neon; not worth that). They said the error codes pertained to the timing belt and an oil sensor (the latter wasn't a huge issue), and they noticed that my outer tie rod had "play" in it. So I said what the heck, I gotta drive it to Florida in a couple months. I drop $1000 on the repair. I drive away a day AFTER they tell me it will be ready (apparently this is typical of this place), and after about 20 miles of driving, my car jolts, the check engine light comes back on, and my car sputters into the Midas parking lot. With looks of absolute confusion, they take me on a test drive (because, you knows I have no idea what I'm talking about), and determine that there is "something definitely wrong" (ya think??). So they say they will run a diagnosis and will call me. (Sidebar: they never call, they email me an estimate that will give me sticker shock and then I have to call...horrible business practice.) So they email me an estimate for another $300 repair. I call, and the guy tells me that there is another error code that tells me I need to replace the cam and crankshaft sensors. While they had "recommended" this to me, they said it wasn't absolutely necessary. So now, after $1000 and 3 days of stress, they find the ACTUAL PROBLEM and want to charge me another $300 for it (oh wait, the manager said he would "help me out" and knock off labor so it is another $175. Big whoop.) DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS MIDAS! I have a call into this guy's boss to really get this taken care of. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

Absolutely horrible! Very nice to your face but such scam artists. Took my 1999 Camry for a $170 muffler repair in April 2016. An hour after sitting there the manager says "Mr. C. we found your oil leak!" I knew there was one so it didn't surprise me. As I looked there, I took a few pics, turned on my I phone light and noticed the tech had cut through the oil pan. WELL NO CRAP YOU FOUND THE LEAK! He tried to pass it off on me saying it's upwards of a $700 repair. He knew exactly what he was doing to cover his techs mistake and scam me out of my hard earned money!! They have now given me a detailed explanation of everything that is wrong with the vehicle and I greatly appreciate them doing this for me.
