I got my car towed up there to get my serpentine belt fixed. He I dreaded that I needed to do a diagnostics test, charged me 120 that i was told would go towards the total of being fixed when I called. Upon arrival, i was told different. He is very rude and doesn't know how to let anybody talk. He talks over them. Told him I would be back with the money within a couple days and was told I wouldn't be charged a storage fee. Following morning got a call asking what I was wanting to do cause hes not a storage unit so I Got my serpentine belt fixed and retrieved my car back. My car had the engine light on and I panicked. I called around town for someone to give me a diagnostic before the weekend as it was Friday afternoon. I called One Call and heard "Sure, just bring it in and we'll take care of you on the spot! I showed up and true to his word, Matt the owner, saw me immediately. He showed me to the air conditioned customers lounge and hospitably offered me a K cup. 20 minutes later he comes in and tells me that my engine light is on because of a relay problem and goes to the trouble of resetting all my dashboard lights. I am a 20 year old girl and obviously i know that at first glance people will up charge me but not at one call auto mechanic. I usually go to the Honda dealership and I usually am very confused with everything they say and I know I am up charged there. My brother had told me to go there because of his positive experience and right when i got there the owner, Matt and I had chatted about everything wrong with the car. He did a diagnostic and found a number of things wrong that needed fixed and replaced. When he was explaining to me what was wrong he showed me under the car explaining in depth what needed fixed which was so so helpful. I had my vehicle towed there after my 2017 Nissan Rogue would not drive forward or in reverse. I was not sure what it was and couldn't not find a mechanic who would even look at the vehicle due to parts shortage. Matt and everyone in the shop were great, he asked questions to get to the root cause of the problem, it ended being the slip differential which was damaged by me driving on the spare tire. I got a flat and had to put on the spare to get home which was 23 miles from my house. He diagnosed the issue and called me to discuss the repair. Even with the shortage in parts due to Covid-19, took less than a week for the repair. The best part is that I got a warranty for the repairs as well as did not have to pay the ridiculous amount that the dealership quoted. I came to One Call Auto Mechanic to have my starter replaced on my vehicle. I came based on my previous experience where Matt did an inspection for me and I appreciated it. I arrived to drop my car and new starter off, and when I told him about having my axles replaced (as a reference from our previous interaction) he began a rant about my decision to not bring the axle work to him, and how he would've done it much cheaper (I guess as a way of scolding me). He continued his rant about how customers (including me) bring him the 'hard' repairs (such as my starter replacement) instead of the 'easy' repairs. Once we got passed this he took my keys and starter to begin the work. I soon get a call from Matt that he found a crack in my catalytic converter (and sends me a photo) so that I wouldn't think that he did it (which I understood). He then asked me "who told you that you needed tie rods" and where I got my battery & how much it cost (seemingly looking for something to sell me) and then pivoted to pushing a brake pad job on me. Still wondering about the crack, I asked him how the crack can be repaired and he responded that he doesn't do that (so much for 'one call'). I was still wondering how this impacts my starter replacement, and it took a while for him to tell me that he's not going to replace my starter, and pushed again for a response about the brake job. When I asked him some questions about the brake job, Matt began another bellyache about the money I spent at other service shops and how I could've saved money with him and I'm asking a lot of questions (despite him doing virtually all the talking, and even saying that his wife tells him that he lectures customers too much which may be a reason why he loses customers). When I pushed for clarity about the brakes, he responded that he's sure that I didn't ask all of these questions of the other service shops that I spent 'all this money with', and then insults me by saying that by asking continued questions I could risk losing the relationship with the mechanic. I then said no to everything, shut down the conversation and went & retrieved my vehicle. The next day I went to Buckeye Complete Auto Care who replaced my starter without issues at a CHEAPER price than Matt quoted me (without me ever telling Buckeye about Matt's quote). I will NEVER return to or recommend anyone to One Call Auto Mechanic. read more

This shop makes you put down a $60 deposit to look at your car, then under no circumstance will they let you use it. I had a check up with nothing wrong with my car, so we signed a document saying I could use the $60 on a later date. I called them a few months later to order a door handle and install it and was told I wouldn't be refunded for the parts, only the labor. Naturally I bought the parts and called to use my deposit to install the door handles I bought and was turned away AGAIN because "that kind of labor isn't included." It doesn't say anything remotely close to that on the contract we signed. This is a crooked business model and will NEVER recommend anyone to come to this place. read more

The only mechanics that I trust!! These guys go above and beyond in their honest diagnostics and excellent services everytime. It seems like they are always busy and have many cars to work on and they still go the extra mile on every vehicle they work on. The last time I was there for something else and they cleaned my front brake for free because they thought it would help with the ticking noise (and it did) for free because that's the kind of mechanics they are! This time i went in because my check engine light was on and when I got there it turns out it was because my tire pressure was low... I was fully willing to pay the 80 for diagnostics (he helps me out a lot) but Matt is a really really great guy and laughed saying it was no big deal. Seriously, go here! I have been doing research about Mechanics for my clutch problem I will call these guys and give it a shot, lets see what happens. Alright so I called these guys and tried to get some help with my clutch issue their description on how to fix the problem and how they charge very confusing they don't seem to be communicating very clear with customers. So I never decided to do business with this Merchant they seem to have been around for a while here however the shop is very small and I just don't trust the people here and the demeanor or so it seemed they take pride in what they do but it just wasn't a fit for me. read more

One Call saved me when I came to Columbus from out of state for an event and my catalytic converter was sawed off in the hotel parking lot. Not only did they take the time to look through all the damage and give me a full list, but also showed me the damage myself while explaining everything clearly. They double checked with me before everything that needed to be done including sourcing the part and the pricing up front. I was fully expecting the repair to take multiple days but they had my car ready quickly. There were a couple other things they noticed that I ended up needing and went with the repair on as well - brakes and calipers - after again being shown the wear and tear on them. I never felt forced into these additional services nor did I feel that they were unnecessary at any point. The One Call team really did their best to make sure my car was safe for my 600+ mile trip home. All in all it cost exactly as much as I was quoted up front again with no surprises and I felt that the cost was reasonable between how much work was needed ( a full piping and wiring repair on the catalytic ) plus brakes and calipers. They even checked for a transmission issue my sensors were shooting off about but found that it ended up being potentially nothing (though that I should check on it later at my home mechanic). Additionally, they had been recommended to me by another friend who was at the same event getting repairs on her own car (regular maintenance). Between what she told me about her own experiences, and having seen them speaking to someone else about car repairs in the office, I felt rather confident about the reputation of the other reviews I read online. Because of them and their work I was able to get back home on time without any issues. Highly recommended and have already recommended them to other friends of mine who live in the local area. read more

I actually stared out at a different mechanic; I needed new breaks and rotors. I found a shop called Hometown Service Center, I noticed they had good reviews and they were close to my work so I just went there. They quoted me $1,300. I was shocked, but I don't know much about cars. I told them I wanted to wait and they were so rude, and then charged me $50 for diagnostics, something they said they wouldn't do. I then called ONE CALL AUTO at 614-848-9666. I told them I just got an estimate and I was wondering if I could compare. He asked what the estimate was for and the price. He was shocked too! He said for me to come in and he probably could do it for half. Once I got there I received an estimate for my front and back brakes and rotors, and a fluid flush and something with my calipers (flush and calipers was not on my list from Hometown) for... $580 before tax! What? That's less than half. One Call Auto was also very clean and the owner was the person at the desk. And when I picked it up the owner Matt told me my oil was low and said he topped it off no charge. He also walked me over to my car and showed me the parts. I also told him I didn't know what calipers were, so he took the time to show me and explain it. This place is named well, you really only have to make one call. read more

Went to one call with a broken exhaust pipe. The pipe was broken between resonator and muffler. Quoted me $250+. Went to another place and got it done within 20 min. for $60. Their business model is based on quotes from other Auto repair chains. They keep telling, if you can get a quote from some other place, we will do it for you for lesser. So if other places are trying to rip you off, one call will rip you off just a little lesser than them, but still rip you off. If you try to communicate with them and try to talk sense, they will threaten you. With these experiences, I cannot trust them anymore. read more

So I'm providing an update because I am so impressed with Matt. I brought in my other car (Hyundai Sonata) and it had a check engine light on. He told me it was one of 2 things and told me he was going to do the cheaper option since that may fix the issue. A week later, the light comes back on and so I take it back. Since all the other possibilities were handled, he was pretty certain of what it was. However, he told me that since it was an engine issue, it should be under warranty. He personally called Hyundai and confirmed it was covered under warranty and sent me on my way. Unfortunately, since we are the 'technical' second owners (went from father to daughter) so it was not covered. Ridic. FYI to you all, if your Hyundai is 2004 or later, then only 1st owners are covered. Anyway, brought it back to Matt, and he actually told me that he was more expensive than the dealership on this particular item! I told him not to worry since I would rather bring my car to him. He felt so bad he gave me a discount! This guy is awesome. not only does he TURN AWAY business since he knows you can get it for free under warranty, he even price compares and lets you know he's more expensive! What a truly honest guy!
