I needed an oil change and they did just that. The workers were helpful and patient with my rowdy kids running around the lobby. They usually have coupons available online so you can save quite a bit depending on the service you're getting. I get full synthetic, so it's a pricier oil change, and I paid about half of what the guys down the street charge me after my coupon. I can't complain about anything, other than an uninviting waiting room, but I walked to Menards instead of sitting there. I looked into coming here for an oil change, I had free oil changes at the dealership for years, and when they finally dried up, they wanted to charge me $130 for oil change (only semi synthetic) and a tire rotation. I went on the Midas website since there was one near me, and there was a coupon for $49.99 for full synthetic with a tire rotation. I ended up pay $63 including extra oil and disposal fee. No hard up sell on anything like Uncle Eds, which I appreciated whole-heartedly. In and out within an hour! This is my new oil change place! read more

Called ahead asking if they cut and weld exhaust, was referred to this location and told that's "where the guy who welds is today". Was then charged a $60 diagnostic fee to be lied to. Was told that I needed the mid pipe and muffler completely replaced as 2 flanges were leaking, one was obvious but the other wasn't. Well the look on the service writers face was priceless when I popped the exhaust back together in front of him and said "you mean to tell me this can't be cut and sleeved? I could weld this together with a car battery, jumper cables and a flux rod, and you mean to tell me you can't do it with professional equipment?" The bullshit response of "we have to do it the right way" was met with the retort of "take it off the lift I'll pay your fee and probably find a real mechanic who doesn't want to sell unnecessary work" the rest of the interaction was awkward and I wasn't even given a proper quote, keep in mind I paid $60 to not even get an accurate quote. Went and found a real shop that actually cuts and welds exhaust, not only did they resolve my issue for $80 by cutting sleeving and welding the obviously bad flange, but they also confirmed the flange higher up the mid-pipe did not need to be replaced and was not leaking. I can't speak to other services offered, but for exhaust work do not take your car to any Midas location. They will lie to you and they will try to sell you something you do not need. I recommend Madison Muffler and brakes off of John R in Madison heights, knowledgeable trustworthy veterans of the automotive service business. Who won't feed you absolute bullshit and try to essentially rip you off. And to the customer care team who is going to respond to this review, I don't want to hear shit from you if you're not going to give me a refund for the absolute lie of a diagnostic you forced me to pay for. read more

Extremely disappointed and enraged by my experience today with this location.  I've been coming here for quite a few years and usually have a great experience,  but after today my loyalty with this company has been shattered. First, I came into Midas yesterday afternoon to see if they could fit me in the girl working there said they were down a mechanic and they wouldn't be able to get to it that day and that I should return tomorrow (today) at 8 AM. This was fine because she answered all my questions was very good with her customer service and seemed like she valued my time which is why I returned today at 8 AM. Today when I arrived the girl was there again and got me set up, they diagnosed my car and gave me an idea of what the important issues were to address which ended up being a wheel barring and hub replacement. The girl stated that they would have to order the part and then the repair and that it should only take max around 3 hours. I chose to leave my car there and run a couple errands and I was told they would call when my car was done. Flash forward to 7 HOURS later still had not heard anything about my car being completed, for a "3 hour job" even with complications I figured this was surely enough time to have heard from SOMEONE about my vehicle so I chose to call them. I was told by the gentleman that answered that the day had been "hectic" and that Jason the mechanic was still at that moment working on my car and that they would call me when it was done. I thought OK fine I will give them some more time and it shouldn't be too much longer... 2 1/2 hours go by and still no phone calling - being that it is now 5:30 pm and the shop closes at 6 pm I decided to go back into the shop. When I tell the guy I am the owner of the vehicle the FIRST thing he says is "I didn't call you yet"... I said No. You didn't but the shop does close at 6 so I'm here to make sure I get my car back.  He then proceeds to tell me again how hectic the day was and how supposedly the part that was ordered for my vehicle came in and was the incorrect part so they were waiting on the correct one to get there. Which I personally found interesting that 1. When I called at 3 my car was "being worked on" and 2. That this is now the first time I'm hearing about this issue. Did I get a genuine apology about my entire day being wasted with zero communication on WHAT was taking so long? No. I was met with excuses and zero empathy on the inconvenience.  Had I have received a phone call a few times to update me on this supposed "quick repair" being delayed due to complications I wouldn't have been so furious.  Now I wonder had I not shown up if I would have received a phone call at all and they would have just closed the shop and held my car hostage until the next day?! Because of all this - I DO NOT recommend this location any longer, they apparently have ZERO CARE for a person's time and prefer to NOT give clear communication to their customers and would rather them be left completely in the dark. This location takes advantage of woman and the manager & team provides the absolute worst customer service and lies to their customers and misconstrued their warranty and gaurentees. My Mother came to this location because of problems with her car. We are shown a part that was recently replaced 4 months prior was not installed properly and there was some other minor problems needed fixed with the car. They upcharged her 370% markup on replacing the part not including labor, while having very minor damage and was still usable according to many mechanics I've reached out too abd looking at the part itself. Alongside other huge markups on parts for the vehicle. Again all outside of labor. I saw the receipt when I came home early and was enraged at the price and how they easily took advantage of my mother with a gross disparity of the charges given to her. And she was also convinced to take out a credit card to pay the bill as well told by both the manager and employees they offered the part with the huge markup and didnt need to be replaced with a "lifetime warranty". It's a 12 year old vehicle with a lifetime warranty, what do you think will go first? Angered I used my connections and reached out to the Midas owner of Acorn and left messages on his phone. I'm then reached out one morning by the Manager who tried justifying the costs and there was no wrong doing on their part. And told me the part has a life time gaurentee, something that again, we aren't interest in, I mention it afterwords and he then rebuttles "It's not a lifetime gaurentee it's only a 2 year". After he just told me it was a lifetime, told my mother and her friend who went with her along with all the employees It's lifetime. And that the prices were things he just 'read from the computer'. I do invoicing as part of my job and I know you can make up any number you want invoicing and these are not set customer prices. And the way the manager talked to me saying my mom left satisfied and happy was a absolute lie. And I told him my mom was embarrassed, angry and couldn't let it go. So I reached out to various Midas locations from the same ownership, ask for estimates on costs for the same parts and job required. Not providing my own part, but what they'd provide and how much it would cost on top of labor. They all gave me a much lower markup averaging around 90% to 150%. So to be generous let's just say it was a 130% markup average. All this coming because I'm a man and my mom is a woman. It's clear they took advantage of my mom because she was a woman. Then we get a added bonus a few weeks back and saw the dealership charged the credit card TWICE. I was going back and forth with the owner with voice messages because we kept missing each other's calls due to timing. But I immediately called enraged and talked to owner about all the issues. My mother told me the manager was new and he was given the job because the previous owner refused to do residential work and was there to turn things around. (Which is probably another reason she was taken advantage of). The owner told me he was told what she was charged by the owner and workers and thought she was charged fairly telling me a markup that was no where near the actual charge given to my mother. So he clearly never looked into the actual charges. He says the manager told him his mother left perfectly happy when she wasn't. And as I brought up all the information I mentioned prior. He was in shock his store locations gave pricing over the phone (I know a company no-no, but when you own so many locations it doesn't take long to find 3 people to give you pricing over the phone even by mistake). And then when I brought up how my mom was taken advantage for being a woman, he tried bringing up how he has four daughters. I stopped him and told him I'm well aware of his daughter's, the colleges they go to and I'm sure he's a proud father. But I asked him if he didn't own all these stores, he'd want to make sure his daughters were treated fairly. Which he agreed to a resounding yes. I mention how my mother, her friend and I were all lied about lifetime gaurentee and that the manager and staff did a terrible job explaining. And kept shifting the blame to the part being replaced because the last people we went to messed up the installation (which we are having it taken care of but besides the point that the part was still usable and just needed to be adjusted). I just asked him to look into the double charge on the credit card and to give my mother a proper quote with the markups he told me they offered. And we haven't heard from them since. The manager was clearly lying to his boss since he just obtained the position to save face. And tried everything he could to deflect the problem or tell white lies about pricing. The owner is not at all aware of what's happening across his store locations and only goes off from what he's told. No one should go to Midas locations. I cannot stress this enough, read more

I do not recommend going here for an oil change. The staff did not offer options of the different types of oil and prices. Staff did not communicate and had no value of the customers time. It took over an hour and a half to get a simple oil change done. Upon completion, there were fees added on to the bill that are vague. A $30 oil change ended up being $48. I was driving home from work and my car started to overheat. So I pulled into this Midas to have them check it out for me. It was 5:30 and they closed at 6:00, but they were very nice and checked it out for me. Before it even cooled, the guy was saying that it was the fan and that it would be $655 to fix. They also charged me a $45 diagnostic fee. While sitting there I noticed that there was a Belle Tire next door. So the next day I took it there for their diagnosis. They confirmed that it was the fan, but they checked it out for FREE. AND their estimate was $300 less than Midas! So unless you have some crazy loyalty to Midas, I'd save the $300 and go right next door to Belle Tire. read more
