I've seen commercials about Midas service, but never paid attention to them until now. Tracy is about half way between where I started in San Jose to my home in Sacramento. My radiator cracked and my 2006 Lexus SUV over-heated immediately. I was able to limp to this location and expected to have to stay overnight while they found parts. Instead, they found a new radiator and had the job done in about 5 hours and it cost me less than half of what it would have cost at a dealership. Vehicle runs great. We took my car into this place for a diagnostic and a smoke test. My husband called before and asked if they were able to do these tests and was assured they would be able to test the car the next day. When we dropped off the car a different worker said they didn't do that here. Then a third worker came in and said they would be able to do it. Well, long story short, they never did the requested work and when we asked why, one of the workers copped attitude and said, "we are doing you a favor here." Um, no, we ain't your friend, we are paying you to do this work so there are no favors involved. She was so rude to my husband that he told her to give him our keys back and we took the car somewhere else. I will never go back to this repair shop. In the last 9 months or so, I have two cars that need services and spent about $10,000 (give or take). $6000 for new engine, $2k + for starter and some else. These services are for two different cars. On this last service, the manager gave me a discount of $1100 out the door (it was supposed to be $1385). So great! That is really nice of them, right? NO. When my daughter went and pick up the car at the end of the day, they charge her for $1385. I was working and can't pick it up. So I called the next day and the manager told be she will be there Friday and will handle it. Again I have to work so I came in Saturday. And this all went downhill. Ashley will not honor the $1100 that was quoted to me. And all she have to said is "I don't know anything. I just work here". We went back and forth and finally she got the owner on the phone. The owner tell her to refund me only $200 ( not the full $285). So I walked out without the $200. Because of $85 different, they lost a really good customer that have already spent close to $10,000 in less then a year. I would rather spend more for honesty and integrity from a business else where. Any business that keeps their promises and I will go back and will be their loyal customer. But if they can't even keep their words and then I can't trust them with my car. read more

Midas - Auto Repair Near Me - Tracy, California

My car was not starting and I decided tow it to Midas at Naglee road. After spending $150 on inspection, the Midas owner said the engine computer is burnt our and needs complete replacement with an estimate of $4500 for original parts and $2500 for after market parts. I got suspicious and asked them to give me the part numbers. They refused and said the parts don't have the numbers which I felt was dumb made me suspicious. I called local mechanic on my wife's recommendation as she has seen positive comments about him on FB. I towed my car from Tracy to local mechanics workshop and in 15 mins he video called me and showed the "car started". He said that some of the fuses were burnt and had to be replaced and had to solder the ground wire and the computer system was absolutely fine! Next day he did complete car inspection and fixed it and even drove back the car to my house. Altogether he charged $600 only!!! DON'T GO TO MIDAS! read more

Gave me a break on the price and for things fixed and ready just in time for my trip. I would not take your car here for engine problems. We got a diagnostic for $150 even though we already knew what the issue was, but figured it would be waved when the car was fixed. Basically decided the engine needed a tune up. The next morning we get a call that the spark plugs were too lodged in and the mechanic didn't want to risk it. Fine. Got a discount for the diagnostic to $120, but now I'm a little mad. We just went to a different shop and got them changed within 2 hours and now the car is perfectly fine! Thanks Midas for wasting our time and money. Would not come back here again unless it was a straight emergency. read more

I came in for oil change and it turned out they told me my car's breaks, roller and the hard wares were in terrible shape that I shouldn't be driving it anymore, but the truth is I got a pair of brand new rollers, pads and hardware in Dec. 2019, and I didn't drive my car until March 2020. They quoted me for $985 to change them. This is Robbing! I don't recommend this place AT ALL unless you enjoy robbing. read more

I initially went there because I had a really weird noise going on with my car and they were the only place who could take me on short notice. I went to have one thing checked and left with them changing SO MUCH on the car new outer tire rods, drive shaft (which was Awd and they changed it to a 2wd) we ended up agreeing to getting the work done even though I had work and my boyfriend has just worked 6pm-6am he stayed with the car and I went to work. They were super friendly at the time. A wrong part was sent over and so they had to have someone send the correct one and kept apologizing about the delay and the time it was taking. Knocking off like 100 bucks too and then they said your next oil change is free. Well, I went in to redeem that today. I called previously and there was no record so she asked me more info and said no problem we'll take care of that for you. Well I went in today and they were horrible. Saying "no coupons!" I told them it's not a coupon , this is what you guys offered I had never asked. She continues saying "no coupons because covid" gets her boss and he was so rude. He kept talking loudly over me and saying all the work I got done it would take awhile and that they are NOT doing anything for free, but can give me a discount. Which was hilarious to me because the girl said no discounts, yet here he was offering me one. I was so angered I left and went to my usual Speedee who was MORE than accommodating and friendly as usual. I will never EVER come back to this location. Worst experience ever! My husband had some work done on his truck and is now noticing a leak when he went under the truck he found that the part that was replaced has a bolt missing. He went back and the owner has the nerve to act like it was my husband's fault and want to charge more for something they didn't do. I really don't recommend going there. read more

Made an appointment online. System says someone will call you within 30-min. They didn't! Show up to the appointment and a name tag less rude women who appears like a vagrant passerby asks me why I'm here. I said I have a 12-2 appointment for a/c. She rudely says "we don't do a/c here. That's a corporate mistake" and then looks at me rudely. No attempt to redirect me where it could take place. No owning the mistake as a Midas employee. The service was very quick which was great because I waited on my vehicle. However I was surprised when I receive my receipt my Midas Courtesy Check was blank. I was used too the Midas in Manteca when you pick up your car their Is a review of the check list and recommendations of Anything that's in the yellow or red. My experience is crazy...The new owner is a jerk. My car has 115k miles...it has NEVER had a timing or miss hitting issue. After an oil change and "complementary inspection"..I now have several hoses not put back on. My engine light is on and my Cylinder #6 is missing hitting.. when I asked these guys to investigate..they only re-Set the engine light. The new owner yelled at me because I was being, "a pain and out to ruin his business" WTF? I now have to pay $99.00 for an evaluation from Chrysler and have to pay more from there to get fixed (no doubt). Actually i want to do vehicle inspection for uber. I was call them and they said yes, we do that for $30. I go there in 1 hour and when i reached there the owner said $120 for that . He said if u only need vehicle inspection thats for $30 bt if u want uber we need to do paperwork and thats for $120. I have new car its working really good so, why i need to inspection for that. Just because uber want the document and the same shop midas at manteca doing the inspection for $40 and all shops also doing in same price . So , why they guys charge so much extra . The manager is very rude with me . He said go anywhere who did it for $40 . Its such a wrong behaviour and they don't even know how to treat with their customers. I i'll be there again . Having just moved to Tracy my husband and I needed a new spot to take our cars to get oil changes and services. So we brought our older car to get a oil change and look over. (We knew we needed more work done on it than just an oil change). The front office girl that helped us, Ashlee was literally the best service I've ever had at most places, let alone a mechanic shop. Our appointment has been made online but got lost due to them having computer issues, but assured us that she'd get us in ASAP. I made sure that they would look over the rest of the car to let us know what else needed to be done, especially the brakes. Ashlee let us know they do a courtesy check over the car that is included with the oil change. She called about 20 mins later to let us know we did need both our brake pads and rotors done for our front wheels. And told us that they were really bad, in the red. And a few other things to be done. We decided to do it all (ouch bank account) but our safety and eventually the value of our car is important. Ashlee kept us up to date on everything by phone and was great. We left it over night and picked it up the next day. They are so welcoming here, we will definitely be back with our other car, and any future ones we have! Thanks Ashlee, you're the best girl! read more

I recently took both our cars in to this Midas location, over the last couple weeks, for oil changes. Both times, everyone I spoke to was professional, honest and straight forward. Not pushy but did bring up an area of concern I was aware of prior, so I know they are also thorough. It's nice to find a business that still operates this way.
