4.5/5: This is my 3rd or 4th time at this Midas. Jimmy was great to talk with on the phone and helpful in making my appointment for oil change and routine check up. Last time, they couldn't do tire rotation due to them trying to fit me in short notice and they must have been packed with appointments. I asked Jimmy on the phone to make sure this time tire rotation gets done and confirmed again in person today. Oscar worked on my RAV4 for oil change and tire rotations and checked other maintenance things. Oscar was thorough. This was the best and satisfactory experience by far out of all the other times I came. Didn't have to wait that long either so I added the .5 to the 4. Thank you for your help. read more

I went in for AC service and got extremely over charged by Rob the manager. I had a very small window to get the service done as I use a wheelchair for mobility and currently deal with Chemotherapy for cancer. I had no time for price comparisons, I had only one day where I was not too sick and loopy to get the service completed. Although I was a little spacey and talkative at the time due to the medications I thought I was in good hands because they (Rob & Mike) seemed down to earth and super friendly But that was not the case in the end. I don't know if it's because I am black or obviously disabled that prompted the extreme price gouge. All day my attitude was pleasant and I was constantly praising God for the little things praise worthy in conversations with other customers. I paid the bill chocking it up as a convenience fee as I knew I would not be able to have this done for another 6 mos and cancer/chemo in the summer heat is not an ideal situation. Bases on this isolated experience I would never go back to this shop and I would never recommend it to anyone because I put my best foot forward letting my light shine and they still chose to over charge as if I was not going to write a review. read more

First time I went to Midas for my Toyota RAV4's 72K-mile maintenance. All of the mechanics were very friendly and professional. What I appreciated most was their honesty. They were very polite and friendly and took care of my tubing for free and it only took 10 minutes! My client, a health compromised & disabled senior, took her car to Midas to see about having the low-beam bulb changed in her car. Midas, in a disgusting attempt at a cash-grab, quoted her nearly $600!!! They quoted $217 for the bulb (almost double what it actually cost) and a whopping $370 for labor!!! This is not only a blatant case of taking advantage of a senior, but proves a lack of integrity & moral compass. An asst Manager at AutoZone on Main (Katie), sold her the right part & attempted to put it in for her. But, since the original wasn't coming out right, Katie referred her to Jacks Transmission, who took care it in a short amount of time & saved my client over FOUR HUNDRED dollars & half a day without her car! Amazing Service! We were on our way to visit family in Texas, and they went out of their way to get us back on our trip. The transmission on our 2023 Dodge Ram with 103,000 miles on it quit working. The dash message just said OFF. Called Midas on Sunday late afternoon and spoke with Richard who said to bring it in. Had to have it towed so couldn't get the truck to them until Monday Morning. They completed the check and determined that the transmission was not repairable. Robert said he didn't have one in stock but would try to find one. He found one in the Bay Area and Richard drove there to pick it up. They started work first thing Tuesday morning, and the truck was ready by 5pm that afternoon. The entire staff was great! The price was more than competitive!! Midas really saved the day as the dealer said they wouldn't be able to start work on it for 3 to 5 days because they had to order one. read more

I needed to get a gasket replaced and when i got my car back the abs system failed and my check engine came back on. It was expensive for me to have to pay for them to fix something and mess something else up. You'd have better luck just going to a dealership or small mechanic shop. read more

So there I was, driving to work when the car starts to rattle. At first, it was occasionally. I thought; must have been something the tire ran over, bad road? No...It eventually started to violently shake (like it was having a seizure) no matter what road conditions and even at low speeds. Very scary. Of course, I immediately started to inquire on Yelp, get quotes and messaging them (mechanics) on thoughts of possible causes. I ended up taking it to Midas in Manteca, which is a half hour away. It would have been more convenient for me to take it somewhere in my own city but at this point I was looking for a shop I could trust, not convenience. (After my previous experience with another shop) I walked in. Ken was friendly, they were busy and he did not make me feel like I was an intruder for being a walk-in near closing time. I explained what was going on. He listened, told me to go ahead and bring it in the next day and they would check it out. I thought my car needed brakes and disk rotors. They checked it out and told me no, it did not. I had already had asked them to change it them thinking it was the disks/brakes. Even though it wasn't needed I made the decision to change them anyways. Most shops would do the work even if it's not needed just to charge you. Both Christian and Ken showed excellent customer service skills. That's rare to find in these days. Midas in Manteca found the reason my car was shaking was because of a problem with a part from the shop I had previously taken it to. I ended up having to take the car back there because the parts and work were still under warranty. My expertise in the area of mechanics extend to having to do my own tuneups, changing a small part like an alternator... and not much more. I need to know that I can walk in to a place and not be taken advantage of or told it needs work it doesn't and that what needs to be fixed will be fixed. This is one of those places. KEN WOULD'VE NEVER LET THIS EXPERIENCE HAPPEN! Called for a brake inspection. Rep told me to come in asap. I did. Sat in the lobby for 2 hours...just for an inspection. Watched several people come in, one with an appointment, one without. I asked the counter rep about the wait. Another worker asked him did I have an appointment, as if I wasn't sitting right there! I told him no, but I only needed an inspection!! Generally an appointment isnt needed for just an inspection! One rep proceeds to tell me that they are down some techs, and the one sitting there was kinda unavailable. WOW! I will take my business elsewhere. Ken needs to come back because these guys definitely don't know how to keep loyal customers. I walked in today and he has the nerve to tell me that I was lying, that had no appointment. He said that not only did I not make an appointment, that he had never seen me before in his life. He lied so that they could turn me away and start closing early.. well done buddy, lost a customer that planned on getting lots of work done on my car. Literally no better than the meineke down the street. Tried making an online appointment and received an email response that they'd follow up within 30 minutes to confirm my appointment. Waited and waited and they never did so I called. They matter of fact explained that the online appointments are through corporate and out of their control. I can't speak for all Midas centers. But this location in Manteca is nothing but comical... I wouldn't even bring my car back even if the labor was FREE Cristian is the only decent human in that building... He took the time to rack up the car and give it a look which was super cool.. The mechanics on the other hand.. I think they hate their jobs and life all together. Not even tryna be that person either but man.. mechanic was arguing with me about the time and price, when the estimate was done the day before.. I told dude. if you have a problem go speak to your manager. Instantly tryna bust the price up and tell me the job was gunna take all day, when their own computer system calls for one hour of labor LOL... Just pure laziness or lack of passion doing the work....I ended up calling off of work due to how long it took them to replace ONE hose ... Being flexible, I go to pick up my car and I'm out front on the phone. Dude had the nerve to come outside and pressure me. Saying, ohh aren't you in a rush, don't you need to be somewhere.. Yea, 4 hours ago I had plans to go to work.. when I called to get a check up on the car which was two hours later. They were on lunch and haven't even started on the vehicle... I get my car back and it's excessively leaking, Way worse than It was before I took it in.. Immediately after I picked up the car, I took it to Pep boys and got a diagnostic on the work they did.. SURE ENOUGH I got a print out explaining how they installed the hose incorrectly couldn't believe it.. What a waste of a day....... If you are reading this. Take your time to find another shop. I scheduled an appointment for an oil change with them and planned on waiting for the car. It took nearly 3 hours to get my car. I even told the person who checked me in that other cars and people came in after me and were being serviced right away. Dude could care less . Had my car there twice for the same problems. First..car intermittently not starting and second a noise from the rear right tire. I was assured both times after leaving the car almost all day that everything was great. Well, guess what? Tire exploded on the freeway less than 24 hours after they checked it out. When the tow truck came, car wouldn't start either and I had to pay an extra $50 for towing since the steering wheel was locked. Brought it in again. Had a huge hole in the air intake, that apparently less than 24 hours was invisible. Tire was completely gone. Owner thought this was funny and just stated...God was with you! No apology or explanation for the fuck up!! They are either totally incompetent or lying about having inspected my car read more

Ordered tires for my new in box wheels. Tires came in later in the day. Waited 40 mins after my 3pm appointment to find out that they "cannot install" the low profile tires on my rims. Because "we have and older machine that can't install low profile tires on the wheels!" Okay. Well don't offer the tires if you can't install them. Second, they damaged two of the 4 wheels that brought to them to install new in box. I asked if anything were damaged Christian or Chris whoever the older mans name was said no he checked the wheels and they weren't damaged. I brought in 4 in box wheels that was never touched and get back these damaged. Scuffed from their machine that was incapable of installing the tires. I would stay away from this location. Shawna the other person at the counter was just as bad as well, very unprofessional. I would not recommend bringing your vehicle to this place. read more

Awful. I paid about $600 for a check engine light just to have the same issue come up the next business day. I was told I'd get a call about the issue and a detailed explanation of what they can do and now they're suddenly impossible to get ahold of. I still have no message back. I am regretting ever coming Update: I had to take the car back and it turns out they gave me a nonfunctional part and didn't even hook it up in the car!! They refused to give me any sort of refund and I had to take two days off of work to have my car worked on. Horrible service- please beware and do not waste your time and money here. I'm from Bakersfield so about 3 hours out and my car got stuck out there. I was able to take it to Midas the next morning and Ken was a life saver. He was so sweet and helpful also the restaurant Shooters he recommended as we waited was delicious! I wanted to give Ken a big shoutout he helped us solve part of my car problem and fast too! We got there when they were slammed with cars but they were so efficient. Although I wasn't able to get my car fixed there, I was able to travel back to Bakersfield per Kens recommendation. Today would've been the 3rd service I received from this location. Last week I obtained an oil change and was given numerous suggestions on what additional services I needed. Of them included front brake pads and rotors (due to some "hot spots.") When I made today's appointment last week I said I would start off with the brake pads. That wasn't a problem then. But this morning, I was told doing only the brake pads wouldn't make a difference, and they pretty much refused to do the service. Smh! I won't return here, ever.
